MII Logging in Netweaver Log

Hello,
within the SAP Netweaver Log we get lots of logging data from MII. Even Information at the debug level is captured (begin and end of sequences, begin and end of actions). Where can we specify the log level? Somewhere in MII or inside Netweaver?
Kind Regards,
Matthias

Hello,
thanks for your input. We've found the possibility to configure the log level inside the Netweaver Administration:
SAP NetWeaver Administrator > System Management > Configuration > Log Configuration.
Select "Tracing Locations", select ROOT LOCATION > sap > xmii
Thanks,
Matthias

  • Create Application specific Log under NetWeaver 7.1 SP3

    Hi
    I want to create application specific Log and read the following article https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/f361cbea-0c01-0010-a3a0-8948bebb0a23

    And I find out the documents are not updated for Netweaver 7.1 SP3... It costs more time for me to find out a solution.

  • Direction for a developer trying to access information from Netweaver logs

    I’ve been charged with developing an interface for our company’s software into the Java based Netweaver portion of SAP with no prior knowledge of any of it other than a background in Java programming. To my dismay, the shear amount of information available has made what I need like looking for a piece of hay in a stack of needles. So hopefully I've posted this question in the proper forum and someone will be able to point me in the right direction.
    The Java program I'm supposed to create simply has to access a (User Exit?) log file and pull out basic tidbits like: Requestor, Replier, Response Time, CPU Time, etc, and then I will later write it out to a simple csv file that our application can process. So the basic questions I have at this point is this:
    Do I have to develope this in Netweaver developer studio (I have it installed alongside a netweaver full sneak preview edition) or can I just crank out a Java app in good ole eclipse?
    In the program, will I be making some kind of call to establish a connection with an SAP system, or can I just sit the program on a  main SAP machine and have access to the information I need through other method calls?
    What calls, or where do I look to find what specific calls, I need to make to get info like (Requestor, Replier, Response Time, CPU Time, Request/Reply Size, etc)? Basically, what API's will I be using to get information out of Netweaver log files and where can I find documentation on them?
    Any direction will be appreciated even if just to the proper place for a forum post of this nature or documentation that will send me down the right path.

    Hi Chris,
    Let me try to understand your requirement.
    I believe you are trying to get the 'statistics' information like Response time, CPU time etc. for SAP (ABAP) Transactions, right?
    If so, you should be looking at the 'Workload Analysis' and STAT records in the ABAP system.  Go to transaction 'ST03N' and try to understand what kind of information is available for you related to workload analysis (for earlier releases, use transaction 'ST03'.  For Global central analysis use transaction 'ST03G').
    To know more about STAT records in CCMS, here the help page:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c7/69bcc3f36611d3a6510000e835363f/frameset.htm
    To know more about System log details, visit this help url:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/1f/8311784bc511d189750000e8322d00/frameset.htm
    The best way to create reports for Statistical records is using CPH (Central performance History) and through BI.  What it means is, you don't have to create any JCO programs.  But you will have to configure CPH/CCMS and the BI connectivity details. Once you do that you will be able to make use of the BI reports available as part of the 'BI business package for CCMS'.  To know more about it, please visit SMP link: http://service.sap.com/monitoring (requires login).
    Hope it is helpful.

  • Adobe Flash can be installed, but must be install EVERY time I log out and log back in. Why doesn't it stay? How can I fix this? (I have Firefox 6.0.2 and Flash 10.3)

    I have searched through the FAQs and find stuff on "crashing". I have not had any trouble with flash crashing, but I can't keep it installed.
    If I install flash, then it stays as long as I am logged in, even if I close firefox. Once I log out and log back in, I lose Flash and have to re-install it.

    I was having the same issue with installing Flash player 10.3.183.10 in both Firefox 6.0.2 and Explorer 9 -- the Task Manager would show the installer running as a process, but it would never actually install anything. It would just sit there until I killed it or rebooted.
    It seems that there are multiple versions of the separate installers needed. The installer that worked for me in Firefox was
    install_flash_player_10.exe -- a 3,017KB file
    and for Explorer, it was:
    install_flash_player_10_active_x.exe -- a 3,054KB file.
    Neither of those files was sent by the main updater page, nor did that page offer the 239KB uninstall_flash_player.exe, which is needed to uninstall the previous Flash version before one can even begin to try to update it. I had to pound through the messages in the forums to find links to those "full" installers.
    It is working now in both browsers, but jeepers creepers, it shouldn't take all day to find the installers for something that gets updated as often as Flash does.

  • [Solved] Pacman.log no longer logging maybe systemd

    Hi, I upgraded a couple of days ago on the 11th to systemd system, I am using 86_64 awesome DE, I ran Syu yesterday and this morning I found mplayer was acting poorly so I went to check pacman.log to see what was updated. Pacman.log hadn't logged since the 11th when I upgraded, although I would like to figure out mplayer, I am more interested in the log files. I also found that my boot log file is not recording boot information from the same time although the errors.log has information in it.

