Migrating MW between servers?

Hi,
does anyone have any experience of cloning an instance of Maintenance Wizard?
I wish to move my MW between two servers and wanted to know what steps I would need to follow in addition to the usual ones involved in cloning a a database?
Many Thanks.

From the setup.sh script under the config directory there is the section of the script that has the line
${ORACLE_HOME}/bin/sqlplus -s /nolog << EOT >> ./replace_xdb_homepage$$.log
I ran just this bit of the shell script to change the hostname.
Also because my oracle home was different I had to change a number of directories in the database. See dba_directories And grant java permissions on the different directories, see dba_java_policy

  • Communication between servers on different FIs

Just want to verify communication between UCS servers on same chassis but having active vNICs on different FIs (Diagram attached). I suppose all commuication between server-A & server-B will happen through Layer 2 switch as server-A will generate an ARP request for Server-B, that will be passed over to FI-A and then to L2 switch down to FI-B, where server-B will respond back with it's MAC that will then be passed to Server-A via FI-B to L2 switch to FI-A.I don't expect any traffic between servers A & B be routed via firewall? Is there anything I need to be careful about in this design? Going forward we will have multiple subinterfaces on the firewall for different VLANs and all servers will use Firewall as default gateway.

you may want to look at the throughput of your firewall for server-server traffic in different VLANs. If your L2 switch is 10G but your firewall is only 1G then you could have a potential bottle neck.

  • Copy file between servers, passing on firewall

I'm try copy a file between servers with Windows NT. I mapping the target server to drive X and test copying a file in windows explorer and command window and the files copy is OK. But if I try with a java class don't.
I'm try with FileInputStream (read) and FileOutputStream (write) but don't. I have use the Runtime.exec() for execute a DOS command but don't("cmd.exe /c copy c:\myfile.txt x:\"). this second showme a message "username incorrect or bad password", but the same sentence I run in a command window and the copy is OK!
    What can I do?

    Hi,
try to use HTTP for the transfer between
the two servers. Normally You can pass the
firewall using HTTP (like browsers do).
Therefor use classes in the java.net packages.

  • Distributed File System Replication between servers with different performance

If Distributed File System Replication is set between servers with different performance. What will happen with the performance of the fastest server? Will the performance decrease to match the performance of the
slowest server in the chain? I mean, will the source slow down (processor speed) if the recipients can't keep up?

    Hi,
If you mix different performance server for DFS replication, most of improvements on the fastest server are disabled for backwards compatibility and the performance decrease to match the performance of the slowest server.

  • Migrate VM between clusters added to the same SCVMM

Is it possible to migrate VMs between two Cluster ( from 2012 SP1 cluster to 2012R2 cluster) that added
    to the same SCVMM?

Yes this is possible. Make sure that the networks selected for live migration is available on both clusters, and that the name of the logical switch in both environments are identical.
The key here is that VMM must be managing both environments.

  • Migration from Standalone Servers to Clusters Under VirutalBox

    Hi,
I am working with a clients who has many WL standalone servers running Oracle Linux, Oracle 11g RDBMS, and WL 10.3.5. I want to migrate the standalone servers to managed clusters on VM images. I want to replicate the re-build process as well. Is there any easy way to do this with minimal configuration?
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

Create a new domain for OIM in a Cluster following the installation steps. When you install OIM, point it to the existing database. It will tell you to copy the .xldatabasekey to your instance. You'll need to apply any patches to your installation to make it the same version as your existing. Also, copy all the additional jar files and other files you've added to your XL_HOME directory for connectors. You should be able to run the config_cluster script in the XL_HOME/setup directory to setup the jms queue for the server you are on. I have never done this, but it should work. Make sure you've cleared out all JMS and Recon messages prior to doing this.

  • Message between servers

    Hi,
I am new to this JMS, after reading online and a sample application I got an idea how to configure JMS with resin and Jboss.
My question now is, how to send and receive messages between servers ? I have created some sample applications and just sent and received messages within the same server.
How can we achieve sending messages across servers ?
    Thanks in advance.
    ~ SK

    Hi Elad,
We did XI-XI communictions a bit different, we approached it as a B2B scenario. We defined a Party for the sending XI system and we created an abstract interface with the Idoc messagetype (because you need on both sides the same interface name/namespace and we use naming conventions).
In the receiver agreement of the sending XI system you have to replace the party and service name with the ones you have did setup on the receiving XI.
I hope this helps you in the right directions
    Cheers,
    Frank

  • Migrating configurations between two servers

I would like to know if it is possible to migrate the configuration between two server (TEST to PROD). We are now implementing a new company (which includes OPM, INV,FA, CE, AP, PO, OM, GL) and if all works, we'll want to migrate the configuration in order to not do everything again.
We pass to much time configuring in TEST server and later reconfiguring in PROD server
If you have an script generator or another tools, please tell us.
    Thanks & Regards,

FNDLOAD: can be used for Migration to synchronize the data across databases instance (Dev/Prod).
Using FNDLOAD can download data from an application entity into an editable text file, which can be uploaded to another database. The Conversion between database format and text file format is specified by a configuration file.
    What can be Done?
·It can be done following list
    · Concurrent Programs, Executables
    · Request Groups, Request Sets
    · Profile Options
    · Key and Descriptive Flexfields
    · Menus and Responsibilities
    · Forms and Form Functions
    · Attachments
    · Messages
    · Value Sets and Values
    · Lookup Types
    · User Responsibilities
    · Printer Definitions
    · FND Dictionary
    · Help Configuration
    · Document Sequences
    · Concurrent Manager Schedules
To use FNDLOAD, the following syntax is needed.
    FNDLOAD apps/appspwd 0 Y mode configfile datafile entity [parameter1…..]

