Jagdish,
We don't currently support migration from DB2 on the OS/390 platform. If you need a solution now, you might investigate a solution from one of our migration partners like Ispirer: http://www.ispirer.com/products/

  • Migration fro Oracle for Windows to Unix

I have created a database (schema object along with database, tablespace, tables, relationships, etc.) in Oracle for Windows. Now I need to migrate the database to Oracle for Solaris. What's the best way to do this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Chris

Exporting the database on the Windows machine and then importing it into a new database on Solaris will be the easiest approach. You will want to create the tablespaces on the Solaris system manually before you do the import since you will want to change the file names and/or locations between Windows and Solaris.

  • Oracle into Solaris for Intel

Does the Oracle database for Solaris for SunSPARC, works into a
    Solaris for Intel?
Do you know, where I can download an Oracle for Solaris for
    Intel?
That Oracle database version is the only one, wich is not in the
    OTN download page.

I bought Sun Solaris 8 (Intel platform) from SUN - you just have to pay the media & shipping fees. Oracle 8i (for Intel Sun Solaris8) was included in the package .
Check on www.sun.com for more details.

  • Career change from open VMS system admin

    Hello Everyone !!
I was working as a Open VMS system admin for 3 years in a top  IT company .
Now i am  looking for a change and is willing to move in SAP. I am undergoing training in SAP Basis/NW admin . Can u tell me what career path should i take with kind of exp i had and what certifications should i proceed so as to tap with the recent  market demands and also to ensure a progressive career growth in this field.
    Your suggestions are invited.
    Thanks
    Vipul

    Hi Vipul,
SAP Basis is always in demand and NW admin knowledge will give you more opportunity. Certification on SAP Basis/NW Basis will be an added advantage for you.
Even after 3 years of experience in SAP you will be as a fresher and have to work very hard to tap the knowledge.
    All the best.

  • Oracle Database Release 1 (10.1.0.5.0) for solaris 10

Hi can anyone tell me where to download Oracle Database Release 1 (10.1.0.5.0) for solaris 10? Thanks in advance.

10gR1 is no longer supported - you will either need to open an SR with Support and ask them to ship you the media (assuming you have a valid license and a support contract) or see if you can download from http://edelivery.oracle.com. In either case, you will most likely get the base version of 10gR1 and you will need to patch it up to 10.1.0.5. The patch is only available in My Oracle Support. Is there a reason you need such an old version of the software ?

  • Reports 6I and Oracle 8i(8.1.6.0) for solaris

I have downloaded Reports 6i for solaris.
When I install it a ( Curses ) based GUI.
Comes on . After installing it. Oracle
stops working ? whats wrong ? it installs
its own NET8 driver which I believe is
    causing the problem.

The Net8 Configuration Assistant allows you to add databases into a file called tnsnames.ora. Do not manually edit this file or you will not be able to une Net8 Configuration Assistant unless you delete tnsnames.ora.
it asks me if i want to use a directory service?? please advise me what this is for and should i use it
    saying no is ok.
if i say no it then asks me to pick 81, or 8 i picked 8i
8i is the correct answer here
then it asks me to enter the service name?? i dont have a clue what it means
the service name (also know as SID in 8.0) is the name of your database.
then select protocol for database you want to access?? again i have no idea
The common protocol for Oracle is TCP/IP
    then a host name??
the host name (is the name of your computer or another computer you want to connect to with an Oracle database running on it).
    1. To find the name of your computer, click START>SETTINGS>CONTROL PANEL
    2. Open the Network Icon
    3. Select the Identification tab
    4. The name of your computer is listed
    Good Luck,
