Be Warned - Mavericks is not compatible with Microsoft Office 365!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I upgraded to Mavericks on 4 seperate computers, an 2 iMacs, MBPro and an MBAir and ALL four no longer connect to Microsoft Office 365 email accounts either with Office 2011 or the built in Mac apps.  Apple support says "Microsoft knew for a year that Mavericks was coming out and it their job to make it compatible".  I repsonded that their own Apps like Mail, Contacts and Calendar don't work either and they attempted to trouble shoot those apps only to no avail after 4 hours and a Mavericks reinstall.  I have also tried an Office reinstall.
Right now I am no where, stuck between two companies who say it's the other guys fault......

    Me again:
A colleagues more formal description of the problem:
We have had a major problem with people working directly off of the afp reshares with MS Word.
Word creates "Word Work Files" and usually is able to store them in either "Share/Temporary Items/uid/TemporaryItems/" or "Share/.TemporaryItems/folders.uid/TemporaryItems" as long as permissions are correct.
This works under 10.5.7 seed release 9J39 with direct attached storage, but with the Xsan reshared the word work files appear in the same folder as the opened document even though the permission for temporary items are correct.
This causes a number of issues, one being that if one user has a document open and another clears out the word work file then the open document cannot be saved.
Another issue that we have seen is where the word work file is created and then the original document disappears (although I think this may be another user housekeeping the word work files again).
We have tried to persuade users to work on local copies of the documents instead, but old habits die hard...

  • Shared Mailbox migrating from Lotus Notes to Exchange

We currently have Lotus Notes and in the process of migrating to Exchange Server 2010. We are using the Quest Notes Migrator for Exchange and the Quest Coexistence Manager for Notes tools.
One of the issues we’re coming across is Shared Mailboxes..
    Currently in Notes we have:
Signatures as part of the NSF file so they are included with every email – how will Outlook clients behave for Shared Mailboxes? Because we want the same Signature to be part of every email sent from a shared mailbox regardless of which user sent the email.
We are aware that if we use OWA we won’t have this problem, but how do we configure Signatures for Shared Mailboxes using Outlook clients?
Stationary: We have Stationery linked to our Shared Mailbox accounts, so for example, in our helpdesk mailbox, we have stationary documents/templates we send to end users who email our helpdesk asking a FAQ. Opposed to pointing users to SharePoint, how
do we tackle this in Outlook? Is there options?
    Thanks
    Ray

    Hi,
    1. you can use transport rule to have same signature when from field contains shared mailbox email address.
    2. Sorry, I don't understand your second question.

  • Loading of Data from Lotus notes to CRM

    Hai guys,
I need to upload the Prospects data and also the activites which we created with the prospects from the Lotus notes to the CRM
We have two lotus notes suppose X,Y from which we need to load the data. There might be some records which might be present in both X,Y.We dont want to duplicate the records.
Also we have defined Marketing Attributes X,Y.So now when we are uploading the prospects from X lotus notes all the prospects from the X lotus notes should have X in the Marketing Attribute.Same way as the prospects from Y
I dont have any previous experience loading the data to CRM.
So if you guys have any experience/clues/suggestions can you please share your knowledge.
    Thanks in Advance
    RGDS

    Hello Taylor,
the Lotus integration tools provide the ability to read and write data from Lotus Notes/Domino to SAP and vice versa. Workflow is a special use case. The tools bascially read and write arbitrary data.
Even though I didn't experience CRM myself I still think that they may be suitable.
Feel free to contact me directly so that I can provide the contact persons to you.
    Regards

hi, I need the program of access from the office, so i'm going to but the Microsoft office 365 university, will i have to but any other program to use the access from my mac? or to open any database that I will have did from any other computer (not mac)?

There has never been a Mac version of Access. Microsoft never created one, realising that it was very inferior to the FileMaker Pro database application.
So if you must run Access you will have to run Windows on your mac.

