Mini 110 3000

anyone know how to access the ram sodimm in a hp mini 110 3000 netbook? No ram door on the bottom of the machine.

I found the solution after much research, so I want to put it here in case anyone else finds this thread via google.  The problem was the HP Support Assistant software.  I got suspicious when it did some updates yesterday and took almost 2 hours to complete four simple driver updates.  As an experiment I uninstalled it and instantly performance fell within normal levels.  As I write this my CPU is fluctuating between 2 and 12%, and even running games now through DOXBOX or STEAM my CPU doesn't get over 65% or so.
HP, fix your broken software or don't put it on your machines!

  • HP Mini 110-3000 is anything upgradable ?

Hello HP experts, I need some help. Can I somehow upgrade my video card or RAM on my HP Mini 110-3000 ? Im looking forward to have a good gaming experience so that I dont have to buy any expensives laptop.

I'm not going to say that you can't upgrade your graphics card. but I would guess that if you had the tools and skill needed to sodder a new graphics chip into this system you wouldn't be here. so short answer for video upgrade, no. not going to happen on a notebook, let alone a mini.
but you can upgrade you RAM..

you want to play games on this? are we talking minesweeper? maybe the HP image of the device doesn't do it justice but it looks tiny.. more like a netbook. these things just aren't made to crank out the big games.

  • Hp mini 110-3000, unexpectedly shutdown when unplugged. Pass the "battery test" !

    Hi,
My HP mini 110-3000 acts up recently.
    It randomly shuts down.
    Only when unplugged. (On battery)
    No error message shown.
This happens when battery power is around 60%
It's definetly not thermal, the netbook lasts forever when plugged in. (unless running on battery makes it hotter ???)
But it doesn't feel any hotter. It's just warm to the touch, normal.
I also did the battery test as suggested, says that everything is fine.
Worked fine just a month ago.
The battery would drain normally, with warning message around 12% then sleep around 9%.
Now, it shuts down around 60%.
It was bought less than 19 months ago... I would expect something a longer lifetime.
    Any hint would help.
    Thank you
    Etienne

19 months is on the short side but in the range of normal battery longevity. Given your description it is extemely unlikely to be anything other than it just needs a new battery.

  • HP Mini 110-3000 Recovery Disk

Anybody having a HP Mini 110-3000 portable computer? I'm trying to create a Recovery Disk on a USB Key, the process is successfull but when unplugging the key and plus again, nothing on the disk and ask me to format the key. Retried a couple of time and really need a restore key. HP is selling the restore key too much expansive and it's very cheap not to provide a restore CD or key with a computer we buy. HP provide a process to create a free Recovery Disk but no free alternative if it's not working.

My Notebook still have all original hardware and the Recovery Manage Create Media is completing all the process. Right after, I can see the files on disk. When I reboot or simply unplug the USB key and plug it back, Windows ask me to format it and cannot see the files on it. Here's screenchots of the process.

What was the operating system that came along with the unit? Since it is a Mini unit, it works either with Widows XP or Windows 7 Starter on it.

  • HP Mini 110-3000 Dialogue Box

I am having trouble seeing the full screen on some dialogue boxes, specicically the bottom. Example: the internet dialogue change screen. The dialogue box is too large to gain access to the boxes on the bottom.

I found a solution to my inability to view the entire Track Changes dialog box in my HP Mini running Windows 7.  I tried everything, including, as one site recommended, holding Alt and dragging the window with the left mouse button. That worked fine until I let go and then the dialog box popped back into place, denying me the ability to click OK at the bottom.
I tried a Registry trick, but I didn't get to step 1 because my graphics card evidently doesn't have what it takes.
In desperation, I was poking around the graphics card dialog boxes and noticed that the netbook was set to a landscape screen. What if I put it temporarily into portrait? Yes, then I'd be able to see the entire dialog box. Whoopie! It worked. This was the first time that I used Microsoft Word 2007 on this machine, so I think this is probably the only time I'll need to go through this procedure. I used this computer with XP before, but I cannot recall what I did in 2009 to set up Track Changes.
Anyway, I hope my little discovery helps someone, even though I'm replying two years after this question was asked.

  • I bought (used) a hp mini 110-1000 netbook that at the time had what appeared to be windows 7 starte

I bought (used) a hp mini 110-1000 netbook that at the time had what appeared to be windows 7 starter on the machine. After booting into windows, it displayed the blue screen of death. I didn't locate a recovery partition or was able to access windows system restore, so I ordered a windows starter usb system recovery and received it today. After trying unsuccessfully to reinstall windows I am at a loss. It gets about  a third of the way installing the software on the system and then it says it failed. I ordered by both the model number (110-3000 , or product wy699av) and serial number {Removed for privacy}. I am at a loss as to what to do, as I have bought a usb recovery media and it won't continue the install. Nowhere on the netbook is a sticker declaring the os or the model number so i researched by the other model #'s i found listed..Please help, and thanks.

I dont know how they had windows starter on this unit, but the sticker is for xp. Guess I bought a recovery usb stick that is usless to me, and now I'm stuck with it. I also checked the bios and it said it had a non vista os, after I found out how to get into it. I still don't understand how I was able to order the win 7 starter recovery usb, even after I input the serial number into the form. I would have thought it wouldn't allow me to order an incorrect os.

  • In Brazil. . . Do I need an adapter to plug in my HP Mini 110 into a 220 Voltage plug?

Hi! I'm living in Brazil for a while and just got here. I have an HP Mini 110 and the plugs here say 220V. Is it safe to plug in my computer or do I need some kind of converter? If so what kind?
My power is about to run out!!!!!
    Thanks in advance,
    Sasha

No. The power brick for the iPod senses the voltage and adjusts for the different ones.
You will need an adapter to switch form flat us pins tot the round pins used on their plugs.

  • Hp Mini 110 1013tu Keyboard is Not working after upgrade to win 7

Hello need help on weird happenings to my keyboard..
Before i upgrade the Operating System From Windows XP to Windows 7 the Hp Mini 110 is working fine..
All keys on keyboard is working and touchpad is also working.
But after upgrading to windows 7 some keys on keyboard are not working like z,x,c,v, left ctrl and other more keys..
what do you think is the problem??
    Hardware Issue? or Driver Issue?
    please help thank you..

    Hello @MysticDragon ,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand some of the keys on your keyboard are not working after installing Windows 7.
I do not see any drivers available for your notebook for Windows 7 on the HP website, so their might be some compatibility issues as it's going to rely on Windows update to find current drivers. This doesn't mean it will not work, but I cannot say for sure that it will.
    Try this:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Click Control Panel.
    3. Click Clock, Language, and Region.
    4. Click Region and Language.
    5. Click the Keyboards and Languages tab.
    6. Click Change keyboards...
    7. On the General tab, make sure English (United States) - US is selected in the Default input language field.
    8. Click on any other keyboards in the Installed services list.
    9. Click Remove.
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.
You may also want to try rolling back to Windows XP and see if the issue persists. It is possible the issue is coincidental and not the direct result of the update to Windows 7.
Let me know if this works!