  • Windows 7 takes 15 mins to log in and log off - School Enviroment

    Hi All,
    We're getting a very weird issue at present, our environment consists of 20
    students with Windows 7 SP1. They login with roaming profiles. We've noticed
    that when they login it takes up to 15 mins and logging off/shutting down takes
    about 15 mins also. We have to re-image the PC's to get them working back to
    normal however the problem just comes back!
    What we've done so far,
    Checked cables - all is ok
    Used the Verbrose regedit on start-up to find that we needed to install
    this hotfix from Microsoft (KB2537556) (worked for a week but then back to
    normal, only for logging in not logging off)
    Tried some GP changes
    Local GP change - time waiting for network reduced to 15 secs then to 0 - no
    change
    Local GP change to remove all desktop items to see if that was causing
    changes - no change
    Only affects Student PC's which are used by all students
    Any help would be great :)
    MR

    Hi,
    First please check to see how big the student’s profiles are, what is the result if we compare it with teacher’s?
    You can also enable boot logging in process monitor to find the cause of the slow logon, please refer to this blog.
    The Case of the Veeerrry Slow Logons
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/markrussinovich/archive/2012/07/02/3506849.aspx
    And check whether you have Enabled “Delete cached copies of roaming profiles” policy setting, enable this policy will delay logoff as some yet-to-be-identified component in the OS is triggering Windows desktop search to cache settings on behalf of each locally
    cached profile at logoff.

  • Output log to application log in application server

    Hi Guys,
    I am pretty new on J2EE, I created a web application and deployed it on to the oracle application server. I found out that I can view the log file(application.log) for that particular web application on the application control page. What I want to achieve is outputing some custom log on to the same built-in log file. Could anyone please show me how to do that?
    Thanks advance
    James

    Hi, I figured out that ADF is a oracle's implementation of JSF, I tried above approach it did log to a log.xml in the particular folder. However, I would like to output to a log file that you can actually view in the Enterprise Manager Console...
    Into the log below:
    Log Text
    08/04/16 10:13:33.431 10.1.3.3.0 Started
    08/04/16 10:13:36.486 webapp: 10.1.3.3.0 Started
    (End of Log File) = entries updated since last refresh
    Is it possible?
    Cheers!

    I just signed up for a 30 day trial and I'm really excited to use the software for movie editing, however I just saw this post after I was trying to use Premiere Pro and sadly I don't have a machine with 64 Bit OS. I was just seeing if there is any way I can cancel my free trial and then start it back up after I get a new computer. I'm really excited about using Premier Pro but want to make sure I can try it out with a film project before purchasing and I don't know how long it will take to get a new computer.

  • The file structure online redo log, archived redo log and standby redo log

    I have read some Oracle documentation for file structure and settings in Data Guard environment. But I still have some doubts. What is the best file structure or settings in Oracle 10.2.0.4 on UNIX for a data guard environment with 4 primary databases and 4 physical standby databases. Based on Oracle documents, there are 3 redo logs. They are: online redo logs, archived redo logs and standby redo logs. The basic settings are:
    1. Online redo logs --- This redo log must be on Primary database and logical standby database. But it is not necessary to be on physical standby database because physical standby is not open. It doesn't generate redo log. However, if don't set up online redo log on physical standby, when primary failover and switch standby as primary. How can standby perform without online redo logs? In my standby databases, online redo logs have been set up.
    2. Archived redo logs --- It is obviously that primary database, logical and physical standby database all need to have this log file being set up. Primary use it to archive log files and ship to standby. Standby use it to receive data from archived log and apply to database.
    3. Standby redo logs --- In the document, it says A standby redo log is similar to an online redo log, except that a standby redo log is used to store redo data received from another database. A standby redo log is required if you want to implement: The maximum protection and maximum availability levels of data protection and Real-time apply as well as Cascaded destinations. So it seems that this standby redo log only should be set up on standby database, not on primary database. Am my understanding correct? Because I review current redo log settings on my environment, I have found that Standby redo log directory and files have been set up on both primary and standby databases. I would like to get more information and education from experts. What is the best setting or structure on primary and standby database?

    FZheng:
    Thanks for your input. It is clear that we need 3 type of redo logs on both databases. You answer my question.
    But I have another one. In oracle ducument, it says If you have configured a standby redo log on one or more standby databases in the configuration, ensure the size of the current standby redo log file on each standby database exactly matches the size of the current online redo log file on the primary database. It says: At log switch time, if there are no available standby redo log files that match the size of the new current online redo log file on the primary database. The primary database will shut down
    My current one data gurard envirnment setting is: On primary DB, online redo log group size is 512M and standby redo log group size is 500M. On the standby DB, online redo log group size is 500M and standby redo log group size is 750M.
    This was setup by someone I don't know. Is this setting OK? or I should change Standby Redo Log on standby DB to 512M to exactly meatch with redo log size on primary?

