i have created a local development component and working on CE 7.1 .
Now we have established NWDI Track . And want to move the
Created Loca Development Component to the TRACK .
Please provide steps or the doc. .

Hi,
Did you have any problems with the documentation? The docs exactlly describe the steps how to migrate from local DCs to NWDI conrolled DCs. If there are questions left, please post a detailed question!! And as a hint, if you follow the steps in SAP help carefully everything would work.

Errors in Migrating a Local WD to the NWDI.

Hi Friends I have one doubt on Migrating a Local WD to the NWDI.
1.     I have created DC in DTR perspective. Now go to WDJ perspective and switch to the Navigation frame, select and expand the local WD.Right click on the src folder and select the Copy and Select the new DC go to src folder, right click on the src folder and select the Paste option as shown below.
2.     Now Select the existing Activity Click on OK Button.
3.     Now switch back the Web Dynpro Explorer frame, right click the newly created DC and select Rebuild from the popup menu, as follows.
4.     Once the build is complete you can expand your new DC and verify that the copied components are available.
5.     If you examine the Implementation of the new components you may notice that the code is full of compile errors. This is a bug within NWDS u2013 and should be remedied as follows.
In the Navigator right click on the DC and select Close Project from the popup menu.
Now right click on the DC and select Open Project from the popup menu
Go back to the Web Dynpro Explorer and rebuild the project.
This should resolve these errors, but should this fail u2013 restart NWDS. I have done these steps for Migrating a Local WD to the NWDI.
6.     Right now I am getting error. When rebuild the DC that time I am able to getting there warning message u201C.jar files not foundu201D that time I have to go to DC properties and open java build path here .jar files not available.
7.     How we will get all .jar files in DC java build path.
8.     For Exam: we have create one normal WDJ Application go to java build path that place lot of jar files is available. But in my DC not available that .jar file
9.     How I will get that .jar files. Could you tell me how to resolve the Issue. Here I am getting lot of error in wdContext,.size(), IWDMessageManager,IWDWindow here I am getting lot of error.

When i am creating in DC Click on Finish Button I got the warning message.
Development component Creation Completed with some Problems
Reason: Some used DCs are not avaliable locally. you have to sync used DCs for this project.
the alear Box having OK Button. Click on the OK Button that DCs was created in WebDynpro perspective. But the DCs not able to see under SC in DTR perspective. So that time i am restart the NWDS that time i am able to See DCs in Under SC in DTR perspective.
is it any problem in DC?. Finally i got error messages in Import Statements. every import statement having error message "Can't be resolved"

i have find out jar files in to Java Build path place there no .jar file in java build path place . Now what i am doing how to get .jar files. or how to solve the issue.

Help needed for importing the DC's from NWDI track very urgent

I am importing a DC from NWDI tracks.
I imported DC from NWDI with out any problem but i am unable to create a project
it shows an error while i am creating the project for DC in inactive DC's.
error message is :
Failed to sync DC "**.##/lpt/absencerequest/*.##_LPT_**_OPUS_FRAVAER_WEBDYNPRO_1)" in configuration
"JC0_DLPT0003_D". File "C:\Documents and Settings\****\.dtc\1\DCs\**.##\lpt\absencerequest\_comp\.dcdef" does not exist locally after sync but it exists on the server
can you plese tell me why its happening as soon as possible
it is a LEAVE REQUEST application in ESS

Recently i worked on ESS business package and faced lot of probelem to bring the track from NWDI into NWDS. Most of the times the probelms are from importing only. Make sure that whether the DCs which you want to modify is getting imported properly or not. mean the while check the path of the local directory .. whether it is correct or wrong..
re import the components once and try to create the porject in local directory.
to to Work spave -> local directory -> .dtc -> 0 or 1 ( folder) -> DCS -> bin ->

NWDI Track - Runtime Systems options

Hello All,
We are implementing Manager Self Service (MSS) in our company. (Webdynpro Java XSS 600)
We have Development (DEV) , Test (TST) and Production (PRD) systems in our landscape. (EP 7.0 SP 13)
We have installed and configured NWDI and created a track for the development on MSS.
In my track, I have the option of selecting upto 4 runtime systems.
I have a few questions about selecting the runtime system options in my track in our scenario:
1. Can I skip consolidation system in my track (no entry for runtime system consolidation in the Runtime Systems tab of the
Track Data page under Landscape Configurator). (OR) is it mandatory to have consolidation system defined?
2. In my track, If I use Development - DEV, Consolidation - TST, and Production - PRD are there any disadvantages with this
configuration. In this case, after the assembly of all the components in the track, the assembled components are
deployed directly on the Production Server (which I think might be a risk). Please suggest if we would have any other
problems with this configuration.
3. Can I define both Development and Consolidation systems in my track to be "DEV"- and then Test would be "TST"
and Production would be "PRD". Would there be any complications with this scenario ?
Please suggest the best practise of defining the runtime systems in a track - in our scenario.

I would recommend that you use your test/QA system as the runtime for "test" runtime - this way you get a chance to test out the assembled applications prior to putting them into your production system.
In our landscape we have no runtime for dev, use our development portal as our Consolidation runtime. The developers have local java engines that they can test their development on and therefore not impact on the true development system (therefore avoiding disruption to testing)
We have only recently started using MSS & ESS as such we will be installing local Portals for the developers to use and keep our development model the same.

