Mini-bridge CS6 : impossible to show thumbnails

Impossible to show thumbnails in mini-bridge.
This bar which was in CS5 is missing in CS6
Therefore you cannot neither show nor change dimensions of the thumbnails.
Reynold Jaquet

But they do auto-resize as you change the height of mini-bridge, so on my PC I can see sixteen thumbnails when mini-bridge is at its smallest:

  • Bridge CS6 not generating correct thumbnails for RAW files

I'm running Bridge CS6 (the latest version, 5.0.2.4) on a 2013 MacBook Pro (OSX 10.9.1) and suddenly as of today Bridge is no longer updating the thumbnails for my RAW files. All other image and video file formats are having thumbnails generated but not my Nikon NEF raw files including those which I have previously worked on in ACR. I have tried purging the entire cache, restarting Bridge and even rebooting my computer and still the raw thumbnails are not being generated.
Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
    Eric
Actually I've just noticed that thumbnails for jpegs are not being generated either. A thumbnail is only generated if I work on a file in Photoshop and then save it.

Check you cache disk free space.  You should have at least 15%.  For a 700g drive that that 100g free.
Have you reset preferences?  Hold down option key and start bridge.  You will get a reset window.

  • Mini Bridge CS6 nav pod needs sorting

How can I resort the folders shown in the Navigation Pod of Mini Bridge in InDesign CS6? They seem to be in a completely random order, and I would at least like to see them in conventional alphanumeric order. I have no problem re-sorting the content in the main viewing panel.

    Hello,
I'm trying to use mini bridge in Photoshop, but it does not show up on my panel on the lower left.  I currently have Bridge open.  I just want to access it through Photoshop. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

As far as I everything is up to date.  I have a Macbook Pro. here is the screen shot

  • Auto Scaling thumbs in Mini Bridge really necessary?

I would expect that opening up Mini Bridge would simply show more thumbs rather than automatically scaling 1 or 2 as big as possible.
How is this useful? And how is it not annoying?
I wish Mini bridge had a Scale Slider like its big brother has.
Don't think I'm gonna have this panel open at all when I get CS6.

This was the discussion where it was stated as design rather than bug:

  • Mini bridge in ID CS 6 - control for size of thumbnail, bottom of pane, missing

Mini bridge in ID CS 6 is of course essential.
Suddenly, the little control at the bottom of the Mini bridge pane, for control of thumbnail size, is missing.  See screen shot of the control here, when we can get it by (laboriously) re-starting.
As soon as we do anything with the Mini bridge pane, the control disappears.  Then we only see large-size thumbnails. (We are forced to go through a restart to get again, then it disappears again, then …)  Which makes it more than difficult to find what we need, among the many.
We hope someone has previously solved this problem.  Or that Adobe support knows the problem, and resolution.
    Thanks in advance,  David Allen

It is indeed possible.  From the Layer Flyout Menu:
    But thank you anyway...

  • Bridge CS6 Trial and Bridge CS5

    Hello
I have just installed Photoshop CS6 trial with Bridge CS6 and notice that as in Bridge CS5, in Bridge CS6, the previews of thumbnails do NOT show sharpening and NR applied in ACR7, even after purging the cache and setting monitor size preview. Is there any reason why? It means that if I run a slideshow, some of the editing in ACR does not appear in the views.
Surely the monitor size preview jpegs should reflect all work changes made in ACR.

  • Bridge Help | Mini Bridge

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/using/mini-bridge.html

hi there, i totally agree with anne marie, after LOVING mini bridge in cs5, i am very disappointed by cs6's version.
having a large library of psd files that are sorted into large list of categorical folders, it was hugely productive to be able to click in the main preview window of mini bridge (where you could see thumbnails of folders OR jpgs/psd, start typing the first few letters of the name of folder i wanted to access to be taken to it, hit enter to go into that folder, and view thumbnails of the psd files within, then drag a psd as a photoshop smart object into my project. essentially it appears that mini bridge in cs5 worked just like bridge's 'compact' version, although neatly within the photoshop workspace. perfect.
now, because i can't see folders in the main thumbnail area, i have to use the  navigation pod above it (which i used to have minimized in cs5) which does not support typing to get to a folder (which means that i have to scroll down the looooong list of folders to get to the one i want), i tried using the 'search' function, but it only searches files, not folders, mini bridge is pretty much useless to me now, and takes even longer than using finder to get to an image i want to use. i know i can use bridge but i find it really annoying going between the two now when cs5 mini bridge was pretty much perfect for this.
not only that, but when i drag a psd into my document now, it is automatically turned into a rasterized layer instead of a photoshop smart object as it did in cs5. also devastating to my particular workflow. is there a setting im missing that i cant find??? ive googled it to death and although ive found others with this problem there doesnt seem to be a workaround. seems like being able to type to get to a folder a stupid omission to make, surely im missing something obvious???

