Migration from Workshop 5.0

Question

This is the first time I'm using this forum.
I am currently trying out Forte C++ 6.0 upgrade 1. Using this compiler, I am trying to compile a test program provided with an SDK. This SDK contains .cpp, ,h files and some libraries compiled using SUN Workshop 5.0.
When I run the compiler, I get the following error:

Our friends in sun/forte has changed the implementation
of string. (Do a diff of the string.cc files in the include directory: diff 6.0U1/SUNWspro/WS6U1/include/CC/Cstd/string.cc
SUNWspro/SC5.0/include/CC/string.cc )
in 5.0 npos is declared in the string.cc file,
in 6 it is not. In 6 you have the
static const size_type npos= -1 int the <string> file,
int 5 you have
static const size_type npos;
which needs to be defined somewhere.
When you have a library compiled with 5.0 and use the 6 compiler you get problems.
Get your libraries compiled with 6, or maybe you can put in
a string::npos =-1 somewhere somehow.