  • How to migrate documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository

    Hi All,
I want to migrate almost 5000 documents from Lotus Notes to Stellent Repository. Is there any way to achieve this functionality?
how to integrate both the things please let me know.
    Regards,
    Vishal Shah

    Hey Vishal,
    one approach could be
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API 2) write a BatchLoad script file using the metadata you have. And then start the batch loader.
    other approach could be to
    1) fetch all the documnets and metadata (wat ever you need) from the Lotus Notes repository using java+Lotus API
    2) Checkthem in using the WSDLs.
There is one thing thought that even i would like to know its which of the two will perform better ?

How to generate XML data from Lotus Notes to migrate to SharePoint by passing XML to SharePoint.?
    Ramesh S

You could use XMLQuery to return the data from your tables as XML, that would give you a CLOB.
An example using the SCOTT schema might be like this:
    SELECT XMLQuery(
             'for $i in ora:view("DEPT")/ROW
              return <Department dname="{$i/DNAME}">
                     <Employee>
                       {for $j in ora:view("EMP")/ROW
                        where $j/DEPTNO eq $i/DEPTNO
                        return ($j/ENAME, $j/JOB, $j/SAL)}
                     </Employee>
                     </Department>'
RETURNING CONTENT) FROM DUAL;In the docs you can find more information about its use:

  • Lotus Notes (Domino) Meeting Invitations from Mail to iCal

I use an iMac at work and a MacBook Pro at home. They recently switched to a Notes-based calendar program at work, and since I don't have the Notes client installed on either machine (someone from our IT department has spent about four hours trying to install it on the iMac with no success) and the web application only works with IE 6, and there is no provision for synching the calendar with my PDA, when I heard that the e-mail meeting invitations could be imported into iCal, I was all over that.
When I opened iCal on the iMac I found that there was a "Work" calendar, and iCal's "Automatically retrieve invitations from Mail" box was checked, there were no entries in the Work calendar--or any other calendar.
When I initially looked into it, I found several threads (e.g. http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5186410) in the iCal forum about time zones not being imported correctly (I wish my problems were that minor!) from Lotus Notes meeting invitations. But these threads showed vCal messages and mentioned error dialogs. I hadn't seen any dialogs, and my meting invitations are just plain text messages like this:
    ======================
Meeting Invitation: Norman Conquest has invited you to a meeting
    Meeting Details
Subject: Let's Kill an Hour, Shall We?
    Begins: 11/26/07 9:00:00 AM
    Ends: 11/26/07 10:00:00 AM
    Location: The Bored Room
    Chair: Norman Conquest
Required Invitees: Upton O'Good, Natalie Attired, Hugh Mility, Justin Case
    Optional Invitees:
To view all the details of the meeting and act on it if necessary, please
click the link below to view your calendar
    ======================
So I just assumed I was foiled again because the messages were not in the right format.
Later I happened to open my MacBook Pro, and, much to my surprise, I found that a small number of meetings had actually found their way into iCal, and in at least one case I know of, one has actually been rescheduled! I could hardly contain myself.
At first I thought the small number of meetings was simply due to the fact that I receive most of my work e-mail at work, on the iMac, so only those meeting invitations that I happened to open for the first time on my MacBook Pro had been imported. However, this turned out not to be the case, as I have observed many cases in which I have received new, unread meeting invitations on my MacBook Pro which have not been entered in iCal.
But what's really got me is that this whole process is so inaccessible! You'd think there would be preferences where you could tell Mail what kind of invitations to look for and tell iCal which calendar to put them in. But no. There's just one checkbox to turn the process on or off. You just check it and cross your fingers.
Just to deepen the mystery a little bit, I do know of one other Mac user who says his invitations are being reliably entered into iCal, and he can even reply to them. When I asked him for details he told me he just turned it on and it worked.
Is there anyone out there who can at least shed a little light on what I've observed, if not help me get this process working at least quasi-reliably? Is this process working for anybody else out there?

