Total No of pages different in report printed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8)

Currently in our application, we are using Crystal Report XI R2 for generating the reports. We are in the process of upgrading the Crystal Report to SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). I updated that on my machine and all the reports work fine. I didn't have to modify any of the reports.
However when comparing the reports, we found that there are few reports on which the total no. of pages differ from the report displayed using Crystal Report XI R2 vs SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio (File Version 13.8). Comparing the reports, it looks all the data that were fit on one page earlier with version XI R2 doesn't fit on the same page with version 13.8, thereby increasing the page counts.
The fonts, page margins everything set on report itself. Nothing being set in the code.
Both the application is using the same report that is pulling the data from the same database. Our application is a web application.
Any suggestion, why this is happening.

I am not sure what is being compared here?
CRXI R2 designer to CRVS?
CR XI R2 in some version of .NET to CRVS?
CR XI R2 using RDC SDK to CRVS?
Also, is this happening on your development computer or after you deploy?
If you compare the the "Page setup" options dialog between reports that work and those that do not work, do you see any difference?
Is this a web or a win app?
Are you seeing the same issue when viewing and exporting - say export to PDF?
What is the printer driver used and it's version?

"SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio" (CRforVS_13_0_9.exe) has error during Installation.

Hello,
I just tried to install the new file CRforVS_13_0_9.exe on a Windows 7 Ultimate machine.
I have Visual Studio 2013 and wanted Crystal Reports to be fully integrated with it.
By the way, I had already uninstalled CRforVS_13_0_8.exe before I attempted the installation of CRforVS_13_0_9.exe.
However, the installation failed with the following error message...
"The installation failed prematurely." The error dialog box with a full error message is attached.
It may be significant to note that even after what looks like a failed installation, that "SAP Crystal Reports, version for Microsoft Visual Studio" (ver. 13.0.9.1312) does show up in the Programs and Features Control Panel).
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Please advise.

This used to be quite common on WIN XP and Vista and it was an MS issue. Googling I found the following that may help:

For now, this is the only report of the error with SP 9, so it will be good to check if the above helps.

Connecting SAP Crystal Report with EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0

Hello Everyone!
I have downloaded SAP Crystal Report demo 30 days and we have an IDES for "EHP6 FOR SAP ERP 6.0", how can I make some reports and train myself with crystal report?
I don't understand how to make the connection to our SAP DB, can you help me?

Ok solved.
- I assure where is the saplogon.ini (in my case: %appdata%\SAP\Common\saplogon.ini)
- I open the saplogon.ini with notepad and set the UTF format and than save it replacing the original one if it was not in UTF format
- I go to : control panel>system>advanced>environment variables>system variables and I create a new one with name "SAPLOGON_INI_FILE" and path "C:\Users\....\AppData\Roaming\SAP\Common\saplogon.ini";
- Open SAP Crystal Reports 2013 (in my case) > VIEW > Preferred Viewing Locale > (here I set the language of the SAP System I am going to log on with crystal report, in my case was in english so I set English)
- (within SAP Crystal Reports 2013) > FILE > Log On or Off Server... > Create New Connection > SAP Table, Cluster, or Function > (now it shows me all the different SAP Systems that are also in the SAP GUI Logon, choose one, set the client-username-password and then finish)

vs.net 2012 crystal report paper size 8.5in x 5.5in orientation portrait will not print properly. Always it prints landscape

Don't define the paper size in the CR designer. Define it in the printer driver. Also, make sure you are using SP 10:

Error when use Crystal report Bundled Version with Vs2003 on Windows Vista

Hi, I have developed a software with Vs2003 that uses Crystal report Bundled Version. I have created a Installation package that include the merge modules, and i have entered the Licence Key for Crystal_regWiz2003 module. If i install and use the software in the computer with XP or Windows 2000 I do not have problems. But when i install the software on the PC with Windows Vista i have this error when the probram show a report "Operazine di Crystal Report non Riuscita perche' non e' stato possibile ottenere una licenza gratuita nel tempo allocato" Thank's

Uninstall CRVS2010 that you currently have installed.
To remove the assemblies from the GAC use gacutil. Google will get you a number of links on how to. SAP Crystal Reports 2011/2013 doesn't show Company Data Base

I have CR versions 2011 and 2013 in several clients, and I can't connect to SAP B1 through the integration component. The behavior is that when I fill all the fields, I can't see the Company DataBases; if I type it manually and click "finish" I get the "conexion failed" error. With version 2011 it was working and then stoped working just like that. With 2013 has never worked. I've read in several forums that this error is recognized by SAP since early 2008 versions, but only talk about future "fixes". I've checked if any fix for 2013 is available but no lucky, it seems that fixes is a mess with CR.
See screenshot. Any ideas how to fix this? is this really a bug?
I have SAP 9 PL 9.
UPDATE: My SAP Partner Support has told me this error is caused by the version of SQL I have (which is 2012) and that SAP will release a patch to correct this soon, is this correct?

Greetings all,
I have recently purchased Crystal Reports developer version 11 and have made a number of reports.
I am having trouble with sharing reports to other employees of my company and would like your assistance.
What are the ways of allowing other users to view the report and also allow them to modify the parameters? eg I have created a report that gives the list of all of the active candidates for a company. There is a query before the report that is generated to ask the user the start date and end date.
I spoke with a number of people and they have suggested creating the report in "run-time" which I have no idea what it means.
Can someone please help me as I would like to share all these reports.

