Migration from Picasa to iCloud

I have photos and videos on Picasa.  Can I migrate them to iCloud without downloading to my desktop first?

ICloud is not a replacement for Picasa

  • HT4906 How do I transfer photos from picasa onto icloud?

I have just recently updated my software to Lion and now my photos are in picasa. I want to upload them onto icloud to share with my other apple products. How do I do that?

You'll need to use an app that understands and interacts with Phootstream - like iPhoto or Aperture. So, if you want these features badly enough you'll need to migrate from Picasa to whichever you choose.

  • I'm trying to migrate from mobileMe to iCloud but I have Snow Leopard (the latest version). It looks like Lion is no longer available because Mountain Lion comes out next month (July). The problem is mobileMe ends on June 30th. How can I migrate?

I'm trying to migrate from mobileMe to iCloud but I have Snow Leopard (the latest version). It looks like Lion is no longer available because Mountain Lion comes out next month (July). The problem is mobileMe ends on June 30th. How can I migrate?
My iphone and my ipad are compatible but when I try to go to icloud on my phone it says to do it on my computer.
I would like to have my calendar, contacts, etc.. all sync like they do now. Is there a way to upgrade before June 30th? If not, will the gap be an issue or will I just be able to buy mountain lion and sync everything?
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

You can buy Lion in the App Store now, but move to iCloud now. If you wait to Mountain Lion, you will only have Mail in Snow Leopard, so you will lose syncing unless you use Lion or Mountain Lion. It's up to you

  • Migrating from Picasa to Elements

I have always used picasa, and have many thousands of pics on Picasa. I want to move my entire workflow to Elements 7 on windows 7.
Is there any simple way to migrate Picasa albums to Elements?

    Interesting Query...
I myself have migrated from Picasa to Photoshop Elements long time back.... But I had few images that time.. I have one solution for you if you were organizing through Folders and if you want those folders as Albums in Photoshop Elements...
    Simple workflow is:
    - Launch Organizer
    - Import all the files into a new Catalog of Organizer
    - Go to Folder View
    - Select one Folder.. you get an optoon to create instant Album >> Just click on that option and an album will be created. This album will have all the files in that folder and same name will be assigned to that Album...
If files are not organized in folder, there is no standard workflow to migrate from Picasa to Photoshop Elements..
And I have used Photoshop Elements 7 .. Now converted PSE7 catalog of 14000 images (Most of them are NEF) to PSE8 and it works fine for me :-)
I am very happy with this great Product having rich features.... Ohh, Did I miss to mention that Face Recognition in 8th release of Photoshop elements rock!!!

  • I've migrated from MobileMe to iCloud - can I still access my iDisk on my Mac and how?

I've just migrated from MobileMe to iCloud and have noticed that iDisk on my Mac has disappeared. Is there still a way for me to access my iDisk on my Mac? Can I still sync with it before MobileMe is canceled altogether (June 2012)?
    Thanks in advance!

iDisk is not a feature of iCloud.
However, just log back into MobileMe in the MobileMe system preferences pane and your iDisk will be accessible again.

  • Migrated from MobileMe to iCloud. Sync works, but Find My ... reports no location, even though Location Services shows ON.

I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to IOS5, migrated from mobile.me to iCloud, and deleted my mobile.me account from my devices under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars." My user name and password were different between mobile.me and the Apple Store account, so I used my Apple Store ID to activate iCloud.
All syncing now works fine, but Find My iPhone reports "Location Services disabled." That is true for both my iPhone and iPad. Nevertheless, Find My iPhone is still able to send a message or sound to my devices, even though it cannot locate them.
Find My iPhone is switched ON under the iCloud account on both devices, and is ON under Location Services. The only way I can get Find My iPhone to locate my devices is to re-enable mobile.me, but that is no solution since the mobile.me service is scheduled to end next year.
Can you help unravel this for me?

I think I solved it!  Remove the Ubiquity folder from ~/Library/Application Support/
OSX will create a new one and locations services will work perfectly!  Well, it worked for me!
    I love using exclamation points!!!

  • Migrating from picasa to Lightroom

    Hi,
I currently use Picasa for organising & editing my photos.
I'm planning on using Lightroom instead. Is it possible to export my settings (tags, starred photos etc.) from Picasa to Lightroom?
    Cheers,

  • Migration from MobileMe to iCloud - where did my documents go?

When I bought the new iPhone 4S, I was instructed to move all of my MobileMe content to iCloud; however, I'm now missing my files as well as my websites.  Can someone please help?  Thanks!

