Migration DB Console 10

Hello,
I've recently migrated a Oracle database 10.2.0.4 Standard on windows 32 bits to 11.2.0.1 Standard. The migration was succesfull, but i forgot migrating the DB Console.
So now I have a DBConsole from 10.2.0.4, and I'd like to know how can I drop it, and create the 11G DBConsole. I've been searching in metalink, but all i've found it's note 278100.1, and I don't really know if applies, as it's meant to drop the DBConsole when the database is still a 10G.
Can anyone help me on this?

Hello,
the service is not running, and it doesn't start. It's linked to the 10.2 Oracle_home, though.
The fact that I'm not sure about is if sysman schema that affects the console is migrated. In that case, just dropping the console ( emca -deconfig, for instance) and installing the 11GR2 version would be enought?

Migrating from DEV to TST in 11g

I have a rpd and web catalog in my Windows DEV environment. I copied the RPD and Web Catalog over to my Linux environment, brought them online and did a refresh of the GUID's. When I log in as "weblogic" I have less permissions than my users, yet all roles and privileges are the same between environments as I did a compare through WL, EM and Answers. Is there some other step I am missing? Also, when I open up the catalog through catalog manager and look at the users, I do not see a weblogic user folder, but see a "My Folder" as a user.

I just finished migrating a client from Google Apps to Microsoft Exchange Online using the IMAP option in the Microsoft Online Services Migration Tool.
I added the mailboxes by creating a CSV file [i.e. GoogleApps(Gmail)_Mailboxes.csv] in the following format:

Additionally, I had to tell the Internet E-mail Mailbox Migration Wizard to use the "Individual Account Credentials" option since I was able to specify each account password in the CSV file when adding the mailboxes to Microsoft Online Services Migration
Tools console.
Just to note, the users had to manually export their contacts to a CSV file and calendars to iCal (ICS) files in order to import those items into Outlook.
I hope this will benefit others since Microsoft doesn't seem to have a custom, specifically defined migration strategy for this scenario. With Google Apps being in direct competition with BPOS/Office365, I assumed that Microsoft would have a simple
strategy using something like ActiveSync to facilitate the migration of email, contacts, calendar entries, etc. Hopefully we'll see something along those lines become available in a future release of the migration tools.

Cfexecute powershell timeout

First let me say that I am a novice when it comes to Powershell and cfcexecute, though I've been using CF on and off since version 4.
I have a PowerShell/Migration shell console file script that updates email passwords on our MSOnline instance. It works fine if I run it from the run or command line in Windows, but from cfexecute in Coldfusion 9.0.1 it times out. If I set the timeout to 0 the timeout is ignored, but I'll have no idea if it ran. The odd thing is that the code actually does its job, but it leaves both the cmd.exe and powershell.exe processes running and I never get a return code regardless of how long I set the timeout. I have tried all of the /c, 2>$1, exit code, etc., I could find, but none of them seem to work.
I have also tried running the console script from a bat file and directly running Powershell command, but I get the same result when using cfexecute. Besides being over 87MB per instance Powershell, I really don't want to leave a bunch of orphaned processes running.
I'm sure there are better ways of doing this. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

SBS 2008 - SBS Console and AD errors after migration to new hardware

Hi there,
I'm trying to work out how to fix some of the errors and random behaviour I'm experiencing with the SBS 2008 console and AD related matters since I had to quickly migrate SBS 2008 to new hardware using Windows Server Backup after a failure of the old server.
In my haste to get our email and ftp services back up and running (which use Smartermail and Filezilla respectively instead of Exchange etc) I overlooked the fact that the new server had 3 NICs installed and not one and so restored SBS 2008 and loaded up new
drivers for those and other hardware that had changed (such as the graphics card and mobo. I have since removed the two additional NICs by disabling them on the mobo).
Whilst I got the server up and running again with email and ftp services, even though I currently don't use any AD related stuff directly I have since noted that if I try to say view a list of users that I had previously created via the SBS console, more often
than not it will show no users, and then randomly it will (but when you do see them you can't edit or delete them. I'm aware that I have probably broken a number of golden rules in doing this 'migration' but having a metaphorical gun to my head meant that
I rushed things out of desperation.
Common errors that I experience generally will say things like 'Current security connect is not associated with an Active Directory domain or forest' if I try to list users, or DC not found for domain "xyz.local' etc. I have been searching the net and
trying out some things to fix this but I'm like a dog chasing its tail as I'm not so clued up on server related issues as I am with workstation problems, so if anyone could at least point me in the right direction I would be very grateful. If you require any
info from me (eg diag logs etc) I will be happy to provide them!

SSMA Console - Migrating Oracle 11g to SQL 2012

I have two questions related to migrating data from Oracle to SQL.
1) I have an Oracle database with several schemas. At the time of the connection SSMA loads all objects for all schemas presented in Oracle, which takes 1 hour to finish. Is there a way at the time of the connection to limit it to load only
the schema I want to work?
2) In case I want to extract, for example, 2 tables only. How do I prepare the script below to accept another table name?
I tried using a comma and repeating the command "$OracleSchemaName$.MySecondTable" but, didn't work.

Hi Rick,
I think what you are referring to is the "Save Migration Definition" button in LCM within the Shared Services web.
Basically, any thing that you do within Shared Services LCM utility (GUI) can be saved to .xml file for reusing the migration properties another time.

