Mini 1030nr CMOS chip location on motherboard

Does anyone know which is the CMOS chip in motherboard? I had no luck trying to resolve the checksum error and I want to try a couple more tricks, Thanks.

Forum Tool, can't help with BIOS recovery.{It can be used it to flash the BIOS,but not for recovery}
If BIOS recovery doesn't works sent the mainboard back for repair.
Make sure that you have done >>Clear CMOS Guide<< with power cord removed

Mini 1030nr CMOS Checksum bad - Restarts and hangs

After checksum error, it restarts with HP logo again with F9 to select boot device or F10 to enter setup but neither key does anything. Tried CTL Home and rom file in USB floppy but it seems it never reads from the floppy. It does access the floppy during Post like normal but it doesn't seem to read it again to get the ROM file. Since it's not booting from USB flash drive, there is no way to run the Windows BIOS flash. Is there a way to set BIOS to default? How can I flash since there is no OS running? It just hangs with two function keys having no effect. Thanks for any suggestions.

I have an HP Mini 110 - 1040TU and has got the same checksum bad / F9/F10 key hang-up. Any run-around to get rid of these problems and make the mini work ? Thanks.

How do I share access to Dreamweaver with a colleague of mine in a separate location?
I currently have DW loaded onto my desktop. I am presuming that if my colleague wants to get access to it, I have to copy the DW files I've created and put them onto the creative cloud connection. If that is the answer, How do I do that?
My colleague has already downloaded DW onto his computer - he just can't see the files that I've created, even though I am making sure that my version of DW is always closed when he accesses his version.

It is against the standard Dreamweaver license for your colleague to be using your license. Your colleague needs his license.

I have two different Mac Mini at two different locations. Both systems are running Lion.
One of the Mac Mini systems connected to my iphone G4 as well as Ipad 64-Wifi, work perfect to sunchronise. ( IO5 is present)
I would like to run the changes i made with cloud to the other Mac mini system, but this doesn't work.
Any one to help me?

You should be able to use the Vista drivers from your notebook's support and driver page for whatever drivers W7 doesn't install, or get them from other Mini's with similar hardware that do have W7 drivers such as this one...

Mini 1030NR keyboard: no home/end keys

I bought a Mini 1030NR and it is working just fine. Had a SamsungQ1 with touchscreen previously, just a little too small, but its keyboard (bought separately) had page up, page down, home, and end keys which you accessed with the Fn button. I see nothing like them on the keyboard of the HP Mini. I can do page up/ page down by customizing the touch pad settings. I see no way to program anything for the Home and End key functions. Can anyone help?

As my mini 210 like at least one review sample I read about has a slightly misbehaving touchpad.I use one of the exquisite Logitech MX Revolution optical mice it comes with 7 extra buttons that can each readily have keystrokes "programmed " in (assigned) including Fn plus the four arrow keys or the 11 function keys (I use F6 for Gadwin Prointscreen) using the most excellent Logitech Setpoint program. I am currently putting the finishing touches fo a tutorial entitled
"The Logitech MX Revolution Optical Wireless Mouse Supplemented by the freeware program AutoHotKey"
(Autohotkey as far as I can fathom out does not easily support the FN key

IPad mini iOS 6.1 location services dead

Did a fresh install of iOS 6.1 on my not even week old iPad mini. Now location services won't work. Nothing I can do will get it to work. Disabling location services then re-enabling. Fresh install with no apps. Disabling specific apps then re-enabling. Nothing works.
32GB white iPad mini wifi. No location services at all.

Read one of the dozen identical threads that were posted within the last half hour, or the hundreds that have been posted over the last few days. Didn't you even glance?

HP Mini 1030NR Battery Bulging

The battery on my HP Mini 1030NR appears to be bulging. I went to put it back in its case and when I flipped it over I noticed that the battery was bulging and had cracked the casing.
It still holds a charge, but I'm assuming it isn't safe to use. Is there any way to get a replacement?