Your files and websites are still on the iDisk: iCloud does not do general file storage nor website hosting.
You can still access them: the migration process has probably signed you out of MobileMe so you will need to go to System Preferences>MobileMe on your Mac or the sign-in location on your iPhone and sign in. On your Mac you will then be able to access your iDisk as before from Finder menu Go>iDisk>My iDisk or on your iPhone from the iDisk app.
Your websites and files will remain on the iDisk until 30 June 2012 when MobileMe will terminate and they will be deleted, so you will need to find alternative hosting before then. This article examines some alternatives:

  • Recently migrated from mobileme to iCloud and my mail inbox always shows 3. Any idea how to fix?

I recently upgraded to Lion and migrated my mobileme account to iCloud and my mail inbox always shows 3 new emails that don't appear as new anywhere. I found a previous article from a couple of years ago but it was no help. Any ideas?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try turning mail syncing off and on again in system preferences > iCloud.

  • Has anyone successfully migrated from mobileme to iCloud?

If so I'd like to hear how it went for you and if there were any gotcha's you had to overcome. I'm updated all my mac's to 10.7.2 and my devices to iO5 so I've just got to start the move.
The only thing I was / am concerned about is losing keychain sync and mailbox sync but for the former I manage all my web password using 1password and dropbox and for the latter I tend to have different mailboxes set up on different devices, so no sweat.
    Is there anything else?

    Hi,,
I finally got up the nerve to migrate today - like many, I was terrified after everything I'd read here.
It all went very smoothly - touch wood..
First I had to upgrade my Mac from SnowLeopard  to Lion. That took a few hours, but it went OK.
I backed up my contacts and ical to be on the safe side. ( Note: ALL of the calendars, i.e. 'work', 'home', if you have more than one need to be backed up)
Then I logged into MobileMe and I was invited automatically to migrate to iCloud.
I think the only bit of advice I can give is to those of us who did use Mobile Me - and that's to use your mobile me user ID ([email protected]) and not your Apple ID (like we use to log on here) with all of your devices when you migrate. A terrible lack of clarity on Apple's part around that seems to cause a lot of problems.. Indeed when I upgraded my iphone to ios5 my Apple ID was sitting in the iphone's icloud account by default, waiting for me to add my password and migrate. I did actually use it at first, naturally thinking it must be the one I should use... result - an icloud account with no ical or contacts on it.
I deleted it and started again using my mobile me ID once I had migrated to icloud on my Mac and it went smoothly across all my other devices (ipad, iphone and MB air)
There seems to be some idea around the forum that to sync itunes across devices with icloud you need to open another icloud account using the Apple ID you use for buying from iTunes. To be honest I don't really care about syncing my music, so I haven't worked out if that's true or not.
The weird part for me is - how would I know anyway if my itunes purchases are in the cloud or not? How does one find out, short of making a purchase and seeing if it appears elsewhere?
    Good luck..!

  • Can't migrate from mobileme to icloud

I've been trying to migrate in the UK for over a week, but the 'servers are too busy'. Anyone else managed?can't migrate to icloud

I am having the same problems to.  Contacted Apple Support they recommended logging out of Mobile ME then emptying the cache in Safari and logging back in thne ry to migrate.  This never worked.  They then recommended trying Firefox to make the migration.  This never worked.  Still get servers too busy message.
    Still unresolved.

  • Migrate from gMail to iCloud email : storage issues?

    Hi
I'm considering dropping my existing but unwieldy gMail address, for a more concise [email protected] address. My concern is around storage space. It's my understanding that the standard iCloud account is just 5Gb - whereas the standard gMail account is limitless - correct? If so, surely my iCloud storage will in time, be consumed with large volumes of email. I'd then be forced to deal with that by 'spring cleaning' the iCloud server  -and in the process, could lose something I later need.
Am I correct in assuming there's a 5Gb limit on iCloud acounts?
    Matthew

5 GB's is the amount of the free service and you can purchase additional storage if needed.
I've had the same Apple mac.com address since 2000 and have less than 100 emails still on their servers. You can move files from iCloud to your computer to free up space.

  • Migrating from MobileMe to iCloud

I originally had a MobileMe account with 2 accounts (account1 and account2). We had a 50GB account (upgrade). I was able to adjust the accounts and add additional space for account2. Once we were migrated to iCloud, I noticed that when I log onto account 1, it shows the current plan of 50GB, but when we log into account2 with my wifes iphone, it shows a free account and only 5GB. How do I share my space with account1 and account2, and give account2 10 or 15GB?

OK. Thanks Windston Churchill (Really??). I apreaciate the information. I didn't know icloud didn't support this. That answers everything.
    Have a wonderful day.
