Mini 210-2080nr touchpad help

Hello,
I recently bought a HP Mini 210-2080NR and I'm having difficulties with the touchpad. The right and left key is connected to the touchpad. When using the touchpad, I'm able to navigate with the entire touchpad including the keys and that is causing a huge inconvenience.
Is there a way to lock the right and left click keys on the touchpad, so I'm able to navigate smoothly? Thanks in advance.

Check if you have Accidental Contact Mitigation (ACM) feature in the Synaptics Properties Windows, that will help you set restrict the tap and pointer movement zone...So outside that zone, you can have more control over tap and pointer movement, To Activate the function, Click on Filter Activation Time, and set the Filter Activation Time to Zero Seconds and check.......Check below screenshot...

  • How can i recover my password on a HP Mini 210-1018CL

I have forgotten my password on my HP Mini 210-1018CL please help.  Thanks

Short of doing a System Recovery to get a fresh install the only other thing is to use a password removal tool such as OfflineNT.

  • Mini 210 touchpad consistently causes mouse to fly off to the side, disrupting typing on keyboard

I have had several generations of HP Minis.  In fact, I have a mini 210-2100.
However, I purchased a Mini 210-3000, and whenever I type on it, the touchpad always causes the mouse to fly off to the side disrupting typing.  I've already disabled, the extra sensitivity on the mouse settings in the control panel, and that seemed to mitigate the problem somewhat.
However, the problem persists.  I'm wondering if anyone else has figured out how to resolve this issue.  I'm really regretting having purchased this computer.

I have kmsconvt installed and running(i like it :-) ) instead getty and maybe that is proplem since all TTY's behave bad after x is running. whit bad I mean that input from one tty leaks to another, and image does also leak. I gota try if swithing back to  getty and see if it helps.
and as wiki tells kmscon uses kms(kernel mode set ) which doesn't have good reputation whit closed source Nvidia(or AMD) drivers
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KMSCON
Starting X from getty seems to work just nice, so I asume it is KMSCON bug.
I reported bug on KMSCON git hub page: https://github.com/dvdhrm/kmscon/issues/105

  • I have an hp mini 210-4000 that has had no sound for 48 hours, little help?

    Model: HP Mini 210-4000
    O/S: Windows 7 (starter)
I have had no audio for about 48 hours now and am looking for some help please. At first I thought that it may have been a hardware failure but having done a system check windows is informing me that the internal speaker is enabled and that it is working normally. There has been no physical damage to the notebook either.
I have tried all of the standard troubleshooting techniques that are suggested and have tried restoring everything to the way it was about 4 days ago with no success.
The light next to the mute button has stopped lighting up no matter whether it is set to mute or not. In terms of the software if I perform standard tests and play audio through any programs it is being recognised by everything (speaker icon, 'beats' audio desk, applications etc) but there is just nothing to be heard.
The notebook is set to normally install automatic updates and I have seen from the forums that other people have been experiencing similar problems from across the board. Has an update been released that may have caused this?
Any help that people can offer in rectifying this problem that I'm assuming is software-based would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

  • HP Mini 210-4000 Blue Screen of Death PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error

I've been up and down the Forums here with no specific luck, unfortunately, so I'm going to ask even if this has been queried and solved in another part of the site which I may have missed.
I am trying to sort out a friend's HP Mini Notebook, model HP Mini 210-4125sa. The machine started up well enough until a week ago, when it suddenly decided to blue screen.
The specific error message text displayed within the BSOD reads as follows:
    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
    TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
    *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x87E40000, 0x00000000, 0x92442B13, 0x00000000)
I can not boot past the Windows 7 loading screen - the load bar makes it two fifths up and that's it.
I had thought to try and recover the operating system, if at all possible, from what is apparently a recovery partition that is created on the HD ( i haven't worked with these machines before unfortunately), although i cannot figure how to get at this partition before the error hits.
Also, having attempted to download a piece of software from the HP USB Recovery Flash Disk Utility, i realise that it seems necessary to actually use this from the notebook itself, which is not possible.
Having started running the various onboard tests from the BIOS menu, the Hard Disk Test has just apparently failed (specifically the Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless).HP have not unfortunately been an awful lot of help as they wil only offer a one-off technician support call for forty quid, or to take the notebook away for repair, the cost of which is practically as much as the original cost of the hardware. I would of course prefer to try and sort this out myself but have hit a bit of a wall at the moment. Any suggestions would be fantastic, at this point.
    This question was solved.

That hardware test for the hard disk is a dead giveaway of a failed item. A failed hard disk  is a show stopper.
Hard Disk Optimized DST portion of the test), with failure ID GGBXXV-66A75U-MFPX0J-61VV03 (i'm not certain if this information is of value but am including it nonetheless) It is important information.
A corrupted NTFS volume (the hard disk) can also generate the " PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA error"  stop message.

  • WIN 7 Home Premium and a HP mini 210-1000!

Have mini 210-1000, refurb, came with a WIN 7 Starter, never did check and record the product key that came with...ERROR!
    1.  Went on line 12 days ago and purchased WIN 7 Home premium.  Have spend HOURS on line with MS techs trying to get it to install.  Came here before I waste any more time.
This machine has 1G RAM - CAN it install WIN 7 Home premium?
    2.  Since the last attempted install (MS using PowerISO Virtual Drive Manager (free download ver.), and which was UNsuccessful, my HP and MS now tell me that my WIN 7 Starter is 'not genuine' and they give me several options to obtain the product key.
The product key in control panel/status is not EVEN in the correct format and starts with 2 (unacceptable) zeros...
IF this machine was refurbed by HP or Contractor, does HP have a usable product key to return me to normal operation?  Am having trouble re-reaching the MS tech, I believe HE's out of ideas...
ANYone know a guru ?  Am not quite ready to invest  $$$ to fix a mess that MS started - and it's a long, long story...which takes me back to the original question:  am I asking my Notebook to install WIN 7 Home Premium when it's not able??
Thank you for any help you can provide!

  • HP Mini 210-1000sa Track Pad Problem

I've just bought a HP Mini 210-1000sa and I'm finding the Track pad truely AWFUL to use - not at all up to the usual HP high quality.
As the left and right buttons are part of the track pad "sensitive" area, when you use one finger to position the cursor then touch the left button area with another finger the track pad will either:
    a) move the cursor to a new position!
    b) ignore your click because you already have a finger touching the pad (leading to having to make several click attempts!
    c) it might work
A further problem is that although the buttons give a re-assuring "click", as they are part of the "sensitive" area of the pad, if your finger is too high on the paad (ie outside the marked area of the button), it will still "click" but nothing happens.
Is there an update (software or hardware) to fix this problem?  I'm finding it unusable as it is, I have to use an external usb or bluetooth mouse.  This partly defeats the object of having an ultra portable device!
    Thanks for any help ...
