Migrating settings doesn't work

I just updated today (October 8, 2014) and when I started the new version of AFX, it asked me if I wanted to migrate my settings from a previous version. I did, but all my workspace settings are lost. WTF else would I want to migrate over, besides my F'N workspace settings?
TEST YOUR ****** SOFTWARE before releasing it. I've told you morons about this before.

Settings other than workspaces (keyboard shortcuts, preferences, output module templates, composition settings templates, render settings templates, interpretation rules) are migrated. Workspaces are not migrated. You can manually copy them from the previous version's settings folder, though.

Kde4.10 system settings doesn't works without root privileges (SOLVED)

After update to version 4.10.0-1 systemsettings only works with root privileges. When I launch the application as a normal user window opens but nothing happens when I click any option. Is this a bug?

I had tried it. The output on konsole is "QDBusConnection: session D-Bus connection created before QCoreApplication. Application may misbehave" what seems to be a generic error message concerning a problem in implementing the PoliceKit. Closing the window the output message is "systemsettings(1780)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:"
Given that the application works correctly when using kdesu systemsettings, I think that it is a permission issue.

Adobe 10.2 flash player doesn't work on some site with diff browsers

WTF! I've been through every forum about new adobe flash player it doesnt work on some site i.e facebook, ustream, fox news, dailymotion and cartoon network...Nobody, not even adobe has a real solution to this problem! Some site stream good other don't at all. All I get is a blue box in the display sometimes it loads, but doesn't play the video or games. Updated Java and SWF and by the way this a brand new computer fresh out the box WIN7 64 worked before why not now! I've reinstall and uninstall, checked active X java scripting, and global settings and so on, but nothing seems to work. WHY? Global settings doesn't work for some unknown reason can't enable some of the settings. Everything work fine on my PC before the update, so go figure adobe. No! browser works with the new flash player properly. Fire, IE, Safari, and Opera none of these browser work with the flash player like it should! HELP!!! "I see why apple doesnt wont to have anything to do with adobe flash."

I don't understand - in your post you mention "new Flash Player" several times, but in the subject you mention 10.2...?
What is the exact FP version you have?
For your blue box problem, have you tried to disable Hardware Acceleration?

That the Migration Assistant doesn't work is a KNOWN ISSUE. Last week I got a new iMac and the old and new couldn't find one another. I called tech support 3 times and spent I don't know how long on the phone. They finally suggested I take them both to an Apple store, which I did today. The Genius knew all about it - said it's a known issue. To "resolve" it he started the old iMac in "disk mode" and then the new one could see it, but that wasn't an adequate fix: After spending over an hour moving the files, they wouldn't have been in their proper folders. I would have had to manually file 6 years worth of pics and files! NFW - I returned the new computer and will make do with my old one until Apple gets this right.

Image transfer via AIM doesn't work in Messages anymore

My chat contacts and me are experiences many issues with inline image transfer via AIM since Yosemite, especially if two people have different OS versions. If one party is on Yosemite, image transfer with the standard server settings doesn’t work anymore. I read in one of the other threads here that port 5190 is required for image transfer. The default setting is 443 (and it should change the port for image automatically?). Is it possible that something with the ports or the SSL behavior has changed for Messages 9 on Yosemite? (I have computers with 10.10 and 10.8 and experience issues both ways chatting with someone on a different OS).
It seems to work if everyone switches off SSL which changes the default settings to login.oscar.aol.com and port 5190. If both parties have this setting it works. If one uses port 443 and SSL on it doesn’t. But switching off SSL is not a sustainable solution. Any other ideas? I tried to force port 5190 and slogin.oscar… with SSL but then can’t connect.

Standard web template doesn't work

Hi,
I am currently experiencing difficulties when executing query from query designer and using Java web from RSRT.
I get this error message The Web template "WEB_TEST" does not exist in the master system every time.
The web template "WEB_TEST" shouldn't exist in BI 7 because it belongs to BW 3.X and I don't know why I keep on getting this error message.
I have set the standard web template from RSCUSTV27 to 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN and even make the fields empty but I still get the error message.
If I use RSCUSTV21 and change the settings I can easily see the result.
Can someone tell me why I can still get this error message and where can I set my default web template because SPRO settings doesn't work

Default template 0Analysis_pattern wasn't changed or edited and I have installed it from Business content again and changed the settings from RSCUSTV27.
I think the settings that points to default template in Java web has changed. and I don't know if this was done in portal side or BI.
I can easily change the template settings back and front in ABAP Web (RSCUSTV21) and it works just fine.change
I made a work around solution by copying 0Analysis_pattern and renaming it to "WEB_TEST" template and Java web works properly.
so settings is pointing to WEB_TEST template and this template doesn't exist in the new BI. Its in BW 3.X

Migrated Mail Account doesn't work

Last week I used Migration Assistant to move everything from a 10.5 MBPro to a shiny new 10.6 MBPro. Just about everything is working except one of my email accounts. In its previous incarnation it successfully connected to an Exchange server using POP over SSL. Now it doesn't work. Nothing has changed at the server end - I can still use the same settings to access it from a Windows machine.
Mail doesn't report any errors, so I watched the conversation with Wireshark. The Mac side closes the connection after sending a TLSv1 encryption alert, code 21, which is an encryption error. When I look at the X.509 cert sent by the server, it has, according to Wireshark, the "not before" field set to Aug 6th 2011, and the "not after" field set to Aug 8th 2010. Would this be enough to produce encryption errors? Is the encryption mechanism more sensitive on Snow Leopard than on Leopard?

Update - I was misinterpreting the certificate dates. The "not before" is in fact 11/08/2006, and the "not after" is 10/08/2008, so it is not a date conflict issue, just a completely out-of-date issue (that's August, not October, for those that read their dates differently).
I ran Thunderbird, and it pops a dialog box to ask if it is OK to use the expired cert, and will then successfully retrieve Mail from the server.
Why won't Mail do it?

Download a piece of software called TinkerTool - that might just solve your problem. I have used it myself to change the system fonts on my iMac. It is software and not an app.

Did you try booting off your Install disk holding the c key down. From here you can get to the drop down menu just a few clicks in (you are not going to install) and run the Disk Utility>Repair Disk. See if it will let you do this.

No, the app does not have to completely restart. It gets shifted in its open state into storage. Similar to how a computer uses the hard disk when it has insufficient memory.
What complicates things is that sometimes memory does not get returned for reuse when you close an app. Thus yo should periodically double click the Home button and "delete" unnecessary apps from the multitasking dock and power off and then back on the iPod.
