Migration report 6i 10G (10.1.2.0.2)

Hello, I have a problem for the pìmigrazione from Report 6i to Report 10G in Linux .
I use in order to convert such code:
/rwconverter.sh source=/u01/app/oracle/OraHome_2/RPT.RDF stype=rdffile dest=RPT.RDF dtype=rdffile userid=ora/ora@net compile_all=yes
But they give the following error to me: REP-0152: Positional argument specified after keyword.
You have some idea?
Thanks

Does this happen for all reports or for only one report?
Try the same for one simple report and check whether it works fine.
Also if u have reports builder 10g open in 10g and check whether report
gets upgraded.

  • Issue migrating reports with Graphical features.

    Hi guys,
I am working on migrating reports from 10g to 11g and I have an issue with the reports which contains a Graph. They are giving the following error when I run them against the 11g report server(they are running fine against the 10g server with out any issues)
    The report terminated with error:
    REP-56048: Engine rwEng-1 crashed., job Id: 24.
I have searched on Google, for a solution to fix them, the closest I found was Installing Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home, but this was said for 9i and 10g, you can find that in the below oracle document:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/reports/graph-faq-with-style-094084.html#q101
Does anyone know, if I can Install Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home for 11g too?, to make them work at least, if not modifying the existing ones?
    Thanks,
    Sona.

    Hi Sona,
unfortunately installing Graphics 6i in a separate OH for 11g wont work. This option was only possible until Reports 10g as a temporary option while migrating to the new BI beans graphing functionality included in 10gR2 and 11g.

    Migrating Oracle Graphics 6i charts
How do I migrate my charts from Oracle Graphics to the new graph format in Oracle9i Reports or Oracle Reports 10g?
Oracle9i Reports Release 1 onwards, Oracle Graphics has been desupported. Oracle9i Reports and Oracle Reports 10g use BI Beans to generate graphs. Because of the underlying technology, there is no direct migration path from Oracle Graphics to the BI Bean graphing functionality. As such, the user will need to rewrite all of their graphs using the new Graph Wizard within the Reports Builder.

Can I still run my existing Oracle Reports Developer 6i reports containing Oracle Graphics charts in Oracle Reports?
As noted in the Oracle Reports Statement of Direction, Oracle Graphics is no longer shipped with Oracle Reports. However, as part of the migration path, you can still run Oracle Graphics charts in Oracle Reports if you install the Oracle Graphics 6i engine in a separate Oracle Home. You should only maintain Oracle Graphics 6i as a temporary measure while you redesign your charts using the new Graph Wizard. For further details on how to configure Oracle to use Oracle Graphics 6i, please see the Graphics Migration section in the Oracle9i Application Server Migration from Oracle9iAS Release 1 (1.0.2.2.x) to Release 2 (9.0.2) manual.

Can I modify or add Oracle Graphics 6i charts to my reports with Oracle9i Reports or Oracle Reports 10g?
No. You must have a separate installation of Oracle Graphics 6i Builder in order to modify your existing Oracle Graphics 6i charts since Oracle Graphics is not shipped with Oracle Reports. We strongly recommend that you migrate your charts to the new standard in Oracle Reports.

  • Migrate reports from 6i to 10g

    Hello friends,
I want to migrate reports created in oracle 6i report builder
    to
    oracle 10g.
Please give me steps for that.
    Arvind2

It happens on all machine. We use browser to launch the application and the report is called from forms (10.1.2). We didn't change any code in report and neither the fonts (Tahoma). In 6i, client server environment, windows can find the font. I guess in 10g web environment, the font is not as default. HP Laserjet 8000N is a network printer which I use to testing my report. everything is fine in 6i but not 10g. Here is my question.
    1. How to check printer setup? Should I use the default font from Linux instead of Tahoma?
    2. I found a note in metalink, Note:356221.1 which explains the procedures to deploy reports from windows to Linux. I am not sure my problem is related to the font or something else...
    Thanks for you reponse.

  • Urgent Help--Mass Migration of Reports to 10g

    Hi All,
We have about 350 reports that we want to migrate to 10g. Is there a way to migrate them all using a batch program or some tool instead of opening them one by one in the reports developer?
    PLEASE HELP URGENT.
    Thank a lot in advance.

