Migration Assistant - 18 hours later still migrating?

I began a Migration from my MacBook to a new iMac 18 hours ago! About 4 hours ago the scroll bar read "1 hour and 54 minutes remaining". It still says that, the scroll bar apears to be dynamic but has not moved in 4 hours.
What's happening? If I try and quit out of Migration Assistant - I receive up a pop-up message suggesting this is not advisable. And yet it appears that something has gone wrong and that the migration is stalled with "1 hour and 54 minutes remaining."
Any thoughts / suggestions?

I used Migration Assistant this weekend (Ethernet cable also) to move everything from an early 2008 MacBook to a new mini.......it first showed 281 hours remaining ( I had about 85 GB to transfer)......it took a while to get going.......but it ended up at more like an hour and a half to actually complete....

After removing the software, I received an error message from iTunes and now my phone has no software and useless for everything including a phone call. Htree - many hours later still getting "invalid query for htree"

I'm using the Pre_Form trigger ftree.populate_tree('HTREE_BLK.TREE4'); and the query you see below. I am still getting "FRM-47313: Invalid query for the hierarchical tree". I must be missing something because I don't see what is wrong with the query.

I tried this select on the SCOTT schema:

Check this select in your case.

Two evenings and 9 hours later, still can't connect! Pls help.

Finally managed to get my TC to connect to my network by changing the security settings of my modem to WPA but the backup was hopelessly slow and slowed my internet connection so much that the connection timed out before pages would load, so decided to connect the TC via LAN for the first backup.
However, after the initial set up, when TC restarts, airport utility fails to find it and the amber light continues to flash. After wasting 9 hours on this so far, I’m about to throw the thing out the window. Any help appreciated.

Yes, I have a 2Wire modem/router running as my main wireless connection and have tried connecting the TC to this via LAN in the <==> connection on the TC so I can run the first backup via LAN, but once I configure the TC and try to restart, the TC fails to reconnect and I get the "Airport Utility was unable to find any Apple wireless devices" error message.
I have all firewalls turned off currently.

Try going to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

You can get a thunderbolt to firewire adapter. You can then get a firewire 400 to 800 cable and put the old computer in target mode. Then you can follow these instructions.

I've cleared almost 30 gig off of my hard drive in the past 2 weeks, and it will temporarily show that in the Get Info box. But hours later, I am still getting a disk full error and all of the memory has disappeared.

Step 1
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below to select it:
~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu. A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
Step 2
Empty the Trash if you haven't already done so. If you use iPhoto, empty its internal Trash as well:
iPhoto ▹ Empty Trash
Then reboot. That will temporarily free up some space.
According to Apple documentation, you need at least 9 GB of available space on the startup volume (as shown in the Finder Info window) for normal operation. You also need enough space left over to allow for growth of your data. There is little or no performance advantage to having more available space than the minimum Apple recommends. Available storage space that you'll never use is wasted space.
To locate large files, you can use Spotlight. That method may not find large folders that contain a lot of small files.
You can more effectively use a tool such as OmniDiskSweeper (ODS) to explore your volume and find out what's taking up the space. You can also delete files with it, but don't do that unless you're sure that you know what you're deleting and that all data is safely backed up. That means you have multiple backups, not just one.
Deleting files inside an iPhoto or Aperture library will corrupt the library. Any changes to a photo library must be made from within the application that created it. The same goes for Mail files.
Proceed further only if the problem isn't solved by the above steps.
ODS can't see the whole filesystem when you run it just by double-clicking; it only sees files that you have permission to read. To see everything, you have to run it as root.
Back up all data now.
Install ODS in the Applications folder as usual. Quit it if it's running.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):

Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The application window will open, eventually showing all files in all folders. It may take some minutes for ODS to list all the files.
I don't recommend that you make a habit of doing this. Don't delete anything while running ODS as root. If something needs to be deleted, make sure you know what it is and how it got there, and then delete it by other, safer, means. When in doubt, leave it alone or ask for guidance.
When you're done with ODS, quit it and also quit Terminal.

FFox 3.6.8. Repeated problem. I close it, then hours later try to relaunch it, and it says it's still running. So I have to End Process in Task Mgr. Also, plug-container keeps running and takes LOTS of memory. Ergo, 3.6.8 is a step backward.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router.
Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Hello - I have tried 3 times today to install iPhone OS 3.0, this last time was the longest I gave the attempt and 2.5 hours later the backup process (before 3.0 is even installed) has been going for 2.5 hours and the status bar is only at 30% done...I have been having a problem backing up, but not with syncing, since iTunes 8.2...what is wrong here? How can I fix this?
3.0 downloaded quickly, extracted quickly, but I cannot get past the initial back up before 3.0 can even be installed on my phone!

I back up at least once a month but I have done some research and the things that typically slow that down are not the case for me (tons of apps, tons of photos...i have maybe 10 apps and 10 photos on my phone right now)...2.5 hours spent and only 30% of the way backed up is crazy though...
