Migration Assessment sheet query.

Hi,
Any hints about how the following sections (Added complexity & Factor) are derived and used in estimation for Stored Procedures, Triggers & Views. Also were the recommend values by Oracle for these sections are good enough to for the estimation or does it need any changes for more accurate estimation. I know the format got messed up, the estimation I am referring to is PTSDBMigrationAssessment.xls sheet from oracle.

the note doesn't help because it describes only a very specific problem when migrating from a rel. < 4.0 to a rel. >= 4.0.

We can Bulit a hierarchy and use it in BW. To built hierarchy you have to sit with Functional people to decide the level and their parts.

Migrated 3.x query not working properly

Hi All,
I am migrating existing 3.x queries in system to BI 7. Some queries are showing strange behaviour like when i am executing them in analyzer the results are perfect. When i am executing same queries on web through query designer or through a web template all the Key figures are coming completely balnk.
What may be the reason?? pls guide.

is a myth. Trial and error and experience is the only solution. Not
only are things vastly different between the database players (even
those that purport to be ANSI compliant), things are even different
amongst the different drivers (ODBC, JDBC, OLE, Native, etc.) that
you can use to go against those databases. Typically Database
differences will simply crash. With Driver differences, anything
can happen, although they are typically more restrictive. They will
often not allow certain keywords or constructs to pass through even
though the DB supports it.

When you say migrate do you mean to use BOBJ for reporting?
If your answer is yes then other questions come into picture.
What type of reports you have in SAP- Adhoc, WAD, Formatted etc?
BusinessObjects is combination of some tools.
WebI is a web base tool and mostly used for Adhoc. You will have to create a Universe on the top of your Bex Query and then WebI Document (WebI Report)
Crystal Reports is used for formatted reporting. You will create connection on the base of your requirement. You can create a Universe or make a direct connection with your InfoProvider and then create your reports. Use MDX functionality to create Reports.
Crystal Xcelsius is used for dash board reporting.
And if your answer is no to above question and you want to migrate your reports to BOBJ like and upgrade without recreating the reports then it is not possible.

Migration of Business Query file

I would like to migrate Business Query files (bqy in BO 6.5) to Live Office (BO XI 3.1).
Is it possible? Is there a procedure for migration?

Generally we select "With Export". However, you can choose without export also. The difference is, when you use With Export, the data source can be recovered in BW 3.5.
Without export wont allow you to recover the datasource from BI7 to 3.5

Contact sheet query

How do I use one photo several times on a contact sheet? It only places it once and I am unable to put more than one copy of the photo in an album so cannot choose several same photos to fill the contact sheet. I have IPhoto version 9.5.1

Use the "Duplicate" command to duplicate the photo as often as you want: select the photo and use the menu item "Photo > Duplicate ⌘D".
Then add these duplicates to the album. They do not need much extra space and you can delete them again after printing.

1. Goto Web Application Designer.
2. Drag and drop the table web-item from left to right.
3. Assign the query to the web-item.
4. Launch in the browser.
5. If you want to launch it using EP then give the URL of the web query to the portal people they would take it as query string and launch it using IE.

How can i Migrate a database from DB2 to SQL Server 2008r2.

Kindly help me letting me know the process for migrating the database from DB2 to SQL Server.
1) Is there any way to migrate a database from DB2 to SqlServer. (My assumption is we can not migrate database, if wrong correct me gurus).
2) Or we can only transfer data from that DB2 database to SQL Server (Using SSIS packages).
Please help me knowing the process to migrate the data from DB2 server to MSSQL server. Even am reading the documents available in the web.

Yolu have posted in the PPC area, and if you do, in fact, have a PPC, you can't migrate to Lion, it only works on intel machines. In addidition, you need to be running Snow Leopard (10.6.x) if you have an intel in order to install Lion.

Inconsistent Query Result in SEM-BCS using Virtual Info Provider

We have just upgraded to BW 7.0 and SEM-BCS 6.0. When we run an existing 3.5 BW query for BCS through the Virtual Info Provider against the basic consolidation cube, we are getting inconsistent results. Sometimes we get the correct result, and other times our results are not rolling up correctly causing an out of balance on our balance sheet query. We did not make any hierarchy changes between the query executions. Has anyone else experienced this? We cannot see the cause of the inconsistency. Everything looks good when running through RSRT DEBUG. Any help on pushing us in the right direction to solve this would be appreciated.

VB code not working in all sheets

we have one workbbok and it haveing 4 sheets.We written VBA code in the workbook at module level by useing SAPBEXon refresh.But whenever we refresh workbook VBA code is working for only opend sheet and not working for other sheets.we want VBA code should work for all sheets when we refresh workbook.

I think you are giving and if condition in macro for sheet ID. Like "If queryID = "SAPBEXq0001" Then". Either you can specify all the sheet/query IDs or remove it and then check.

Hierarchy Restrictions as Per Query

Hi ,
We have one query that is using GL Account InfoObject. We are displaying GL account as Hierarchy in Bex Output. There are 5 hierarchies in BW for GL Account Info Object.
I created one Variable to select hierarchy while running the query. When users select this variable it displays all 5 hierarchies available for GL Account InfoObject. But, for Balance sheet query, only 3 hierarchies are relevant and users only want to see those 3 hierarchies. Rest 2 hierarchies are relevant for Profit and loss queries. Same user when run P/L query he should only see those 2 hierarchies.
So in nutshell, users only want to see relevant hierarchies as per queries. Same user will run these reports, so we cannot restrict hierarchies for users by authorizations.
Is there any way to do this?

SPRO -> SAP Netweaver -> Business Warehouse -> Enhancements -> Restricting the value help in the variables screen.
Once you implement this BADI,
To restrict input help for flat object lists using hierarchies, use method Get_Restriction_Node.

There is number of tables ( big tables with BLOBS) which I want to set up automatically to be migrated with custom migration scripts (replacing e.g. attribute named "FILE" with "TO_BLOB('') AS FILE" ).
So the question is how to open MB file (I think that it should be standard db of some destktop RDBMS) ?

'Calculated Result' (profit/loss) is not displayed in BW query (NW04s)

The hierachy for financial statement item (0GLACCEXT) contains the folowing nodes:
-> Stocholder's Equity
> Profit/Loss current year
> Calculated profit (0COA/0BSRESULT-)
> Calculated profit
> Calculated loss
> Calculated loss (0COA/0BSRESULT+)
When I run a balance sheet query against virtual cube 0FIGL_V11, I don't get any data for nodes 'Calculated profit' & 'Calculated loss'.

Unfortunately, despite the 0BAL_DEPEND information correctly updated, this note 0COA/0BSRESULT+) does not appear.
Everything looks OK on the configuration side...Anyone has an idea what could cause the calculation not to be done ?