Okay, I see. The supported migration path from Reports 2.5 to 9i, is to first migrate to 6i & then to 9i/10g.
    Please check this Metalink Note 90026.1 "Migrating Reports V2.5 --> V3.0 --> V6.0"
You might also be able to use rwconverter (in 6i I think the binary is called rwconv60) instead if Reports Builder:
    rwconverter userid=scott/tiger@oracle batch=yes
    source=<reportname> stype=rdffile DTYPE=REPFILE OVERWRITE=yes logfile=log.txt overwrite=yes
You can write a batch-file to convert all of your 350 Reports.

  • Migration of  Reports from 10g environment to 11g environment

Can anyone tell me the steps or how to migrate reports from oracle hyperion interactive reporting 10g to oracle hyperion interactive reporting 11g environment??
Any kind of help would be greatful and highly appreciated.

OK, apologies for asking the wrong question.
Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System Workspace, Fusion Edition 11.x does, obviously, integrate with the Oracle Business Intelligence 10.x today. EPM is the Workspace and where the Hyperion Interactive Reporting bqy files reside.
Users logging in to https://your_domain.com/workspace are able to consume IR files.
Concerning the upgrade of OBI 10.x to 11g, assuming that EPM remains, there should be no impact on the viability of the IR files.
Having said that, we should seek verification that the OBI 11g product does nothing to adversley affect the integration with EPM.
    I hope that helps.

  • Excel Output when Converting 6i Reports to 10g

I am attempting to convert about 25 reports from Oracle Reports 6i to Oracle Reports 10g (10.1.0.4.2). The existing 6i system uses the Oracle Portal for job submission. The report server and our Oracle database are on Sun/Sparc/UNIX computers for both 6i and 10g. We have no space issues. In 10g, users will submit reports from Oracle Forms, running on Windows desktops.
I am an experienced programmer in Windows reports and forms using MS-Access and Visual Basic. I am new to Oracle Reports and Forms.
The existing 6i reports were set up so that a single report can be generated in either PDF or Excel format by just changing the DESFORMAT parameter from PDF to DELIMITED. We also have multiple optional parameters. In 10g, I cannot get the Excel to generate when there are groupings or summaries in the PDF version.
In the 6i version, headers, footers, and summary lines were enabled or disabled in appropriate triggers through PL/SQL code:(IF :DESFORMAT = ‘DELIMITED’ THEN RETURN TRUE/FALSE;). In order to get the Excel spreadsheet we use the following URL: http://server1/reports/rwservlet?my_reports&report=labor_detail&destype=cache&desformat=delimited&mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel&paramform=no&BEGIN_DATE=01%2F01%2F2009&END_DATE=01%2F31%2F2009&RESOURCE_TYPE=100
When I converted the 6i report to 10g, I changed the following properties to support web layout:
    •     Report > Report Escapes
    •     Report > XML Settings
    •     Web Source: <%@ page contentType. . . and <rw:include. . .
    •     Paper Layout> Body> Web Settings > Table Attributes
    •     Changed triggers from :DESFORMAT = ‘DELIMITED’ to :DESFORMAT = ‘SPREADSHEET’; also tried deleting these triggers altogether
In hopes of getting something to work, I rewrote a report for Excel only, but it will only accept one parameter. When multiple parameters are provided, it displays the correct data, but in paper layout.
In the 10g version that is for Excel only, we use the following URL:
    http://server2/reports/rwservlet?my_reports&report=labor_detail&DESTYPE=CACHE&DESFORMAT=SPREADSHEET&WHERE_CLAUSE%20AND%20WORK_DATE>=’01/01/2009’%20AND%20WORK_DATE<=’01/31/2009’%20AND%20RESOURCE_TYPE=’100’
I tried submitting the 10g report with the &MIMETYPE parameter, and it appears to open up the PDF file in Excel. I am using .rdf format, but I don’t see any difference when I use .jsp format.
Is there a way I easily convert my existing reports and parameters so that they will produce Excel format?

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I don't think I need to use the Forms Migration tool since the form has already been migrated from 6i to 10G. (Since I am now using an existing 10G form rather than trying to convert my 6i form.) I will check the FORMS_PATH. Is that in my registry file? I'm pretty sure the library has been compiled in 10G since it is attached to the other 10G forms I have and they work fine. But, just in case, how do I compile the library? And back to the FORMS_PATH: I still have the 6i version of Forms Builder on my PC. Will changing the path affect using 6i? Probably yes.

