Migrating shared services registry from version 9 to version 11.1.1.3

Good day all,
I'm currently doing a migration of Hyperion Shared Services from version 9.3 to version 11.1.1.3 on different servers. Right now, I have imported the users, groups, and the roles from version 9 to version 11, but I'm having troubles migrating its registry.
Could you please guide me on where to start on this process?
Thank you very much.

Dude,
You may possibly get by using LifeCycle Managment. Have you tried that?
http://www.artofbi.com/index.php/2009/08/hyperion-11-lifecycle-management-lcm-in-action-part-1/
You may have to tweak the resulting output files a bit for version 9 vs 11 but this would give you a good starting place.
Please award points if that helps.

    Hi All,
We need to migrate Shared services users and groups from 9.3.1 to 11.1.2.2 version. Any help would be appreciated. Can we use CSS import export utility?
    Thanks in advance!!

Hi John, In my another environment I have to migrate the users and groups from Hyperion HSS 11.1.1.2 to Hyperion shared services 11.1.2.2. I am using LCM for that, when I export the users and gropus from 11.1.1.2, it exports fine but when i import it to my 11.1.2.2 using LCM, I am getting the below errors.
Error when I try to import the groups:
ErrorEPMIE-00051: Failed to perform operation on role. Could not locate role matching filter {0} and filter attribute {1}. Please ensure that a role exists matching the filter with filter attribute.
EPMIE-00024: Failed to import all of the membership info for group test group. Invalid group members encountered. Please ensure the validity of members and its existence in their respective providers.
Errors when i try to import the users:
ErrorEPMIE-00051: Failed to perform operation on role. Could not locate role matching filter {0} and filter attribute {1}. Please ensure that a role exists matching the filter with filter attribute.
EPMIE-00020: Failed to update user 04668162 during import. Invalid identity for user. Please ensure that the user is available in the system with the identity specified in the import file.
    Any idea?

  • Shared Services Registry and common settings (foundation)

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to open shared serices regisry but surprisngly it is not available under start>programes>Foundation services>epmsystem (only digonostics is showing).
Q1) Does we need to enable it from somewhere?
Q2) if i make some changes under foundation> common settings> (mail conf) etc using config utility; does it require to make changes at all servers in distributed environment.
    Version 11.1.2
    Regards
    Kumar

Q1 - I am not sure what you are looking for, the shared services registry is accessible through Shared Services web or http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121/apgs02s01.html
Q2 - Probably worth restarting foundation if you make changes even though it should pick them up as they are just stored in the relational databse.
    Cheers
    John

  • Connection to "Central" Services Registry from Visual composer not working

    Hi Folks,
We are having issues connecting to the Services registry from the Visual Composer. The search on services in the services registry does not yield any results.
We have configured the NWA page as mentioned on the "Configuring the Services Registry" http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/46/94dd02c7b915ebe10000000a114a6b/frameset.htm
Any ideas to help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Z.

    Hi ZM
I had the same problem with my service registry. In Web Visual Composer, i didn't find any service in SR.
    I resolve in two ways.
Configure the service registry in NWDS, there works fine, but i have problem with DC in VC in NWDS.
I use destination WSIL, with this destination i have found all the services

  • Using the local service registry from other applications (VC, GP)

    Hi all,
I am not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but my problem is the service registry I think.
I am facing the problem of using services that I publish to my local service registry from VC and GP.
    The problem is as follows:
I publish the services via the "publish" tab on the http://localhost:50000/sr page. The process is executed successfully according to the message.
Then on the Service Definitions Tab of http://localhost:50000/sr I can find and test the service, though on the System Details Tab All parameters are set to "No data available".
When I then try to search the service from the VC (searching in a Ws of type service registry, which I have previously configured through destination templates), I get "no services found".
In the GP I see the published services, but when I try to use them as callable objects, I get the following error message:
"WS-Interface initialization problem of GenericServiceFactory..., Local_Service_Registry - ServiceName not found. possible changes in the WSDL"?
I also tried publishing the web services through the ws restrictions, but they dont get published.
I have adjusted the UDDI_DESTINATION and CLASSIFICATION_DESTINATION properties according to the help page for the localhost system. I also use a Local_Service_Registry destination of type service registry as I thought I need it in oder to use the service registry.
Has somebody experienced this problem before?
    Thanks in advance!
    Best regards,
    Vera

  • FAQ: How do I migrate my saved presets from an earlier version of Photoshop or import/export them?

