Migration Asst. Problems/questions

Question

Just used Migration assistant to transfer from my PPC G5 to my new Intel MacPro.
Seems to have (mostly) worked. I see my documents and my applications. All looks to be in order. But iTunes and iPhoto show no files at all-- and I have lots!
Is there anything else that likely did not "really" migrate?
Also, my company plans to pass on the old Mac to a new guy starting next week, but here I have another issue-- a message stating: A static IP address on built-in ethernet has been transferred to this new machine. Make sure to not connect your old computer to the same network." That's not gonna cut it. We bought his new Mac "in addition to "not "instead of."

Everything in your Documents folder should have been transferred if you transferred your user account. However, if you are missing stuff here's where most of it would be:

From the Home folder copy the contents of Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Sites.
In your /Home/Library/ folder:
/Home/Library/Application Support/AddressBook (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Application Support/iCal (copy the whole folder)
Also in /Home/Library/Application Support (copy whatever else you need including folders for any third-party applications)
/Home/Library/Keychains (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Mail (copy the whole folder)
/Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist (* This is a very important file which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences.)
/Home/Library/Preferences/ copy any preferences needed for third-party applications
/Home /Library/iTunes (copy the whole folder)
/Home /Library/Safari (copy the whole folder)
If you want cookies:
/Home/Library/Cookies/Cookies.plist
/Home/Library/Application Support/WebFoundation/HTTPCookies.plist
For Entourage users:
Entourage is in /Home/Documents/Microsoft User Data
Also in /Home/Library/Preferences/Microsoft

As for your other problem if you plan to give the old computer to another employee then you should delete the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ folder which contains network preferences, energy settings, etc. Your system administrator will need to re-assign your current IP address to your new computer which has a different MAC address than the old one. He/She will also need to assign a new IP address to the old computer to avoid network conflicts.
You may also need to remove any personal and/or sensitive information that should not be passed along to the next owner of the computer. You can do that after you have done all your file transfers by deleting your old files using Secure Empty Trash (Finder menu.)
You'll also want to change the computer name (use Sharing preference for this) as well as set up a new admin account, username, and password for the new user, log into the new account and delete your old account. You should probably have the new owner do this so he/she can choose their own username and password.
