HI,
Is this necessary , if not then is there any issues wihile we can execute the 3.5 quries in BI7 gui any problems will com.
-> If you want to use the new functionality provided by BI7 BEx analyzer, it is necessary to migrate the Queries. New functinality such as, drag and drop chracteristics in and out of filter, drill down, etc. It is necessary to migrate the reports from 3.5 to Bi7
Could you let me know how do we can migrate the existing quries into new version.
-> BEx Queries - in order to migrate BEx Queries from 3.5 to 7, open the 3.5 BEx Query using the BI7 BEx Query designer and Save it, this is the procedure to migrate a 3.5 query to a BI7 Query.
BEx Workbooks - for migrating a BEx workbook from 3.5 to BI7, open the 3.5 workbook using BI7 BEx Analyzer and Save it.

  • Migration of 2lis_11_vahdr DS into BI7

    Dear Experts,
    I have issue with 2lis_11_vahdr data source.
    I hope this DS is not support BI7 directly, I relpicated it from R/3 and Migrated into BI7.
    Now while converting the existing Infosource into Transformations Iam getting fully mapped Transfermations.
    I have installed 0SD_C03 cube also.
    I would like to load dats from 2lis_11_vahdr  in BI7 with all BI7 option I mean using Transformation method(if content transformation available plz let me know).
    Please help me in this...
    Thanks,
    APC

    Hi APC,
    1. Select the  required source system in the BI content tab.
    2. In BI content, select grouping as install objects Before... search for the Cube you want to install and transfer it for the installation.
    3. Select the check boxes for the installation of objects.
    4. Check Data flow is avaialable properly from Cube>Updaterules>info source>Transfer rules>data source.
    5. Then try migrating in the order update rule> Inforsource> transfer rules and then the datasource.
    Hope thses steps will help you..revert the migrated data source back to 3.X form and try doing this.

  • Migrating BAPI & RFC function modules into web services

    What is the advantage of migrating BAPI & RFC function modules into web services?

    Hi.
    That's a very good question. Why did you ask it, are you considering doing so?
    I wouldn't think there would be any performance advantages using WebServices.
    You could make your BAPI's available for other systems than Web Dynpro or SAP systems by turning them into WebServices.
    That could be an issue when you want to use different integration engines perhaps.
    A WebService might also be better for dealing with large number of requests I guess.
    When dealing with XML you can also use the advantage of XSLT for validating your data.
    The main advantages would still be the availability of your service for non-SAP systems.

  • Migrate COPA into BI7

    Hi gurus,
    I have implemented COPA but the data source in version 3.x. What would be the best way to migrate this into BI 7 version
    Any way to migrate the transfer and update rule into transformation ?
    Please advice
    Thank you

    Hi Sarvana,
    Migration of COPA is not different then others.,
    you need to follow below steps,
    If the Dataflow is from Data source to DSO and DSO to Cube
    1) Select DSO to Cube update rule and right click on
            update rule > additional function > create transformation
            This will copy and map all the objects with routine if exist and do
            the syntax check once before activation
    2)Then select the transfer rule from Data source to
             DSO to do the same thing as above.
    3) Then migrate the Data source , in   this always select the u2018with exportu2019 option which  will enable to revert back to 3.x version .. If needed
    4)If from one data source many targets are getting updated then use infosource
    5) Create DTP for all

  • Query Migration from bw3.5 into BI7.0

    All the queries will work if the peratining objects exists in the warehouse. Other than this there aren't any spl measures that actually needs to be taken care to while running the query on BI  7.0, to my knowledge.

  • Issue when migrating 3.x queries with 2 structures into BI7

    Hi all,
    We have a 3.x query where we have 2 structures (one in columns and one in rows).
    The Keyfigure is in 'Filter Values' and in each structure, selections and formulas are defined.
    The query works fine in 3.x
    when i try to 'save as' the query in BI 7 and run it, it gives an error that 'at least one keyfigure must be query'.
    we can't change the query layout.
    Is it an issue in BI 7?
    Is there any SAP Note for it?
    Or, is it Functionality in BI 7?

