Migration didn't bring over my latest iWeb work...

I recently bought a Samsung 1TB hard drive, which I was planning to use as my main drive and my old drive would serve as a back-up. So I formatted the drive and installed Leopard with no problems. I found the Mac migration to be a breeze, and it seemed to flawlessly bring over all of my data and settings... except... when I opened up iWeb to make an adjustment to my current page, all that came up was a very old version of my page that I have updated several times since then. I thought... "oh, a slight hiccup in the transfer. No matter." So I rebooted the OS onto the old drive, where everything was current and updated, and when I launched iWeb, lo and behold, the same thing. Old data. No sign of my many updates. I checked the boards and learned about the Domain file, and checked it on both drives, but it just brought up the old data again and hasn't seemed to help me very much so far. Luckily, the full updated page is online, but that doesn't do me any good if I can't continue to work on it with iWeb. I don't really want to go through all that time again, and frankly, I'm also a little confused as to what's going on here.
Any comments or questions on this would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah. Is there any way to back-up iWeb content in MobileMe?

How long before running the Migration Assistant did you open and use the original version? Can you go back to the old system and see if there's another domain.sites2 file somewhere on the drive that might be the more recent version? A long shot maybe but worth pursuing.
Otherwise you'll have to recreate your site from scratch. Paragraph 2.3 of this iWeb FAQ site has tips on how to use some of the files in the published site in the rebuilding: http://iwebfaq.org/site/iWebBackupretrieve.html
As far as backing up in the future I've created an Automator script to backup the iWeb folder that contains the domain file. It's based on the original script created by Varkgirl site. It will copy the iWeb folder to your Documents folder. You can download it from Toad's Cellar.

Migration Assistant not completing over wireless from PC

I have a new Macbook Air and am trying to complete the Migration Assistant from a Dell XPS PC (laptop). The process will begin just fine, but says it will take 9, then10, even up to 11 hrs., etc. then doesn't wind up working even after those time frames have passed.
I have a very fast internet connection, so I am not sure why this would be happening. Is there a way to use an ethernet cable instead of wifi? I tried connecting the two computers with an ethernet on a whim but my Mac didn't reconginze the PC, and vicea versa.
I'd like to avoid manually bringing over my PC files if at all possible.... Any suggestions will be much appreciated!!

Did you read through this knowledge base article on migration assistant for PC to Mac transfer? You can use a wired network in addition to wireless.

Installing SLeopard-using Time Capsule to bring over needed files/programs

I am planning on picking up Snow Leopard tomorrow and would like to do a clean install on my Macbook Pro. I have backed up the whole thing on my Time Capsule. Can I simply install the brand spanking new OS on my Macbook Pro, and drag over any files, apps I'd like from Time Capsule? Is this making it more difficult than it has to be? I know I can simply upgrade and install the new OS on my machine, but I would like to start fresh, and do a little spring cleaning, bringing over whatever I need, and leaving what I don't behind.

I am venturing to guess, that similar to Leopard, you will be able to use Migration Assistant to restore files from your Time Machine backups to your newly installed Snow Leopard computer.

Perhaps those apps require a newer version of iOS than is compatible with your iPod.

It sounds like there's something amiss with either your ID or the new system you're using. I've been using iTM on a Win7 and OSX SL system and have been able to upload and download to the Cloud on both. I've been using them interchangeably for the last week or so.
I would also recommennd giving Apple support a call, to see what they say.

I have had installed Photoshop CC Trial Version, but had to re-boot the system, so I lost the Software. After re-installing the Creative Cloud Desktop appeared just a White window. I tried to delete the file of OOBD in AppData but no reaction. It still appears as a clear window.

Hi,
If you have the suite then you have to download the whole suite otherwise the Serial Number will not work, if you only download Photoshop. Once you download the suite you can choose to only install Photoshop and use the Serial number you have.

If you get the message:Setup" can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer , You can follow Fix the “App can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer” Error in Mac OS X .
**You can change it to MAC App store and identified developers afterwards.

Bringing over Custom EQ settings in iPod

When updating your iPod from iTunes, is there a way that the iPod can bring over the EQ's that you've customized in iTunes?
For me this would be wonderful. The EQ selections in the iPod are very basic and could use some true graphic equalizing tweaking.
Can this be done?

That's what I thought but in my iTunes what I have done was take the EQ setting 'R&B' and tweaked it to my liking and then saved it as Custom 1.
Then when I updated my iPod, the EQ setting in it is still on 'Rock'.
So does it truly bring over the EQ settings set in iTunes?

Can't find my latest iWeb on my hard drive to make changes

I can no longer find my latest iWeb version of a web site launched on GoDaddy for about 2-3 years now.
It has been updated on the web, but I can't find it on my hard drive.
Help?

Do a spotlight search to find your domain.sites file. If this does not work, then download something called Find Any File and this might find it.
The domain.sites file lives under your User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Note that it is the User Library and NOT your System Library.
However, if you can't find the file and you did not make a backup of it, then you are looking at re-building your site in iWeb from scratch or using another sotware programme to re-create it. Perhaps using another programme now might be best, as iWeb is no longer supported or updated by Apple.
Have a look at RapidWeaver, Sandvox, Freeway Pro/Express 6, Flux 4, Quick n' Easy Website Builder and the new app being developed by Rage Software, EasyWeb. You can download free trials of most of these so you can try before you buy.
