Mini MINI player??

Ok, I use the mini player all the time. For a while, when the mini player was up, and I clicked to minimize it to microsoft toolbar, it would go to mini player in the tool bar. Like, instead of just saying "Itunes" in the tool bar, there were buttons to skip a song, go back, and play/pause.
It stopped doing that a few weeks ago, and I was wondering if anyone knows how to do that???

The minimini player idea sounds cool but I'm not sure how much use of it I'd make - just mini is enough

Final cut pro not reading camera or mini dv player

My mini dv player jammed so we went to the canon gl2 to use as our vtr and final cut pro won't read it we tried our other gl2 and final cut won't read it we also tried to see if I movie would read the cameras or the machine and I movie would'nt recognize them either. Once I movie recognized the camera but would not control it or by running the camera manually. what happens when the fire wire cord is plugged in the program won't initialize. Any ideas?

What computer do you have?
Are you connecting your camera through external firewire drives?
The inability of cameras to easily connect via firewire comes up here daily, if not hourly. (facility with the SEARCH function located in the upper right of the forum is highly encouraged.) Canon cameras seem to bring their own special problems as well. If you have an iSight G5, you may have other issues ...
Try this as a troubleshooting sequence -
- Turn everything off
- If you have an external firewire drive, disconnect it.
- With only the Canon connected to the firewire bus, turn the camera on
- Turn on the Computer
- Open up System Profiler and look for the FIREWIRE section.
- Do you see your camera listed?
If no,
- you have basic connection issues - try the firewire port reset (do a search here on the forum)
- if you have an iSight camera - disconnect it and try again.
If yes,
- Open up iMovie and try to capture a short segement.
- Did it work?
if no,
- there is something potentially wacky with your camera settings.
if yes,
- Now open up FCP, make sure your firewire communication protocol is FIREWIRE BASIC
- Try to log a short clip and capture using Batch Capture.
- Did it work?
If no,
- you likely likely need to reinstall Quicktime. Search for 'quicktime reinstall' on this forum.
If yes,
- you may need to install a second bus for your capture drive. You do not want to be capturing to the system drive.

Import audio from sony mini disc player

Does anyone know how to import audio from a sony mini disc player? I have all of the ilife software as well as final cut. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

How to record from mini disc player into garage band if possible

I have some audio recorded material on a minidisc player/recorder which i would like to put into the computer to work on-can i put it into garage band 2 ? and if not is thier a free or not free software/programme i can download in order to record in quality what i have on the minidisc recorder.Also can you suggest any programmes/software (like cubase)which i could use to work on the sounds i have put onto the apple mac.

Again, mine doesn't have a USB port, so the only way to get sound on the disk is to record it through it's line in (optical or 1/8" trs). My mini disk player is old.
I think the new ones do have a mp3 import function (and a USB port or something similar)...don't know how it works though...I think that it just records them through it's line in though...
A mini disk is like a very small cd-r that is constantly record enabled (unless you switch the tab), like a tape casette. There is an algorythm that allows the minidisk to hold as much info as it does...that's where my confusion comes in about how it imports/exports.

Importing tracks from a Mini Disc player

Does anybody know if you can import tracks from a Mini Disc player (non HD) into Garageband via my MacBook's Line In port, and then put the tracks into i-tunes as MP3 files?

does not bring up the two small purple arrows in the new track.
What "two small purple arrows" are you looking for?
I'm trying to get the playhead to go to the end of the new track by pressing
the 'end' button on my keyboard but it is just going to the end of the whole album.

Mac mini - Mini-DVI to DVI to VGA?

My Mac mini just arrived today, and I'm rather chomping at the bit to get working with it (it's my first Mac). First, some background - I'm currently at work and am attempting to hook it up to a VGA monitor. Since I wasn't planning on really using it with a VGA monitor at home, I didn't bother buying a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter - instead I was planning on using an existing DVI to VGA adapter I had from one of my previous graphic card purchases. However, once I saw that the Mac mini comes with a Mini-DVI to DVI-D adapter (was expecting DVI-I) I went out and picked up a Mini-DVI to DVI-I adapter at lunch (made by Dynex), since that would suffice both at home and work.
However, now that I'm back in the office it's not working - the monitor, a Compaq 7550 CRT, can tell that something is plugged in as I'm not getting a "no signal" error, but I don't get anything on the screen. I'm currently doing Mac Mini > Mini-DVI > DVI-D > VGA, with the VGA going into the monitor. I hear the Mac boot but nothing ever appears on screen. Is this simply a case of one too many connectors? In hindsight I probably should have just gotten the Mini-DVI to VGA cable (I didn't since I wasn't sure how much I'd bring the mini into work), but I didn't see a reason that this wouldn't work.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Reports on other sites indicate that the Dynex adapter, although looks like it is transmitting DVI-I, is actually dropping the non-analog pins in which case it won't work with a DVI to VGA adapter. Your best bet is almost certainly going to be getting a true mini-DVI to VGA adapter.

