Migration from OCS 10g to Another OCS10g

I need to migrate a single box installation of OCS 10g (production) to a multi-box with hight disponibility feature (with new machine names, etc).
Anybody have a idea to migrate this setup ?
Best Regards,
Adail Horst

Hello
you've been advised to contact ACE team through you Oracle Sales Rep some times ago, they would surely have provided some help, now the they've moved to Beehive, that will be impossible.
OCS is not an "imature solution", but now it's becoming "too mature" as it will be replaced with Beehive, and you waited too long before ringing the bell. Who is immature ? Oracle Support because they want to call you in order to provide some help ? I don't understand.
Though, migrating OID, emails and Calendar is far from being impossible, it's the easiest part.
- for OID you just need to migrate contents (users, groups etc) through LDIF
- for emails and contacts you need OMT (Oracle Migration Tool) and a partner to operate that tool
- for calendar it's more or less a matter of moving the database if you keep ctcalxitemids the same, if I remember well
And there's also an easier solution : move all the software and data to another servermore powerful that your old box. If you use the same Linux version, same patchlevel, and same configuration (network, sysctl, etc), it will work.
Do not try and implement an OCS Cluster now, if you wan't to move to a high availability environment, consider Beehive, really.

  • How can I migrate from one user to another within the same computer?

    My main user account in my desktop is becoming buggy after to many migrations from different computers and long time usage. I would like to migrate from one user to another user within the same computer to see if this improves my current problems.
    How can I do it in a reasonably safe and quick way?
    Thank you very much, cheers, Rui
    iMAC, OS 10.6.8... and yes, I love Snow Leopard light and handy... and all my programs work on it...

    Move small groups of files to the /Users/Shared/ folder or another location and see if the problems disappear. Moving everything to a new user account will in all probability transfer the problems.

  • Setups migration from one instance to another

    Can any one please tell me how to migrate AME (Oracle Approval Management) setups and GL Setups?
    We are using AME.B.(11.5.10.2). There will be quite a few of these setups required, and migrating by hand in all the eBS instances will be difficult.
    Is there any other way (API/other tools) to achieve this? Can we use FNDLOAD?

    Hi Anugrah,
    Unfortunately there isn't a facility to allow a customer iStore site to migrate from one environment to another (e.g. Test to Productions) easily. Currently the staging and migration of iStore environments are done manually, and some installations have utilized their own change control systems and adopted their own naming conventions for JSP customization and iStore content to make the environment promotion process more managable.
    With that said, there are concurrent programs that allow customers to perform site administration around migrating template mappings between instances (import and export). You can refer to the iStore Implementation & Admin. Guide under the iStore Template Mapping Import / Export Concurrent Programs.

    Hi All,
    We require more information pertaining to hardware migration from one server to another server without changing OS & DB.

    usually you don't have to care too much about the tools used (r3ldctl = R3load control | r3szchk = R3 size checker | r3load = R3 Load), because you normally use r3setup/sapinst to fulfill the copy/migration. r3setup/sapinst will call the appropriate tools with the needed options...
    -> which release are we talking about?
    -> which os and which database do you use?
    -> how big is your source database?
    -> do you have any time issues while making the copy?

  • Migration from OAS 10g to Weblogic 10.3

    Hello,
    I migrate large app from OAS 10g to Weblogic 10.3.
    1.
    The main part of the job was to prepare descriptors for Weblogic. Unfortunatelly I don't find any tool that could do the job:( There are some problems with descriptors namespaces. This schema and namespaces given in 10.3 docs are not working (not available):
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/ejb/DD_defs_reference.html
    So I use the one from 10 release in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml:
    weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">
    and form 9 release in weblogic-cmp-rdbms-jar.xml:
    <weblogic-rdbms-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
    xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90/weblogic-rdbms20-persistence.xsd">
    There are also some bugs in docs about ejb relations.
    After fixing some schema compliance exc this step success.
    2. Next the EJBComplianceChecker - its much more restrictive than OAS verification. So updates in ejb interfaces are necessary. It is not a problem with small app but when there ale a lot of code/branches to migrate it's become a problem. I have been looking for some switch that could help with this but with no result/
    EJBComplianceChecker - Spec veryfication level
    3. Now after EJB compliance checker done its job with success I have an exception that I do not understand:
    An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
    Exception
    preparing module: EJBModule(corpo_ejb.jar)
    Unable to deploy EJB: corpo_ejb.jar from corpo_ejb.jar:
    There are 1 nested errors:

    weblogic.ejb.container.ejbc.EJBCompiler.doCompile(EJBCompiler.java:357)

    JDT compilation error!
    Could you please give me some point where the problem could be? I don't have any idea where to start looking for..
    What are your experiences with migrations from OAS to Weblogic 10?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Stoigniew Sztank,
    I am working on migrating Enterpirse application developed using Struts, Ejb2.0, JMS. Its been deployed on OAS 10G and Websphere, but I need to deploy the application on Weblogic 10.3. It seems you have migrated a J2ee application from OAS 10G to Weblogic 10.3. Please can you list me the steps that you followed to migrate the application.
    As per my understanding follwing things needsto be taken care of:-
    1) Weblogic Descriptor files:
    1.1 Weblogic.xml:- we added security roles and ejb-reference-description for the ejbs.
    1.2 Weblogic-ejb-jar.xml for all the ejbs used in the application.
    1.3 Weblogic-application.xml
    1.4 Resource Adapter
    2) JMS queue set up
    3) JDBC set up
    It would be a great help if you can let me know what are the steps to migrate the application.
    Thanks and Regards

  • HT4889 Can I choose what to migrate from one mac to another mac?