  • Reports 9i/10g J2EE Thin Client for Websphere Application Server 5.x /6.x

We are having Reports developed in 6i which needs to be migrated to Reports 9i/10G and we want to deploy these reports in web using Websphere Application Server 5.x /6.x without Oracle iAS.
Do we have Reports 9i/10g J2EE Thin Client for Websphere Application Server 5.x /6.x and if so please let me know.
Also if anybody has the configuration details please let me know?
    Thanks in Advance.

No there is not. I don't think you can use reports services with Websphere - besides as far as I know it is not supported by Oracle (not anywhere in their support matrix).

  • Font Issue in Reports Developer 10g Linux

    Dear Members,
I am facing a problem while migrating the reports from 6i to 10g Linux. When I migrate any report in 10g Linux, I have to set the format and font name along with its size.
Is there any way to have the same font and size after migrating?
I have to migrate more than 300 reports and it will take so much time to set the formatting once again.
Please send me the steps to configure the font in Linux or send me any meta-link note #
    With kind regards,
    Muhammad Yousuf.

    hello,
You have to check first the fonts you are using in your reports and from there you can either install them on your AS or make your reports compatible with your deployment platform etc...
Please check www.degenio.com as I have documented the problems we had when deploying our reports on UNIX.
    Thanks

  • Error while migrating reports from one instance to another(no torch seen)

    Hi,
I am facing this problem when I am trying to migrate reports from UAT to Production. After migration when I try to run the report from Discoverer plus, I cannot see the torch symbol which is general if we have any parameters for that report. So, I again migrate the same .eex file and now I see the torch.
Can any one throw some thoughts why is this happening, why I cannot see the torch symbol in the first time itself?
    Thanks,
    Srini.

    Hi Srini
The list of values is not being associated with the item the first time around. The order in which the items are selected is important so for example if lists of values were imported first without the items upon which they depend they will be ignored. Running the import a second time will cause the LOVs to recognize their associated item and thus the association will be made.
Generally I do two exports. I will export my folders and workbooks first and then export my item classes.
Hope this helps explain what you are seeing.
    Best wishes
    Michael

  • ORACLE reports Build 10g - Data Model - query - If statement in Alias ?

I have the following select statement. It has the alias Survivors, Deaths and "All
With the ORACLE reports Build 10g - Data Model - I have the following query statement. I require the alias to change. Can the following be done.
Cases". Is it posible to use :P_LANGUAGE variable to say that -- IF :P_LANGUAGE = FRENCH THEN alias are Survivants for survivors, Décès for Deaths, Tous_les_cas for All Cases. Please advise
SELECT ALL T_NTR_MULTIBAR.CAT, T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_LEFTBAR AS Survivors,
T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_MIDDLEBAR AS Deaths, T_NTR_MULTIBAR.NUM_CASES_RIGHTBAR AS "All Cases"
    FROM T_NTR_MULTIBAR
    WHERE INSTANCE_NUM = :P_INSTANCENUM
    order by ORDERS

It is no problem, you can automatically change the complete query before the report is running, which delivers you different kind of values. But the alias names does not change in the group of the data-model, although two query are running with different alias names at different times. In the data model you see the alias names of the first implemented select statement, which are the column fields in the layout.

  • Catalog Migration Problem from 10g to 11g

    Hi,
When i am trying to migrate catalog of 10g to 11g. They have some problems
    1. In obiee 10g (under root folder) it shows only around 5 dashboards. But actually when i am seeing in the I catalog manager of obiee 10g it shows 12 dashboards and pages.
Can some please help me on this how to see the other dashboards and page in obiee 10g ( under root folder ).
    2. When i am trying to migrate the catalog folder in obiee 11g it also shows around 5 dashboards. And other dashboards are not seeing after migration.
Can someone please help me on this how to see the other dashboards and pages in obiee 11g as well.

    Hi,
In Webcat, there can be some contents that are inconsistent/invalid. And such contents have 0 byte size. Please check if dashboards files that are not visible and their corresponding .atr files have 0 byte size.
Other possibility can be dashboards are hidden for the user-id you are using for login.
Please mark as helpful/correct if this reply helps.
    Thanks,
    Vijay