N97 mini + Ovi Player + Memory Card

Hi,
I cannot find how to transfer music with Ovi Player just inside the Memory Card "F" of the N97 mini and NOT inside the Mass Memory. How can I set the Ovi Player to do that?

Mac mini netflix player

All of the sudden I am getting "player error" (ec 2105) when trying to watch instantly on netflix. Tried the fix i found on the mac mini (prior to 2009) thread to no avail (ie library>application supports>microsoft>playready and rename 'mspr.hds'). Running Safari 5.0.2

N97 mini music player problem

i dont know whats going on but yesterday i was transfering new songs to the phone then suddenly the screen turns black and the phone dead. i took out the battery and restart again but all songs inside the phone gone and i cant transfer any songs now. its shows in the hard drive that still have 700 songs but it says no songs when i pressed on the music player? i tried restarting many times but no use. anyone know how to solve this problem?

This same problem is with my n97 mini but not with the music player since I\ve never tried using it. It happens with me when I sometimes open my images or other stuff, the screen goes black and than it restarts itself or it shuts down. Even my WLAN is not working properly ( may something wrong in the settings. Anyways did you tried to update your music playlist on phone?
I think whenever you transfer songs, you will to update the playlist.

Hi8 / Mini DV player vs. camera to convert tapes

I'm converting Hi8 tapes filmed b/t 1995 and 2005 by playing them in my Sony TRV480 camcorder. Some convert fine, others will not play -- I suspect because the tapes are dirty.
Is there a Hi8 player (like a VCR) that would be less "sensitive" to dirty tapes than a camcorder?
How about a player for mini DV tapes?
I'm doing a lot of conversions for friends/neighbors/etc. and I'd like to know if using my Mini DV camcorder is the best way to go -- or if maybe I should upgrade to more professional equipment.

You must like your neighbors to run their tapes through your camcorder !
Dirty (and old deteriorating) tapes are a problem. For Hi8 work, see if you can find an old Sony CVD-1000 tape deck. They were quite nice. No machine control with fcp but will work well enough if you couple it with a Canopus ADVC-300 digital video to analog converter.
Cameras are built for capturing with clean, fresh tapes not for running lots and lots of old 'who knows were they have been' tapes.
For DV use, the Sony DSR-11 (~$1800 at B&H) is pretty well thought of. There are other less expensive VTRs as well.

N97 mini - Music player bugs

Opening the podcast in the music player reveals several options missing, like least played, never played etc. As a frequent user of podcast, the options are used all the time. They are missing in N97 mini, however available in N97, N86, 5800.

Ipad Mini Music Player!

I just got my ipad mini. Everything works fine except the music player. When I add music files to the library, it is stuck and freezing. In the end, I still can play but it loads years to do so.
I already try to reset my Ipad mini two times but still didn't work out. How can I solve this problem?

Close the Music app on the Task Bar and re-launch.
1. Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar
2. Hold the Music app down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close app
4. Tap area above Task Bar to return to Home screen

Connecting a mini disk player/recorder?

If you got a MiniDisk Deck with optical digital output you can connect this to your PowerBook 17"'s audio input and get the best possible audio quality without the need to adjust recording volume. It´s only possible to do with the 1,67 Ghz revisions of PB17(Jan & Oct 2005) though.
The method above is digital, if you are going to record the analogue way - please make sure you set the audio output on your MiniDisc to "Line out" and not "Headphone" for best results. (many late md-models only has one audio output with double settings possible)

Mini Disc player - compatible with Mac

Hi, could someone suggest a good MD player that is compatible with Mac. I´ve heard that the Sony MZ-RH10 that can transfer data through USB doesn´t work so well. Has anybody experience with this model?
Any oppinions of buying a cheeper MD player (without the USB transfer possibility) and transfer material from the MD-player in real time to the computer. Recording the MD material as analog audio. Does someone use that technique and how does it work?
