Min order quantity issue
hello gurus,
we have a problem here about minimum order quantiy, we have a part where it has to be sold in a minimum order quantity of 10, when i maintain that in material master it applies to every order, problem is when some customers order that item as one of the items in their purchase order they just need 3 or 2 according to their requirements, it is not a good customer service if we say that we sell only in 10 as they dont need them in that quantity. but what we want is if customer orders it as a individual item i mean just that item it must be in minimum order quantity of 10. is there anything in standard system that we can maintain or we need any special settings we need. please suggest me gurus.

Two options are there apart from controlling in material master.
- Go to VD51 or VD52, input the customer code and execute. There select the material code for which you want to restrict and maintain "10" against the field "Minimum delivery qty". But this will give only a warning which you can see in "Error log", when you proceed with quantity in excess or less than 10.
- The next option is go to user exit User-Exits in program MV45AFZB - USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP where you can define your own logic.

Max order quantity to preserve service levels
Dear Sales Gurus,
Here is an interesting challenge. I have seen a lot of topics around this issue, but no clear explanation on the background and probably for that reason no clear solution.

Heading 1:The business case
Products that are sold can be characterized by being high or low volume, and frequently or not frequently ordered. This particular scenario is in the context of low-volume and not frequently ordered products. To assure service levels and working capital optimization you have defined a safety stock that corresponds to the frequence of the orders, average quantity ordered and standard deviation of ordered quantity. As practical example: Product AAA is sold every 2 months by 3 orders with average quantity of 15 and standard deviation of 5. The safey stock has been set to 60 units.
One of your sales offices/persons spots a one off-opportunity to sell 60 units of that product AAA and places a sales order for it. Consuming the inventory completely would result in most of the other regular customers being unsatisfied and service levels being broken.

Objective
Assume partial deliveries are not accepted. The system should not propose a date, which is based on the available inventory. It should take into account the assumption that the quantity should be produced in order not to completely exhaust the safety stock and damage the service level for other regular customers.
One way to achieve that is to introduce a maximum order quantity, which can be statistically estimated to fit in certain constrains and factors.

System Behaviour
Lets say a max quantity can be defined somehow and used in SO processing. When the ATP is run, it should check the max quantity and if the order exceeds that quantity, it should be satisfied by planning a new production. For example if the max quantity is set to 30 (mean + 3st.deviations), any order for up to 30 would be sourced from inventory, provided there is stock available, any order above this limit will immediately be planned for production even if stock is available to cover the individual order.

Alternative Solutions
Any solution which allows that the above issue is avoided can be considered. The Max Quantity is probably only one of the possible alternatives.

P.S. Custom development and User exits are always an option, but in this request we need to answer with standard functionality as much as possible.
P.S.S. I have been looking at the Quantity Optimization functionality for PO's and SO's, but I am not sure if it is really a solution as I do not have experience with it and did not understand how exactly it works.

Here are the answers to your questions:
1) Is there a Max.Order Quantity field in the material master record like Min.Order Quantity field in the
Sales: Sales org.1 screen?
Answer: Unfortunately there is no such field.
2) How can we define a limit for the total amount of the order quantity per a sales order?
Answer: You could consider using USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE in MV45AFZZ.
This userexit will be called during the save process of sales document.
You could add additional check in it.
3) How can we control that one material no. could be written just one item line in the sales order?
Answer: You could consider using USEREXIT_CHECK_VBAP in MV45AFZB.
This userexit will be called after item creation. You could add check for material number.

Min.order Qty from Info record in PR in MRP

Is there any setting by which , while running MRP, system will take min.order quantity from info record (instead of material master) ?.

You are right, If you try to convent PR in to PO, and if you have maintained min.order qty in info record, you get message ( error / warning ) as per your message setting.
Your question is also valid that if the same material is being procured by many vendors, and each vendor might have different min. order qty, Hence it has to be picked from info record only.
But I have tried with all the possibilites. While converting PR into PO, based on system message you can correct the Quantity, but if MRP generates PR ,based on the min.order qty in info record, then no need to handle such messages.
You can try also, maintain different min. order qty in Material master and info record, it will always take from Material master and never from info record.
But Logically, it should take from info record.
That is why I wanted to make the system take info record min.order.qty.
So it would solve the problem if you know some setting that takes min.order.qty from info record.
( ref: I am aware of planned del. time , there is one checkbox in plant parametes, if you select that , system will take planned del.time from info record , if you don't, system will take it from material master. So if you know any such setting for min.order.qty, pls let me know. I could not find any such possibilities)

Wan to Decrease the Order Quantity

and now i try do decrease the qty in VA02 to 08
but system not accepting, please is there any solution to decrease the qty in sales order

MadhusudhanYes you should be able to decrease the order quantity after a partial delivery, provided the decreased qty is NOT LESS than the partially delivered Qty.
If it is not allowing to decreae please check if there are any Min Order Quantity or Case Pack qty in the material master. Also please post the error message in detail, it will be helpful in providing more appropriate suggessions.

