Mini-month view stuck on January 2007.  Non-functional.

Hi there,
As the subject line indicates, my mini-month view has stopped functioning. It is stuck on Jan 07 and clicking to a month and selecting a day results in a flicker, no movement to the main calendar window and the mini-month returning to Jan 07.
Not sure what to do to fix from here. I've deleted my preferences file and rebooted iCal - no change to the problem.
Any advice is appreciated!!
Cheers,
Dan

  • Mini Month View in iCal

Can't say I like the new iCal running on Lion. One feature that I can't seem to find is the mini month view. I did away with my paper calendar for viewing full months because of the mini month calendars on my Macs.
Is that functionality gone? I've searched preferences and menus and can't find a way to turn it on.
So many things about this new iCal that I find I do not like. I sure hope updates are coming to fix it.
    CJ

Last thing about iCal which I think could be fixed, is that it would be easier to type down events and making line-breaks if one whouldn't have to hold 'Alt' in while doing it.  I make line-breaks much more often than I finish editing an event (in which case you just press enter or click outside the event you were editing).  It would be better to press 'alt' + 'enter' in order to finish editing an event, and reserve the action of just pressing 'enter' for line-breaks.  This, btw, was also this way in iCal 4.
Ok, last last thing: in the preferences of iCal one can add a default alert to all new timed events and invitations and one can specify how many minutes before one wants to be alerted.  I do not want to add a default alert to all new events/appointments, but I would like to be able to specify the default number of minutes put on all new alerts that I put on events.  It seems quite intuitive to me that the default number of minutes one can specify for every alarm added to events by defult (if that option is checked in the preferences), should be the defult number of minutes set to alarms one manually puts on events, in stead of the '15 minutes before' default that is in the system and which seems to be unchangable.
If it says '0 minutes before the start time' there, then all alerts that I manually put on events should have this value put to zero by default!

  • ICal Mini-Month View question

    A quick question.
Using iCal on Leopard...I noticed the mini-month view doesn't show any marks on it for days that have events. I seem to remember a little dot on the days, in Tiger. Or am I just spoilt looking at the month view on the iPhone, or iPod Touch?
Is there anyway of having it have little dots or halos or anything to indicate when I have an event on a certain day in the mini-month view?

  • Mini Month views

I seem to be able to only view the mini months as previous month>current month. Is there a way to show current month>next month?

    Joe,
Navigating in a calendar, and Choosing the days and times you see on the calendar should help describe how to manipulate the mini-calendar view.

  • Calendar in month view has no data until the page is swiped

For the past couple of months, when I first open Calendar and it is in month view from a previous use, none of my entries show up. The phases of the moon and birthdays are all that will show. This only affects the month view.
If I then swipe to another month then back, the information will show up again. Once I have done that, the calendar is good until the next day and it does it again.
I do not completely shut off the iPad at night, but just charge it, but put it to sleep until the next morning.
The iPad is running the most recent software updates.

    HI Raymond,
I am able to solve that issue.
My problem was that I was using two separate beans for the initial data table and the second data table which gets populated after we click on the initial datatable.
After using the same bean for these two datatables solved the issue.
Now I am able to view both the datatables on the same jsp.
Thank you very much forthe prompt reply. I really appreciate that.

  • OWA Calendar not showing month view in non-IE browsers

I've got a user who can't see the Month view on his OWA calendar. He's the only user complaining - Month view loads fine on my Exchange account across all browsers and operating systems.
I can see the Month view on his account when I log in with IE, but not with any other browser, Windows and Mac.
Any ideas? I'm at a total loss here, I've been in and deleted recurring appointments, but nothing else looks out of the ordinary. Everything else works, it just won't load the month view in non-IE browsers and he's the only one affected.
    Any clues appreciated, thank you!

    Hi,
The Microsoft OWA web interface has two versions: OWA Premium and OWA Light. OWA Premium which can achieve calendar month view is only accessible when using Microsoft’s Internet Explorer browser.
If you’re using any other browser, we can use OWA Light. In light version, the OWA feature is not rich like OWA Premium. As for Calendar view, there is only daily view in OWA light.

  • My Month view says July, but my Week and Day views say January

There appears to be a glitch in my iCal. Thanks to these discussions, I finally got it to accept 24 hour clock input (though it still displays times as 12 clock until I go in to check), but I am flummoxed by the fact that only in the Month view do I see the correct month. In Week and Day views it is always January. How can I correct the Week and Day views? By the way, I can't believe I am the only one to write about this. I searched but couldn't find any similar questions.

    racjstevens,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Try changing your default paper size in System Preferences...>Print & Fax>Printing.
Is there any reason that you are still using 10.4.1? The current system is 10.4.10.
Also check this search for other suggestions.

