Mini player in menu bar

Hi
not to sure if the request has been already raised (i am sure it has as i can not be the only one)
I actually gave apple numerous times feedback on that request but it seems they are not reading it or not willing to do it. Basically my request is to have the option to show the Itunes mini player in the menu bar, so it is easily to access, it is out of the way when using other apps.
the mini player is nice but for me it is always in the way . I found a third party software called now playing but it is limited somehow
anyway hope apple thinks about it

  • How can I play a movie in iTunes mini player?  (Progress bar button broken?)

It took forever to figure out how to get iTunes to even OPEN a new window for movie playback, but once I finally found instructions (click the button with movie art to the left of the progress bar to open in new window) they only partially worked.  A new window opens, but movie playback continues in the main window.  The new window shows a freeze frame of the scene displayed at the moment I clicked the progress bar button.  The new window looks just like the mini player, and its control buttons work, but they effect the main window's movie playback not the new window/mini player where I want to watch the movie.
Is it my progress bar that's broken?  I'm all updated with iTunes version 11.1.5.  Does this version not play well with my OS X 10.6.8?
Ultimately I just want to be able to play a movie in the mini player while using other applications; surely that's possible.
[Also, on the "Operating System" dropdown menu below, I just selected OS X 10.6.8 and then the dropdown showed "No operating system selected" and the selection arrows no longer work.  Any ideas what happened?  My MacBook Old feels so janky right now.]

You need to convert the AVI file to MP4.  Here is just one of the many converters available (via Google) http://www.divx.com/en/software/divx-plus/oca/mp4-converter?gclid=CJnqnpaF37gCFc fJtAod8RUAeg

  • 11.0.5.5 mini player sync progress bar disappeared?

Just installed iTunes 11.0.5.5 and when I sync with my iPhone I no longer see a progress bar on the Mini Player.  Syncing with Outlook.  Can I make the progress bar reappear?

I'm having the same problem as you, have an HP Envy running iTunes 11.1 and every time I try to access the iTunes store I have a windows error (the same as yours) pop up, and the program closes. Im guessing our problem has to do with one of the HP products that come installed with the computer... I have tried disabling and exiting them all, but to no avail.
Good luck, let me know if you find a solution!

  • Authoring DVDs for Windows Media Player: right hand menu bar

Hi, I'm using DVD Studio Pro 4 to author a DVD. It's quite a simple one, just an option to play the whole video or to go to the chapter index, where there are 9 chapters to choose from.
I've noticed in Windows Media Player that, although the DVD works fine and the video and chapter names come up on the menu as expected, in the player's menu bar on the right you get "Untitled DVD" and then "Title" 1-10 instead of the video and chapter names. Is there any way of authoring the DVD so that this right menu bar displays meaningful names? Or is this something that needs to be done in the player?

The info that Windows Media Player uses to identify the disc is not stored on the disc. Windows Media Player accesses on on-line database to get the DVD name, exactly the same way that iTunes get CD names. If you do not have a commercial DVD then all that will ever appear is, "Untitled DVD".

  • Mac mini and 52" TV monitor -- menu bars invisible

Last summer I bought a mac mini for my Samsung 22" TV/DVI monitor. The mini immediately recognized the TV as a specific DVI monitor and all was well.
The only problem was the monitor was smaller than my iMac screen. A bigger TV was inevitable. We eventually moved, and the idea of using binoculars to watch TV held little appeal, so I bought a 52" Samsung.
I bought a DVI to HDMI cable, as this TV had no DVI input (unlike the 22" combo TV/DVI monitor) and the mini recognizes it generically as "Samsung" and chooses "1080p" for the monitor resolution. (I assume this is preferred to 1080i, even though the refresh rate is slower?).
I want to use this both as a "Front Row" interface for iTunes movies, etc, and as a conventional monitor for when I want to do computery things.
The menu bar (as well as the bottom of the dock) are invisible. They are there when I remotely display the screen, so I think they might just be hidden by the frame. Is there a viable workaround? Of the 15 or so possible resolutions, exactly one shows the menu bar, but at the expense of lower resolution and terrible color balance (oddly, if I rotate the image 180° in Display System Preferences, the color looks ok).
Also, while I am at it, what is the optimal way to export audio from the mac mini into a stereo input? Right now I am using the headphone jack, and it sounds ok, but I suspect there might be a much better way.

