Mini-iPad DEAD and completely unresonsive

Hi I also have a mini ipad that is completely dead, unresponsive and cannot be restarted since it is DEAD!!!! it s just over a year old so no longer covered by gurantee, it was very expensive because i bought the 64gb, so now  i basically use is as an i-mousepad.... very depressing

Hey estherfrommaale adumim,
Thanks for the question. I can understand how frustrating this situation may be. However, to completely isolate to a hardware issue, it would be best to follow each step in this resource:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
Resolution
1. If a single application is not responding or stops responding when it opens, you can force it to close.
2. If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
3. If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
4. If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
          1. If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
          2. Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
          3. If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
          4. If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
          1. Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
          2. If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
          3. If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
6. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thanks,
Matt M.

  • What do i do when my ipad mini is dead and wont charge

You know when your ipad mini is dead you hold the power and it will tell you to put your charger in, even when i put my charger in it still doesnt work.
SOMEONE PLZ HELP I AM SO SCARED

If you have a different charger, try it. If not, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple service provider to have the hardware checked.

  • HT4623 I started the iOs 7 update in my mini iPad yesterday and it froze the screen at the area "Create a Password" at the Apple ID Security area where it asked to add a security question.  It just stopped and I can't go anywhere else.  What's up with tha

I started to do the latest update to iOS7 in my iPad mini and it froze the screen at the area Apple ID security where it asks for "Add Security Question".  I press the next icon, and nothing happens.  The screen is frozen there and I can't get out.  I can go no further forward nor can I be back.  It's just stuck.  This has rendered my mini iPad useless.  What can I do?

If I need to back-up every hour of my life in order to be able to save everything from something like this I won´t do anything else.....at least we should be able to trust that Apple tests this updates so situations like this won´t happen.
That's exactly what Time Machine does for you.  It backs up every hour, so you don't have to.  While it is backing up, you keep on working.  Time Macvhine came with your Mac and you chose not to use it.
The 10.7.4 update did not cause your hard disk to fail.  Hard disk fail due to mechanical causes.  They are extremely reliable, but that doesn't mean every hard disk will last a long time.  Your mileage WILL vary!
If you are dependent on your computer and the data stored on it, then you should make sure you have AT LEAST two copies of all data and probably three or four.  You should use at least two means of backing up in case the backup software has a problem.  And you should consider having a backup computer if you live in an area where replacement takes too long (whatever too long is for your business).
Apple hardware and software is very, very good.  You have documented your experience of this.  But NO hardware or software is perfect.  You also have experience of this.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your system is set up to protect your data and availability of computing resources.

  • Mini ipad overheating and wont turn on

so ive had a mini ipad for about 5 months now and just like about 2 hours ago i has disconeected mi ipad with a 70% charge and decided to replug it in about a hour later i went to check how much charge it had now and it wont turn on i can feel the battery is very hot and i tried hard resetting it by pressing down both buttons and no success there tried ocnneccting it to itunes and my pc wont detect it so no help in itunes now im wondering if theres anything i can to fix this right now im just going to let it sit there for a while maybe to cool down any advice is apreciated

A warm battery is normal.  A "very hot" one isn't.  Make an appointment with a genius at an Apple Store and take it in.

  • Why restore of my new mini ipad is not completed after 7 days?

Why my new mini ipad is still in a restore mode after 7 days? What should i do?

    Hello Yves,
If the restore is taking a long time, then I would start the process over. Check out the article below for more information.

  • My iPad mini is dead and won't charge!!!!

My iPad mini was nearly dead, so I plugged it in. However, it didn't say it was charging. And now it's completely dead. I've tried using a different charger and switching wall sockets, but nothing will work. It won't turn on it just has the symbol telling me I need to plug  it in. I've had this iPad mini for over two years and I've never had a problem like this before!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

    1. Reset iPad
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
    5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

  • Is my mini really dead and what will I get back if serviced?

Hi, I was wondering if I send in my 6GB mini iPod for servicing (I think it's dead), what will Apple replace it with?
Yesterday I was listening to my iPod and then it randomly stopped. My iPod freezes a lot so I thought it wasn't anything major, but this time I couldn't reset it. The iPod won't respond when I hook it up to the computer (the computer doesn't even recognize it) or when I'm charging it through an AC adapter. Is there anything else I can do?
I bought the iPod in April and since early June it's been acting up(freezing constantly). I did not buy the warranty and I am aware about the battery/ servicing fee. Since Apple no longer manufactures mini iPods, if I do get it serviced what will they send back?
Thanks for the help in advance!

"I was wondering if I send in my 6GB mini iPod for servicing (I think it's dead), what will Apple replace it with?"
Another iPod mini. Apple has a stock of minis for just such an eventuallity.
Have you tried the trouble shooting steps listed here?
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod
"I did not buy the warranty"
The iPod comes with a 12 month warranty, and after 180 days has expired, all you pay is a handling charge.

  • IPod Mini is Dead and will not charge or respond

My daughter has a 4GB second generation iPod Mini. It has worked fine, other than a few freeze ups every now and then, for several years. Yesterday it stopped working altogether. We have tried charging overnight with the AC charger but still there is no sign of life. Her iMac does not recognize it and we cannot get it to turn on. There is no charging icon when it is plugged in. It appears to be totally dead. Prior to this the battery still had reasonable running life. She would get about 6 to 8 hours of playback time per charge.
We have tried toggling the "hold" button. Nothing seems to work. I would appreciate any ideas.

I got tied up and forgot to respond to the earlier post. The iPod Mini is back in working order. While I had tried a reset procedure before and got no where, I tried it again. Finally on the third attempt the "apple" logo appeared and all was well. Since I had not gotten any response from the Mini the first time I tried a reset, I assumed that the resetting procedure would not work. So a good lesson to this is to attempt re-setting several times if it does not work the first time.
Thanks to all that took the time to contribute.

  • Why does my mini iPad crash and Have low Memory

I have deleted unnecessary apps and cleaned up music and pics. Ad wells as games. So why are games crashing closed and other apps like Facebook closing unexpectedly.

You may have many apps open which can possibly cause this. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

  • I bought a new ipad air and completed the set up. B

Both apple and itune stores cannot connect to my new ipad air?

Maybe something in here will help.
Can't connect to the iTunes Store - Apple Support
    http://ipadinsight.com/ipad-tips-tricks/best-fixes-for-cannot-connect-to-itunes- store-errors/
I would start with Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart your iPad and then go back to the settings and sign in again.

  • Can iPad 2 and mini iPad share Apps?  And How?

Hi, Can I share the apps I bought for iPad with my new mini iPad?  And How?? (Both are in use daily.)

    Yes, no problem.
    On iPad Mini
App Store>Purchased>Download app to iPad Mini.

  • Charging problem mini Ipad

After the update to IOS 6.0.2 my mini Ipad will not charge.
The only work around is to reset the mini Ipad totally and then the charging will work again.
When I want to charge after that, the charging won't work again, so I'll have do reset again completely.
It seems to be a bug in the software, and no battery-problem or a charger problem.
    Anyone else ?

if it only charges to 90% while plugged into a wall outlet, take it to an Apple store or AASP to have it looked at.  That is unacceptable.
