Milestone Billing based on POC(Percentage of completion) and Sales Order

Dear Experts,
                  With reference to following link
SD Cycle in PS
i would like to add one more doubt.
My client want to copy milestone only when milestone POC is completed.
Like After Completion of 30% of work,Billing must be copied from it.
System does not allow you to exit untill u complete 100% billing in sales order.
Kindly put some valuable inputs.

You can create activities for each task and attach milestone on it. when you complete the task confirm the activity so system will automatically confirm milestone as well, which will remove the billing block.

System wont know automatically, your project engineer should confirm the activity based on the completion of tasks.

  • MTO(Diff between complex make to order and sales order based mass prod)

    Hi
We are using MTO...Can anyone tell me what is the Diff between complex make to order and sales order based mass prod in finance perspective?

    Hi,
In the case of complex make to order scenario, through MRP, the Project shall be assigned to the sales order. Then there will be milestone billling and all. In the case of mass production MTO, it is only creation of production order for each sales order item and each sales order item shall have sales order cost estimate.
Trust this helps much and do encourage our efforts!
    Cheers!

  • Milestone Billing based on Percentage & Quantity

    Hi,
Can you please guide how to map the following scenario
I have Business Scenario in Milestone Billing.
The Milestone terms are assigned in CJ20N and the same is copies to
sales order. The Milestone terms defined in the Project are
    50% Advance Payment
40% Agaisnt Supply (Treating this also as advance)
10% At the time of Installation.(Treat this also as advance)
    50% Revenue Realisation
    50% Revenue Realisation
    Order quantity is 100RMT
    Order Value 10000
The definition of the each milestone is as follows -
Advance Payment: This Milestone raised at the time of booking of sales
order for Advance Payment. Unless advance is receivd orders are not
execute in the business. It means 50% of 10000 = 5000
40% Agaisnt Supply : This Milestone is raised based on supply of
material to the customer. It means as of Milestone Billing Date if
material dispatched is 20MT then the Milestone Billing Booked in the
system is 10000*40% *20/100= 800 (treat this also as advance payment
and client called it as Running Bill) and the same way book the billing
in the system upto completion of 100RMT.
At the time of Installation: This Milestone is raised when the
Installation process is starts. It mean example, if finish the
Installation of 10RMT, then the Milestone Billing is raised as per
below formula - 1000010%10/100 =100 (Treat this also as Advance
Payment and call it as Running Bill).
Actual revenue is booked in the system, once receive the completion
    certificate from the client.
As of now in the system, only accept the value base or percentage base
milestones in the system. This type of above scenario how to map in
the system, can please propose a solution.
    Kindly help me
    Regards
    Goutham

    hi Goutham,
you need to configure your item categories for revenue recognition based on milestones. Thus, what happens then is you are separating revenues and billing. You can continue billing your customer for whatever milestones you have 50/40/10%, and the revenue can be recognized on the completion of the final milestone.
For customizing revenue recognition type on item category level go to
Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Account assignment / Costing ->
Revenue Recognition, Or via transaction: OVEP.
Set Revenue recoginition as Category ‘A’ timebased revenue recognition
and Accrual period start as B -proposal based on billing plan start date
in a milestone billing plan, the billing date of the first milestone is then taken as accrual start date.
You can work on the latest version of the Revenue Recognition Best Practices Guide. The link can be found in note 779365.
    Thanks

  • Billing date at line item level in a sales order

    HI!
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being present at the line item level in a sales order?
And why does it get changed as per the Requested delivery date if the Prop. Pricing date in the maintanenece of sales doc type is set  as 'A'?
Can it be different for different line items?

    Hello Asha,
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being
present at the line item level in a sales order ???
The comprehensive information is available at SAP technical help(F1) for the "BILLING DATE" field at Sales Order line item level...Before raising these type of questions, i would urge to  conduct initiate analysis and then post at SDN forum if you are unable to find out answers...For your quick reference, i have extracted the same description for Billing date from SAP techincal help (F1) and pasted below.
Billing date for billing index and printout
+The date on which the billing is processed and booked for
    accounting purposes.+
    Use
+You can use the billing date as one of the selection criteria
when you process billing documents collectively.+
    Procedure
+If invoice dates are defined for the customer, the system proposes
the billing date from the invoice date calendar. If no invoice dates are
agreed, then the actual goods issue date is formed on the basis of
delivery related billing. In order related billing, the billing date of the
order forms the basis of the billing date.+
+If you are billing services, the system proposes the date of services
rendered. You can change the date manually in the sales document.+
+If you are using a billing plan to bill a project, the system can propose
billing dates for the billing plan on the basis of planned or actual dates
    in the corresponding milestone.+
+In a billing plan for a maintenance or rental contract, you can specify rules
by which the system determines billing dates on the basis of other dates in the contract.+

I want to convert this Warning message into error . Also is it possible to give authorisation to this field only particular user can remove this tick mark.

