Migration from CRM 4.0 to 2011

Hi all,
I migrated a CRM 4.0 ogranization into CRM 2011. In the 2011 version many customization and custom applications are failing. Wanted to know, whether there is any tool testing Organization in
CRM 2011. Or i will have to manually verify each screen, Workflow and each operation.
Thanks in Advance

Hi Paul,

  • Migrating from CRM 2011 on-premise to Online

    Hi there,
We currently run CRM 2011 on-premise, we have 5 users and minimal customisations so far. We would like to migrate from On-premise to Online as we have this available through our Office 365 plan. Is there a migration tool available from Microsoft, or a manual
migration guide? We have searched for info online and can only find 3rd party tools that provide this function that are very pricey for such a small company.
Are we stuck doing this manually or is there a way?
    Steve

For the migrating from CRM on premise to online has two parts:
    1.Customization
You can export the total solution as following:
    Go to Settings->Customization->Export Solution
Click Next->Choose what you want to export.
    Click Next to export.
Then you can go to another CRM Online instance, go to Settings->Solutions->Import solution.
    2. Data
For the out of box function of CRM 2011 Online, we does not support all data export one time. But we support all data export for one entity one time as following:
Let us take example that you want to export data for Account and Contact record types.
    1. Create a view of all fields for the record type Account.
    a. Go to accounts Grid and click on Create personal view
Click Edit Columns in the dialog that pops up and then click Add Columns.
Click the checkbox in the header to select all columns. (This will export data for all columns, some of which may not be importable)
Click ‘ok’ and then Click ‘Save’ on the Ribbon in Advanced find dialog. It will prompt you for name of the view .Provide the name for the view.
    2. Navigate to view (Account) and Export the data in Static Excel format.
    a) Go to Accounts Grid.
    b) Navigate to Accounts view.
    c) Click Export to Excel.
    d) Select “Static worksheet with records from all pages in current view”.
    e) Click Export and save the file. (Account.xls)(The records that are exported will be based on the record for which you had privileges).
    f) Save the file in CSV /XML format from Excel. (Account.csv)

  • Data Migration from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2007

    Hi experts,
we have transaction data to be migrated from CRM 4.0 to 2007, the transactions are having followup transactions, how can we transfer the transactions along with follow up transactions to CRM 2007, can any one share the documents, i know it can be done with idoc meathod. can any one suggest what are the pre requisites and what is the role of CRM consultant here.

Okay the only question is that is your CRM 40 system and the CRM 2007 separate systems?  If so then you can use the XIF IDOC adapter to setup the transfer between the two systems.
Now if the CRM 40 system is being upgraded to CRM 2007 then you don't have to "transfer" data.
As far as the CRM consultant role, you better understand basic IDOC setup and be able to do data mapping between the older and newer version.  Luckily you shouldn't have a lot of mapping work as 2007 IDOC structure is a refinement of 4.0.
For more XIF information search the CRM general and framework forum.
    Take care,

  • Data Migration from CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0

    Hi Friends,
We are into a re-implementation on CRM 7.0. The old system was on CRM 5.0.
Since this is not an upgrade, the data will not copied over from the old system into the new system.
So, now I would like to know how to migrate data (master/transaction) from CRM 5.0 into 7.0.
I have read that we can make use of BAPI/LSMW/IDOC/XIF adapters to push info into CRM.
But, the customer wants all the historical data to be in the new system.
I think master data can be handled....  but how to migrate the transaction data?.... i mean the number ranges/document flow.. and other relationships.. how can we maintain the same links into the new system?
If it was a migration from legacy system into the SAP CRM, we could have gone ahead with new number ranges etc... but this migration is from SAP to SAP.
Also, we will have ECC6.0 connected to CRM 7.0. ANy additional things to be taken care of when the connection is live in DEV/QA/PROd instances?
    Any pointers to this ?

    Hi Gary,
As per my understanding, your data migration involves quite complex scenarios covering the CRM and ERP box. As the customer needs the old data to be present in the new implementation, the old data needs to be migrated from the CRM 5.0 to CRM 7.0. For the migration to happen, you need to setup the customization (like the number ranges,Condition Data Tables, etc ). Then only you can proceed with the data migration. Also, you need a proper backup plan as this involves proper backup of the data.
Once the setup is complete, you need to configure the ECC6.0 with the CRM7.0 system. Here also, you need to do a lot of settings and performing the Initial loading of the Adapter Objects. But before you proceed with the entire operation, the entire system landscape must be properly defined with appropriate settings.
My recomendation is to take help of SAP Consultants and data migration experts as they are the best persons to guide you on this. Also it would be great if you can go through the SAP Best Practices documents which are best repository documents to guide you on this.
Have a look on this link for an overview of the CRM Data Migration

    Hope this helps.

