Migration of orginals between two KPro storage systems

Hi Friends
I have created a document and checked in the originals into Storage category - SAP-SYSTEM (DMS_C1_ST-Default storage DMS (main files)).I have checked "Use KPro" configuration in "Define document type". Now, I need to migrate this originals into a fileshare system, which i have created as a new storage category(ZNEWDMS).How can I go about?
I know there is program DMS_KPRO_CONVERT available. But this program migrates documents from DMS storage(Vault, Server, Archive) to KPro storage. My requirement is to migrate the originals between two KPro storages ie From DMS_C1_ST to ZNEWDMS.
Could anybody help me on this?
Regards
S.Sivakumar

Hi,
I noticed this thread is a bit old, but I thought I would ask anyways.
I have the following situation:
Multiple SAP Instances, each with their own KPRO. A consolidation project to move towards a single SAP Instance. The multiple KPRO's stay as is.
I am assuming the easiest wat to go about this is to ALE all the metadata of the various SAP instances to the new instance. Would the KPRO links remain intact?
As part of the consolidation, Objects like materials and equipments have changed, e.g. Material 100 has changed to Material E100. For this I would assume a Bapi to update all the DIR's with the new Objects? This I am hoping would sever the old Object Link and create the new one?
Any suggestions please.
Thanks.
Freddie.

  • Switch over between two SAP PI systems for downtime minimization

    Hello Colleagues,
with our interfaces over our SAP PI 7.31 (ABAP/Java) system we assume we will run in a 7x24 h runtime scenario in the future.
Regarding Business Continuity we have to think about solutions which help us to handle downtimes greater than 15 min. regarding Support Package upgrade, Kernel update, EHP, etc.
The first idea is to implement a second equal SAP PI productive system in parallel to the existing one.
On the sender side a switch over implementation like WebDispatcher, Load Balancer, etc.
For maintenance all Interface traffic can run over PI Nr. 1 and PI Nr. 2 can be updated.
Afterward all interfaces will switched to PI Nr. 2 and PI Nr. 1 can go in maintenance.
Could be this as suitable solution for SAP PI Business Continuity or do you know better solutions?
    Many thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Jochen

    Hello Bernhard, Hello Holger,
many thanks for reply and providing these valuable information's.
The nZDM Concept is already known to me but it doesn’t answer all our questions.
Please let me explain a little more in detail.
Not currently but in the near future we assume some new interface over our SAP PI System will come with the requirement max. downtime lower thank 10 to 15 min. only allowed.
To be prepared regarding this possible scenario, we start thinking about possible different solutions.
First step was the nZDM Concept, of course. But it didn’t meet all our requirements regarding interface downtime.
    Some points are:
possible min. downtime is 30 min. and thus is over our requirements for interfaces
only for Update (and planed for Upgrade) the SAP PI application
all operating system and database related maintenance tasks are not covered by nZDM
all Hardware (Server, Storage, etc.) as well not covered by nZDM
Among others, because of these facts we start thinking about a second equal SAP PI system beside to existing productive one.
Than line 1 will take over the whole interface traffic and in the meantime the line 2 can go in maintenance. After finalizing the maintenance for SAP PI Nr. 2 we can switch the interface traffic to SAP PI Nr. 2 to get SAP PI Nr. 1 free for maintenance.
Regarding the topic “PI Federation” I found here in these documentation's several hints regarding this scenario (two SAP PI systems in an switch over scenario).
    PI Federation – An Overview
    among others  Page: 27
Business Continuity: Central PI integration Server with redundant Integration Server to be used in controlled switch over scenarios when upgrading or patching.
    or
How to Fast-Switch Integration Scenarios between SAP PI Runtimes Part II: Web Dispatcher
But I didn’t found any further detail documentation's regarding this approach.
The solution should fit as well to our existing hardware infrastructure.
For production we use an IBM (AIX) failover-cluster switch between our both data center.
Regarding our hardware infrastructure prerequisites and downtime requirements, which solution(s) do you recommend? Is PI Federation still an option?
    Many thanks in advance!

    Jochen

  • Migrating VM's between two repositories

I'm working with a customer that has OVM 3.1.1 running on 2 servers. They originally provisioned a repository of 2T but it turns out that was oversized for their environment. I have helped them create an 800GB repo and now wish to migrate all the VM's from the big one to the smaller one. There are also physical disks assigned to the VM's in question.
I assume the best way to do this would be to use a clone customizer and "move" the vm from one repo to the other- unchecking the physical disks so they don't get cloned as well. One problem I did run into was that on the cloned VM, the disks that were assigned are out of order (the first two are fine, but the swap virtual disk somehow got stuffed into a different slot number way down the list in the middle of the other physical disks. Thankfully I used ext3 LABELs to mount everything including swap, so that didn't affect things. We're also using ASM and I assume it puts some sort of signature on the disk once the ASM disk group is created so that if the disks show up out of order it won't matter. But it very well could have mattered- this seems like a big big problem and a bug in OVM Manager.
Either way- is there a better/easier way to move VM's between repos?