Credit Memo requiring minimum order quantity?
Has anyone had the problem when creating a Credit Memo Request (Sales Transaction) in CRM whereby the system imposes a hard error when the minimum order quantity is not met?
For Credit Memo's, we should be able to credit the customer either partially or fully so it doesn't make sense to force the min. order quantity.Hi,
Check if the minimum order qty is maintained in COMMPR01 in Sales and Distribution tab. If maintained, remove the value and try to create credit memo.

So in the situation as described, the order quantity will be 60 pcs. And I understand this, but when the FLM is lower then the Min Order Quantity?
In my siuation, I don't want to order more then the min order quantity, so the Fixed lot multiplier can be the half of the min order quantity, for example:
Minimum Order quantity---------Fixed Lot Multiplier Good-----------Fixed Lot Multiplier Wrong
50-------------------------------------------------25--------------------------------------30
And when the demand is now 50 pcs, the system will suggest an order for 50pcs(FLM Good) or for 60pcs(FLM Wrong) <-- When you use my given parameters.
I just want to know if the FLM is leading as well as it is lower or higher then the Min Order Quantity.
And yes, it is possible.

VL04 Issue -Open order Quantity Display
This issue is come in VL04 area.
At first - user had changed customer master data in to - shipping partial delivery per item: B (Create only one delivery (Also with qty = 0) ) and Max partial deliveries : 1 settings are maintained, which are the standard SAP functionalities. Above changes are made on 02 Oct u201911.
however our client user has already created standard sales order on 31 Aug 2011 with Material qty = 4 Tones but delivery (01 Sept 2011) has been created for 3990 Kgs, delivery related invoice also has been created 03.09.2011 u2013 Expecting payment from customers.
But know remaining open order quantity list is displaying in VL04, at this time our client user is challenge us, He donu2019t want see the remaining open item quantity sales orders list in VL04.
An import thing is u2013Availability Check is not configured for Sales order level.
Experts, I need your valuable help in this, Please help me from this.

System is behaving as expected to behave.
Since there is pending qty to be delivered in the sales order, system will always show it as open qty .
One suggestion is to go to the VA02 of the order , and make the qty to 3990 Kgs and SAVE.
Then Re-check whether the order is again getting listed in VL04.
Check and revert back.

Goods issue quantity exceeds the ordered quantity
Hi Gurus,
I created a sales order with single line item for 100 MT. Subsequently i created outbound delivery against the order. Now the 100 MT quantity gets copied in the delivery. now i created an additional line item in the same delivery for 10 MT against the same material . After this i did the PGI. To my surprise system allowed to do the PGI for this additional item that i had added. Now in this case the goods issue quantity exceeds the Sales order quantity. How can i restrict such functionality.
My requirement is that the goods issue quantity should never exceed the ordered quantity in any case. Moreover the line items should be copied directly from sales order and there should not be any scope of adding any additional line item during delivery. The outbound delivery document should be copied from sales order and no manual alterations should take place during delivery or PGI . How can i achieve the same . Please help.

Open Order Quantity Inconsistent issue

We are being using Open Order Quantity key figure in our BI model.Not Open Order Quantity key figure is inconsistent in BI system.
It has been used in several places.Hence i don't want go for redesing it.
Please some one can help me without creating new Open Order Quantity key figure.

your query is not clear however making few assumption can give below inputs. Assume you are using LIS 11 extractor. Open order quantity varies from business to business , how do they actually define it.
Get the extact definiton from business how they calculate open order quantity , accoridngly build the keyfigure. for example if open order quantity is orders for which status is not complete then quanity = open order quantity.
EG: Using 2lis_11_VAITM
Restrictted key figure = UVALL not equal to 'C' then KBMENG is open order quanity.

Minimum order quantity for STO UB DOC type
Hello Guru's,
This issue is regarding STO (UB doc type):-
Client's requisrement is while creating the STO using trax ME21N system should issue an warning message, if the STO line item exceeds the Minimum order quantity mantain in Material master data.
For Standard PO works fine because that we can set it in Info record, but in STO for UB doc type it is not working, since we can't create info record for STO.
Is there any settings availabe in SAP for Minimum order qty for STO (UB doc type).

SujoyNot sure if I know one either,.. however you could always validate it through a user exit. Maintain a Z-table with the order type, Supplying plant and qty filds.. min-max and any other and validate it each time during check and save..

Hi,
we are using ASCP together with SFM. We do descrete manufacturing for our products. The products flows look like this:
- asssembly item A (finished good item)
=> is make item (has routing), uses component3
- component3 is make item, uses component2
- component2 is make item, uses component1
- component 1 is buy item
So the flow of material looks like this:
component1 -> component2 -> component3 -> assembly4
(buy) (make) (make) (make)
In production we typically process only full Lots/Batches with a certain quantity depending on the component1.
We want that ASCP plans always full Lots, because the leadtime of the full Lot is always needed in reality. If ASCP plans with partial quantities, then the estimated/calculated leadtime for the planned orders will not be realistic.
To achieve this we want to use the Fixed Order Quantities, however it turned out that we run into several other problems if we use this parameter. For example it happens that system recommends to buy material (component1) just for the sake of the fixed order quantities.
We are running into issues if we enter the Fixed Order quantities, and we get other issues if we leave this empty.
I am looking for someone who has experience with this parameter and can give some recommendations. Maybe we use the wrong approach and there are other paramters that we should use to achieve what we want.

