Migration From Xcelsius 4.5 to Xcelsius 2008 with SP3

Xcelius 4.5 using Live office XI Release 2 to access data. SWF file is published in BOXI R2 .
Company is upgrading
from BOXI R2 to BOXI R3.1;
from Xcelsius 4.5 to Xcelsius 2008 with SP3;
From Live Office XI R2 to Live Office XI 3.1
Planning to use Import Wizard Import SWF file from BOXIR to BOXI 3.1
Because of LIVE OFFICE is upgrading to BOXI 3.1, do i need to open Xcelsius 4.5 XLF(source file) into Xcelsius 2008 with SP3 and re-create SWF file & pubish into BOXI 3.1 ?
Without recreate new SWF[Xcelsius 2008], file previous[Xcelsius 4.5] version SWF file work in BOXI 3.1 or not ?

I would recommend updating your 4.5 XLF in Xcelsius 2008 and repoint the data with the new Live Office connection and publish the SWF.

  • Execute command lines from Xcelsius 2008

    Hello,
Is there any possible way to execute command lines from Xcelsius 2008 swf?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
You cannot call out to command-line from a Flash SWF, it is sandboxed so does not know how to do any of that.
One (complicated) option would be to write your own app to embed the SWF into, a real app can then call out to do whatever you want, then you just have to get the SWF to communicate with your app using External Interface, it would be a lot of work.

  • Unable to export to PowerPoint from Xcelsius 2008

Xcelsius 2008 does not export to Powerpoint, it doesn't do anything.  I have clicked on the button to export and tried going to the File - Export to - . . .  but nothing happens.
    Please assist.

    David,
I've read the Xcelsius2008_release_notes_en.pdf on the installation disc.  (especially when going to Adobe's articles for Flash 8 & 9) A lot of reading, most of which I do not understand but get the jest of it.  I must say that I do not think that this is the 'problem' here. I do not get any 'warnings' of any kind that it cannot do that function.
At first when I tried to export from Xcelsius 2008 into Powerpoint it would not do anything as you may recall.  Then when I opened up the Task Manager it started working.  (NOTE:  when I hover my mouse icon over the export buttons in Xcelsius usually this pops up a bubble stating 'what' it would do if I click on the button.  There are only two buttons where something displays when I hover my mouse and those are  "Export to Outlook and Export to Business Objects Platform".  None of the other buttons seem to have this bubble.
Now I am trying to export to Powerpoint again with another file and it opens Powerpoint but the screen is blank and there is no view slideshow option.  It will however let me export to just a plain 'swf' format.  Which is not acceptable for our purposes.  My boss said I should UNINSTALL Xcelsius 2008 and REinstall it again.
    Any solutions or ideas???????

  • Migrating from 2003 domain/forest level to 2008R2 with all DC's at 2008R2 and 2 other Domain External and Forest Trusts

Is there anything that needs to be done or considered when migrating from 2003 domain/forest level to 2008R2 with all DC's at 2008R2 with 2 other 2003 separate Domain incoming
and outgoing Trusts, one Trust that is a Forest Trust and the other is an External Trust? Is there any chance or risks that doing this upgrade will break either one of these Trust relationships? Some of the user accounts with SID history have been migrated
from both Domain Trusts to our domain. Any chance that this upgrade will break these relationships for users that are using SID history for access to folders and files in their old Domains? If so what can be done to protect these trusts and SID history, prior
to moving the Domain to 2008R2

    Hi,
    Based on my knowledge,
the Upgrade of the function level do not affect the trust relationship.
Besides, before you upgrade the Functional Level,
verify that all DCs in the domain are, at a minimum, at the OS version to which you will raise the functional level.
Once the Functional Level has been upgraded, new DCs on running on downlevel versions of Windows Server cannot be added to the domain or forest.
For more information about function level, we can refer to following links:

  • Error:Package migration from version 8 to version 6 failed with error 0xC001700A

I was about to post a similar question where the package runs fine on VS2013 but errors when I run DTEXEC from the command prompt.
    Error:
     Code: 0xC0016020
     Source: Package
Description: Package migration from version 8 to version 6 failed with error 0xC001700A

