If you are trying to update your iPod, then all you need to do is have the latest version of iTunes installed and plug it in. It will check of any updates if they are available and update your iPod. I have also provided the User Guide for your model of iPod as well.

Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. Edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from your hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart.
Avoid using an older or modified .ipsw file. Try moving the current .ipsw file (see Advanced Steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw) below for file locations), or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw. -
Hi can anyone please help. My I Phone is in recovery mode. I have loads of pics and vids including my little girl counting to ten for the first time.
Can I recover these files or have I lost them? I lost the phone last week and it was returned working but with an update to install I did this and it shut down.

You have no choice at this point but to restore from your last backup. -

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again. -

Actually, I want to upgrade my WhattsApp application and as soon as I click the upgrade button in App Store, it asks for the password of previous apple i.d., which I don't have as I have bought this phone from somebody. There is no option for log out or log in. It there any other way out to upgrade the WhatsApp ????

I am unable to delete an old email address and update new Apple ID and emaill on my iPhone. Can anyone please help me please?
If the old ID ("email address") is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

I am very troubled with my ipod touch because I don't see my ipod folder showing up on my computer. i have tried all possible ways to make it viewable but somehow i end up seeing only my internal storage (dcim/pictures). Its really frustrating because bought a new laptop with windows 8 and installed a new itunes but only to find out that i cant transfer my songs right away.... I can connect my ipod touch to the itunes swiftly but to transfer my songs from my ipod to my computer is such a hassle. so please if anyone could help me figure this out... I am having major trouble trying to get photos into IPhoto. On my old macbook, I just had to hit the IPhoto button - I have hundreds of photos and events but now I have this MacPro when I hit the Iphoto button the photos just "disappear" into a document file on the dock and the photos are all contained in some kind of arcs....I'm not computer literate and spent 2 years in one on one just learning IPhoto Could some one out there please help me.?
What version of iPhoto are you using? Where are the photos coming from that go into the document on the Dock? What iPhoto button are you referring to?

Hi. We have two ipod gen 5, one iPad 2 and one iPad air. Since thus morning we can get very limited internet access. Constantly getting the message "500 internal server error". Hi all can anyone help a man who knows very little about computers but is desperate for some help, i down loaded the new ios6 and lost all my data incuding my music, i just need to sync from my pc but it will not sync at all can anyone tell me what to do.
I have the same problem, since the update two days ago, appears when you always unlock the Apple logo and a loading bar (see file below).