  • Problem in loading of flat file transaction data into BI7

    Hi Experts,
    I am new to BI7, got in problem in creation of Data source.
    I have fields in flat file are:
    CUSTID,SREPID,MATID,PRICE PER UNIT,UNIT,QUANTITY,TRANS.DATE
    one of the row under the above fields is
    C100,SR100,MAT01, 50,CS,5,19991005
    Created infoobjects are:
    IO_CUSID
    IO_SRID
    IO_MATID
    IO_PRC
    IO_QTY
    IO_REV
    0CALDAY
    IO_QTY was created with Unit/currency '0UNIT'
    In creation of Data source, under field tab system shown extra CS field, I did confuse that which infoobject should be map to this field. At the same time i created IO_QTY with 0UNIT so when i entered IO_QTY under infoobjects column, system automatically created 0UNIT infoobject. I didn't completly understand why one of the unit (CS) sat under the fields column. could you clarify me please.
    And also could you please tell me the procedure of creating transfer routine for sales revenue as we didn't have this object in flat file (SS). In earlier version of BW(Addison Wesley Step by Step book) i did this at infosource level. Here i am loading the data without infosource so just i would like to know is it possible to create transfer routine at DS level or do i need to create Infosource in this case. If it is the case also could you please make me understand with procedure to create transfer routine for sales revenue.
    Your solutions will be more appreciated with points.
    Thank you,
    Shri

  • Migrate a VMWare Windows XP into a Boot Comp partition

    Morning.
    I've installed Windows XP on a VMware 3.0.1 image. Now I want to install Boot Camp on my Mac running SL 10.6.2. and want to use a copy of my Windows XP installation in Boot Camp. How can I migrate it into the Boot Camp partition?
    TIA and kind regards, Friedrich

    Hallo Friedrich,
    sorry to say, but that's not possible.
    BootCamp needs to use a Windows installation CD in order to install Windows.
    And even if there would be a way, the hassle with the different hardware basis (native hardware with BootCamp versus virtualized hardware with VMWare) and thus the need for reinstallation of nearly all hardware drivers would make it unuseable.
    However the other way around, using a BootCamp Windows installation for a VMWare Windows is possible.

  • Migration of  EA3 connection settings into the final SQL-Developer 3.0

    The automatic connection migration of EA3 (3.0.03.97) connections into the final version 3.0 does not work. Any ideas what's wrong? I am using several folders to hold many connections to different database servers and database users. The migration of EA2 (3.0.0.45) connection settings was successful.

    Doesn't either with EA4.
    Only solution is to export them from your previous version (right-click Connections), then import into the new one.
    Have fun,

  • Migration Error - Cannot Insert Null Into MD_PROJECTS.ID

    Environment:
    Oracle 11g (11.2.0.2)
    SQL Server 2008 R2
    SQL Developer 3.0.03 Build Main-03.97
    Problem:
    We are migrating a SQL Server DB to Oracle and will need to perform this repeated times using updated versions of the SQL Server DB. I successfully did this several days ago using OFFLINE mode using a DB received in late March. There are two schemas in the SQL Server DB (dbo and EXA) that need to get migrated. Within SQL Server I attached the DB and renamed it to PTS. I then went through the wizard and ended up with two schemas in Oracle (dbo_PTS and EXA_PTS). I am now trying to repeat the process with a DB I just received. Within SQL Server I attached the DB and renamed it to PTS_April. It also has the same two schemas (dbo and EXA).
    My repository schema (MWREP) has the following permissions:
    GRANT RESOURCE TO MWREP WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT DBA TO MWREP;
    GRANT CONNECT TO MWREP;
    ALTER USER MWREP DEFAULT ROLE ALL;
    -- 6 System Privileges for MWREP
    GRANT UNLIMITED TABLESPACE TO MWREP WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT CREATE SESSION TO MWREP;
    GRANT CREATE ROLE TO MWREP WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT ALTER ANY TRIGGER TO MWREP WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT CREATE USER TO MWREP WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT CREATE VIEW TO MWREP;
    I step through the wizard with the following general parameters
    1) MWREP connection as the repository - I have dropped and recreated the repository objects.
    2) Offline Mode for the Source Database (I've successfully created the .ocp file)
    3) PTS_April selected in the Capture page
    4) Offline Mode for the Target Database
    5) Offline Mode for the Move Data
    6) Click Finish and it runs for about 30 seconds first saying Create Project and then saying Capture.
    I then get the following error message:
    Migration actions have failed. Check the migration report for details. : ORA-01400: cannot insert NULL into ("MWREP"."MD_PROJECTS"."ID")
    Any assitance solving this problem are appreciated.

    Hi, I had exactly the same problem and I resolved it be dropping all objects associated with the migration, this involves packages, types, views etc. Once I had ensured that i had a blank canvas, i stated again and it worked succesfully, good luck, Matt

  • Migrating an existing html template into Eloqua?

    I am new to Eloqua, in fact, it is not yet installed.  Thinking ahead, can anyone tell me if I will be able to migrate over an existing html email newsletter template into the platform?  Once the look/feel are in Eloqua, I expect that I could edit the hyperlinks to trigger notifications and populate open rate stats in the dashboard.  Curious if someone has had experience with a migration.  Was it successful or was it disastrous?  thanks.