  • Exception.log and mail.log stopped logging (MX7)

    Hi all - we have been experiencing intermittent problems with our MX 7.02 server & checked the log files to help diagnose the problem.
    However both exception.log and mail.log appear to have stopped logging information in June 2010.
    The size of the logfiles is only 178K and 34K.
    Does anyone know why they've stopped & how to restart the logging?
    Many thanks

    On CF7 as far as I know you need to restart the CF server. In CF9 you
    can selectively enable/disable logging for those files and thus
    attempt to restart logging.

  • Routing logs to individual log file in multi rules_file MaxL

    Hi Gurus,
    I have been pretty late to this forum after long time. I have a situation here, and trying to find out the best way for operational benefits.
    We have an ASO cube (Historical) keeps 24 months snapshot data and refreshed monthly just like last 24 months rolling. The cube size is around 18.5 GB. The input level data size is around 13 GB. For monthly refresh the current process rebuilds the cube from scratch, deletes the 1/24 snapshot as it is going to add last months snapshot. The entire process takes 13 hours of processing time becuase the server doesn't have number of CPUs to support parallel operations.
    Since we recently moved to 11.1.2.3, and have ample amounts of CPUs(8) and RAM (16gb), I'd like to take davantage of parallelism, and will go for incremental load. Prior to that since the outline build is EPMA driven I'd only like to rebuild the dimension with all data, essentially restructures the DB, with data after metadata refresh, so that I can keep my history intact, and only proceed for loading the last month's data after clearing out the 1st snapshot.
    My MaxL script looks like below:
    /* Set up logs */
    set timestamp on;
    spool on to $(mxlLog).log;
    /* Connect to Essbase */
    login $key $essUser $key $essPwd on $essServer;
    alter application "$essApp" load database "$essDB";
    /* Disable User Access to DB */
    alter application "$essApp" disable connects;
    /* Unlock all objects */
    alter database "$essApp"."$essDB" unlock all objects;
    /* Clear all data for previous month*/
    alter database "$essApp"."$essDB" clear data in region 'CrossJoin({([ACTUAL])},{[&CLEAR_PERIOD]})' physical;
    /* Load SQL Data */
    import database "$essApp"."$essDB" data connect as $key $edsUser identified by $key $edsPwd using multiple rules_file 'LOADDATA','LOADJNLS','LOADFX','LOAD_J1','LOAD_J2','LOAD_J3','LOADDELQ' to load_buffer_block starting with buffer_id 1 on error write to "$(mxlLog)_LOADDATA.err";
    /* Selects and build an aggregation that permits the database to grow by no more than 300% */
    execute aggregate process on database "$essApp"."$essDB" stopping when total_size exceeds 4 enable alternate_rollups;
    /* build query tracking views */
    execute aggregate build on database "$essApp"."$essDB" using view_file 'gw';
    /* Enable Query Tracking */
    alter database "$essApp"."$essDB" enable query_tracking;
    /* Enable User Access to DB */
    alter application "$essApp" enable connects;
    logout;
    exit;
    I am able to achive performance but not satisfactory. So I have couple of queries below.
    1. Whether bule shaded codes can further be tuned. I have major problem in clearing only 1 month snapshot : where I require to clear one scenario and the designated 1st month.
    2. Multiple rules_file statement, how do I write logs of each load rule to separte log files instead one, my previous process is wrting error-log for each load rule in separte log file and consolidates at the end of batch run to a single file for the whole batch execution.
    Apprecaite any help in this regrad.
    Thanks,
    DD

    Thanks Celvin. I'd rather route MaxL logs in one log file and consolidate into the batch logs instead of using
    multiple log files.
    Regrading Partial Clear:
    My worry is, I first tried partial clear with 'logical', that too took considerable amonut of time, and the
    difference between logical and physical clear is only 15-20 minutes. FYI, I have 31 dimensions in this cube,
    and the MDX clear script that use Scenario->ACTUAL and Period->&CLEAR_PERIOD (SubVar) is of dynamic hierarchy
    type.
    Is there a way I can rewrite the clear data MDX script in betterway  so that it will clear faster, than this
    <<CrossJoin({([ACTUAL])},{[&CLEAR_PERIOD]})>>
    Does this clear MDX have any effect on dynamic/stored hierarchy nature of the dimension, if not, then what
    would be optimized way to write this MDX?
    Thanks,
    DD

  • How to retrieve users logging-in and logging-out date and times in SharePoint

    At the moment I am using SherePoint 2013 with a few tenants.
    I am going to have access to the users logging-in and logging-out dates and times.
    For instance, I would like to know the detail of the dates and times which a particular user of a tenant has logged-in and logged-out during the past few months.
    Any idea?

    You can retrieve that info from the IIS log files. Maybe you can use a free IIS reporting tool that I've built and adjust it to your own needs, you can get it here:
    http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/The-SharePoint-Flavored-5b03f323
    Btw, in a web environment usually there is no such thing as the log-out date and time because the end user just stops making requests. So, you've got to take a look at the last request and by default, after 20 minutes the session times out and you can assume
    the session has ended.