I assume you are long out of warranty. The HP Mini batteries are unfortunately known to do this. I would call HP and see if you can talk them into a new battery. Good luck. If not, they are sold on this site in the Store or on eBay.

HP Mini 1030NR - Hard Drive Question

Right now I have the 16GB SSHD in my netbook. It seems kind of sluggish.
Is there anyway for me to upgrade the hard drive to a HDD instead of the SSHD?

I have the same HP mini 1030nr 16GB SSD. It was also very sluggish.
After I installed an SSD accelerator (FlashFire09c), it becomes very usable and is comparable to my Toshiba M70 100GB HDD.
In fact, the time from cold-boot to load-up internet browser is less than 50 sec. Much faster in most applications except those are CPU intensive.

IMO. It is no point to upgrade this model to HDD.

Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE4E) - BIOS chip location

Does anyone know the location of the BIOS chip on this Toshiba or have an image of something similar so I know what I am looking for? I have taken out the motherboard and despite a sticker that says ISKAA V1.20 BIOS, AAB4, U52 I cant find it (assuming U52 refers to the chip number).
Dead laptop after a failed BIOS update so investigating getting another reprogrammed if I can find where the chip is.
I didn't actually want to update the BIOS - I run the Toshiba BIOS util to see what version I had installed (I think every other BIOS util I have used allows you to see this info before doing anything) - the sire lists v5.6 for XP but v2.6 for Vista (haven't heard of different BIOSes for different OS's before. The Toshiba util went straight into programming - no info, no warning.
It's not worth the cost to replace the mobo and environmentally I would prefer to at least try the chip replacement (perhaps if anyone from Toshiba is reading this and they would prefer that environmentally it would be better to try than chuck it away, then they might feel inclined to let me know where it is!)

Well Paul at Grains sent me a new programmed BIOS next day and it all worked perfectly. Being only 8 pins witha decent soldering iron it wasn't hard, and you don't even have to remove the motherboard as you can get to the PCMCIA mechanism retaining screws via the second hard disk slot.
So to recap if you have killed your BIOS:
You can pay a Toshiba ASP 150+VAT for a new mobo, plus 90+VAT fitting, plus 30 P&P
or
Get a new BIOS from GRAINS for 14 total inc P&P
He will fit for I think about 50 plus postage, but that is still a lot cheaper and it you are out of warranty a good option.

The BIOS chip is soldered onto the mainboard, you just can't replace it. It also needs to be programmed before usage using a special EPROM machine..

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate Build 6002.
I downloaded and installed the Bitlocker from Windows Extras for Vista ultimate under Windows Update. I got a message stating:
A TPM was not found. A TPM is required to turn on Bitlocker. If your computer has a TPM, then contact the computer manufacturer for Bitlocker-compatible BIOS. Currently, I have BIOS version F.2E

I would not have any idea how you would go about getting a TPM chip added to the motherboard, or if it is even possible.
I am not a PC repair tech or electronics technician by trade.
If your work requires the need of a TPM chip, I would recommend you purchase an off lease or new HP business notebook, and make sure the model you want comes with one.
I know the Elitebook notebook models do, and the old ncXXXX models do.
Some of the Probook models have them too, but not all of them.

Mac mini Unable to find location

Mac Mini 2.3G i7 Purchased Jan 2014. Originally find my mac worked great. Can no longer can find its location. Find my Mac shows it is on but cannot locate. iMap can no longer can locate its location. Other Macs and iPads on same network have no problem. IDEAS??

Logged off the wifi then back in and it found the mini. Funny thought the wifi, which I use the mini for streaming video to our large flat screen worked fine?

HP Mini 1030NR Battery explosion - no recall?

The battery in my 1030NR exploded this week, in an unspectacular fashion - just a bulge in the middle.
It no longer fits in the battery hole, which is probably not a big deal, since I suspect that it won't hold a charge any more...ha. Fortunately for me, the mini will run on straight AC, without a battery...just need to tape over those pesky contacts.
Is there any reason to believe that this battery should have been recalled as well? Has anyone else had any success with out-of-warranty battery replacement when they explode?