  • Migrating data between two portal servers - same version

I recently set up a new host to replace our existing Portal 6.0. Both hosts are running Solaris 9 and Portal 6.0. Right now, both hosts are up and running. Are there any docs on copying, or migrating the data from the old host to the new?
I want to make sure we get all relevant information including user info, user settings and desktop layout etc. We are using the sample desktop that comes with Portal 6.0.
I was wondering if I could accomplish this by backing up the LDAP database and restoring it on the new server. The only problem with this is there may be embedded references to the original server name and that would hose the new server.
Any ideas on how the best accomplish this task?

    Hi to all,
Client side eventing can be used when my both portal components are on same page , but here my portal components are not on same page to be more precise , i wanted to share a parameter between logon module and mast head component , so
basically when use enters user name and password
at that time my logon module is called and now after authentication , we get into the applications on top of which mast head component is present .
In this case how to share the parameter  ??

  • Apex 4.2: migrating db tables between servers - methodology

    Hello
I’m just about to start migrating DB tables from apex.oracle.com onto our local server (by copying the CREATE statement from the Object Browser > SQL tab and then later exporting/importing data via Excel).
Can anyone confirm that this is the best approach as there are ~45 tables and I wouldn’t want to later discover there was a quick way to export all the tables in one go (they all begin “AA_” so I had hoped I could refer to them collectively in one mega export).
Similarly it would be good to know if there is a way to generate SQL that both CREATE and INSERT statements in one go.
    Thanks

  • Best way to migrate between servers Server 2012

I want to image or clone my old server and install on the new server. I was looking to go the route of ImageX/DISM and clone the old one, then burn the image to a DVD. Am I on the right track? I tried using Windows AIK for Windows 7, but it gives me error
50 on the final step. What should I do to easily move my existing server to the new one. I don't want to do all Windows Updates and server roles over again. Also, this is not a DC.

    Hi,
I think AIK for windows 7 cause the problem.
Try the latest version for windows 8.1.

  • SSIS Migration between Servers

    Good Day,
I am in the process of moving my ssis package development to a new machine.  I have zipped up all of my development/solution files and put them on the new machine...put them in place...but when I try to test them within Visual Studio I am getting a build error that says
Error 3 Cannot create the output file "C:\Documents and Settings\mandolin\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Projects\Transfer and Load Enrollment Data\Transfer and Load Enrollment Data\bin\CUP Enrollment Data Pickup.dtsx": The device is not ready.  .  0 0
Additionally, but related, I can only open some projects within the solution.  I am getting the following error when I try to open "some" of the packages within the solution:
The Device is not ready.  (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070015)
Can someone offer some advice on just what is happening here?  I would really appreciate any thoughts or advice.
    Thank you in advance.

I have copied the SSIS package from a server to my local drive for modification. In Server it was in D drive. My local one is in C Drive. I was getting the same error message. After looking at more detail, I found that in the Configuration of the Project,
the Output Path was specified to D:\XXXX and DeploymentOutputPath also has D:\XXX. After changing both of them to C:\XXXX, it is working fine. You need to specify those path correctly as your project path.
You can find those two fields (variable) by going through following steps:
    1. Right click on Project
    2. Select Properties
    3. From the Left pane click on Build and Right pane will show OutputPath
    4. From the Left pane click on Deployment Utility and Right pane will show DeploymentOutputPath

  • Migrating a LiveCycle RM installation between servers

    Hi,
I need to move my ES2 LiveCycle RM installation from a Win2003 server to a Win2008 server. I am not interested in upgrating to ES3 nor to change anything on the current configuration.
Is there any guide on how to get it done? (I was plannig to simply copy the Jboss completely)
    Thanks!
    Roque

    Hi
    Apple make available this guide:
    http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/Upgradingand_Migratingv10.5.pdf
However not everyone has had success doing this.
If it was me and assuming the existing Server is 10.4.x Server on a PPC unit and IF the Server Installer disk is the UB one you should be able to install this from scratch on the new Intel unit. Make sure both versions are exactly the same before transferring property lists from one Server Admin to the other as well as archiving the LDAP database. Exporting Users and Groups is also a good idea just in case. Unshare all share points and begin to transfer these over.
Once you have promoted the new box to OD Master after configuring Server Admin using transferred plists, restore the LDAP Database, reshare share points as well as defining automount home directories and re-locate users to network homes.
Make sure DNS is as it should be and test this thoroughly before upgrading to Leopard Server.
    Hope this helps, Tony

  • Correct tool for my purpose of data movement between servers

    Hello All,
I am in the process of trying to copying over data from source sql server table to destination sql server table. The requirements being, only the new or updated data needs to be migrated to destination table, once a week. Our source table has 23 million
    rows and growing.
I researched two different solutions and would like to know if anyone has feedback on these.
    1. Merge - used to sync data between source and destination table using SSIS packahe. But the problem for this according to my research, with the amount of data in consideration, the transactional log will grow by leaps and bounds. Not the way.
    2. Replication - I have started my research in this matter. Would this be an ideal solution?
    Many thanks.

Transactional replication is the best fit here. You should be able to get near real time synchronizations between your source and destination servers IF you have a pk on the table you are replicating.
If your skill set is with SSIS the merge component will also work.
If you backup your tlog every 20 minutes or so, your tlog will be maintained and you should not see explosive growth.
Note that both the SSIS merge component and transactional replication will lead to large tlog growths unless you maintain your tlog.