  • Share a customized Bridge CS6 or CC workspace with others on my team: Is this possible? Is there a specific file I can copy and share?

I set up a customized Bridge CS6 workspace that shows specific information team members need, and nothing else. I'd like to share it, save it as a preference, or otherwise export it so team members can have it, too. There must be a file, eh?
Otherwise, I am looking at visiting 14 workstations to set it up individually.
    Please advise! Thanks!

Which OS?  In Windows 7 bridge CS6 workspaces are stored in
      C:\Users\user-name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS6\Workspaces
You might try copying the specific workspace file to the same directory on the other systems.

  • Bridge CS6 does not recognize videos but CS4 does

    Hi forum,
My copy of Bridge CS6 suddenly stopped showing a preview image for video files and does not play them either.  Lightroom 4.4 and Lightroom 5 also do not recognize video files (.mov's, .avi's, m-pegs...).  My Lightroom used to have no problem playing them.
Bridge CS4 sees them and plays them as normal.
I purged my video cache in Lightroom, uninstalled and reinstalled it, updated Quicktime and am running OSX 10.8.5.

  • CS6 Mini Bridge - Thumbnail size and preview

I've just upgraded to CS6 (design & web premium) and was setting up my workspace in InDesign, and after adding (docking) Mini Bridge there seems to be no preview or anyway to change the size of the thumbnails I can view.
I use Mini Bridge a lot as we have folders that include 100+ assets in, and it's good to see a small thumbnail to quick scan, then to click on it to see more detail.  Now all I can see is a maximum of 6 thumbnails, which means I will need to scroll a lot to find anything.
I've read the following topic from the PS CS6 Beta forum (http://forums.adobe.com/message/4286375#4286375#4286375), and was wondering if this "as designed" thinking has been rolled over to  InDesign, meaning that in order to  change the thumbnail size (with no preview), I have to have Mini Bridge undocked and if I want to see more detail, I have to enlarge the thumbnail, then reduce again to carry on searching?
If so, it seems like a massive oversight, as InDesign is a layout tool and having easy access to multiple documents to include (and to see what they are) is vital, which isn't helped by the seemingly arcane way to access folders.
Hopefully this is me just being a bit dim and missing something obvious, otherwise it's going to cause a lot of hassle in my day to day work.
If anyone has a definitive answer, that would be great.
    Cheers.
    Craig Hurford

Adobe needs to realize that if "as designed" results in users thinking it's a bug or otherwise not useful — then it's a bad design choice and should be revised. They need to leave options in place for people that don't agree with some of their "new" aka bad ideas.
Assuming users don't want to use Mini Bridge vertically is just ridiculous — especially since you can't dock it to the bottom in InDesign like you can in Photoshop.
And not showing folders in the thumbnail view is most unintuative thing to do here. If it's a Mini Bridge, why doesn't it behave like bridge and at least have a check box for filtering out folders or something.
Mini Bridge is kind of useless now.

  • Cs6 bridge not showing thumbnails for raw file

    Just upgraded to CS6
cs6 bridge not showing thumbnails for raw files.
Can see thumbnails in CS5.1 bridge  and LR 4.2 which fortunately i did not uninstall.
Bummer since I am up against a hard deadline.
    Really Sucks

We can't know. You are not offering any system information or e.g. info about what image files you are working with. Since they do show up in your otehr programs, my assumption would be that you need to switch the Camera Raw engine back to the 2009/2010 version in Photoshop and not use the default new 2012 one. Perhaps your thumbnails will appear then....

  • Mini bridge in CS6 Photoshop displaying grey thumbnails

    Hello,
I"m on a MAC platform and working with CS6 Photoshop with minibridge (thumbnails preview at the bottom). When I preview the images, the thumbnails are all grey.
Does anyone has an answer to switch back to normal view.
    Thanks!
    sntm

    Hello,
Thank you for replying to this discussion. The grey  thumbnail preview occurs only in minibridge when I launched Photoshop CS6, not the case with the regular bridge. I can preview thumbnails with images in the regular bridge. Nonetheless, I've tried purging cache but to no avail, grey thumbnails still displaying in the mini bridge.
    Thanks,

  • Mini bridge thumbnails-cs6

Is there a way to change the size of the thumbnails in mini bridge without resizing the panel?
Both on windows 8cp 32 bit.

    Very cool! Thanks!!
Deke McClelland does mention in the CS6 videos that in the docked position, the thumbnail size is adjustable by dragging  the Mini Bridge frame.
I guess that's how the docked Mini Bridge is supposed  to work.
