In addition, would you please let me confirm whether install the Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 via
Windows Update, or download the installation package and then install manually?

By the way, you can also install the Service Pack 1 in
Clean Boot mode manually. Then please check if install successfully.

Transfer from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on the Mac.

I want to transfer from Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP to Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 on the Mac. My problem is I have lost my catalog and Windows XP. I need help.
I have installed the newest Mac version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 (PSE 12 Mac) and it seems to work fine but I have not been able to access my old (XP, PSE6) catalog file.
I am working on a MacBook Air running OSX version 10.9.2. I have been using Parallels Desktop 9 Switch-to-Mac-Edition™ to run Windows virtual machines. I had been working for over a year running Photoshop Elements 6 on Windows XP virtual machine. The XP operating system was updated to 2/28/14.
When I installed Windows 8, the Parallels program initially offered me a choice of virtual machines, Window XP or Windows 8. I could use the XP version to work with Photoshop Elements 6 as before and thought I could be leisurely about transferring my Photoshop operations to the Mac side.
However, without my knowingly doing anything to dispose of Windows XP, I have “lost” Windows XP. Perhaps it occurred when I updated to Windows 8.1. At any rate, now I have access only to Windows 8.1.
To compound the problem the Time Machine backup program for the Mac was not backing up the XP virtual machine files as I had thought. I have since corrected the settings but I do not have a copy of Windows XP nor of the Adobe Photoshop Elements catalog which I used in the past.
Moreover, I do not have a workable Windows XP disk; the only one I could find is from Dell and it does not load on my MacBook Air. I see Windows XP disks offered by Amazon for about $30 and have thought about buying a copy to help see if I could accomplish the transfer of the catalog file to my Mac. I would use XP only to accomplish this transfer.
I am not completely confident that reinstalling Windows XP would actually enable me to do the transfer and I can foresee potential big problems. Therefore, before taking that step I thought that I would check with you to see if there is a way to find the catalog file and perhaps to modify it so that I could work in the Mac Environment.
I have used Elements to improve and organize over a thousand travel and family photos taken with a pocket size digital camera. Being a nonprofessional, I have edited mainly by cropping and using Quick Fix but have many hours invested. Yes, I still have the originals and probably could have redone much of that work with the time I have invested in trying to find the missing XP and catalog.
I have found two large HDS files (Windows XP.hdd and Windows XP (2).hdd) that were created 7/15/12. I suspect they may be important but am not sure what they are. I read that HDS files are commonly Windows media digital rights management files, DRMs. HDS files may also be used by hierarchical data systems. Do the names suggest anything about Photoshop?
Can you help me find the catalog and transfer it for use with the Mac Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

Premiere Elements 13 Windows 8.1 (assumed 64 bit).
From what I have read, the Canon XF100 uses the MPEG2 Long GOP video compression, however it uses a MXF file extension (container/wrapper format).
Premiere Elements (any version) does not support MXF files.
Based on existing information, you would need to convert the MXF file to another format which is supported by Premiere Elements.
Apparently lots of the MXF converters available online.
Have you been there and done that?

It would appear that you are destined for the Adobe Photoshop Elements Forum since your question is related to Photoshop Elements and not Premiere Elements which is the focus program where you have posted.
But, while the arrangements are being made, here are a few things for you to think about if you have not already
1. Reset Tools - Select Brush Tool, then
2. Delete Settings File
Go to Full Editor/Edit Menu/Preferences/General and click on the option "Reset Preferences on Next Launch".

after a lot of trying and contacting the Apple support in the netherlands...... it is recognized by iTunes and iPod updater. it look like it works but it is not possible to disconnect the iPod. I'll tryed the hard way, and have the next problem; the display of my iPod sign up with the Apple-logo and map-attention, the hard disc is working and
it is not possible to reset the iPod. also read and tryed the the next issue

What browser are you using?
The blog post contains significant information related to Premiere Elements 12 Motion Tracking. But, if you cannot access it for some reason, then we will need to troubleshoot via communications in the thread.
SG has asked if you are able to create Motion Tracking effect using one of the graphics included with the program. We will watch for your response to him on that question. Please include in your message to him whether you can obtain your file to track the object using Organizer Tab or Project Assets routes as well as Graphics Tab.

SOLUTION
Various tutorials and online comments have pointed to places other than Graphics Tab where objects can be selected and used to track the moving object in the video when the Motion Tracking workspace is opened in the Expert or Quick workspace.
Organizer Tab, Expert or Quick workspace to access Elements Organizer 12. Cascade Windows and drag a video or photo from Elements Organizer into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Project Assets, Expert workspace. Drag text, video, or photos from opened Project Assets into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Graphics Tab, Expert or Quick workspace. Create a png file (graphic) or prtl file (text) and place it in Clip Arts in the Program Files of the program to have a permanent resource. Then from Graphics Tab, drag the newly created graphic or text object into yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.

Windows doesn't recognize WD Elements all the sudden but Ubuntu does

Hey guys A couple of months ago I bought a WD Elements HDD and everything worked fine up till a few weeks ago. All the sudden the drive became unreadable. It does show in "My Computer", but not with the name I gave it. It has the name "Local Disk (I)" and nothing more. And what's even worse, when I doubleclick it, my explorer crashes. The same goes for device management. The drive is basicly unreachable. Some crucial information though. From the moment I bought the HDD I intended to split it in two partitions. One partition (250 GB) has been formatted to a EXT4 file system so I could install Ubuntu on it and another one was formatted to a FAT32 (250 GB) file system so I could use that space for both Windows and Linux. For like 2 months that worked perfectly so I do not believe it has anything to do with the split-up. However, what I do think is strange is that I can boot to Ubuntu without any problems and even acces my files on my FAT32 file system. I do not use Linux often and I do not want to keep porting files to my USB stick just because the HDD is not being recognized by Windows. It really gets ennoying and I'd like to solve this. Avchd files not showing in windows 7 for import to elements

Hi I just bought elements 9. I am using windows 7 and a panasonic lumix g3 camera which records in AVCHD lite.
If I try to to lets load some video files - open the organizer click file> get photos and videos>from files and folders with my sd card in the computer and select and view the files in a folder none of the video files are shown. All the photos files are there JPEG and raw but not the video, no thumbnails, no list, no nothing. the files are there I just cant see them so i cant import them so I can't use Premier elements. I cant find much about this anywhere either and am really hoping someone can help. Ideally I need to see a thumb nail to seletc files. thanks

First, make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime.
Then, instead of using the Organizer to get the video from the camera, set up a Premiere Elements project using the settings for AVCHD Lite 720p60 (720p50 if PAL) and then use Premiere Elements' Get Media/From Flip AVCHD and Hard Disk Camcorder tool to get the video from the camera.

I have a dual boot system. Windows xp and Windows 7. Photoshop elements 7 would not run on Windows 7, so I purchased Elements 13. Slow as christmas. Not worth using at the speed it takes to do work on photos