  • BP , Activitites - Migration from CRM 4.0 to CRM 2007

    Hi Experts,
We are planning to mirgrate the following Data from CRM 4.0 to CRM 6.0
    1)  Business Partner with relationship and Attachment
    2)  Activities
What could be the best approach to migrate?
How can we record the BP data with relation from the legacy system ?
The detailed answers will be appreciated ...
    Thanks in Advance
    Regards,

    1) Extract all the partner data using either z-programs or XIF outbound adapter.  As you are loading them in you will need to maintain/map the "legacy partner number".
    2) Extract all the activities using a z-program/XIF outbound adapter.  Convert in the new activities using the mapping from step #1.
In either case you will have quite of bit of work to do.  This should keep you busy for a couple months.
    Take care,
    Stephen

  • Migrating from CRM 2011 on-premises to CRM Online (Attachments)

I need to move our CRM 2011 on-premises to CRM Online. I got my customizations into CRM Online. My next task is to get the data there. Some are easy but I am not sure how to handle
    1) Interconnected records. For instance a case is connected to an account, emails, products, etc. I figured I just will
        a) export and then import leads first as accounts are connected to leads
        b) export and then import emails and products
        c) export and then import cases
However, how to I assure that all these records are still having the same connections (case 100 connected to email 501 and 502, etc)
    2) Some records have files associated with them. The biggest one is emails that have attachments. How can I get these emails into CRM Online including attachments?

Thanks. Scribe is way too expensive. SSIS might be an option I need to explore more. Any opinion about Microsoft Dynamics CRM Instance Adapter? I am reading some articles about it and consider giving it a try. However, I can't even find the download despite
    a lot of searches.

  • Document Migration from CRM to SAP Content Server

We are going live with SAP CRM 7.0 next week. CRM team configured some of applications like ITSM, Change Request Management and Transport Request database also as part of implementation.
We got last minute requirement that CRM team would like to go-live with current configuration with current configuration and eventually they would like to migrate all documents to Content server.
We do not have content server in place yet and planning to implement sometime in Feb.  I am trying to explore ways how we can export existing documents created in CRM and migrate to Content server and link it.
    Any ideas/Suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Miral.

In which repository are the documents currently stored in CRM? Please see if Note 688241 on 'Relocating large SAP Content Server Repositories' could be of any assistance to you.

  • Migration from CRM On Demand to On Premise

    Hi,
Anyone can throw some light on the migration of transactional data from CoD to On premise (7.0 and above)?
    Regards,
    Aneesh

    Hi Gauri,
As far as I know there are custom programs which need to be developed to migrate data from on demand to on premise solution.
This is what we had done when we migrated to on premise.

  • Migrating from SBS 2011 to Windows Server 2012R2 Standard with 365

Im looking to move SBS 2011 to Server 2012R2 standard and with a 365 migration as well.
    Im thinking
    BPA for AD (health check)
Add the Server2012R2 as a DC
    Ensure replication
    Move DHCP
    Change DNS
Now this is where I get lost, now Im lost to use either dirsync or add essentials service, I have gone for standard and 30 cals with the option  as I have 28 users and the essentials service would make everything quite nice for remote access and backups
etc....  however I don't know whether to just use dirsync with password replication instead ?
Currently Im aiming towards getting the dc up and running then enabling essentials on the dc but I dont know how it will effect SBS and having essentials on the same network and sync'ing people to the cloud ? So Should I use DirSync on a different server
instead to sync up to azure ?
Finally with 365 I have only ever done a migration involving an export of pst's from an exchange box and then on a new domain with new pc's and reimport the pst's on the user accounts in outlook.
However I have read when migrating to 365 was using exchange 2010 there was a application
to move everything across however you needed an ssl cert iirc ? so I dont know how it works now since the nice new dashboard upgrade (assuming the tool has been updated like dirsync)
along with the above how does AD now know where exahcnge if you use the migration app with an ssl cert and is it a case of still running the 365 config tool to configure each user to look at their mail in the
cloud ? Also is it a good idea to enable essentials from the start of the 2012r2 dc for replication top 365 or to use dirsync ?
then finally when replications is all good start transferring the FSMO roles over to the new DC and demote and remove the SBS server
I have seen (below) but i dont think it covers this scenario and I cant be the only person in this situation =\ ?