  • Why is "Calendar" stuck in "Month View"?

For some reason, Calendar on my iPhone refuses to get back into daily view (which is what I used in the past). Instead, it is stuck in month view or, if I turn it sideways, shows 3 days at a time. I can go even further out to year view (arrow top left) and back to month view by tapping anywhere inside the calendar. But tapping on a date within the month view just highlights that date. I can add a LIST at the bottom of the display by tapping the 3rd icon from the right, but I don't get an overview of my day (with a timeline indicating present time) as I used to. Is this a new feature? (In which case, a curse be upon you, Apple) Or a bug? (how to fix?) Or am I just too stupid (a distinct possibility…)? I've tried tapping every icon on the screen, swiping in all 4 directions, and even looking under "Settings" - but I can't find a way out. Help anyone?

Thanks for the link. I found the following relevant line there:
Change your view. Tap a year, month, or day to zoom in or out on your calendar.
That's exactly what I tried - tapping on a day, but the view didn't change (except the list at the bottom showed the newly selected day).
However, I finally figured it out: tapping the day in "month view" ONLY works if there is NO list displayed at the bottom. So once I toggled the list view off (by tapping the 3rd icon from the right, at top), I could change into the customary day view by tapping on the day. Strange! Maybe that should be explicitly stated in the page you quoted

  • Convert a Mac Pro Server from January 2007 with OS 10.4 Server to Snow Leopard 6.0 (NON SERVER)

I have a Mac Pro Server from January 2007 with OS 10.4 Server installed. I want to convert from OS 10 Server OS to just using Snow Leopard 6.0 (NON SERVER). I have two hard drives installed. What is the best way to do this?
Can I just install Snow Leopard NON-SERVER on the second drive, then switch it into the place of the original main drive?
Can I switch the drives, then install the Snow Leopard on the replacement drive?

Not sure how you configured the server, though you can install snow leopard on second HDD and select boot drive with pressing "option" key during startup.

  • All calendars disapeared, and mini calendar stuck on january 2001

My iCal (v.3.0.8) does not show my calendars in the left pane, and the mini calendar is stuk to january 2001. I can't create a new calendar, and I have no access to my events I've already created. Though, I just bought an iPhone a week ago, and when I sync it, all my calendars were transfered to it, just like if everything was ok with iCal. Does anybody have a solution for me??
    Thanks!!!

    cracoucaze,
Another thing to try is removing the "Calendar Cache" file. You will find the "Calendar Cache" file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Calendars Folder. Quit iCal, drag the Calendar Cache file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.
When did you first notice this behavior?
Is the iPhone the only device syncing with iTunes?
Can you correlate this behavior to anything that you have done recently with your operating system?
Will iCal function properly in another user account?

  • TZ of Day/Week/Month View is US/Pacific - Info Box & System TZ US/Eastern

Just noticed this - don't think its been happening for long - probably a couple of days at the worst.
When I create a New Event, the Time Zone is automatically incorrectly set to US/Pacific. I change it to Eastern (via Info Box) and it displays in the Info Box as Eastern, but the Daily/Weekly/Monthly view seems to remain at US/Pacific. (System prefs set to Eastern TZ).
In addition ALL my events display in Day/Week/Month view as US/Pacific TZ, even tho Info Box TZ (and system TZ) is US/Eastern.
For Example: Info box says event starts at 5PM goes to 9PM, Time Zone is US/Eastern. Calendar Display in Day, Week or Month shows event from 2PM to 6PM.
This has affected every one of my events.
    I am running OSX 10.4.9,build 8P135 iCal Version 2.0.5 (1069)
iCal Support for Time Zones turned On.
Date/Time System Preferences appear to be OK
System Time (measured by Menu Clock and verified by save time on a file) is OK - (Am writing this at about 2:40PM EST, Sunday 6/3/2007.

    It was US/Pacific -
I just changed it to US/Eastern and everything seems to work correctly now. I never even noticed that setting before - I guess I may have reset it by accident?
I see you're from Bristol, UK. A friend told me a few hours ago that he has to make a business trip there sometime this summer and was thinking about bringing his family (from Boston, USA). We were not too clear on English geography tho - is Bristol a decent family vacation destination?

