Migrating to 1250's

We are thinking of migrating to 1250's to start preparing for 802.11n.
My questions are can you have a mixed environment with 1130's, 1231's, 1242's and 1250's. If so, are there any problems with roaming between different AP's? or Power requirements We have for the most part WS-C3750-48PS-S, WS-C3750G-48PS-S and 6500's
WS-X6148A-GE-45AF cards in the access closets.
Right now we have Cisco 7921 phones and Vocera badges on "B/G", wireless laptop carts on "A".
I am not concerned to much with increasing speed at this point I am more concerned with having a stable environment until we complete the migration.

"Configuring an Access Point's Prestandard Power Setting
An access point can be powered by a Cisco prestandard 15-watt switch with Power over Ethernet (PoE) by entering this command:
config ap power pre-standard {enable | disable} {all | Cisco_AP}
A Cisco prestandard 15-watt switch does not support intelligent power management (IPM) but does have sufficient power for a standard access point. The following Cisco prestandard 15-watt switches are available:
•AIR-WLC2106-K9
•WS-C3550, WS-C3560, WS-C3750
•C1880
•2600, 2610, 2611, 2621, 2650, 2651
•2610XM, 2611XM, 2621XM, 2650XM, 2651XM, 2691
•2811, 2821, 2851
•3631-telco, 3620, 3640, 3660
•3725, 3745
•3825, 3845
The enable version of this command is required for full functionality when the access point is powered by a Cisco prestandard 15-watt switch. It is safe to use if the access point is powered by either an IPM switch or a power injector or if the access point is not using one of the 15-watt switches listed above.
You might need this command if your radio operational status is "Down" when you expect it to be "Up." Enter the show msglog command to look for this error message, which indicates a PoE problem: "
Also from the same url:
Enhanced PoE switches-Enhanced PoE switches (such as the Cisco Catalyst 3750-E Series Switches) can be used with 1250 series access points to auto-negotiate a power level in excess of 15.4 W per port.
It is my understanding (correct me if I am wrong on this) that the switch power subsystem/supply can only dole out so much power either per port or overall regardless what the controller indicates.

  • Migrating Toplink IAS app to WebLogic – SessionManager and NoSuchMethod

    Hello,
I've migrated old IAS application to WebLogic. This is simple app (no EJB just POJO) written using JDeveloper 10.1.3.5 and Toplink version 9.0.4.
Everything works fine on IAS application server.
    Migration process in steps:
    1. Moving sources to JDeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
    2. All POJO-s and Toplink mappings were recreated from database (no old sessions, mwp files left)
    3. Application compiled with no error
    4. Prepared ear file includes war file and libraries like com.oracle.toplink_1.0.0.0_11-1-1-5-0.jar etc.
EAR deployed to local WebLogic Server 12.1.1.0.
First Struts action making access to database generates error like below
    java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: oracle.toplink.tools.sessionmanagement.SessionManager.getSession(Loracle/toplink/tools/sessionconfiguration/XMLSessionConfigLoader;Ljava/lang/String;Ljava/lang/ClassLoader;ZZZ)Loracle/toplink/publicinterface/Session;
    Line of code looks like:
    XMLSessionConfigLoader loader = new XMLSessionConfigLoader(getSessionsXmlPath());
    Session tmpSession = SessionManager.getManager().getSession(loader, sessioNname, this.getClass().getClassLoader(), true, false, true);
This code compiles in Jdev environment and this method exists in class.
EAR modified as described in thread
    NoSuchMethodError when deploying app EAR
Lib files moved to APP-INF/lib, weblogic-application.xml modifed to
    <?xml version = '1.0' encoding = 'windows-1250'?>
    <weblogic-application xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application/1.1/weblogic-application.xsd" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/weblogic/weblogic-application">
    <prefer-application-packages>
    <package-name>oracle.toplink.*</package-name>
    </prefer-application-packages>
    </weblogic-application>
Unfortunately no success. I've tried putting toplink classes into domain lib folder but message is the same.
Is there any chance to run this application on WebLogic server ?
    Thanks for help

Try restarting admin and managed servers.