    Hi TheDenver,
Based on the error message that “Package migration from version 8 to version 6 failed with error 0xC001700A ", we can infer that the underlying cause is that the current SSIS package is created in SSDT BI 2014 for Visual Studio 2013, while you are trying
to execute it with SQL Server 2012 DTEXEC. It seems that SQL Server 2014 Integration Services (SSIS) is installed on a machine that has SQL Server 2012 Integration Services (SSIS) installed, multiple versions of the dtexec utility are installed.
SSIS versions are not backwards compatible. SSDT BI for VS 2013 is used for SQL Server 2014, SSDT BI for VS 2012/SSDT 2010 is used for SQL Server 2012. Please notice that once a package is upgraded from SSIS 2012 package schema to SSIS 2014 package schema,
the package cannot be downgraded. So we cannot open or execute the SSIS 2014 packages with SSIS 2012 anymore.
To fix this, please ensure that you run the correct version of the utility, at the command prompt run the utility by entering the full path (<drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\120\DTS\Binn).

  • Xcelssius 4.5 migration to Xcelsius 2008 - problems

    Hi,
I am trying to migrate some Xcelsius models from 4.5 to 2008 and found a number of issues - please can anyone else confirm if they have experienced the same things or if there are fixes for them:
    - on bubble charts you can no longer edit the data labels as the options screen for them (appearance>text>data labels) is broken.
    - Flashvars no longer work and need to be rebuilt.
I have seen other people mention that formatting issues are to be expected when converting models to Xcelsius 2008 but have seen no mentions of these specific errors before.
    thanks

  • Downgrade from Xcelsius 2008 SP2 to SP1

    Hi,
We are facing some problems with Xcelsius 2008 SP2 .So thought of downgrading it from SP2 to SP1 again.
Please let me know where to do this downgrading alone ....without losing  Xcelsius 2008 SP1
Also please let us know if there are any thing that needs to be kept in mind during this downgrade process...
In our case as it is critical....need some help....
    Thanks

    Hi Shafi,
Have you considered the entire installation of Xcelsius 2008 then/with SP1.
I believe downgrading is not possible.
    With best wishes

  • OS Migration from Windows 2003 cluster  to Windows 2008 R2 MSCS

We want to go for windows 2008 R2 server ( 64-Bit)  MSCS by migrating from windows 2003 Cluster ( 32- Bit) . We are running on ECC 6.0 and oracle 10.2.0.2 DB.
    Is it possible ?
Is it traditional System copy if so how to migrate the cluster ?
    Regards

    > 2. If the oracle version is 10.2.0.2 then does it will support Windows 2008 R2.
You need at least 10.2.0.4 (you need to install that version with a separate DVD, you can't install with the normal Oracle DVD (10.2.0.1). See
Note 1303262 - Oracle on Windows Server 2008
Be aware of the fact that the normal standard support for 10.2.x is ending at end of july (you'll have to pay an extra maintenance fee if you continue to run that version) - see
Note 1110995 - Extended maintenance for Oracle Version 10.2
So if you now do a system copy to new hardware with a new os anyway, I would upgrade to 11.2.

  • Can't Install Xcelsius 2008 with Office/Excel 2010 Beta on XP

I am running the latest beta version of Office 2010 and when I try to install Xcelsius 2008 i get an error and it aborts the install. Error says:
Office XP application: Excel, Word, Outlook or Powerpoint must be pre-installed.  Higher versions work fine.
Am I missing something on why this wouldnt work?
    Thanks,
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
There is a work around for your problem, go to my blog: http://www.pieterverstraeten.com/blog/sap-bo-crystal-dashboard-design-2008-installation-cobmination-with-ms-office-2010-xcelsius-liveoffice/
Today I downloaded the new version of Xcelius, SAP BO Dashboards 4.0. This version will support MS Office 2010! This version will be available the 23th of February 2011.
I hope this will solve your problem.

  • Migrate from Lightroom 3 to Aperture 3 - Problems with DNG

    Hello : )
I will migrate from Lightroom 3 to Aperture 3. I've tested Aperture for a while and I like it, but I have one problem. If I import DNG files, I lost all the settings I've made in Lightroom, except Metadata. Is there any way to import DNG files and get all the settings? If not I think a migration to Aperture will not be possible to me, because I've over 50.000 DNG files and I don't want to convert them to tiff or other formats and lost all the benefits of the RAW files.
    Thanks

  • Migrating from 8.1.7 to 9.2 with different character set

Are there going to be issues when I try to migrate from 8.1.7 to 9.2 where the character set in the 8i database was the default western european to utf8 in 9i?
I ran the 8i scan utility to see if there would be issues importing into an 8i db with a different char set and it said that there would.