I've been having this same problem! My Mini plugged into my 42" HDTV (via DVI to HDMI adapter, with Overscan enabled) has the desktop overflowing the screen on all four sides. With Overscan disabled, the desktop is too small and has a black band on all four sides.
Now, I know the Nvidia GPU can scale/stretch the display for external displays, I had to do it with my Vista laptop. So, how do I do the same thing on my Mini?
I've called tech support, but I had no luck. The first guy would only say 'You can't do anything else.' and hung up when I asked for someone else. The second guy didn't even understand the issue.

  • Search Disappears from Menu (after expanding Mini Player)

Hi there I'm on Android 4.3 mobile using Spotify version 3.1.0.1113.  The Search option disappears from the main top left menu every time I use the app. I have narrowed it down to happening right after expanding the mini-player from the bottom of the screen.  I can open the app and use it normally, but once I click the new mini-player (the new version that allows swiping to change songs) to bring up the main player screen, Search will disappear from the top left menu, leaving just Browse/Activity/Radio/etc.  I can bring back Search by closing the app and reopening it.  I have tried other 3.1 versions, including Betas, and this always happens. Any ideas? Thanks

After you search for the artist, *Ctrl click* the arrow after the artist name to see all items by that artist in yoru library, then play and open the mini player.
Better yet, instead of search, simply turn on the browser (iTunes menu View -> Column browser) then select the Artist to see everything by that artist.

  • Scrubber bar gone from mini-player?

I used to like to keep just the minimized window on my desktop instead of the full window, but I'd still have access to the scrubber bar. It seems now that the mini-player doesn't have a scrubber bar anymore. Is there any setting to turn this back on?

Have you tried right-clicking inside the task bar field (in an empty space around the computer clock) - tools and enable iTunes?

  • How to enlarge Menu Bar for Mac Mini running on Hi Res displays

I'm running my Mac Mini on my Sony 32" hi def tv in 1080i mode. The picture is great, but the Menu Bar on the desktop of the Mac is so small its not readable. I"m able to increase the size of the desktop icons and their text, but can't change the size of the Menu Bar. Its okay in 780i, but I'd prefer to have it run in the higher resolution. Can this be done, and if so how?

Changing the size of the menubar is not a feature of the OS.

  • "Scripts" suddenly shows in DVD Player Menu Bar

I just noticed that a Script icon now appears in the menu bar for DVD Player. It's between the "Window" and the "Help". Also, when I pause the DVD player, it no longer shows the scene number with scroll bar, and elapesd time. I have a MacBook Pro with front row installed. Could this be a result of the any update? Seems to be on all of my computers. Don't remember this as showing before.

The DVDs in question are DVD-Rs created on a stand-alone Panasonic DVD recorder. My friend connects TiVo to the Panasonic using the RCA jacks, the show starts in TiVo and he pushes "Record" on the Panasonic. Each recorded session is an item in the menu, but they display black for me. Not on his Windows and not on my dad's G3 iBook.

  • Spry Menu Bar hides behind embedded windows media player

Hi guys. My Spry Menu Bar hides behind my embedded windows media player when I go over the menu with my mouse. Below is the code I used to embed my player. How can I make it transparent? Thank you!

To the attributes in your embed tag, add this:
    wmode="opaque"
Note that z-index is totally irrelevant to Flash. also note that the Adobe Flash Player is wildly inconsistent from browser to
browser and from OS to OS, which is one of the more valid reasons for Apple abandoning the technology's support on its touch
    devices.

  • Hi I have a mac mini with my TV as a display. MY display includes the taskbar but no menu bar, how do I see menu bar???

    HI
I have a mac mini with my TV as a display. My display includes the taskbar but no menu bar, how do I see menu bar???

Make sure you are using a 1080p capable TV.   Some TVs have pixel level video ratio adjustment.  Sometimes that can force the menubar to be visible if it is the only display connected to the machine. Sometimes you have to go to your hard drive's Applications -> System Preferences -> Displays and drag the white bar on top of the display's representation to the other display.  You can only have one primary display with menubar.
Lastly, for non-1080p capable displays, DisplayConfigX or SwitchResX offer pixel level adjustments through software.

  • Airplay icon disappeared from Yosemite menu bar. Yet appears in iTunes. How do I get it back so I can airplay from my mac-mini

This seems to have transpired since the upgrade of my Motorola ARRIS SURFboard  modem/router to the duel band 2.4G/5G model. (white) All my apple products work great via WI-fi and I'm getting 58Mbps average. I can stream audio through iTunes. The existing issue is simply no icon to mirror or stream content from my mac-mini to the Apple TV.

First, open System Preferences -> Displays, and make sure that the option "Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" is ticked. If it is ticked, untick and tick it. Note that you can also try choosing your Apple TV there next to "AirPlay Mirroring" to check that it shows up correctly.