  • Migrating to Clean Air

I have a question that I need answered preferably by a Cisco employee or someone who has migrated to Clean Air.  We are thinking of migrating to the Cisco 3500 series APs in our environment.  I was told a while back that Clean Air is only supported as a fork lift upgrade, meaning all APs would need to be 3500 in order to migrate.  I was also told that we could use the 3500s in monitor mode for troubleshooting, but could not intermingle AP models.
I am aware that the code level needs to be at 7.0 to have the features of clean air, but is it true that I can not migrate slowly to replace my present APs?  I am in a pretty large wireless environment with multiple WiSMs.  There is just no way to do this all at once.
    Erick

So will I still be able to see the benefits of the Clean Air technology in a mixed environment?  Interestingly, that is not the information I was given initially. Are there any features in the 7.0 code that I will not have be able to take advantage of or are there any gotchas I need to be aware?  While the benefits of Clean Air may not be recognized with our b/g clients, will the 3500 APs still service b/g clients for network access?
I found this straight from the Cisco documentation regarding the Clean Air design guide.
Mixing CleanAir LMAP and legacy non CleanAir APs in the same installation
Why should I not mix CleanAir LMAP and Legacy LMAP APs in the same physical area? This question pertains to this use case:
“I currently have non CleanAir APs deployed (1130,1240, 1250, 1140) in local mode. I want to add just a few CleanAir APs to increase my coverage/density. Why can’t I just add some APs and get all the CleanAir features?”
This is not recommended because CleanAir LMAPs only monitor the serving channel and all CleanAir features rely on measurement density for quality. This installation would result in indiscriminate coverage of the band. You could well end up with a channel (or several) that has no CleanAir coverage at all. However with the base installation, you would be using all of the channels available. Assuming RRM is in control (recommended) it is entirely possible that all of the CleanAir APs could be assigned to the same channel in a normal installation. You spread them out to try to get the best spatial coverage possible, and that actually increases the odds of this.
You certainly can deploy a few CleanAir APs in with an existing installation. It is an AP and would function fine from a client and coverage standpoint. CleanAir functionality would be compromised and there is no way to really guarantee what the system would or would not tell you regarding your spectrum. There are far too many options in density and coverage which can be introduced to predict. What would work?
AQ would be valid for the reporting radio only. This means it is only relevant for the channel that it is serving, and this could change at any time.
Interference alerts and zone of impact would be valid. However, any location derived would be suspect. Best to leave that out all together and assume closest AP resolution.
Mitigation strategies would be ill-advised to operate because most of the APs in the deployment would not operate the same way.
You would be able to use the AP to look at spectrum from Spectrum Connect.
You would also have the option to temporarily switch to monitor mode at any time in order to perform a full scan of the environment.
While there are some benefits, it is important to understand the pitfalls and adjust expectations accordingly. It is not recommended, and issues arising from this type of deployment are not supportable based on this deployment model.
A better option if your budget does not support adding APs that do not serve client traffic (MMAP) is to collect enough CleanAir APs to deploy together in a single area. Any area that can be enclosed on a map area can contain a Greenfield CleanAir deployment with full feature support. The only caveat on this would be location. You still need enough density for location.