    Hi Jim,
As your first step, I would recommend reading the white paper Character Set Migration Best Practices for Oracle9i on the Globalization Support Home page - http://otn.oracle.com/tech/globalization/index.html
Since you mentioned that CSSCAN has already reported there are potential issues (I guess you have exceptional/Lossy data ?), I would strongly recommend splitting up the UTF8 character set change and the database version upgrade into 2 distant phrases. Probably moving to UTF8 in 8.1.7 first, then upgrading to 9.2 later.
BTW, there is a separate Globlization Support and NLS discussion forum on OTN for further discussion on character set related issues.

  • OS Migration from Solaris 10 to Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher

    Hi experts,
We'd like to migrate the OS of our SAP systems to windows from Solaris 10. We're still wondering which version of Windows we'll use. (matter of money)
Could you give me some docs, tips or advice to do that ? (requirements, how to do it, packages to install)
I have checked berforehand that all the SAP solutions we're using are compatible with Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher.
I heard I'd need an OS Migration Expert to do it, but still, before that I need to check if it's possible and a roadmap could also be nice.
    Thank you in advance,
    Best Regards.
    Alexiel.

    Hi Alex,
From license perspective you need to procure license for Windows 2012 but for installation you can downgrade it to windows 2008 R2 as required.
From suggestion perspective, it is always good to go with Windows 2012 to gain benefits from mainstream support and new features as compared to windows 2008 r2.
As per SAP recommendation, it is good to have OS/DB certified consultant to perform the migration.

  • Migrating from XI release 2 to Server 2008

Hi, are company just purchased Crystal Reports Server 2008 and I installed it just fine.  Up until now we have been using XI release 2 on windows 2003 servers and doing all of our developing using visual studio 2005/2008 and things have been working fine.  However, I canu2019t seem to find any documentation on how I am to migrate over and start using Crystal Reports Server 2008.  Any help and documentation/user guides would be helpful beyond the installation guide that it came with.

XIR2 to CRS08 will mean no clustering, distributed installs, or auditing going forward. Usually the upgrade path from XIR2 would be XI 3.x.
There is an upgrade link and import wizard guide on help.sap.com under enterprise 3.1 that is most current. Both upgrade and import are available.

  • Xcelsius 2008 with Excel XML Maps and Excel 2007

    Hi guys,
I'm getting great results with the Excel Xml maps feature,
the problem is we upgraded to Excel 2007 and now Xcelsius can't seem to find the Xml Map connections any more.
I did some testing, it seems that an XML connection created in Excel 2003 works fine, but Xcelsius just doesn't see any connection created with Excel 2007.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Roy

    Mark,
It seems like that may have been something to look into prior to purchasing the product. You're a creative guy though, try to work around with the Excel sheet in the backend. I'm sure you can manage what you need with only one connection.
The key to being an Xcelsius expert is to know how to work around any problem.
Do you need this to be live data? If not, you could try the Excel -> Import External Data function.
    I hope that helps!
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Migrating from Powerbook G4 to MacBook (late 2008)

Just got a new MacBook. I'm wondering whether I should use Migration Assistant or just copy my old files manually to the new MacBook.
My Powerbook has been through many OS upgrades that I'm thinking I should start "fresh" and just copy old files. I know that I'll have to reinstall all my third-party applications if I go this route. Which may be a good thing since I can then not install apps that I haven't used in a while.
    Questions:
    1. Does it really matter whether I do the migration manually or through the Migration Assistant? i.e., do I really need to start "fresh" without all the "junk" (if there really are any) from all the OS upgrades through the years on my old Powerbook?
    2. Has anyone done a manual migration? If so, perhaps someone can share what they did -- e.g., how you moved things like email (POP), calendar, address book, etc.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

I just plugged an ethernet cable from my two notebooks and started the Migration Assistant and it just transferred everything over. Remember to create a temporary user instead of an actual user that has an identical username as on your old system because I have ran into issues.
Only settings and software were migrated. No system software components were moved over for obvious reasons.