    Can I choose what to migrate from one mac (Powrebook G4) to another mac (New iMac)?  I do not want everything to be migrated, as some programs are not compatible with Mountain Lion or an intelIntel mac!
    As it is a brand New iMac I would also like to keep it clean of unnecessary files that have become  imbedded in the Powerbook over its time.Therfore it would be nice if I can pick and choose what is to be transferd. If you can give me a heads up on if and how it would be appreciated!!!

    Thanks for your input!… I have now come across an Article from Apple
    Migration Assistant tips and tricks
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3231?viewlocale=en_US
    Controlling what is migrated
    With Migration Assistant you control the data that is migrated from another Macintosh computer. By clicking the triangle next to a user's name, you can select which User Accounts to migrate and choose which folders to migrate. You can also choose whether to migrate Applications, Network and Computer settings, or Volumes. Migrating only what you need can reduce the time it takes to complete your migration.

  • Oracle db Migration from one server to another

    Can any body guide me why companies migrate Oracle db from one server to another , & what is the process for doing that?

    In that case, something has changed, right? The need to have a standby server has become important.
    Next steps:
    - define the real business requirements (why do we think we want to spend money on a spare server? why should the money go to a hardware company, instead of an increase in my salary? what benefit are they looking for?)
    - see whether any known ideas or alternatives fit the requirements, see whether the backup should be a standby server, a hot failover server, or some other backup mode;
    - go to the Oracle Technet site, look under the Product Centers: Database area to see whether there are any related topics (such as 'availability', as one of the logical reasons for a backup is to make the application more avaliable); check in that area for any white papers; read the white papers to formulate an idea, write down interesting keywords;
    - look in the Oracle docuentation, list of books, to see whether there are any books specifically dealing with that topic (such as Oracle Data Guard);
    - use Google to search for the combination of 'Oracle backup' and the interesting keyword and study several of the sites;
    - form a basic plan;
    - go to expert and trusted sources (these forums, OraFaq.com), post a plan and ask for feedback.
    There are literally dozens of alternatives. Research and find the one(s) that are right for your situation. That includes the technical as well as the financial reasons.
    More than anything, that means you need to learn to ask the right question. And that often means asking the same question several different ways, and attempting to answer each variation yourself to see how the answer solves your specific needs.

  • Calendar server Migration from one server to another

    Dear folks,
    We are planing to move our calendar server from one server to another, Platform is same, OS is same, Calendar server on both systems are having similar version, Only pointing to new directory server but same schema level and populated with same users,
    What would be the best approach to accomplish this:
    1) Just take backup of Database & Restore it on the new server
    2) Run Migration utility .....
    ll appreciate for any help......

    If they are the same platform/version you should be able to copy the database across as-is. The users directory entries (icsdwphost) will need to be updated to reflect the new hostname for the calendar server.
    As with any move/migration, test and retest.

  • Challenge question and password migration from oimm 10g to 11g r2

    hi all,
    can you please tell me how do i do the migration of oim 10g user's password and challenge questions to oim 11g r2. Do we have any api to do it. these values are in encrypted format in oim db.
    thanks

    Run your sql query to output the encrypted fields to a flatfile or csv, and include the usr_login field so you know which user to assign the values to.
    Copy your config folder from your oim server and create a patch like c:\xellerate\config. In your code, when you connect to OIM, use this:
    System.setProperty("XL.HomeDir", "c:/xellerate");
    System.setProperty("java.security.auth.login.config", "c:/xellerate/config/authwl.conf");
    Now, when you read the file and have the encrypted field, use this code:
    String decryptValue= tcCryptoUtil.decrypt(encryptValue, "DBSecretKey");
    Now that you have the unencrypted value from your 9x instance, you can use the APIs to set challenge questions, and set user passwords with the 11g APIs.

  • Migration from 1 domain to another (in relation to Exchange)

    Hi, hoping someone can give me an opinion on the best way to carry out this task as it's quite a big project. I've read various articles on technet and other blogs, but I'm not sure if this is even possible with the versions of Exchange involved. Details
    below:
    We are carrying out a domain centralisation project - merging from an external forest (Domain B for example purposes) into another Forest (target Domain A). I will be using ADMT to carry out the account, group migrations etc and will include SID history
    when doing so.
    There is a two way external trust between the domains.
    Domain B (source domain) has it's own Exchange 2010 environment. The target domain is on Exchange 2003 SP2.
    Once I have migrated the accounts, is there any Exchange tools or methods for me to ensure that the migrated accounts can still access their Exchange mailboxes (with the domain trust still in place)?
    As mentioned earlier I will be migrating SID history to ensure no disruption with access to resources, I have read that this would also be needed to ensure users can still access their original mailboxes in the source domain. Eventually we will be migrating
    the mailboxes from old domain to new but this is phase 2 of the project (either by PST import or however this can be done, that will need to be thought about later...).
    Any advice on how I can make sure the migrated users can still access their mailboxes and what I need to do, would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    If the target forest is running Exchange 2003, you aren't 100% wrong in saying it may not be possible. If you are migrating from Exchange 2010 to a new forest, you need to be migrating into an Exchange 2010 organization - downlevel migrations aren't supported,
    to the best of my knowledge. Here are the links supporting Exchange forest migrations, and they specifically say they are for migrations into an Exchange 2010 organization:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2011/06/10/exchange-2010-cross-forest-migration-step-by-step-guide-part-i.aspx
    https://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Cross-Forest-Migration-7443029c
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2010/08/10/3410619.aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd876952.aspx
    I'm pretty sure that the tools used won't allow you to migrate from Exchange 2010 into Exchange 2003.  I'm sure you can kludge together a migration process that exports mailboxes to PST, then imports them into the target mailboxes, but that would be
    a painful process.
