Migration Failed, Manual Copied Library, Now all 'Date Added' is the same

Any clue on how to copy over my old library off my old laptop so that it preserves the "Date Added" file attributes? I remember my songs in time and when I added them, without that, I am lost when trying to find tracks.

I've written a script called DeDuper which can help remove unwanted duplicates. See this thread for background.
In principle you can hold down shift, use File > Display Exact Duplicates, sort on Date Added and delete everything added on the date in question. What happens next depends of whether there are multiple copies of each file (in which case send the deleted files to the recycle bin) or the duplicates refer to the same set of original files (in which case don't recycle the files). If you're not sure explore the circumstances carefully or use my script, but heed the warning about the potential for multiple paths. (I'm working on a new more robust version but it may take some time.)

the update to iOS 6.1.5 has been on my itouch for a couple of months so i decided to just go with it without any knowledge on how to properly do it. All i did was delete my apps and thats only because theres nothing special with them. Hi, if this is in regards to your library simply open up itunes and do the following steps:
Click File
Scroll down to "show duplicates"
A list will then appear of your duplicate song titles.
Be sure to CAREFULLY review each song to make sure it is a duplicate ( as I have some music that is the same song but live, acoustic etc...)
Proceed to manually delete each song from the list and leave alone any song that you wish to keep.

Might be corrupted preferences ..
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.desktop.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac and try changing the desktop photo.

HT5767 My mail all of a sudden would not allow me to delete messages in my inbox saying, "couldn't be copied to "Messages" because an item with the same name already exists." Found it duplicates the message I wanted deleted in trash.

Still using the @mac.com mail address and up to date on everything, but have not gone to Maverick. All of a sudden Mail wouldn't let me delete. Said that title of email was already in trash. And sure enough it was. Clicking on the help button on the message gets Nothing.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to performunauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. You are right by your approach to update from PSA to ODS as u have wrritten before. Just got to PSA tree select the PSA request and choose update Immediatly or scedule for update.
(and if u have 0FI_GL_4 but u r not using it ..it is fine. I was telling that in case u have that and you are trying to use somethin with 0FI_AP_4)

Contact Apple (call AppleCare) and for a nominal fee the discs will be replaced. You can do that or purchase Snow Leopard (still availble from Apple for $20) and do an erase and install of OS X making the machine like a new machine.

Isabellasf have you ran the installation files which were downloaded? By default they are downloaded to the download folder within your User folder.

No, I did not do any updates between the time that the files were viewable and when they were not. I was actually without an internet connection for a few days when the problem started. I reported the bug to apple and have since been contacted by them asking for a few sample images so they can figure out the problem, so I'm hoping they come up with an answer for me.