  • ICal bug with month view

I primarily use week view on iCal, but sometimes i switch to month view for a larger perspective. Often, i use month view to check for any leftover events from the previous month in case i forgot to delete one or two.
I just found a bug concerning this. If i click on "month" today, it'll take me to the month view for june 2011, and from there i can navigate forwards or backwards. However, may 2011 seems to have a bug. If i click on < from june, it does nothing; if i click again, it takes me to april 2011. Similarly, if i click on > from april it does nothing and if i click again it takes me to june.
It doesn't end there. The june/may thing happens only when the selected day (the one shaded light grey on the month and week views and bright blue on the little month tab on the left) is after 04 june. If a day from the first week of june (i have my weeks start on sunday) is selected, the < button does take me to may, but several events which i deleted a long time ago are showing up.
Now, i have an event set for today (04 june). Since the first four days of june are in the same week as the last three of may, the month view for may shows these four days, as any normal calendar app would.
If i use the month tab to the left to navigate, i can access may 2011 by selecting any day on that month. However, iCal's behaviour depends on which day was selected previously. If the previous day was in april 2011 or earlier, iCal will show the month of may completely empty, which is great because i have no leftover appointments from may; however, the box for 04 june is also empty, which it shouldn't be. If the previous day was in june 2011, it'll show may with a repeating event on every sunday except the first, which is completely absurd, since i have deleted this event (and why isn't it showing on the first sunday in may?); the box for 04 june, however, will correctly show the event i have set for this day. If the previous day was in july 2011 or later, it'll show may with the repeating event on all sundays (including the first one) and it won't show anything on the box for 04 june.
Obviously, there is a bug with may 2011.
In case it helps, i do have a repeating event set to all sundays until the end of existence, but i have deleted all the entries from may and previously, since they have obviously already happened. Also, i had many other repeating events set to happen on different weekdays; these are to repeat themselves weekly until about halfway through june, and they started on april or may (can't remember right now). Like the sunday one, i have deleted all the entries from may because they have already taken place. Strangely (and thankfully), none of these appear when i visit may from june or later, as does the sunday event.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Or am i forever stuck with week view, which has so far proven to be bug-free?
(I did a search on Google and another on the Apple forums for this issue but could find nothing, so i decided to ask the question myself. I apologise if somebody has already asked this question and i just couldn't find it.)

    Greetings,
I have a vague recollection of someone else with this issue but haven't experienced it myself nor encountered it recently.
    Troubleshooting:
1.) First make an iCal backup: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2966.
2.) Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
    Home > Library > Caches > com.apple.ical and / or "ical"
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
    Hope that helps!

  • How can you view multi day events in month view without having to check the "all-day" box?

I have multi-day events that I would like to be able to view in the month view.  The only way that I have found to do this is to make the event a "all-day" event.  Is there another way to view these events in month view, or am I stuck?

It shows multi-day events that are "all-day" events.
But for a non "all-day" event that happens to span multiple days, it only shows the first day

  • Publishing iCal With MONTH view being the default view

    Hi
I'm using iWeb to publish a page, then editing the HTML code to include a non-scrolling frame that is my iCal calendar on it. It works ok EXCEPT that it defaults to a Week View on the web page, and that looks lame because for our purposes it should really default to a MONTH view.
Does anyone know how to make this happen????
    I'm stumped!!!
Unfortunately, I reached my bandwidth limit for this period (first time it's ever happened!) so I can't "show" you the page I'm talking about -- it's shut down until 3/16/07. Sure hope an iCal expert knows how to do this... ???
    Thank you!!!

After not receiving any replies for a couple days, I took a chance and emailed James Tseng (someone who I saw has been very active and helpful on the boards in the past) directly at [jwtseng at rocketmail dot com] ...and he totally answered this question, and also said "Feel free to post the resolution to your issue on the forums so that others might benefit. You are also
free to refer anyone else to contact me directly." So here it is -->
Thank you for your email. You are always most welcome
to contact me directly since my participation in the
forums is not welcome anymore. I think I see what you
    are talking about.
I published a calendar to use as an example... The
default URL that iCal gives is here...
    http://ical.mac.com/jwtseng/Home
And just as you mentioned, this resolves to a weekly
view by default at this URL...
    http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?u=jwtseng&n=Home.ics
But if you click on the "Month" tab to switch views,
    the URL becomes this...
    http://ical.mac.com/WebObjects/iCal.woa/wa/default?d=1&u=jwtseng&v=1&y=2007&m=2& n=Home.ics
So that's the secret, then. To get your calendar to
display with the month-view by default, just use this
fully-resolved URL as the src URL in your iframe
function instead of the short URL. That should work
    perfectly for you.
Let me know how it goes...
    James