  • Synchronize Lotus Domino Directory with Office 365/Exchange Online

I have someone who is asking me to migrate them from a Lotus Domino server to Office 360/Exchange online. However they want to maintain a sync between Lotus Domino Directory and Office 365/Exchange Online. I'm wondering if that is even possible
or would they need to have a regular Active Directory server act as a go between the two. Can anyone provide me some guidance/suggestions?
    Vincent Sprague

Curious, did you ever get this setup?
Reason I'm asking is I was involved with a large MSO365 migration (15k) from Lotus Notes. We had a separate AD forest just for email Dirsync. We involved a third party to setup the sync and migration between Notes and AD, and coexistence. It was rather complex.
Out of the box, it would have been extremely difficult.

  • Sending an email from Lotus Notes release 5.0.4a

I need to write java code for sending an email from Lotus Notes release 5.0.4a.
Initially, I tried using Lotus Domino Toolkit for java, but the current release, "Lotus Domino ToolKit for Java/Corba release 5.0.8" is not compatible with the notes client/server we are using(5.0.4a).
Now, I am trying to use "Lotus Domino Toolkit 2.1" which supports notes version 5.0.3 and higher, but I couldnot find out how to use it to send email.
Is there are other way in which we can connect to Lotus Notes for sending email. I cannot use SMTP as the Lotus Notes administrator is afraid of security issues so there is no possibility that I can connect to Domino server using java mail API by enabling SMTP on the Domino server.
I would be thankful if somebody can help me to do this.

First off - This is very "off topic"
The Domino SMTP server is not hard to lock down. Any Notes Admin worth his/her salt should know how to do it. Try to persuade them to run the SMTP stuff using name and password authentication only, or restrict access to an IP address range. This is all easy stuff.
Otherwise DIIOP/CORBA is one way to go. If your toolkit jar files don't work with the server then try using the ones on the server. Look in %noteshome%\data\domino\java for the ncso.jar file.
This works for me on an AS/400 java VM to WinNT/Linux Domino servers of various versions.
How to create an email using this method is again not difficult. All you really need is a blank database template. You have to create a document with certain fields in it (all documented) and then save it. That's all there is to it.
Word of warning DIIOP is not very rapid and careless coding can create problems. Ensure that once you have finished a session you make sure you close it else you will have continual connection problems.
Try searching around the domino/notes groups on how to actually do this.

  • Why can I not Convert a Microsoft Office Document to a PDF using the Context Menu?

Why can I not Convert a Microsoft Office 2013 Document to a PDF using the options found in the Context Menu? (Ex: Convert to PDF, Combine Supported Files into PDF?)
I updated to Acrobat XI PRO recently, but now i'm unable to combine or convert microsoft word docs to PDF.
In Adobe Acrobat X I had this feature below, and it would combine Microsoft Office Documents all into a single PDF. Now I no longer have this issue in Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. It seems like it was program named Adobe Elements that was running the conversion.

Ajlan. That page is showing as not available. Would the fix apply to Adobe Acrobat X and XI?

  • RFC call from Lotus Notes

    Hi,
I have create an RFC function, and have a successful test in R/3.
And when I call this RFC function from Lotus Notes. The return message is AA 291 'No correction'.
    Anybody know the reason?
    Best regards,
    leric

    Hello Leric,
as an alternative option to using RFC, you may also consider using WebServices. SAP Systems as of Web Application Server 6.20 onwards offer all BAPIs as Web Services.
please take a look at the R/3 web services browser: http://<hostname>:<icmport>/sap/bc/bsp/sap/WebServiceBrowser/search.html
you may also take a look at SAP TechED 2006 session ID SOA150 (Providing and consuming web services in ABAP - http://www.sapteched.com/06/emea/edu_sessions/viewall.htm)
    Regards
    Michael
PS: if you want to use RFC, you may consider using different connectivity options such as LEI Domino connector from IBM, ZeNotes from Konplan (http://www.konplan.com/public1/_EN/solutions_zenotes.php) or it.smartconnect from itelligence (http://it-smart-connect.itelligence.de/)
