Hi David,
There is no plugin I'm afraid. Websites using this are geared solely towards Windows users.
The only way to use these sites on a Mac is to use Virtual PC.
Send feedback to the site concerned about their lack of compatibility. Sorry I don't have better news...

<<<Look in ~/Library/Internet Plugins. You should have two RealPlayer plugins (aliases) if it was installed properly.>>>
Sorry, John, but if you offered me $1,000,000 to explain the above your $1,000,000 would be safe as Ft. Knox

  • SAP authentication plug-in needs to have been selected during the installation

Can anyone help me with an issue I have with the SAP authentication setup please. Unfortunately our BI 4.0 SP4 installation was installed without the SAP authentication being selected. On the setup document I have it says that the SAP authentication plug-in needs to have been selected during the installation. Does anyone know if it is possible to set this up retrospectively?
The document can be found on the following link. Setting up the SAP plug-in - Business Intelligence (BusinessObjects) - SCN Wiki
    Thanks

    Hi Simon,
As Sebastian said, this is a default installation, but you must select the correct one that you need, I guess that Enterprise is the default one.

  • According to Firefox 6 my Shockwave Flash plug in needs updating but it won't let me load the adobe site properly

Addon Manager tells me that the Shockwave Flash plug in needs to be updated but the Adobe web page does not load and just hangs.
It also tells me that the Quicktime plug in is out of date but altho' it will connect to the Quicktime web page it does not complete the loading process.
I have also had problems accessing my Youtube channel adn have had to use a fix I found somewhere in support.mozilla that suggested using https instead of http. This works but why on earth have I had to do this? What has gone wrong with FF6?

Here I am replying to my own question. For the 8 people who apparently also have these problems I have solved the Adobe Flashplayer one. Or at least I am assuming that there was a causal connection between what I did and the result but, then again, who knows?
If you have IE on your system, make sure that the Flash Active X extension is installed and up to date. Then go through the rigmarole with Firefox and updating the Shockwave Flash. It should work.
    Still no idea about Quicktime.

  • Can't open photos - needs MIME plug-in?

I'm using Safari 2.0.4 and am trying to view photos on a website, but have encountered this error message:
+The page “Browser Express” has content of MIME type “application/x-oleobject”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.+
Can this be solved in Safari, or do I need to download an entirely new web browser to do this? If so, what choices do I have?
    Thanks.

It's not working for me either, in the Safari 3 beta. That is, I can view the thumbnails but not the larger pictures.
For what it's worth, my impression is that the coding behind this site is very outdated. I visited the AeroDrive site that writes the programming behind that site, and as an example, in their "Windows configuration" PDF file provided as support to their customers, they tell you how to configure IE 5.5. That makes me wonder how long it has been since they've updated the software that drives the site you're trying to view.
I'm sorry that's not much help. I think you have indeed found one of those web sites that doesn't work well or at all in Mac OS X.

  • What MIME plug-in do I need?

    Hello,
I'm a new Mac user so things are still a bit foggy.
I'm trying to open "what's on now" from a radio station but it gives me this message:
The page has content of MIME type “application/x-oleobject”.
Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
How do I get what I need to be able to listen online?

You need Flip4Mac which replaces Microsloth's Windows Media Player. However, you don't mention which machine. IIRC, it's only for PPC machines. There's nothing comparable for ICBMs (Intel-chip-based Macs).
BTW, since you're a newcomer to the Mac, peruse Switching from Windows to Mac OS X and Basic Tutorials on using a Mac

  • Need 'MIME Plug-in? apparently...

Hi, get the following message when trying to click on a QT movie (so far just on apples site - i can view video previews in itunes). It wants me to dl and install qt even though its already on my computer (i have latest 7.1.3).
The page “Apple - Trailers - Dreamgirls - Teaser 1” has content of MIME type “video/quicktime”, but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type. A plug-in should be available on this page:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
ive tried a couple of times to re-install but to no success