  • Migration questions 7.6 to 7.7

    Hi,
we are at the moment in the process of upgrading to a bigger database server.
Currently our Databases are running on maxdb 7.6.05.09 and as this version is not actual any more there will be need to update.
First Question: For non SAP-Installations should we stick to 7.6 or try to migrate to 7.7 (to stay future-proof)?
    7.6.06.03:
As far as i know going from 7.6.05.09 to 7.6.06.03 is a simple backup and restore process. This actually seems to work well during our tests.
    7.7.06.09:
The "Upgrade if Several Databases Use the Software Installation" process as shown in the Docu: http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/45/818434546140bfe10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm does not seem to work.
For testing purposes we have installed maxdb 7.6.06.03 and 7.7.06.09 on a centos linux 5.4 x64 server using the following commands:
create operating system user sdb and group sdba.
    ./SDBINST -b -profile all -indep_data /srv/sdb/data -indep_prog /opt/sdb/programs -depend /opt/sdb/7606 -o sdb -g sdba
    ./SDBINST -b -profile all -indep_data /srv/sdb/data -indep_prog /opt/sdb/programs -depend /opt/sdb/7706 -o sdb -g sdba
Then we created an empty unicode database using the 7.6 kernel (oltp, default values, default_code set to unicode) users dbm and dbadmin using password test, loading tutorial data).
After that we tried upgrading it using the process described above.
Everything is fine until we reach the final 2 steps:
    /opt/sdb/programs/bin/dbmcli on maxdb>db_online
    ERR
-24622,ERR_AUTOLOADSYSTAB: Automatic loading of the System Tables failed

    ERROR:
    ----------Command----------------
    DROP SCHEMA SYS
    -----------Error-----------------

The following load_systab leads tot he same results.
Any Ideas what is going wrong here?
Might loader be an option to migrate to 7.7?
Probably we will just stick to 7.6 now
    Yours Jörn Menkhoff

Yes. Install of both Database Versions is working well. Both database versions and their corresponding databases work well. Only upgrading 7.6 instances to 7.7 does not finish successful.
I cannot find anything wrong in KnlMsg _ but i am no expert in analyzing this file.I have hust repeated the load_systab and here is what was logged in this time.

  • Aironet 1250 AP

Will the Cisco Aironet 1250 (802.11n) only require an Firmware upgrade after it has been approved for use and gets past draft 2.0? Im thinking of purchasing for testing but want to make sure that being that its in its early stages that the code will only need to be upgraded once the standards have been created.
    Anyone know?
    Thanks!

    Hi Adam,
    Have a look at these answers from Cisco;
    Q. What is the procedure for upgrading radios in the Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Points once future technologies become available?
    A. The Cisco Aironet 1250 Series was designed as a modular and upgradable access point platform. When new radio modules become available, the old radio module may easily be removed and replaced in the field.
    Q. Will Cisco guarantee that the Cisco Aironet 1250 Series can be upgraded to support the final 802.11n standard?
    A. Cisco cannot guarantee that the current Cisco Aironet 1250 IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 standard radio modules can be software-upgraded to support the final 802.11n standard. However, the modularity of the Cisco Aironet 1250 helps ensure that should the final 802.11n standard require a hardware modification, the impact will be limited to just the radio modules, and will not require a change to the access point. The Cisco Aironet 1250 Series radio modules are field-upgradeable and easy to change.
Investment protection: The Cisco Aironet 1250 Series is a powerful, modular and upgradeable platform that provides support for the IEEE 802.11n draft 2.0 standard today. Platform modularity ensures a smooth migration path to emerging higher-performance wireless technologies and future advanced services.

  • Can 1250 APs run as a WGB?

Anyone have any experience with 1250s set up as WGBs or know if it's possible?
I have a large number of 1240s currently running as WGBs, but as we are migrating to 1140/1250/3500x APs we'd like to take advantage of 802.11n on WGB side and replace the 1240 WGBs with 1250s as well.  I've seen the doc on WGBs in a CUWN - but it doesn't seem to say anything about 1250s.
This is for a highly mobile application where the WGB will be moving 5-10Mph and roaming between CAPWAP APs often.