I’m a little confused with the description. Did you mean that set up DC (Windows Server 2012 Standard) and
then install the Windows Server Essentials Experience role? If so, when you migrate, please refer to the article:
Migrate from Previous Versions to Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials or Windows Server Essentials Experience

    Hello,
for migration into CRM I would suggest the 'XIF-Interfaces'; these are interfaces provided in CRM for connection to external systems. I'm not sure if this will cover all objects mentioned above, but at least some of them should exist.
Some information about existing interfaces can be found in the integration repository under http://ifr.sap.com/index.html; from the start screen first select 'Enter the repository' and then have a look under 'generic components' and 'SAP CRM'.

  • IDoc for BP migration is in error on transferring from CRM 4.0 to 7.0

    Hi,
We have a requirement to migrate Business Partners from CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0. We are using the message type CRMXIF_PARTNER_SAVE_M for this purpose. The IDocs are generated correctly from CRM 4.0 and carry the correct data. The status of Idoc in CRM 4.0 is set to 03.
However, on checking in CRM 7.0 system, we found the IDocs to be in error with a status of 51. The IDocs fail validation on the Birthdate field - where first 3 digits are replaced by spaces.
Any suggestions on how to correct the birthdate field? There are no changes being done to the data during mapping on either the inbound or outbound site.

  • Migrate from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011

Are there any Technets or other Microsoft documentation on migrating from Server 2003 (no Exchange, single server) to SBS 2011?  I understand it is possible, but I would like confirmation and some documentation before purchasing the appropriate hardware

    Hi Doug,
In general, the migration is the similar with migrating process from SBS 2003. In addition, also have main
    difference.
“The main difference is that you don’t have to remove the source and that you have to follow the migration
instructions as the SBS migration wizard will not launch.”
You can get above description from following similar thread. Please refer to.

  • Server 2012 and Exchange 2013 Migration from SBS 2011

Server UpgradeI'm migrating an SBS 2011 server to a new machine with Server 2012 R2 and a Hyper-V server running Exchange 2013. I've set up the new machine, all is running well in a test environment. I now want to migrate the old server to new. These are the steps I'm going to take and I wanted advice for any modifications or errors. 1. Demote DC on Server 2012 that I set up to test. 2. Join new Server 2012 to existing SBS 2011 domain. 3. Promote Server 2012 to DC. 4. Join the Hyper-V Server 2012 to the Server 2012 domain.5. Migrate Exchange 2010 on the SBS 2011 Server to Exchange 2013. 6. Transfer FSMO role from SBS 2011 Server to Server 2012 DC. I'll copy shared data files using robocopy. The only things I'm not sure about is the FSMO order, when to do that and the fact that I already have Exchange 2013 installed in the test...
This topic first appeared in the Spiceworks Community

I recently acquired a SuperMicro chassis that has a SAS2 expander backplane. It has SFF-8087 ports on it.http://www.supermicro.com/manuals/other/BPN-SAS2-846EL.pdfI made a post on another forum and someone mentioned that the card couldn't be used with that backplane since it's a SATA controller, however, the backplane is both SAS and SATA device compliant, it's only the RAID controller, as far as I know, that is a "SATA II" controller, and not a SAS controller. So, I couldn't find anything in the official documentation of this controller on whether or not it was able to control SAS devices. The card itself has a 3 SFF-8087 ports though, couldn't this theoretically still be used with a SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cable(seen below)since the backplane is a SAS/SATA backplane?...

  • Migration from Small business server 2011 standad to Windows 2012 Server Standard

    Hi everyone,
I have a network with SBS 2011 standard (that is the only server) and now we are moving (migrating) to windows 2012 server standard with an exchange 2013 (not yet installed).
The main thing is that when trying to install the migration tool on the SBS server, it will not install because it is not a 2008 R2 server.
is there a workaround for this problem?
I Hope this will help. Amir Ovadia

    Hi,
Would you please first let me know how did you perform the migration? Regarding the migration tool, is it the Windows Server Migration Tools in Windows Server 2012 R2? Since you need to install
the Windows Server Migration Tools on the source SBS 2011 server, I suggest we could perform the following steps to install it.
Create deployment folders for ource computers by running the
smigdeploy.exe tool (included with Windows Server Migration Tools) on your destination server.
Register Windows Server Migration Tools on source computers that are running Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, or Windows
    Server 2003 by using SmigDeploy.exe.
For details, please refer to the following article.