    Hi Byju4u,
For changing warning message into error message, take the help of an abapper to look into the function module of programme used and make your customised codings so that the error message can be changed.
Regarding authorisation, get the relevant field and define authorisation under the menupath in customisation,

  • "Bill to" Customer and sales order company code

    Hi friends,
Can you please tell me that in sales order, what is the "Bill To" customer? Is it "Sold-to party" or "Ship-to party" or something else? In which table is it stored and what is the field name?
In which table I can find the company code related to a sales order?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Netrey

    Hi Netrey,
Ship-to-party is nothing but to which party the material has to be shipped
Sold-to-party is nothing but to which party the material has be sold
Regarding Bill-to-Party, go through the below example
If a company has a headquarters in Banglore and it has branches in Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune.
If the people from chennai branch require some goods and they will look for a vendor and they will buy from him .
they will ask the vendor to send the bill to their headquarters in banglore and ship the goods to their chennai location.
    for the above example
    Ship-to-Party is chennai office
    Sold-to-Party is  chennai office
    Bill-to-party is Banglore Head quarters.
Regarding the company code, it is stored in the table VBAK and the field name is
    BUKRS_VF.
If i am wrong please correct me.

  • How do I configure Billing doc as the follow up doc to sales order in CRM?

    Hi,
I have the Sales Order transaction type and Item category created and did the item category determination.
Next step is to make the Billing Doc as the follow up doc. I do not know how to do it.
I know copy control for Transactions, item categories and Item Category determination. Do i have to create billing transaction type and item category and do the copy control to link to sales order? if so what is the transaction type for billing?
    Can someone explain to me?
    Thanks.
Edited by: SAP GK on May 10, 2011 4:08 AM

This is done under spro>crm>Billing>Item Category Determination>Assign Item Categories. Here you link transaction type and item category of that transaction type to billing item category. according to that billing type is determined. link between billing item and type is set under spro>crm>Billing>Define Billing Item Categories

  • Auto completion of Sales order item after upto 90% delivery

    Hello,
    Business Requirement:
After 90% quantity of an order quantity is delivered, the item should not be considered by MPS planning run and the item should not appear in MD04.
    Current workaround:
Currently, for that item we are setting Partial Delivery / item = A, manually, and then the order item disappears from MD04.
    Question:
I found in the customer master sales area data, Partial Delivery / item can be set to A and it gets copied in the sales order. But, the underdelivery talerence is nil in our customer master records. So I dont know how to satisfy the condition of 10% underdelivery. Is there any way by which this can be done, other than writing a program and scheduling it for nightly batch job.

  • Block Sales Order line based on Inventory Levels at time of Sales Order

We are having some problems with keeping enough inventory of certain materials.  Our End Users have asked us the following; for a specific part, we would like to try to always have 3 on hand, so if a sales order comes in for the material that would bring the inventory below 3, put that item of the sales order on hold, and then it can be reviewed and then released by Management.  Does SAP have functionality like this?
Also, I believe they are also not wanting Production orders to take the material either.
    Thanks,
    Diane

    > Thanks,
When you set up the solution it is not the safety stock that gets confirmed, but the system considers other inward movements of the goods from PO, inbound delivery, production order etc as per the settings in t.code OVZ9. You can also test by checking the box Check without RLT in OVZ9.
And, another question . . . As I mentioned, since Safety Stock, and amount confirmed to a later date, what if we need the line confirmed to a current date so we can ship it, yet still want to maintain a value in the Safety Stock . . .is there a way to override, and not change the master data?
This is just drifting away from the purpose of maintaining the safety stock. The only solution I could think of is the user needs to remove the safety stock in the material master and re-run the availability check in the sales order to confirm the quantity to current date. Overriding is a not a perfect solution.

  • CIF Transfer: Sales Order (SD) key completion of Sales order Delivery stat

    G'day Team,
Client is using SCM7.0 & ECC6... Using Standard SD functionality we have Sales orders (ATP Categ: BM) CIF transferred from ECC to APO.  When the Sales order status is changed to Delivery (VL10g / VL01N) the Sales order disappears from MD04 and the Delivery status is viewed.
The Delivery is CIF transferred to APO via the CIF (ATP: BR) and the delivery is found in APO Product View (/n/SAPAPO/RRP3).
Further info is that we have a Ztable to control the SDorders coming in for specific Sales Orgs (so there is no volume of hist sales)...
Is it standard APO behaviour for the Sales order to remain in APO with "0" qty in the Sales order & the subsequent delivery has a qty i.e: "100"..  The key information is that ONLY the delivery is found in Interactive Demand Planning (/n/SAPAPO/SDP94).
Has any other SDN colleague had a similar issue.  Have not yet created an OSS as wanted to understand standard APO RRP3 behaviour.
    Please advise as soonest,
    Andy Goz
    SAPAPO Consultant

    G'day Srinivas,
Thanks for your prompt info.  I have worked in CIF for 10+ years & familiar witht he deletion tools CCR & the /sapapo/SDorder_del.
Further to last point of unprocessed queues; the ques are full process & nothing in error.
Can you pease advise why the root cause of Delivery PGI (VL03N) is removed from ECC6 and not APO.  Standard behaviour would remove from RRP3 / SDP94.
Client usess batch splits for the deliveries direct off line & these loc / prods are consistantly in the CCR error list "Not In R/3".
Your prompt feedback is appreciated, binus awrded & client go-live is 2 weeks,
    Many thanks,