The jar used to deploy the same works fine with weblogic9 but gives the below error after migrating to Weblogic 10.3

After more investigations I have more details:
1. the error does not occur if the base table does not have rowSelection=”single”
2. the error does not occur if the base table has rowSelection=”single” but the popup is raised with showPopupBehavior
3. the error only occurs when the base table has rowSelection=”single” and we call the popup as inline popup (taskFlow with jsf page)
I could not reproduce the error on a newly created application in Jdevelope 11.1.2.1, it only happens to migrated applications.
We can not give up to rowSelection=”single” because of master-detail structures.

Our dev team have been using pointbase db to create all objects related to our
portal app. Now we wish to export it to Oracle db. We were able to sucessfully
export objects (eg. user profile, navigation etc) created via EBCC to Orcale but
we need to know how do we do this for objects (mapping of portlets to portal page,
user etc) created via Admin console ? Thank in advance

This is a common question, and the answer usually does not make people happy.
As you pointed out, the solution for migrating EBCC data between dev-staging-production
environments is simple. The data sync mechanism handles this well. The problem
is with the data that you generated with the JSP based tools. Currently, there
is no other supported way than to replay your changes in the JSP tools in the
new environment.
That being said, it is a high priority task within BEA to provide a better solution.
Check periodically with this newsgroup or dev2dev.bea.com for news concerning
this solution.

Mail refuses to launch. Gives the console message: MailAccounts were initialized before migration from V1 to V2!

Tax day, so I upgraded to Yosemite.
When I launch mail, the mail "updater" program comes up and says that it's initializing then the UI goes away. The mail UI program never starts.

It seems that if the upgrade is not needed, then it shouldn't fail. Any ideas as to what to do next?

I faced exactly the same problem. Here is what I did to handle this
open your Terminal.app
go to your Library folder
cd Library/
rename your Mail folder into some kind of backup
mv Mail _Mail
start your Mail.app which should start by now
configure your email accounts (guess they can be imported somehow, but I was faster simply reconfiguring them)
"Import Mailboxes" from your backup folder "Library/_Mail" as described in Mail (Yosemite): Import or export mailboxes
If you can't access Library/_Mail from Mail copy it from your Terminal to any accessible location eg
cp -RP _Mail/ /Users/<your_username>/Downloads/
if the import went well you might delete your Mail backup folder via Terminal
rm -fdr _Mail
Not a perfect solution since it includes some manuell actions and sorting but at least an option.

Migrate of SCCM Console connection

Hey,
I installed a second MP and additional SMS_Provider to one of my SiteServer to be able to connect via SCCM AdminConsole to it.
Unfortunately it is not working :P
What I already checked is the existence of WMI keys Root\SMS\site_<site code> with wmiexplorer and Remote Activation permission to site server and my new SMS_Provider server.My User has an assigned role and admin console version is supported
by site server (it is working if I connect to my Site Server).
Network connectivity is given, too (since I am running local on new SMS_Provider server)
I restarted the Site server the new SMS_Provider Server and the SMS_Agent Host & WMI service on both servers.

Hi,
Yes I know MP has nothing to do with Admin Console but this was what I did at once (whereas MP seems to work fine) - I just wrote to have you informed about the whole process which was done.
Well on newly installed SMS_Provider server I run the Admin Console and defined to connect to the FQDN of the new SMS_Provider server.
From my point of view in installation log of SMSP everything is (nearly) fine. :)
I received the following warnings and errors during the installation process:
WARNING: Failed to initialize COM to get SDK Providers. It might already be initialized. return code: 80010106.
ERROR: Site component Manager did not respond after one minute, giving up.
ERROR: Failed to stop service SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER, Win32 Error =0
ERROR: Failed to stop SMS_EXECUTIVE, Win32 Error=0
ERROR: Failed to get SMS_Identification class object.
But none of them caused the setup to stop.

Distribution Point migration status in CM12 console

Hi,
We are using sccm 2012 r2 cu2. we are in middle of migration.
We have in sccm 2007 under secondary site server name assd1 it contain MP and DP role.
Under ASSd1 server i was created one of the distribution point server and copied all the package to the new server assd2.
I created this new distribution point last week.
Today I gathered data from sccm 2007 to sccm2012.
Previously I did the same almost 5 servers and after sccm2012 administration-->under site hierarchy--> shared distribution point it shows. after that i will migrate to sccm2012 DP
but this server not showing. but when i saw migctrl.log i can see the log
The DP assd2.xxx.org is eligible for upgrade
but not showing under administration-->under site hierarchy--> shared distribution

Issue got resolved..

Essbase Studio Console - Cannot migrate existing 9.3.1 Catalog file to 11.1

I have been using Essbase 9.3.1 wanted to migrate to Essbase Studio (11.1.1). I tried to use EIS Catalog Migration tool for migrating 9.3.1 catalog files to Essbase 11.1.1, but unfortunately the "Migrate" button in the "EIS catalog Migration" dialog is disabled (although I fetched the models). Does anybody know why the Migrate button is disabled? So, I gave up migrating existing models and created brand new Minischema, Cube Schema and Essbase model from scrach. I am following the Essbase Studio User Guide. When I was creating Essbase model, I had to create Hierarchies for all dimensions because the model accepted only Measures/Measure Hierarchies and Hierarchies. Is this correct?
Also, I want to add attribute dimensions? Since I only have hierarchies, the selecting member as Attributes instruction doesn't make any sense. Can anybody help please?

The method you have given is definitely the best one, just treat it like a business rule migration from one server to another.