You now have the option to migrate presets from a previous version, export presets and to save to a directory as a zip file (great for instructors).
Preset Migration migrates your saved presets, not your preferences. The message says "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"  It simply carries on the preset files you have already saved (things like Brush Tips, HDR Toning presets, Curve presets, Styles etc.)  to CS6.
HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP CS6 AUTOMATED PRESET MIGRATION
Photoshop CS6 offers the great new functionality of automated preset migration for your custom presets from Photoshop versions as far back as CS3.
When Photoshop CS6 launches for the first time, it checks for previous installations of Photoshop on the computer to see if there are custom presets that need to be migrated. Photoshop looks in each of these presets folders for your saved custom preset files that it can migrate.
Preset migration script copies all the files in user preset folders of older versions. If there are more than one preset files with the same name, presets from the newer version will be given priority. These types of presets will be migrated by the script:
3DLUTs, Actions, Black and White, Brushes, Channel Mixer, Color Books, Color Swatches, Contours, Curves, Custom Shapes, Deco, Duotones, Exposure, Flash 3D, Gradients, HDR Toning, Hue and Saturation, Levels, Lighting Effects, Lights, Materials, Meshes, Optimized Colors, Optimized Output Settings, Optimized Settings, Patterns, Render Settings, Repousse, Scripts, Styles, Tools, Video, Volumes, Widgets, Zoomify, and Workspaces
If this is not your first launch and you would like Photoshop to look for presets,
Choose Edit > Presets > Migrate Presets
When Photoshop notices that you have custom presets saved in their appropriate folders it will give the message "Would you like to migrate presets from the following versions?"
Choose Yes. Photoshop will begin the preset migration script.
When the migration has completed Photoshop will pop up another message saying:
"Preset files from older versions successfully migrated"
In order to use your newly migrated presets, you must restart Photoshop.
If you had Photoshop CS6 beta installed and have saved custom presets, you will need to export those presets before uninstalling the previous version and installing the release version of Photoshop CS6.
    HOW TO SAVE PRESETS
For PS, check that you have saved all your presets using:
Edit>Preset Manager... (in previous versions) Edit>Presets>Preset Manager... (in CS6)
HOW TO IMPORT AND EXPORT PRESETS
    In the main PS menu,
    Choose Edit > Presets > Export/Import Presets
In this dialog you can export the presets and then import them when you load the new version using the same Export/Import dialog.
If you have gone through the automated preset migration and notice that some of your presets didn't get migrated with the rest, make sure you have exported your presets to their default folders.
    PRESET FILE LOCATIONS:
(Note that there are two different folder locations for presets, one for application provided default presets, and one for user created preset files)
These are the presets that are unique to each user on the computer. These can be migrated automatically: (this is the location that the user should save their personal presets in)
    Windows:  Users/[user name]/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Mac:  Users/[Username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
These are the default presets that ship with Photoshop.  These presets can be imported but will not copy over using the migrate feature because each version of Photoshop will install defaults for that version.
    Windows 64 bit:
        [Hard Drive]:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 Bit)\Presets
    WindowsXP and Windows7 32 bit:
          [Hard Drive]:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Presets
    Mac:
        [Hard Drive]/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS6/Presets
    Frequently used preset filename extensions:
    ABR  Brush preset
    ACO  Swatch preset
    ASL  Style preset
    ATN  Action preset
    CSH  Custom Shape preset
    GRD  Gradient preset
    PAT  Pattern preset
    SHC  Contour preset
    Here is a helpful tutorial:
    http://tv.adobe.com/watch/learn-photoshop-cs6/preset-migration-and-sharing/

Do you have an  iPhoto Library from the old machine? If you have then simply open it - there's no importing involved.
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
If you don't have an actual library there is no way to do what you want.

we are migrating our application from jdk 1.3 to jdk 1.6.As a part of that we are migrating Weblogic server also from 6.1 to Oracle weblogic 10.3.2. When we replaced old weblogic.jar with new weblogic.jar,we are getting following exceptions.
1)The project was not built since its build path is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for weblogic.security.acl.BasicRealm. Fix the build path then try building this project
2)The type weblogic.security.acl.BasicRealm cannot be resolved. It is indirectly referenced from required .class files
In one java class, import statement is there as follows
    import weblogic.security.acl.User
But it says import weblogic.security.acl.User cannot be resolved
    for the other import
import weblogic.security.acl.AbstractListableRealm; it says AbstractListableRealm deprecated
Please assist us what alternatives we can use to resolve the above two cases.

  • Issue in migrating analysis service job from one server to another

    Hi All,
I'm migrating analysis services from one server to another, within the source server there is a job with the name
denreportingprocess which executes a batch file within local drive on server. I have moved all the analysis services cubes from the source server to destination and all the databases on the source server have been restored to destination.Verified
cubes are pointing to the correct database by modifying the connection string within the datasource part of the cube databases.
I have copied the entire process folder from source to destination and edited the code within the run file and code within the job pointing the locations to new server.
Below is the job code, it is running a batch file placed in E drive
    E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\run.cmd
Below is the text within the batch file (windows command script)
    E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\ASCMD -S "servername" -i "E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\Process.xmla"
    -o "E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\Log.txt"
Below are the list of files within the folder E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process
    ASCMD
    process.xmla
    Logs.txt
    run
When I run the job it is failing with below error message
Ascmd: Exception trying to impersonate user: Access to the path 'E:\MSSQL10_50.MSQLSERVER\process\log.txt' is denied.
Ascmd: Execution failed: Access to the path 'E:\MSSQL10_50.MSQLSERVER\process\log.txt' is denied.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards, Kranthi