How to put portal logon page CE 7.3 ui.war file in NWDI Track

We are using sap portal CE 7.3 in our project. I have customized portal logon page. for this I have downloaded ui.war file from portal server in my local machine that is on my desktop and this ui.war file i have imported in my NWDS and done the required modification.
Now I have to put this development that is modified ui.war in my NWDI track which is currently lying on my local machine Desktop, please let me know how to transport this ui.war file and ear project associated with this war file into NWDI track.
because from NWDI track only this customized logon portal page has to go to QA and Prd system.This is strict client requirement.

Hi Arush,
Instead of importing the war file into NWDI track,you can create new web module project in NWDI using New-->Development Infrastructure-->DC-->Java EE-->WebModule and copy paste the WebContent folder Jsp's and xml files which are inside the ui.war in your local machine. Then for this web module you can create ear file for deploying .I have done in this way it worked.

NWDI Tracks Lost in dev.

Dear All,
We are in some peculiar position. We have our nwdi tracks confitgured in our development system including dtr, cms and cbs.
so when we deploy application it should go to dev and then transported to other 2 systems. We have a central SLD in production system box.
Due to some issues, our dev system went down during Support pack upgrade and now we cannot login: login failure: all modules disabled.
We also dont have the backup as the backup is erased. what we have is offline file system backup.
We are planning to put our qa backup, in development system and then change all JCO and system objects paths to point to our R3 dev system. but we will loose all our tracks, versions of developed components in this activity.
My questions is how we can again apply our tracks and version, code of already developed components in the nwdi after configuring it again in the dev system.

HI Ankur,
if you have an offline filesystem backup everything should be ok. because after all a DB Backup with brtools rman or other tool is jsut saving the database files to another location.
So i would just do a recovery of your database with this files.
In case this is not possilbe, The only change I see to recover your sources is if they went to assembly once. In this case you can find SCA files of your application in your CMS/archives folder. In default this is located under /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in.
If the SCAs are assembled with sources you can setup your track and checkin this SCAs. You will have the sources of the last release then in your new track.
If they don't went through assembly or without sources and your databse is broken with no way to recovery, things look mighty bad in my opinion.

If you are using web based VC... then
Hope you have configured
1) a Track in NWDI and Software component in process of creating a track.
2) U have done all the required configurations in your CE server to show the Track content in VC 7.1
3) user has dtr account.

Now,
Just create a DC in local repository, create a model under the DC. Right click on DC and select "Add to Source Contorl"... DC will move to Software component of ur NWDI track. After this just check in the DC.

Eventing between 2 Local Development components possible ?

I have 2 Local DCs named 'Main' and 'Search'. As the name suggests, Main embeds Search in the "Used Web Dynpro components" and passes (via context mapping) a search parameter to Search. Search will appear as a popup window and display the table results if a match or several matches are found. User then have the option of selecting the one of the result from the table or cancel the search.
Everything works fine till I am trying to fire an event from Search to call the handler in Main. It seems that Search is not able to 'see' the handler that i have created in Main and is not able to close the popup search window.
The tutorial "Dialog Boxes in Web Dynpro Applications" demonstrates how to do eventing within the same component but I will like to know how can I do the above between 2 different Local Development components. Does anyone have a solution or idea to this ? Thank you very much.

Hi,
I think with that search parameter you can also pass on an extra parameter say <b>win</b> of type <b>IWDWindow</b> containing the reference of the window created in the main view.
In the popup window on action close of the window, instead of calling the handler you can directly give
win.close();
win.destroy();

When I try to create a DC project in NWDI with vendor as test and DC name as test2, its giving me the following error message and doesn't allow me to create the DC project.
Syntaz of test/test2 is not valid. Invalid name; on this server no names of category SAP_DevelopmentComponentName are allowed at all.
Can you please advice me here.

Could anyone help me please.
I think It is something to log on as batch, but I don't know.

I am acutally having the same issue.
I made sure the user belongs to "Log on as Batch Job" policy and also an administrator.
However, on the credential page, It will not take any password. The errors are same as the ones provided above.
Does anyone know where this process is looking to get the user information?
Are there any other way of getting around this?
One info. that I must tell you is that on my computer, i have two user account with same login name, one belongs to domain, and one is local machine login.
When I installed Oracle9iAS, i used the domain username. Currently I was only able to add my local machine user name to the policy becue it will not recognize my domain name login. It produces an error from a window stating "Domain does not exists or can't be contacted"
With the above statement in mind, I would appriciate any help. Thank you very much in advance.

Migrating local users failed with migration tool

Getting an error trying to migrate local users from windows server 2003 R2 (X86) to windows 2008 R2. There is no domain involve in our environment. Both are workgroup servers.
By following the steps given by Microsoft, trying to export local users and group information but failed with the error massage below,

Thanks for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
As per my research, you can able to achieve your data by choosing the option “Store all user settings and data in the user profile disk” would obviously capture everything normally stored under C:\users\<username>
and add that to the UPD. But please notice however that you can only select the roaming part of your user profile data.
On UPD profile is stored in a .VHDX file specific to your account which is placed on a central share. Upon logon a mount path is created under
C:\Users\<username> that points to that .VHDX file on the share. This makes the solution fully transparent to the Operating System and applications. If you’ve used UPD before you will have noticed that the filenames of the .VHDX files hold the
users SID, not the account name.
