Mini ipad overheating and wont turn on

so ive had a mini ipad for about 5 months now and just like about 2 hours ago i has disconeected mi ipad with a 70% charge and decided to replug it in about a hour later i went to check how much charge it had now and it wont turn on i can feel the battery is very hot and i tried hard resetting it by pressing down both buttons and no success there tried ocnneccting it to itunes and my pc wont detect it so no help in itunes now im wondering if theres anything i can to fix this right now im just going to let it sit there for a while maybe to cool down any advice is apreciated

A warm battery is normal.  A "very hot" one isn't.  Make an appointment with a genius at an Apple Store and take it in.

My ipad mini was charging and when i picked it up it was hot and tried turning it on and it will not.  What can I do

Let it cool down and try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • Ipad shutdown and wont turn back on\, Ipad shutdown and wont turn back on

    Ipad wont restart

Mine did this too, when I tried to install the update. I phoned the help desk and was told to do a "restore". I.e. connect to another computer with ITunes on it and then follow the instructions once it recognizes your IPad. Good luck

  • My ipod touch 3G overheated and wont turn on at all

So I usually park my car in the garage but the other day I had to leave it out. I left the ipod plugged inside the car forgetting to take it in. It was about 100 degrees outside and the car was parked in the sun all day and all night. The next morning I get in the car and realize i left it out and the heat. I picked it up and it was like there was heat generating from just the screen. Now every time I press on any part of the screen it makes a cracking noise.

    Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
The heat may have damaged the iPod. An appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store may be in order.

  • IPod Touch 5th Gen Overheating and Wont Turn On

I got my new iPod Touch 5th gen today from best buy. I turned it on, got it all set up, then left it charging for about 30-40 minutes. While I was looking through the features I felt it getting warmer and warmer. Eventually the touchscreen would stop responding for a minute and sometimes shut off. Now whenever I turn it on, it shows the apple logo and then shuts off completely. And when I put it on the charger, it just flashes the apple logo(I presume this is from the charger trying to turn it on, and the ipod turning itself off automatically).
I really want this to be fixed soon because I would like to use this over some long airplane trips i have.

Please help. I cant do anythin!

Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for the 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • Ipad is black and wont turn on

My ipad is black and wont turn on the only thing i get a the apple icon in the center of the screen. I tried restarting it. It is fully charged and it is upgraded. Please help

    Try a reboot first.
If a reboot doesn't work, try and force iPad into Recovery Mode (data will be lost)
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • TRIED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE ios7.1.2 TO MY IPAD. iPAD FROZE ON THE APPLE PICTURE AND WONT TURN OFF OR RESPOND AT ALL.

TRIED TO DOWNLOAD SOFTWARE ios7.1.2 TO MY IPAD. iPAD FROZE ON THE APPLE PICTURE AND WONT TURN OFF OR RESPOND AT ALL. IPAD MAY NEED MORE FREE MEMORY FOR THE NEW SOFTWARE BUT HOW DO I FREE UP MEMORY IF THE IPAD IS FROZEN. CAN THIS BE DONE ON iTUNES OR THE APPLE SITE?

Took my iPad to the Apple store today and they were able to unfreeze it with a simple forced reset. This is done by pressing the Off button at the same time as you press the button on the front and hold for about 20 seconds. The new software had successfully installed and the iPad had frozen when it was starting up again after install. Not sure why this simple process can't be part of a FAQ page on the Apple site.

  • My iPad was working perfectly fine and then it just turned off and wont turn back on. it had around 60% battery what do i do?

i need some help. my iPad was working perfectly fine about 20mins ago and then it just turned off and wont turn back on. its was at about 60% when it stoped working so i have ruled out the fact that its dead. ive tryed turning it back on but it wont please help.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up
EDIT - sorry TeeKnows. I was too slow on the draw. My apologies.

I was using my ipad 2 and got up to use the bathroom and 2 minutes later tried to use it and it was shut off and wont turn back on. What is wrong?

We really can't tell you what happened, but you can get your iPad up again, by rebooting:
Hold the power and home button simultaneously for at least 10 seconds (hold past the swipe to shut down) and when the Apple logo appears, let go of both buttons and your iPad will come back to life.

It is not "common" but not "uncommon" either. After all the iPhone is a small computer and things happen.

  • My screen turned black and wont turn on

when i was using my ipad it turned black and wont turn back on, i tried to charge it and plugged it in to my compter but wont turn on.

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • HT4972 My ipods screen is black and wont turn on unless plugged into the wall

My ipods screen is black and wont turn on unless plugged into the wall not the computer but when i plug it into the computer and put it in DFU mode it wont restore there is an error 3194 and error 1602 and nothing i do helps

    Here's what I found about error 1602:
Error 1600, 1601, 1602: Try the following steps to resolve this error:
Ensure proper USB isolation troubleshooting has been performed, and test with a known-good cable.
Follow the steps listed for Error 1604.
This error may be resolved by disabling, deactivating, or uninstalling third-party security, antivirus, and firewall software. See steps in this article for details on troubleshooting security software.
Error 1603: If you receive this error and the iOS device is not automatically placed into recovery mode, it may be necessary to do so manually. Refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore for steps on placing iPhone into forced recovery mode. Also, remove the IPSW and attempt to restore again. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect.  For steps to edit the Hosts file and allow iTunes to communicate with the update server, see iTunes: Troubleshooting iTunes Store on your computer, iPhone, iPad, or iPod—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you do not uninstall the unauthorized modification software prior to editing the hosts file, that software may automatically modify the hosts file again on restart. Also, using an older or modified .ipsw file can cause this issue. Try moving the current .ipsw file, or try restoring in a new user to ensure that iTunes downloads a new .ipsw.
Error 3194 is also seen when somebody is trying to restore jailbroken devices.
