Mine attachment ics in iOS 8

Since uploading ios8 on my iPad, I can no longer open invitation attachments sent to me via outlook from within mail. When I click on the attachment (mime attachment.ics) to add to calendar, I am thrown out of mail.
Anyone one no of a cure?

Looks like Apple doesn't care who is using Microsoft Outlook with Exchange Server. (Iphone, Ipad is not for business anymore)
My ics calenders my office voice mail attachments are not working.
Why I should continue with this doesn't care company. (Apple)
I start not to care Apple anymore.
I am switching everyone in the office from Iphone to something else that will work.
I am throwing my Ipad and my iphone to garbage.
These devices are useless if you are using for the company.

I downloaded ios 7 the other day on my 4, and I cannot open my mime-attachment.ics from outlook. I have already deleted and reinstalled my mail account from which these files originate, without any success. Amy Ideas?

Same problem. None of the suggestions worked for me. Even the innovative work aroung by alstarck (in outlook uncheck ICalendar) is no good since i get ?????? in the mail header and when trying to create an event it creats it on current date and not in the intended date.
If this ICS business is not fixed soon I'm seriously considering dropping Iphone alltogether because this is the last strow, in addition to the very poor ICalendar-Outlook communication. It hurts my work.
Any Idea/knowledge/comfort?

Calender invitations arriving as email attachments mime-attachment.ics were opening fine but since upgrading to 7.0.3 they do not open - how do I get this working?

I'm afraid that unless you are able to contact the previous owner and have him wipe the device, or provide you with his Apple ID password so you can delete the iCloud account, you are out of luck.
With iOS 7, an Activiation Lock was added to deter thieves. This lock prevents anyone but the owner of the device from deleting the iCloud account and restoring the device:

Unless you are able to reach the original owner and get the device wiped or the iCloud account deleted, you are stuck with a brick.

TS1347 ios 7: how can i open a mime-attachment.ics file?

since i installed ios7 on my iphone i can not open mime-attachment.ics (invitation sent from an outlook email) files in my calendar. does anyone know what i can do to open these files in my calendar?

All email attachments are encoded before being sent are encoded with MIME.
If your receive an email attachment that is not recognized by the computer or mobile device, that usually means there is not an application available on the computer or mobile device that is compatible with the attachment type.

I understand that you are concerned that your iPhone 4 running iOS 7 may not be recognized in iTunes 12. Your iPhone 4 running iOS 7 should have no issues being recognized or syncing with iTunes 12. After the update my Ipad restart and after that it appears a picture that need to connect to itunes and need to restore. So i connect it to itunes and wait to restore my ipad mini because it is not opening.
After restoring it my ipad is now opening and it is like new that i need to set up again.
I set up again until i reach the apple id and password.
I put my below apple ID and password to unlock my ipad but it didn't work. The message i receive is "the apple ID cannot be used to unlock this Ipad.
What will I do? Please help.

1. It is never a good idea to include personal info like your email address or Apple ID in a post on an open forum.
2. The email you received DOES NOT say your Apple ID cannot be used to unlock this iPad. The email informs you that your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad. Fortunately the iPad is yours. The message confirms that. If your Apple ID was used to unlock an iPad that was not yours your would then know to change your password. Since the iPad is yours you do not need to change your password.

Found some severe issues with my Xperia mini after ICS update

Hi,
I am a application and game tester from India and i am using Xperia mini for 7 months, last month i have upgraded my mini with ICS. But the update is not so good as i am facing many problems after updating. I am listing few of my problems below, i dont know this is for my set or with all:
1. If i am forwarding any message and selects 'Add Recipient' option then the phone get stuck in the Contacts list and fails to respond the back button. Also on returning to Home screen and selecting message option after than then Contact list opens instead of Message and to rectify this issue i have to restart my mobile.
2. For my Calenders(i have sync with Facebook) there are lots of event marked on the days but on selecting the particular dates no name is displayed just blank tabs are displayed.
Please reply me is this the problem with all Xperia Minis(ICS)? or i am the lucky one . If this is with all then please fix the issues and make a new update available.

Hi guys, well as a matter of facts, yes, I have a similar problem, amongst other...
-This feature I use a lot: in GB, when i open conversation, on the top the contact`s name and phone appears, i tap on it and make the call, in ICS, when i tap on it, it opens Contact list from the begining, so i have to find the contact which i want to call. And on the end, back and menu buttons don`t work in that case (like toseefb2 problem), so i have to press the home button....
Maybe, just maybe this happens because i installed Skype, because, after its installation, when i wanted to send an SMS, it asked me which will the messaging app going to be used, Skype or Messaging. I`ve chosen the Messaging and my problem appeared. Only Contacts with picture can be called, and only if i tap the picture...
Please solve this, i don`t want to uninstall Skype, nevertheless, the phone should work regulary even with 3rd party apps.

Mime-attachment.ics - can read message on iphone but not on PC

Someone has replied to an Outlook meeting request with a message that I can read on my iphone but the message doesn't appear on my PC. I assume it has something to do with the format of the message (being mime-attachment.ics) and that my PC doesn't recognise that format but I would like to know how I can fix this. Any help would be much appreciated - thanks!

If the bubble was green, the message must have gone by SMS. Macs have no direct SMS capability.
That other person either does not have an Apple iPhone, has chosen not to register the phone number with iMessage, or did not have an internet connection active at the time of your experiments.
There are services that claim to allow non-SMS devices to send SMS messages. I've never tried any of them, so I don't know how well (or even if) any of them might work.

Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings. This should improve the typing responsiveness
*Note:* Settings, preferences, network settings, etc will be reset. *NO data or media will be lost*

TS1702 mime-attachment.ics problem

When I'm sent a calendar entry (appointment) from a colleagues pc using Outlook it arrives as a mime-attachment.ics. Until recently I could click the icon and it would register as an appointment on the iPhone calendar. For reasons that mystify me it doesn't do this now. How in the world can an iphone user see or accept an outlook calendar invite? Everytime anyone from my windows office sends me a Microsoft Office Outlook calendar invite it shows up as a "mime-attachment.ics"... All I can do from my iphone i see the file but I'm unable to open it or even have the option of accepting or declining the Outlook invite...!
I've really tried to look within the support nd forums but only eem to find scant info. on the subject. Not even AT&T nor Apple phone support can help.They just keep repeating the same thing... if the file is not in the apple acceptable format, the iphone can't see it nor open it nor deal with it.

Sorry Kimberly, it will not. Apple does not provide a downgrade path for the iOS for a variety of reasons.

Can't open "mime-attachment.ics" file...

I have my emails forwarded to the email account I use on my iPhone. Everything comes across fine, except calendar invitations. These come across with an attached "mime-attachment.ics" file...I just want to open it so I can see the time being proposed... don't need it to update my calendar. Can't find an app that will open an .ics file... any suggestions?

tongadog is absolutely right. You cannot receive an email with an invitation and open the .ics attachment to see what you are invited to. Not only the iPhone email application should be able to understand the attachment and display the description of the calendar invitation, date, time, location and so on, but one should be able to tap on it and have the invitation sent to the calendar. This is very very obvious and basic requirement. If Apple wants the iPhone to live in the business environment this is a fundamental functionality. People in the Windows environment constantly sent these types of invitations and people with Blackberrys continuously laugh at me because I cannot see the content on my iPhone and I am lost as to when the next meeting is. Please Apple, this should be an easy one for you!!! By the way, it is not a 3.0 or 3.1 issue, it's always been like this, I've been suffering from this for a year and a half.