  • How can I Migrate/Split itunes/icloud account for a large family now that they have family sharing

Ok, now that Apple has finally come out with family sharing I need to get things sorted out and I think it is going to be a mess. I have 6 family members (my spouse and 4 children) all sharing/using one itunes account. For parental reasons this made perfect sense. Now with the the advent of family sharing and such we have alot of sorting and migrating to do and I am very unsure how to go about it. Here is what we have.
    Myself - I have a 64GB iPad 3 and a 64GB iPhone 5
    Spouse - 64GB iPhone 5
    Children - x4 16GB iPhone 5C (pink, blue, green, and a yellow)
We have had one itunes account now for several years, we used to have x4 16GB iphone 4's and a 16GB iPod touch 4 so we needed it to be shared at the time. We all have different Game Center ID's and Facetime/iMessages are all setup to the phone numbers (aside from mine which also uses the itunes e-mail). We currently have 1 upgraded icloud account with 200GB of storage on it (love the new tiers). So here are the questions.
    1) How do I go about using and isolating all the devices so they can all use the iCloud storage? Right now if I try and setup backups by device under the what to backup there is no simple "Full Backup" option, they have all the categories separated. I cannot backup my daughters contacts without forcing a merging of them and so on. Same thing with Documents and Data. Would I need to setup a different iCloud account for each device now?
    2) iTunes Music/App purchases. Now that they have a family sharing function I am assuming it would be a good time to separate all the devices (aside from my personal iPad/iPhone). If I understand correctly we need to setup a new itunes account for each and link them with family sharing, does this then allow us to disperse/move items from a singular to the multiple account (at least a one time option to move around) or would it simply be shared off the original account? My daughter for example will be 18 next summer and as such no longer under our care. How do we move her items to her account? She has a lot of purchased Music. Now keep in mind I am talking about an account for someone who was 12 when she had her first device and as such needed to be under her parents.
I just want to state that repurchasing things is NOT an option, and to be frank,  according to Canadian laws pertaining to *licensing* we actually own the product if we paid for it and have the right to transfer the ownership thereof. This issue went through the courts regarding used copies of OEM editions of Microsoft Windows several years ago and they closed the legal *license* vs ownership separation.

Go to appleid.apple.com to manage the ID, sign in and select to the Name, ID and Email Addresses section, then change the birth date on the bottom right.  At the present time you may not be able to enter the correct birth date, but others have had success changing the year to 2000, or the date to 1/1/2001, both of which will have child ID status.

    Hi,
Pl. populate the following open interfaces from your legacy data and then run the 'Autoinvoice Master Program'
    (1) RA_INTERFACE_LINES_ALL
    (2) ra_interface_distributions_all
For open invoices the AR_PAYMENT_SCHEDULES_ALL.STATUS sholuld be equal to 'OP' .
Pl. visit following link also for more info.

  • Migrate all Open Sales Orders From Legacy System (SAP) To SAP System using

    Hi Experts,
I've to Migrate all Open Sales Orders From Legacy System (SAP) To SAP System using Business Objects with a new SALES ORDER DOCUMENT NUMBER referencing the older one.
I'll get all the required data with field in an excel file.
Does any standard transaction exist for it ? Or how to go ahead with it ?
    Thanks and regards,
    Jyoti Shankar

    Hi
If you are checking for CREATE option then Sales Doc Type
For more Info goto SWO1 transaction -> BUS2032 --> DIsplay --> Execute --> There SELECT the method which you want to perform... There you can fine the MANDATORY parameters also....
Or in DISPLAY mode PLACE Cursor on the Required Method and CLick the PARAMETERS button on toolbar...
That will show the MANDATORY parameters...
    Reward if helpful....

  • Migrating open POs and GR/IR clearing account balance

    Hello gurus,
I've got the following problem concerning migration of open POs:
For example: In my source system there is a PO for 10 pcs. of some material. There has been a goods receipt for 5 pcs. (200$ each).
Now, when I import this order and the corresponding purchase order history into my target system (using LSMW), the target system creates the order, a material document for 5 pcs. and an account document.
But of course, our FI-team also has to migrate the balance of the 'old' GR/IR clearing account.
So, the balance in the source system is <> 0 (e.g. 1000$), because the 5 pcs. have been delivered but there has been no invoice receipt yet.
This balance is imported into the new system and then the open orders are migrated, generating an account document and thus, the balance is 2000$ afterwards.
This obviously is not correct, so I am sure that I am missing something, just what?
    Thanks
    Alicia

    Hi,
    1. There will be an open PO uploaded for 5 qty and price 200$ each
    2. Opening Balance of Material - 5 qty and corresponding value to Stock A/c - 1000$
    3. Also there will be Vendor Balances uploaded in the system as 1000$ against the invoice. (If the invoice is still expected then chec with FI Users if they can get invoice form vendor)
if no then do not upload initial stock entry of step2, create a PO of 10 qty and then do GR in system (SAP).