    Hi Visakh,
Thanks for the reply, I have mapped the account under which the job was running to D drive, now it can access the file but job is still failing and error is not that informative.
Below is the error message with which the job is failing, where can i find this output file with errors
    Executed as user abc_agent. C:\Windows\system32>E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\ASCmd -S "servername" -i "E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\process.xmla" -o "E:\MSSQL10_50.MSSQLSERVER\process\Log.txt"   Microsoft

  • Deploying to Oracle Services Registry from Oracle Workshop (10.3.1)

    Hi folks,
In our project, we are using Oracle Services Bus (version 10.3.1) and we want to interact with an UDDI registry (Oracle Service Registry). We used the following process :
1/ Creation of a UDDI file correctly configure in our OSB project from Oracle Workshop. The validation test works like a charm
2/ Importing a Service from UDDI in Oracle Workshop correctly works too.
The problem : We cannot find a way to export our services (Proxy services) from Oracle Workshop into the UDDI. Is it possible ? What do we do wrong and how can we do that ?
Thanks in advance for your answer,
    Cheers

This is a blocker issue for us. Any hints ? At least, we need to know if it's possible to do so and if somebody faces the same issue.
    Thanks,
    Cheers,

  • How to Move the Shared Services Registry to a different SQL Server

I have an Essbase installation purely running Essbase and Financial Reporting/Web Analysis.
The Shared Services database is held in SQL Server 2005 on one hardware platform and I need to move it to an alternative hardware platform also running SQL 2005.
I thought it might be as easy as backing up from one server and restoring to the other and then running EPM System Configurator.
Firstly, when running configurator and selecting the Hyperion Foundation Configure Database option, on the 'Shared Services and Registry Database Configuration' screen the details of the original hardware are displayed, clicking 'Next' gets no response.
If I can resolve this first issue, how do I then re-point the database to the new server?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi John
Took a look at the link thanks.
On point 3 it says to stop the original database. If you take the database offline, in configurator you don't then get the options in option 5!
In the dos command window for configurator I get 'Unknown Source' messages (either using current server or new).
configtool.log lists as follows. Does this point to anything?
    Thanks.

  • Unable importing Shared Service artifacts from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 thr LCM

    Hi all ,
I am trying to migrate Financial Reporting from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1 using LCM. I have exported Shared Services & Reporting-Analysis data via LCM utility.
While importing the same through File System in 11.1.2.1 , I am getting errors related to Groups, Users import
                /Native Directory/Assigned Roles/Essbase:<11.1.1.3 servername>:1
               EPMIE-25029: Invalid project Essbase:<11.1.1.3 servername>
/Native Directory/Assigned Roles/Foundation : Error : EPMIE-25026: Failed to import all of the provisioning info. Invalid product type/role for application Shared Services.
                /Native Directory/Assigned Roles/Planning: Error : EPMIE-25029: Invalid project Planning.
What part of the 11.1.1.3 exported files need to be edited/modified before importing into 11.1.2.1 ?
Please help if you have any suggestions & other ways of migrating Financial Reporting from 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.1
    Thanks in advance,
    Santy.

Its Possible. You have to make changes in exported files according to 11.1.2.1 way. Probably John knows about the same.
    Thanks,
    Santy

  • Migrating Shared Services

    Hi all,
Is there a utility/tool to migrate Hyperion Shared Services 9.3.1 from one server to the other?
    Thanks,
    Manoj

    Hi,
You can use the css import export utility to export all the provisioning from HSS and then import it into your target HSS
Have a look in \Hyperion\common\utilities\CSSImportExportUtility there will be a zip file, unzip and there is a document with instructions on how to use it.
    Cheers

    Hi Chanakya,
Please find this help.sap.com link which gives the standard procedure for publishing services.
    [Publishing a Service|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/44/b7f7e1354135e7e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm]
Even this indicates use of WSPUBLISH Transaction.
I'll update if any new information is found.

  • Application registered with shared services registry 11.1.2.1 - interesting

    Here is an interesting situation.
Our HFM application has 4 to 5 AD groups in shared services. All groups are ok except one group which keeps dropping out of shared services. Hence the users loggin in from that domain couldnt connect and get the message in the subject.
    Any clues guys?

I've come across a similar issue on 9.3.1
I dont know the exact techinal details but the hyperion system account that was used to log onto the domain we were having issues with kept getting locked out for some reason.
When the system account got locked out it couldn't access the AD and all users on that AD lost access.
When we got that account unlocked by the AD team all users got full access back