No worries - have been searching like mad and ave found the solution, Courtesy of user: andybal_uk - cheers!
    Hi
if you've used the "installed plug-ins" command from Safari's Help menu & see no mention of QT, then No, of course that isn't normal.
You should see a section headed-
    QuickTime Plug-in 7.x.x
The QuickTime Plugin allows you to view a wide variety of multimedia content in web pages. For more information, visit the QuickTime Web site. — from file “QuickTime Plugin.plugin”.
then a long list of mime types that the plugin handles.
So - assuming you don't see that, either the plugin is missing for some reason or there's a conflict that doesn't allow it to load.
Take a look in your Home/Library/Internet Plug-Ins folder - if you see any QT plugin or webplugin file there, remove them to the desktop or trash.
Now look in HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ amongst other files, this should contain QuickTime Plugin.plugin
IF you found a QT plugin in the Home account plugins folder & have removed it, you should quit any browsers & re-open them - hopefully you will now have QT functioning.
IF you have no file 'QuickTime Plugin.plugin' then it seems something went wrong with the installation or a recent update.
Anyway, let us know what you find out.

  • Plug-in needed to listen

I'm still trying to find a version of the Canadian anthem to download. I found one, but when I tried to listen before downloading, the message below appeared.
The page “National Anthem Canada” has content of MIME type “audio/x-pn-realaudio-plugin”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
What does it mean? Can I get the plug-in I need?
    Sauble

Seems like you may need Real Player:

  • DVI to S-Video & Composite plug cable needed for output to audio/TV system

I'm in need of a DVI to S-Video and Composite plug cable to replace the Monster iTV Link cable I used with my 12" Aluminum PowerBook. (http://www.monstercable.com/apple/Computer.asp) I use it to output to my audio/TV system.
Whereas the PowerBook used a mini-DVI port and had the audio output jack on the same side of the computer, the MacBook Pro uses a full size DVI port and has the audio jack on the opposite side!
I've been unable to find a cable so that I can connect up to a TV. Does anyone know where I can find one? Or perhaps a DVI to mini-DVI adapter? Or perhaps a VGA to S-Video/Composite cable and I can use the DVI to VGA adapter that came with the computer?
    This is very frustrating!

Apple's video adapters have a ROM chip inside them with EDID data contained within the ROM. That is one thing that will definitely be different between the two. The NTSC and PAL version (M9267G/A) gives priority to NTSC. This could cause problems in a PAL country. If you hooked a PAL TV up using this adapter, you might get a rolling (non-synced) screen and you'd have no good way to recover since the image on the screen would be unusable.
I don't think one adapter would have any advantage over the other in terms of PAL picture quality. It would just be a question of compatibility as outlined above. That's my best guess.

  • MIME plug-in/ shockwave

I recently tried to install the new version of Adobe Flash as mine was outdated. When i did this the installation froze and wouldn't further load. So i stopped it and looked into the problem online on various websites. (Adobe was not very helpful) I tried a suggestion of downloading a Flash uninstalling program. I followed through with this and the exact same thing happened with the uninstaller. it just froze and went nowhere. I also tried installing Shockwave and that installed but did not fix the problem. So i now can't uninstall Flash or update it. All i'm getting on every website that has Flash content is a message like the following...
"(whatever website address that requires Flash would be here)” has content of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”. Because you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME type, this content can’t be displayed.
Now i can't get anything to run that's Flash and it's incredibly frustrating. Can anyone help me with this problem? I've tried pretty much anything i could think of within my knowledge of my computer. ANY help is VERY appreciated.
    Cheers!
    Jason

I'm experiencing the same problem. Did you find any solutions yet?

  • Built-in Input: Stereo plug-in needed?

    Hi
I'm trying to use Audacity to convert cassettes to digital. I've hooked up a mono-to-mono line from my old monaural cassette's headphone jack player to my MB Pro's Built-In Input. However, I'm not getting any sound.
Do I need a stereo adaptor to plug-in to the MB Pro?
Btw, I believe the setup is otherwise correct since when switching to buiilt-in microphone I pick the tv, etc.

Apple tends to use special jacks and expects at least stereo plugs. You can probably wire left and right together, but the plug length is likley to be important. Too short and it is "not there".

  • Special plug-in needed for Microsoft Browser?

What is the story on AWT vs Swing?
I nderstand that you needed a special plug-in and a spedcial HTML tag in order to run JFC and/or Swing on a Microsoft Browser... true?
But I also understand that Swing is better than the AWT as it is all written in Java and don't rely on platform specefic libraries... true?
I want my Stand-alone Java application and my web-based Java application to run on all machines and have good looking windows...
Maybe my source is old but I need to know... Which should I use... AWT or Swing?
thanks for any help - Will