You can clone virtual disks to different repos.
Physical attachments shouldn't be an issue. Just detach them from your VM guests before you clone the VM. Attach them in the proper order. You're not changing VM servers. So..... ASM disks shouldn't matter as asmlib (if you're using asmlib and you should be) does mark the ASM disks with the proper headers/names. It does not matter what order they appear. The asmlib will find the path to the disk. UNLESS, you have restricted ASMlib to only search for certain disk paths. Most of the time this is necessary unless you have a lot of disks attached.
I never use more than one virtual system disk per host. I've never found a reason to do such. Its all the same repo. Same IO path/ IO paths. Why would you use different disks for swap? You just create a swap partition for your hosts on the same system disk...

  • Mirrored Storage between two servers

    Hello,
Is it possible to create redundant storage using two Windows 2012 r2 servers?  I've been looking all over and any HA options always reference having external shared storage presented to the cluster (I assume NAS/SAN).  I am also assuming that said
posts expect that whatever tech is being used for shared storage deals with keeping that data fault tolerant (e.g., mirrored SAN) and the Windows cluster need not be aware of that happening in the background.
Due to lack of any storage hardware in my environment I was hoping there was a way to create a redundant file share/system between two Windows 2012 r2 servers at which point I could then create an iSCSI target to present a virtual drive to an application
server cluster.  That way if one of the "storage servers" fails it won't take down the application running on the app server.  I looked into DFS however since the app locks its files those won't replicate across.
I hope my question wasn't too convoluted.
    Thanks for any guidance!

    Hi Bkboudreau,
If I am not misunderstand your question, you are finding the method for iSCSI target servers synchronize iSCSI data.
Replication of data between sites is very important in a multi-site cluster, and is accomplished in different ways by different hardware vendors. You can choose the hardware
storage vendor solution when you want to synchronize data between two shared storage.
You cannot use the feature in Windows Server 2008 called Distributed File System Replication (DFS-R) as your data replication method in a multi-site cluster. DFS-R only performs
its data replication after a file is closed. This works well for files such as documents, presentations, or spreadsheets, but it will not work for files that are held open, such as databases or virtual machines. You must choose a replication option other than
    DFS-R.

  • Live Migration between two WS2012 R2 Clusters with SCVMM 2012 R2 creates multiple objects on Cluster

    Hi,
I'm seeing an issue when migrating VM's between two 2012 R2 Hyper-V Clusters, using VMM 2012 R2, that have their Storage provided by a 4 Node Scale Out File Server Cluster that the two clusters share.
A migration between the two clusters is successful and the VM is operation but I'm left with two roles added to the cluster the VM has moved to instead of the expected one.
For example: Say I have a VM that was created on cluster A with SCVMM, resulting in a name of : "SCVMM Test-01 Resources"
I then do a live migration to Cluster B which has access to the same storage and then I end up with two new roles instead of one.
    "SCVMM abw-app-fl-01 Resources" and "abw-app-fl-01"
The "SCVMM abw-app-fl-01 Resources" is left in an unknown state and "abw-app-fl-01" is operational.
I can safely delete "SCVMM abw-app-fl-01 Resources" and everything still works but it looks like something is failing during the process.
    Has anyone else seen this?
I'll probably have one of my guys open a support ticket in the new year but was wondering if anyone else is seeing this.
    Kind regards,
    Jas :)

In my case the VMs where created in VMM in my one and only Hyper-V cluster (that's been created and is managed by VMM).
All Higly Available VM:s have a FCM role named "SCVMM vmname" where vmname is the name if the VM in VMM. On top of that a lot
of VM:s, but not all,  have a second role name named vmname. Lots of name in that sentence.
All VMs that have duplicates are using the role named vmname.
I thought it had to do with whether a VM had been migrated so I took one that never had been migrated and did. It did not get a duplicate.
Is there any progress on this?

  • Inspection lot for Mvt type 311 between two storage location only

    Hello all,
I want to create an inspection lot only whenever my material transfer between two particulars storage locations. e.g if i have multiple storage locations, then i need an inspection lot to be created whenever my material transferred from say X S.Loc to Y S.loc only. For other transfers i don't need to create an inspection lot even from Y to X.
For more clarity, suppose i have ten storage locations. i have also created one storage location for my Lab. So I want an inspection lot to be created only when my material transfer to my Lab storage location from any other storage location, not when i transfer from my LAB to any other S.Loc or between two S.Loc other than LAB.
I have activated inspection type 08 but it does not have a restricition on S.Loc.
So please suggest some solution for the same.

