Miles vs Kilometers on voice update

Cant get my ipod to advise miles vs kilometers during the distance updates during my run. Have the nano set for miles is there a way to fix this?

If you are using a specific distance workout (ie 3k 5k 10k), the iPod will only give you your distance in km.
If you are not then go to the Nike+ settings menu and change the distance setting to miles.

I've had an entirely different experience with Map units. Maps on my iPad (iOS 8) will only deliver units in kilometers, no matter how I adjust the settings for Maps or Region/Language. I am trying to calculate distances between two locations in the United States where all road distances are measured in miles. My iPad region is set to United States. When I open the settings for Maps, change the units from kilometers to miles, and close the window, IOS-8 changes the setting back to kilometers every time.
Slick interfaces and device designs aside, at times these little annoying bugs just make the folks at Apple look like rank amateurs.

Any floating point literal--e.g. 1.609--is of type double.
Any calculation that contains a double yields a double result.
So it's as if you did this:
double d = 1.234;
float f = d;You can't stuff a double into a float. If you want to do that assignment, you need to cast:
float f = (float)d; // EDIT: Oops, was double in the cast, should've been float. Thanks warnerja.However, you're better off just using double throughout. There's no reason to use float at all.

Voice Update - Tom 3.0.5 , Updates over and over and over...

After downloading OSX 10.9, the App Store Update keeps downloading and updating the Tom 3.0.5 Voice. Its done this 5 times since yesterday and is absentmindedly asking to do it again... Any ideas?

I accidentally interrupted the system voice update. How do I get it again?

The System Update appeared and I anticipated getting the upgrades to the voices, It took a long time and I got careless and interrupted the download before it finished. How do I reinitiate the download and get the upgraded voices?

Just run the app and see if it works. If it does, then the update did complete because there are only three options:
The update completed and the app works,
The update did not complete and the app reverted (in which case you would have been able to update it from Software Update)
Or, It was halfway done and completely trashed the app (which is highly unlikely).

Im sure you did a restart with the issue happening again. The next thing to try is a partial erase. If that does not resolve the issue you could try the webOS doctor on your phone. That should correct any code crossing that may have happened.

Miles vs. kilometers

After 3 years of solid performance, suddenly my nano/nikeplus will only measure in kilometers. I keep changing the settings to record in miles (and the display on screen says it is measuring in miles), but the spoken feedback and the display during a run is in kilometers. When I upload my workout to the Nike Plus website, however, it converts to miles. Any thoughts?

Have you tried restoring the iPod in iTunes? If it's a software issue on the iPod, this will often fix it.

Very poor cell coverage, and the tower is reported a few miles down the road

Voice calls, even with 3 bars, whether it shows 1x or 3G, on the iPhone4S are worthless. The calls will drop out, not might. Other parties can't hear me when they do connect. I contacted VZ while at work, but they want me to t-shoot from home (ho hum...and do what? I can't update roaming, although I question I'm trying to hit a roaming tower from home), the call will fail. What does it take to have VZ do a signal strength test in my area and determine what can be done? I certainly can't call from home, and there is no live chat available, even though it's during the reported available times. I can't say AT&T is much better, but if any friends ever show up with an AT&T phone, I'll sure closely examine their service.

x-street closest to my residence = Empire Grade Road and Conifer Lane.
Info I find on line about cell tower placement puts one at about 12600 Empire Grade Rd, which is only a few miles from me.
I updated roaming capability this morning while in an area of acceptable signal, but I don't know that roaming matters when I am hitting (albeit poorly) a VZ tower nearby.
I am in the mountains, but on the top ridge line, not in a canyon.
All I ask is a signal strength assessment in this immediate area; I'm sure other users cannot use their phones, either.

Live!Cam Voice: video but no sound

I've installed the Live!Cam Voice, updated the driver too but I cannot get it to work. I does record the video, but there's no sound.
I've checked the sound settings both on the Live!Cam and windows. The Live!Cam settings are set to record using Live!Cam, whereas the windows sound settings, in control panel are set as follows:
Audio
Realtek AC97
Sound recording
Live!Cam Voice (mic)
The strange thing is that the Live!Cam microphone DOES work if I use it with Windows Accessory Sound Recorder.
Has anybody got an idea why there's no sound?

I am having the same problem. I am using windows Vista and have tried?recording sound in other applications and it works fine, just not when trying to record in LIVE! cam. I jbought this cam 2 months ago and just now find out it does not work when I need it the most. I am due to give a video presentation in two weeks and will probably have to buy a new cam, what a dissapointment!

Control over voice upates?

How much control do I have over the voice updates? Can I set the voice to tell me when a minute goes by? I am doing the Body-for-Life workout and I run continuously for 20 minutes. Every minute I have to change my speed so not having to constantly look at my watch would be a plus.
I was planning on making a 20 minute mix with a "beep" every minute, but if the Nike+ works it would be better since I can use any music.

Nike+iPod -> Settings -> Distances -> Miles
This should change Miles to Kilometers. If it doesn't, try restoring your iPod on iTunes or you have a defective one so take it back to the store you bought it and have it exchanged.

Hello, I have various sites with a distance betwen 5,10 and 20 miles, can I send voice packet betwen links adding QoS in every end point.?

Yes you can as long as the links are correctly engineered ie full site survey and link budget etc. Minimal errors and interference on the link.
At 20 miles you will be down to 5.5Mbps or less, remember this is half duplex so the number of calls at the same time will be very low.
The longer the link the harder it is to align so everything has to be install perfect the is no room for error if you want a stable link