Oracle ASPC has some more meaningfull logic in Lead time calcualtion. It is not that Lead time will be wrong when you Process the low batch. On the other hand lead time goes up when you use Fixed order Quantity , irrespective of Demand. It also files up your inventory.
See for example, If you have fixed order quanitity for an item say 1000 numbers;assume that you have on hand for 500. and need to refill balance 500.
What will ASCP recommend you ?..1000 numbers.It files your invenotry...Does this mean that lead time for producing 1000 is less as compared to 500!!! also is it acceptable to produce extra 500..
.It also make you to plan low levels adversly with case cade effect...
You issue is not lead time...You are talking about setup time. If you produce more batches, you are occuring the more setups for same items. it makes lead time more lengthy considering the setup time. This is your problem and wanted to limit this or wanted to make it optimization. (Is it right my observation of your problem??)
How to control...?. Rather than speaking about lead time , let us talk in other way ...what is the Planning perid do you want want to conisder while planning a batch or lot size?. In other words let us take an example,,,
Component2 has a lead time of say 30 days for 1000 numbers. At the same time, I am able to accamadate only max 1000 numbers. If the demand goes up ,say for example, 2000, then I need to have two batches. If the goes less than 1000 and demand split in time gap ...for exmaple, 500 in first of week of may and 200 in last of week of may, still I want to consolidate 500+200 into one batch and want to Plan 700 as it is less that 1000.
If the above condition matches..you need to use Min Order/Max orde qunatity and Fixed days supply together. This is the wonderful way it controls the objective as stated above.In this example you will set min 1 , max 1000 and fixed days supply to 20 days.
How ever in some cases if the demand comes likes this, say for exmaple 2000 and 2000, then there is a recommendation to produce 1000,1000,1000,1000 with due date as equal to first lot. However, if you use constranied based planning, APS will reshdule and give you best possible time slot. Other wise, if there is enoguh capacity you are still able to produce 4 batches in first due date. The result of this behaviour depends on EDD and ECC and will vary.Make it understand this and do test case..go ahead..

Please help me to understand these and help me on this issue.
what is the difference between Minimum order quantity and Minimum material quatity.
where and how to handle this situation in standard SAP.
EX: if I am dealing with all the customers for material 1, material2 material3.......up to 50 materials.If I wiould like to check minimum order quatity only for few materials (let us say material1 minimum 5 quatity and material 2 minimum 5 quanity and material1 +material2 combines 10 quatity is also Ok) and if any customer not buying in this category automatically $100 fee(surcharge?) has to apply for this order.
How to set up this,please step by step understanding required.

Free goods determined in Delivery over Order Quantity in Sales Order Item
Hi Gurus,
I've a problem about using free goods determination.
First I created free goods master record with following information
ZG1010012060075 From 100 PC -> Free good ZG1040012060075 2 PC
Free goods Category = '2' (Exclusive)
Free goods delivery control = 'E' (Delivery proportional to quantity in main item)
Then I've created Sales Order with
Item 10 ZG1010012060075 4,000 PC.
Item 11 ZG1040012060075(Free good) has been automatically determined for 80 PC
Then I've splitted Item 10 into 4 deliveries. The result of free goods determine in each delivery are as follow:
Delivery#1)
Item10 ZG1010012060075 = 1,176 PC
Item20 ZG1040012060075 = 24 PC
Delivery#2)
Item10 ZG1010012060075 = 1,176 PC
Item20 ZG1040012060075 = 24 PC
Delivery#3)
Item10 ZG1010012060075 = 1,176 PC
Item20 ZG1040012060075 = 24 PC
Delivery#4)
Item10 ZG1010012060075 = 472 PC
item20 ZG1040012060075 = 9 PC
*Remark : Total quantity of 'ZG1040012060075'(free goods) = 92424+24 = 81 PC
(Greater than 80 PC)*
I think the system determined free goods in Delivery#4 correctly due to rounding up. But It might not be over the order quantity in Sales Order Item 11. Even though I've set the item category in delivery with Check overdelivery = 'B' (Situation rejected with an error message), the free goods are determined over order qty. BUT if I change delivery qty in delivery#4 Item20 from 9 PC -> 8 PC -> 9 PC, the error message occurred.
My point is to fix the system not determine free goods in delivery items over order quantity in sales order item.
Has anyone met this situation before? Do you have any idea about this issue?

I would like the system to determine free goods with proportional to main item AND In the last delivery main item delivered completely free goods must be determined equal to remaining open delivery item.

How to get the open order quantity for a material

We need to get the open order quantity for materials. At present we are using the following logic...