    Dear Amit
In this case what you can do is make a copy of 311 movement type, say Z11. Deactivate QM for 311 and activate QM for Z11
So whenever you want inspection lot to be created use Z11.
You can activate and deactivate QM in QCCO > Quality inspection > Inspection lot creation > inspection for goods movement

  • Integration between two HCM 9.1 systems

    Hi,
Our design requires two HCM 9.1 systems to be configured. One will host the core HCM data and another will host the recruiting solutions. For easy reference, I will name HCM environment as HCM and the HCM environment which will be used for recruit as TAM. Each will have a separate DB instance and TAM will contain an object copy of HCM.
The challenge now is to integrate these two systems so that data flows from HCM to TAM and vice versa. The current plan is to use E.I.Ps to exchange the data. For EIPs, the local node of one system should be configured as remote node of other system and also PS will not allow duplicate name. This will end up in renaming the local node(PSFT_HR) of one of the system.
The question I have is what kind of impact will renaming the delivered local node have on the system?
(Eg: Internal system processes like report distribution, XMLP, PRCS etc?)
Note: Oracle does not have a delivered approach between two 9.1 systems, it has delivered only between 9.0 and 9.1 which we are already referring to.
    Please help.
    Thank You,
    Regards,
    Cynthia

When you rename a node, the PeopleSoft Integration Broker automatically handles most of the dependencies involved such as deleting routings and other properties associated with the node.
However the live message data in Integration Broker Monitor remains unchanged. If that data still contains references to the node you want to modify, Integration Broker will prevent you from making the modification. You must remove all data from the live message tables before you can rename or delete the node definition. You can use this script "appmsgpureall.dms" to remove the live messages.(Make sure App server is shutdown before running this)

  • Can we use ALE to send purchase requisition between two systems?

    Dear Gurus,
Can we use ALE to send Purchase Requisition between two R/3 systems?
Source system is A. Target system is B. Target system B is the customer of A.
When A wants Material, it will check the availability.
If available, it will create Reservation.
If not available, it will create PR and send it to Target system B. Since B is a customer of A, B will, in turn, create PO and send it to its Vendors.
We plan to use ALE/IDoc. I tried to find out the message type for PR. But it's not available.
Can anyone suggest me how to do that?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Neeraj K.

    Hello,
The technical answer is yes. You could use the message PREQCR / PREQCR01 or PREQCR02 for your requirement of transferring Purchase Request via ALE. Since I am not a process expert, it would not be possible for me to comment on your process needs.
Please let me know if you have further technical queries.
    Hope this helps,

  • Client Copy between Two Different Systems

    Hi!!
Could someone please explain or provide any documentation which explains how to perform client copy between two r/3 systems of same version(ecc 6.0)
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vishwa.

    Hi,
Save the contents that need to be copied in a Transport request at source client.
Now at the target client system,
execute transaction 'SCC1' and give the TR number and execute it.
The changes from the source client system this way will get copied to destination client system.
    Reward if useful!

    Hi,
    Remote Client Copy (SCC9)
Remote client copy is performed in rare situation. When the client copy is done
between two different SAP systems, the copy is called remote client copy.
Before remote client copy is performed, a RFC connection must be set between those
    systems using SM59.
    1. Check RFC connection is working fine between two systems you want to perform
    remote client copy using SM59
    2. create client in the target system you want to copy the client
    3. login to target client using user SAP* and password PASS
    4. execute tcode SCC9 and select the RFC for the source system
    5. select the profile you want to copy like SAP_ALL
    6. select source client number you want to copy
    7. Select source client master data , mostly it is the same client number
    8. Now click on schedule as background job.
    9. Leave the background server field blank.
    10. Click schedule.
    11. Select Immediate from next screen.
    12. Save the screen.
    13. Client copy is scheduled now as a background job and client copy process started.
    14. The progress can be monitored using tcode SCC3
    Client Export/Import
A client transport consists of two steps:
First a client export extracts client data from the source client
to files at the operating system level. Then the data is imported
from the operating system files into the target client.
To perform a client export, follow these steps:
    1. Log on to the source client. From the SAP initial screen,
choose transaction SCC8 (Client Export). Select the data to
    be copied using a profile.
    2. Indicate the target system to which the client will be copied.
The target system must be defined in TMS as part of the
    transport domain.
    3. Begin the client export. Because copying is a lengthy
    process, use scheduled background processing.
Do not run any other client copy tool before the
    data export is finished.
This export process will generate up to three data files at the
    operating system level:
    • RO< number >: this file contains cross-client data
    • RT< number >: this file contains client-specific data
    • RX< number >: this file contains SAPscript texts
Depending on the type of data selected through the client
transport profile, the client copy command files added to the
buffer of the target system are as follows:
    • <S-SID>KO<number>: this file is for cross-client data
    • <S-SID>KT<number>: this file is for client-specific data
    • <S-SID>KX<number>: this file is SAPscript texts
The client export change requests are not imported when an
Import all takes place. Therefore, you must import these requests into the target client
using TMS. Choose one of the transport requests of the client transport in the Transport
Management System (TMS). The other transport requests belonging to this client
transport are then automatically added in the correct order.
After the import process has completed, post-import activities are required for object
generation steps. After completing the import, log on to the target client. From the SAP
systems initial screen, choose transaction SCC7

    Chandu