    Before proceeding with NitroX, you need to manage your project as web application. The project should be organized in a war directory structure containing a valid web root.
    Ex:
    -- C:\MyProject\WEB-INF\web.xml - in this case MyProject itself will be the webroot
    -- C:\MyProject\site\WEB-INF\web.xml - in this case site can be the webroot
    Once you manage the project as web application you can start working with NitroX features. The following are different ways to manage the project as web application:
    -- Launch eclipse using NitroX shortcut
    -- If project is present in the workspace, right click and select "Manage as Web Application"
    -- or try to open a JSP/XML file in NitroX Editor (Open With > NitroX Editor)
    -- or File > New > Web Application Project > Existing Web Application - browse and select the project root and complete the wizard

    - Oracle 8.1.7 with thin JDBC driver

    There are two ways of doing this:
    a) You do a system copy using R3load
    This will give you a "free" reoganization because the tables will be loaded into the database as if you were doing a new installation. The disadvantage is, that it takes more time and good planning.
    b) you do a system copy using backup/restore together with the database upgrade
    This is a fast way to get your system upgraded and if something goes wrong you can still use the old system. Check
    Note 932722 - Upgrade to Oracle 10.2 during a database copy
    this is a note for Windows but you can adapt it to be used on Unix/HP-UX too.
    And just as a remark:
    The "free" support for Oracle 10g is ending next year in June (see Note 1339724 - Oracle 10.2 Extended Support free until July 31, 2011) - after that you have to buy additional support if you want to continue to run 10g. If you run now a migration/upgrade project, why not upgrade directly to 11g?

  • Mid 2013 Migration - Can't Sign Directly Into 2013 FE Server

    Migration to 2013 almost complete. While testing ran into the following scenario: 2010 FE Standard Server, 2013 FE Standard Server, 2013 Edge Standard Server. DNS entries still pointing at 2010 FE server (sipinternaltls, lyncdiscover, admin, dialin, meet,
    sip, sipinternal).
    If I sign out of Lync, go to cog - tools - options - personal - advanced - and set my internal server name to the 2013 FE standard server, I cannot sign in. Replication status between the three servers is "true". If I check the sign-in logs, I
    get the following:
    1 Login: FAIL (hr = 0x1)
    1 server(s) returned
    Server: "2010 lync server".domain.com:5061, internal, discoveredadded to list of auto-discovered servers
     signin to server=<empty server data>
       redirectedServersList="2013 lync server".domain.com, internal;
       autoRetryByErrorCode=1
       withRescheduleHint=0
       withAutoRetrials=0
       Login failed with permanent error or no auto-retrials
    Part of the errror makes sense because the DNS entries are still set to the 2010 server. What I do get is that I'm pointing directly at the 2013 server which seems to be working just fine, why would there be connection errors?

    Hi,
    Did the issued user homed in Lync server 2010 pool or Lync server 2013 pool?
    If the user homed in Lync server 2010 pool, then when you point to Lync server 2013 pool with manual login, you will fail to login.
    If the user homed in Lync server 2013 pool, did the user move from Lync server 2010 pool or create a new user in Lync server 2013 pool? You can try create a new user in Lync server 2013 pool to have a test.

  • Migrate Informix 7.31 Database into Oracle

    Dear all,
    I intend to import an Informix Dynamic Server 7.31 Database into Oracle; In this case it's the database of an old system which is not in use anymore, so the purpose is strictly readonly.
    No triggers, few procedures and functions.
    I'd like to import the data into Oracle 11g, is this possible or do I have to import into 10g and then upgrade to 11g?
    The docs say the migration workbench is the tool of choice, is there anyone who can provide me with some experience?
    How do I verify the migration was successful and the data was imported exactly the way it was?
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

    Andy,
    Informix can only be migrated using the older Oracle Migration Workbench 10.1.0.4 and as it says on the web site -
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/migration/informix-085032.html
    the only supported versions for the workbench are 9i and 10g.
    However, this is only for running the workbench itself and creating the repository. If you do an offline migration then you can run the scripts created by the migration utility in any version of Oracle and load the data using any version of SQL*Loader.
    It may be that you can create the repository for the 10.10.4 workbench in an 11g database but I've never tried it.
    As for testing there is a section in the documentation -
    Oracle® Migration Workbench User’s Guide Release 10.1.0.4 for Microsoft Windows 98/2000/NT/XP and Linux x86
    Chapter 7 - Testing the Oracle Database
    that discusses how you can test the migrated data.
    I've only ever run small test migrations and issues can depend on the complexity of the data and particularly stored procedures and embedded SQL.
    If you have no triggers, few procedures and functions then it should be fairly straightforward.
    It is planned to include Informix migration in a later version of SQL*Developer but there is no date for that yet.

    Mike
