There is no way to downgrade to a different iOS. Apple does not support downgrading. See this link regarding speeding up the iPhone 4. http://osxdaily.com/2013/09/23/ios-7-slow-speed-it-up/

  • My nano's power button is jammed in. I can't wake it up to use the touch screen and I can't put it to sleep to save the battery. The only way to wake it up is to plug into computer. How do I get it unjammed?

The power button on my nano appears to be jammed. I didn't notice until I tried to check the distance on my pedometer while on a walk, because the music was playing fine. I just couldn't wake the touch screen to do anything. It plays fine. Anyone know how to fix this?

You'll need to get it serviced.

  • HT1414 My 4th gen iPod touch is slow and has a lot of lag time with the touch screen and home button. It's just slow. Its a 32 gb thats barly half way full and im very disappointed. what do i do?

My 4th generation iPod touch is super slow and sometimes i have to click the home button multiple times before anything happens. Its up to date and is a 32 gb but barely half way full. My friends have the same kind as i do, and they have the same problem. Mine is a little over a year old and i'm VERY disappointed in something that i spent over $300 for. What am i supposed to do to make this peice of crap work like it's supposed to? I paid a lot of money for it and i expect it to work but the only thing i've heard so far is "turn it on and off." Yeah... cause that solves everything. Does anyone know how to help me?

Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
Also, sometimes restoring the iPod helps.

  • Is there a way to check if the touch screen and display works whilst iPod is apart?

    Hi,
I pulled my iPod Touch 4G apart up to the circuit board in order to pull out the headphone socket.
Before I pulled it apart, the screen was cracked but everything was perfectly visible and the touch function worked perfectly.
Because the screen was cracked, when I pulled the iPod apart, I obviously lost small chunks of the screen.
Now when I plug the two plugs from the LCD screen into the circuit board and put the iPod together without screws, it looks like this:
    http://s251.photobucket.com/user/matt9210/media/2013-06-19014523_zps86e6bc6e.jpg .html
So I'm not sure whether buying a new screen is the answer, because I'm worried it will still have the same effect on the new screen.
Another question: The headphone socket wasn't working. I had to hold the earphones in order to get any sound, and knocking them would lose the sound. I checked with other earphones before opening the iPod, so it's a problem with the iPod. What do I do with the headphone socket to avoid this problem?
Also, is this good enough to replace the iPod screen? A lot cheaper than I thought, thought I'd check what the catch is.

  • I have Ipad 2.  When I touch an icon, a box forms around it and then I have to tap it twice to open.  The box is messing up the touch screen and when I go into some apps they open, update then shut down.

I have an Ipad2.  All of a sudden when I touch an app or select anything, a box forms around the icon or word and then I have to tap it twice to open it.  So everything I do I have to touch 3 times.  Also now when I open some of the apps, they open, update then close down.   How do I get rid of the box.

You might have turned VoiceOver 'on'. See if triple-clicking the home button turns it off, and if it does then cahnge what Settings > General > Axxessibility > Triple-Click Hme is set to.
Otherwise your need to use the 'touch to select, double-tap to activate' process to go into Settings > General > Accessibility > VoiceOver and turn it off.
The manual (http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipad) also says that you should be able to switch voice-over off by connecting to your computer's iTunes :
Turn VoiceOver on or off in iTunes: Select iPad in the iTunes sidebar. In the Options section of the Summary pane, click Configure Universal Access. Select VoiceOver, then click OK.
So select Configure Universal Access at the bottom of the Summary tab and set Seeing to Neither

  • I droped my ipod touch on the floor and got a little tiny scratch (well not that little) and know it is hard for me to press some letters on the touch screen and sometimes anything what can i do?

    thank you

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
iOS: How to back up your data and set up as a new device
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • My kid locked the touch screen and it wont unlock?? help

my daughter took her iphone 3g to school and a fellow class mate locked the phone and does not know the password? How can I reset the phone with out getting the thing to lock up for an hour??

Will have to be restored via iTunes. Don't let it sync before you restore it thus it will restore with your last backup (before the code was put on).
If you do accidently sync (or already did) then you will have to restore and choose NOT to load backup else it will put the code back. Thus you have to reset all settings and preferences again and lose any saved data (eg: notes, app settings, etc...but you can sync back contacts and media etc).

  • My 5s is randomly operating itself - self selecting series of buttons with no touch of the touch screen.  Anyone else have this problem?

I have the 5s and about 4 times so far, the phone has gone completely rouge and started operating menu buttons on its own.
It usually starts with unresponsive touch screen and then the phone will completely crazy just running on its own, self selecting a series of random buttons and keys. From that point forward, I can actually sit and watch (not touching the screen), the phone go haywire.  It looks like someone is just randomly hitting phone keys, but no one is.  The only way I can get it to stop is to do a hard reboot.  Sometimes that does not even work and I have to reboot several times or even turn the phone off for a period of time.
Is anyone else having a similar problem?  I would love to show this to an Apple employee at the Genius bar, but I cannot purposely replicate when it occurs.  It is very random.
Note: each IOS update has not seemed to help resolve the problem.

Follow Diesel vdub's advice. Plug your phone into itunes and preform a restore. Then, restore your phone from a backup and see if it fixes it. If not, restore the phone but wait on putting your backup back. See if it works. If not, it looks like its a hardware issue.
It does sound to me like the digitizer (the glass, basically) has gone bad and needs to be replaced. I would visit your local Apple Store after trying a few restores from iTunes.

  • Iphone5 screen not working to the touch off and on?  Anyone else having this problem?  Thanx

Try to reboot it. Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple, about 20 seconds or so. It should reboot and work for you.

This is not a feature of iPhone, iPad or iOS.
Bluetooth is supported for stereo headsets/speakers, handsfree telephone
devices/headsets, some keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the
app store and internet tethering where provided by the carrier.
Other than this it will not connect to a phone/computer/device.  (thanks to ckuan for the wording)

Well, I recently checked apple.com, and the "pre-order" button has been replaced with the "buy now" button. This is a very good sign that the iPods will begin to ship soon! There is still no exact date, but I expect that they will ship within the next 3 days. You should get an email when they have shipped.
    Take care!

Double-tap the screen with three fingers, then go to Settings and disable the Zoom function so you don't accidentally trigger it again.
The User Guide is available at http://support.apple.com/manuals/ or downloadable from iTunes as an iBook.

  • The touch screen has frozen and is unresponsive.

The touch screen has frozen and is unresponsive. I tried synching it to my Mac, updating it, dumping my apps and resetting as new, as the tech support guy at Apple suggested, but it still does not work. Now what? Sadly, my warrenty has expired.

Frozen as on a particular image?
If so you might want to try a hard power down (if you haven't already).
I'm sure there are some better people to actually answer your direct question, other than me.
    Sorry
