Migration for CFM1.1 to ERP 2005

We have implemented CFM 1.1
We will be also migrating from CFM 1.1 to ERP 2005. Please let me know whether this CFM related conversion can be done afterwards .. after normal migration.

Dear,
The BANK/CFM is included in the EA-FINSERV extension in ERP2005 version so the technical upgrade will convert the addon to this extension set. (from technical point of view) About further / post-upgrade activities at the application,unfortunatel I have no further advices on that. Please try to get an advice from someone from BANK/CFM team.

Load Balancing ITS on ERP 2005 displayed through EP 7.0

We are having trouble setting up our Cisco ACE load balancer for ITS on ERP 2005 displayed through EP 7.0. The help documentation is a little confusing as to whether ITS does its load balancing by itself, or with ERP 2005, you need an external load balancer. Does ITS on ERP 2005 provide load balancing?
If it does not, we need an external load balancer and are trying to figure out how to configure the ACE tool for that, particularly around session persistence. Since we are also doing reverse proxy, we would need to use session cookies to key the sticky round-robin load balancing off of. The documentation is a little vague on what the cookie variable is for ITS sessions. Can anyone point me to detailed instructions on how to do this?

Report RFKLBU10: Missing Parameter for Logical filename in Release ERP 2005

Hello Experts,
Report RFKLBU10 in Sap Release 4.6c hat a parameter "Old dataset logical name".
The new version of this report in SAP Release ERP 2005 there is no such parameter.
Is this a SAP-Bug ?

There are no Export or Print events accessible for the viewer
Since it sounds like you are creating the reportdocument object in your click event, the settings on this object become out of scope on successive postbacks executed by other events.
to get around this without major changes, you can place your "report" object in session in this event and retrieve it from session on successive postbacks. This should solve your problems around navigation, printing and exporting. What you will need to do is check if the session object exists (usually in page_load or page_initialze) and if so, retrieve it from session and bind it to the viewer's reportsource. If the session object does not exist, then do nothing (ie you have not clicked your button yet that retrieves the parameter values from session and loads the report). Also, in your click event you can check if the report session object exists and if so, remove it so that it can be re-created with your new parameter values (ie i'm assuming the only time you want to set parameter values is in this event).

ALE: setting up reduced IDoc type for use in 4.7 and ERP 2005 problem

I need to set up a reduced HRMD_A message type and then use it to send HR data from a 4.7 system to an ERP 2005 system.
To define the reduced type in both systems I use transaction BD53 (Idoc reduction maintenance).
The problem is that the transaction offers HRMD_A06 as the basic type on a 4.7 system and HRMD_A07 on ERP 2005. Thus i cannot set up identical definitions.
I suppose I should 'step back' to A06 at the ERP 2005 system somehow, but where to look for?..

The table is maintained with BD69 - Assignment of message type to IDOC type.
In my case I added one line with values:
Message type: {my reduced message type}
Basic type: HRMD_A06
Extension: {my HRMD_A06 extension}
Also it looks like there is another (better?) way of making the assignment. It is done with WE82, described in sap help here http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/dc/6b7db043d711d1893e0000e8323c4f/frameset.htm and also discussed in this topic.

Hardware requirements for SAP ERP 2005 using ECC 6.0

Hello everyone,
i am already new and need information about the min. hardware requirements for a SAP ERP 2k5 System using ECC 6.0 with IDES 7.10.
I read the Master Guides about ERP, but i am not even more clever than before.
The OS is MS Windows 2k3 Server EE.
The last information i had from another one to this configuration is:
1 dual-core cpu (? Ghz)
4-6 GB RAM
300 GB HDD
Does it fit? Can anyone help me out?

If it's an IDES system you want to set up, HDD space may be the bottleneck. It's sufficient for installation, but you may run out of disk space since note <a href="https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1013391">1013391</a> states

Since IDES is for education and training purposes only the rest should be sufficient.
I'm running an ERP 6.0 IDES system (32 bit) on a single core, 3.2 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 250 GB System and 500 GB SAP/DB HDD with pretty good response time.

I am interested in the Pro's and Con's regarding SRM as an add-on to ERP 2005.
- what is the limitations? Disadvantages?
- What kind of business situations are suited for this scenario?

Hi,
I'm a current user of the add-on.
My organization had an ITS implementation for Purchase Requisition in 4.6 and decided to migrate to ECC6.0 with SRM 5.5 instead of maintaining the old development (I joined at testing phase).
Our scenario is currently limited to shopping carts and customizing was intentionnally kept at minimum level.
The go live happened in November last year.
We have 600+ users among which 100 approvers.
My feedback:
--- integration with HR was not an easy job (mainly because we had Organization Management in our previous implementation).
- we had a big performance issue because our users had been spammed internally by PSM module for 3 years (the system didn't manage to display mailbox with 10'000+ documents, solved by cleaning...),
- given that previously users were creating PR the transition was not really smooth (they re-order similar tings all the time),
- still struggling with an address issue (address on each line of the printed PO if generated from more than one shopping cart). In theory I understand the back-end can be fed with whatever we want but we're not there yet (we may miss MM expertise though).
- quite a lots of notes to apply.
+ it enabled us a direct connection to PSM (Public Sector Management) which is really good in our context (custom n-step approval, use of a BADI),
++ we plan some B2B connection, I already tested it and it was really cool (you shop on another web site, and when you check out there is almost a PO).
++ OSS support good.

OS-DB migration for Oracle

Hello,
I am doing an os-db migration of ECC 5.0. I have one query,
1. My source database is on Oracle 9.2
2. I want to build my target on Oracle 10g.
After exporting the database from Oracle 9i using R3load can i import it directly into Oracle 10g ?
If yes what care I have to take, Are there any post installation steps which needs to be performed after importing the data e.g converting long column to lob etc.
Has anyone tried doing this.Please reply me if someone has performed this kind of migration.

Yes i have done some upgrades from 4.6c to ERP 2005 (with unicode migration) and in this scenario the LONG columns will be converted to LOBs (as i already mentioned, because i have used a R3load 7.00).
A good example for the "automatic" LONG-LOB migration with R3load 7.00 is the table VBDATA. You can test it very easily by exporting and importing it with a R3load 7.00 - the column VBDATA type "LONG RAW" will be converted to BLOB.
I have not faced any performance issues relating to the LOB migration, but this depends on your tables and how they will be used. The performance problems depends on caching or if the LOBs are in-line or out-line ...
For example the column VBDATA is cached and stored in-line:
> SQL> select COLUMN_NAME, CACHE, IN_ROW from ALL_LOBS where TABLE_NAME = 'VBDATA';
> VBDATA YES YES