There are several ways to make your reports available and usable to others.
Here are a few...
1) Export to PDF and email (users will not be able to alter any of the parameters... )
2) Install a CR viewer on each users machine. You can find a list of them here http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html
3) Crystal Reports Server (CRS) or Business Objects Enterprise (BOE).
4) Create a custom application.
With the CR Viewer, that application only allows to user to view the report but not enter in any parameters?
I enquired about crystal reports server but it came to roughly $8000 for the product which is quite expensive.
Is there a program that I can utilise that is a relative good price?

Sap Crystal Reports 2013 Performance Issues

We are planing to do the report migration to sap crystal report 2013. now we have crystal report xi Developer licensed version and we download the 30 days evaluation(trial) version of sap crystal report 2013 only for testing. we have 1 report that created in crystal report xi version it runs within 5 mins for 2 lakhs records and same report we are testing on sap crystal report 2013 evaluation(trial) version with same connection and same report parameters it took 10 mins for 2 lakhs records.every report take more time in sap crystal report 2013 evaluation(trial) version as compared to crystal report xi Developer licensed version.
Why this happened? is it issue of evaluation(trial) version of sap crystal report 2013?

Oracle
what specific db version?
Oracle 11g
what connection method?

Above same thing we r using for crystal report xi licensed version and sap crystal report 2013 evaluation(trial) version but now issues is that report takes 45 min in sap crystal report 2013 evaluation(trial) version for 2 lac records,but same report takes only 5 min to run in crystal report xi licensed version. is this issue of licensed bcoz now we are run report on sap crystal report 2013 evaluation(trial) version.

Error loading in DLL (Crystal reports 2008 version 12.3)

we have installed the software but While adding the reference in VB,and while selecting the (Crystal Report ActiveX Viewer 12.0) we can't add as a reference it is showing (error in loading DLL) so please request you to check this error which is attached and revert on this As early as possible.

For timely response, it is important to make sure you post to the correct forum (check the header of each forum).
From your description, I suspect that you are trying to use the COM based Report Designer Component(?). This component has been retired in CR XI R2. The activeX viewer you are trying to access is only included for internal purposes and you are not licensed to use it at all. In CR 2008, you will have to use the CR SDK for Visual Studio .NET.

Crystal Reports background processing for SAP Business One 8.8

I have an SDK program developed in SAP Business One SDK that works in 2007, it calls crystal reports externally and can be executed as a background task using the windows schedular or from the command prompt.
My problem is it does not work under SAP Business One SDK 2008 PL18 with SQL Server 2008, Visual Studio 2008.
I receive the following message after this line in my code,"oReport.PrintToPrinter(CopyNo, False, 0, 0)".

My Question is what Crystal Reports libraries or other method should I be using ?
Crystal Reports 2008 for SAP Business One eg. 51038978.zip - downloaded from portal obviously dosn't contain the CrystalDecisions libraries.
Crystall Reports 2008 - cr2008_sp3_fullbuild, cr2008fp33.exe, cr2008fp33_mm, cr2008fp33_clickonce - also download from the portal, the cr2008_sp3_fullbuild does contain the crystal decisions libraries.
Finally other choices are crystal reports included with the visual studio 2008 and crystal reports full version direct from Business Objects.
I have tried different versions of crystal decision libraries- eg, 12.0110 or 12.02 but still no joy.
Also if I manage to get the report to fire what should the client be running eg, if they have the Crystal Reports 2008 for Business One do they also need to install the Crystal Reports Run time - cr2008fp33_clickonce.
Any help would be appreciated.

Since the SDK works in 2007 it will be using the OLD DB access method.
Change the Crystal report to use an OLE DB datasource rather than the SAP Business One data source.

Crystal Reports for Eclipse vs. Crystal Reports Developer

We are developing a Java web application for internal use. Since we have some people at the company who are familiar with Crystal Reports, we'd like to have them write reports that we can display through our application. Crystal Reports Server seems like overkill for this project, but the <a href="http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2/en/devsuite.htm#en/JRC_SDK/">JRC</a> sounded like a good fit.
I have been evaluating <a href="http://www.businessobjects.com/products/reporting/crystalreports/developer/default.asp">Crystal Reports Developer</a> and trying out the <a href="http://support.businessobjects.com/communityCS/FilesAndUpdates/crxi_r2_jrc_web_samples.zip.asp">JRC samples</a>. The samples don't use the tag library. Instead, they show how to set session variables and redirect to a viewer JSP which contains a bunch of Java code to use the CrystalReportViewer.
The samples are so much more complex than the code created by Crystal Reports for Eclipse, which simply uses the tag library:

Crystal Reports for Eclipse Standard provides a free report designer built into Eclipse. It also includes the JRC for use on an internal server.

Hi there, If you are planning on deploying a JRC application then you should definitely be using Crystal Reports for Eclipse for your runtime engine. It is the latest version of the JRC and includes many updates not available in Crystal Reports Developer.As for "power" the JRC included in CR Developer is on par with the JRC available in the Basic edition of Crystal Reports for Eclipse. The Professional edition of Crystal Reports for Eclipse provides the most powerful version of the JRC available.With the release of Crystal Reports for Eclipse, Business Objects is setting the groundwork for separating Developer needs from the Report Author needs.A professional report author will require a professional report design tool. For these users we are recommending that they purchase Crystal Reports Professional.The developer, on the other hand, generally needs the SDKs and a toolkit to assist with building applications. SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2010-Deployment Issue

Hi All,
I am trying to deploy CR for VS 2010 and without success. it is the first time I am deploying an application that is using CR so Im probably doing something wrong.
I installed the SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for .NET Framework 4 (32-bit) and I get the error message : "Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, Pub.."
what is the right way to deploy a CR application? I use a windows forms application as a project.

This is a MS framework dll / assembly, not a Crystal Reports file. Have you installed framework 4 on that box? If not, do so, then reinstall the CRVS2010 runtime.
