i cant use the web cam for i pad mini while chatting, is this not supported

i am unable to web cam while chatting on yahoo messenger. it is greyed out.

This made me smile, because things like this do make me smile... I never make videos on YouCam, but I did this time, so I could test this one out.
You did not say what webcam software you are using...

Make sure you have turned on a working microphone in Settings:
YouCam > Right-Side Settings >
Right-Side, Lower-Right, Select a working Microphone from the Drop down list
AND
CHECK "Capture with audio"
OK
You can also buy (for $38 US) YouCam 5.0 from the Cyberlink.com website and it has audio/video and all sorts of other goodies, too. (They have 3.x as well, but why buy what HP already gives you?)

Using an extrnal usb camera with yahoo messenger

Is there a way to use an external usb camera with Yahoo Messenger? I just dwonloaded the 10.3.9 upgrade hoping that would help, but no.....

My granddaughter and her children wants us to get on line with our WEB cameras so that we can talk. She uses Yahoo and sent me an invite to join her group, which I did. Last night we went on line and I could access her on camera, but she could not access me.
After reading everything, and looking at the FAQ it appears that I must take steps to set up a web camera program. I would like to use the in line sight camera that is part of this computer, also a part of the lap top. I have not been able to find the instructions on how to make the camera active for web chatting with the Yahoo program.
Can any one help me out???

Judging by the Yahoo! Messenger for Mac page, it doesn't appear that you can talk and use the video at the same time:

"A webcam (web camera) allows you to share live video images of yourself (or things near you) while you are instant messaging with a friend..."
Instant messaging being the same thing as text typing to each other. If you want to have a true video chat with your granddaughter, you would both be best off using [Skype|www.skype.com].

Do the Photo Booth effects apply to your builtin camera on yahoo messenger?

Just got a G5 IMAC and was wondering if you select an "effect" in Photo Booth will it apply to your isight camera. Is that how you are seen or will it be just normal? I am using the BETA version of Yahoo Messenger. Will it owrk on any other chats.
If not are there any programs I can use?

no the effects are only under Photo Booth. You can try iGlasses for effects in other programs.

I am trying to include a Mac Mini with a webcam/microphone to call several family iPhones 4S/5 usisng email addresses vice phone numbers so that we can communicate from outside the US via iPhone to the US (Mac Mini) via wi-fi and email addresses. We are using the same email address for the Mac Mini as for Itunes and made new email addresses for each of the iPhones. I cannot receive calls from the iPhones but can call the iPhones from the Mac Mini. what needs to be corrected?

Yes I can not get the webcam nx to work on yahoo messenger. I can send video and snaphots but I can not get it to work on yahoo messanger. What am I doing wrong? ISight - less then 1fps when chatting on Yahoo Messenger

Does anyone know why my frame rate is really bad when I use my built in iSight camera with Yahoo Messenger? No matter what I set the settings to it is a really really slow rate. I have a cheap $30 webcam that has a much better frame rate.

If you've got FiOS you've got WAY more than enough bandwidth. Do you have a camcorder? If so see if that does any better. How does it work in other chat programs iChat for instance?
I'm not sure why Yahoo would bottleneck it but then again Yahoo has/is notorious for its lack of cutting edge optimization on the Mac side. It may not play nice with Firewire (which I believe even the internal iSights use).
How do you like the FiOS? I'm getting my fiber installed next week.

I down loaded a s/w MacCleanse, it kinda deleted a lot of files from my mac book air after which the web cam stopped working on yahoo messenger. I checked Ichat the cam works perfectly but does'nt with messenger. Does any one have a clue on how to fix this..

from my experience, attempting to use two programs that allow the use of the camera will render it unusable on the second program attempting to use it. So, if you started iChat first, then forgot to quit the program, and are now trying to use Yahoo Messenger, then you must quit iChat first and it should work.
Not unless your cam is really broken?

Before you start MSN disable Camera Assistant Software. When MSN starts try please to check cam functionality under Audio and Video Setup. On step 3 you will have Webcam Setup.
Please select there Chicony USB 2.0 Camera.
The camera should start and in test window you should have picture.
Can you use it now?

Yahoo Messenger Contact web cam too small

I got Yahoo Messenger working thanks to the help I received here. Now my next question is: The contact's web cam (what I see) is very small and I don't see a way to enlarge it. Does anyone know how to maximize this view? Is this an Apple issue? My contact can maximize my view on their PC.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

I have libgtkhtml-2.6.3-2 and it seems to be located in /opt/gnome/include/gtkhtml-2.0/libgtkhtml . Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this to compile or how to edit the PKG_CONFIG_PATH ? I attempted GTKHTML_LIBS=/opt/gnome/include/gtkhtml-2.0/libgtkhtml but I still receive the same error.