  • [Migrating from 6i to 11G] HTML viewer

    Hi,
There used to be a program to display the output of a report in 6i. When the report was displayed, it used page breaks (ESC characters) to allow the user to view the next page and print a range of pages from a report.
In 11G, these control characters are not interpreted by Internet Explorer:
    >
    height 85
    width 94
before report esc "&l%%0O" esc "&l8D" esc "(s12H"
    after report esc "E"
    after page control(L)
    [End Quote]
So how could I migrate the printer definition files in order to get after page control in 11G?
    Many thanks for your help.

As my old college profession used to say - "The only stupid question is the one that doesn't get asked!" Forms 11g only supports web deployment. This means you will need the OAS with the Forms and Reports Services installed as well. Typically, the setup is three tiered ( 1 server = Database, 1 server = Application Server, 1 server = Infrastructure server ). You don't have to set up the technology stack multitiered - all three could reside on the same server or you could have the all three on the same machine but is not recommended. I would at least have the database on a server seperate from OAS.
Here are a few links to get you started.
    Oracle Documentation
    * Check out: Development Tools - Oracle Forms, Middleware - Applications Server - Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g and Middleware - Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence - Oracle Reports
Since you will be upgrading from Forms 6i to 11g, be sure to visit the Oracle Forms-Upgrading Forms 6i to Forms 11g documentation.
    BTW, welcome to the forums!

After migration, from PC, files are now shared between two user accounts.I have to switch users to access files. How can I combine them into one account?

See Pondini's  Transferring files from one User Account to another, for starters

  • Duplicate user account OR migrate iPhoto/iWeb between users

I've seen this question asked several times before, but have not seen an answer!
So, with as many details as I can muster:
I have, on my computer, 4 user accounts: my admin account, my user account, my boyfriend's user account, and our business account... All separate, keeps things nice and tidy (sort of!).
I have a new and separate project that I'm starting to work on which involves lots of images, and new websites, and new and different stuff that's necessary for the project, but just clutter in any of the other accounts.
Because this project started out as something my man wanted to play around with, all of the beginnings of this are in his iPhoto and his iWeb, and they're well organized.  I've not had luck so far moving the iPhoto and iWeb libraries to a new/blank user and maintaining the organization that I've spent time and attention making right.
He's not so great with technology, and gets very frustrated (and unproductive!) when anything on the computer doesn't work exactly like he expects it to. (When Lion came out and the scrolling went "the wrong direction" he was afraid to use the computer at all for a week, because "everything changed, I don't even know how to use it anymore" that's between us though, personal issure ). So I'd like to keep the user experience the same for him.   I'd like to duplicate his settings, preferences, etc. into a new user for him, and take over his current account to isolate this project.
    So, in summary:
I want to create a new account with the same user experience  as a current  account without having to find and reset all of his settings.
    OR
I want an exact copy of the iPhoto and iWeb from this user account to another one, on the same machine.
    I am currently running OSX 10.7.2, iPhoto '11 9.2.1 and iWeb 3.0.4
Thanks in advance for any help!

That's easy, if you have Time Machine or "bootable clone" backups. (If you don't, you should anyway.  Post back if you need info on them.)
Use Migration Assistant to transfer just that user account from the backups; it will put up a screen saying it can't transfer it under the same name as the existing account, and allowing you to rename it.
Other than having a different name, the transferred account will be identical to the existing one.  Then you can modifiy them separately as necessary.
EDIT:  see Using Migration Assistant on Lion for detailed instructions.  Be sure to un-check the boxes for eveything except that one user account.
