Mini power led flashes

Hi there
Mini will not power on. Led flashes twice / three trimes which might indicate a ram bank failure but it will not start up.
Aftyer reset PMU still no joy.
My question is " What do the flashes represent?"
Cheers for now

Sir James,
Welcome to Apple Discussions!
I can't remember off hand but it is in the manual -- at the top of this page you will see 'Manuals' - click on it and find the manual for the Mini and download it.

  • Satellite A200-AH1 - power LED flashes blue

    Hi
Ok I got a old laptop it's a Toshiba A200-AH1 it's was working ok then just stop ... the wannabe IT Tech in my home town said that it was the External Power adaptor so we bought a brand new one now all that it does is flashing ... si to be sure i'm talking about the blue light beside the picture of a power cable the one to the left of all the little pictograme of cd, battery, HD ect ect ect
The rate of flashing is steady at bout 2 blink per second more or less
    Please help me out

    Hi
From my knowledge the power LED flashes only if an error has been detected on the motherboard.
I think you should contact the Toshiba authorized service provider in order to find out what is exactly wrong with your notebook.
I think the ASP technician has more experience with Toshiba notebooks as an common wannabe IT technician.
    Good luck

  • Intel Mac mini: Power LED Brightness

    Hi,
I've discovered a quirky little 'feature' with my new Intel Mac mini. The brightness of the power LED varies with the time of day - late at night the LED is dimmer that first thing in the morning.
I've verified this by changing the clock time manually and sure enough as soon as I click save the brightness changes.
This didn't happen with my previous PowerPC mini. Anyone else noticed this with the new Intel minis?
    Thanks,
    Nina

    Thanks
I noticed it when the PowerPC and Intel minis were side by side one evening and my initial thought was that maybe it's just a duff LED. This morning it was back to full brightness and now tonight, it's dim again. So yeah, I just guessed that is was related to the time.
    Nice article btw, highly amusing

  • Router WRT54G Power led flashing!

    hi,
Somebody can help with this issue, I have a WRT54G router v.3.1 the power led is flashing and I can not access to configure the router, I tried everything, I tried using a static IP on my lan card and I can not access to doing a ping, I tried press and hold the reset buttons for 1 minute and power down for a 30 sec and nothing happended, the led still flashing. When a connect the straight UTP cable on my computer the connection icon appears blinking but I can not access to configure the router for any way.
    someone have a new suggestion?
this is a critical case to me and I appreciate all the help that you give me.
    Thanks for advance,

you will need to upgrade the firmware...
now since you are able to ping the router using a static ip....first download the latest firmware from the website (make sure that u get the .exe file) . then run the file normally....it should upgrade the firmware.

  • Power LED flashes, firmware updates good, and can still access the router

I have a wrt54G first version as there is no version number. About two months ago, the power led started dropping out and with a reset worked for a day or so, then, it became worse, every hour, and now only a couple of minutes. according to the help side of this site, the router will not be accessible, but it is. I upgraded to the 4.7.1.1 firmware, the problem continues, un plug and start it up. Any ideas? Could it be the 12 volt power supply going bad or over shooting the power?

yes, that is the level, verified at the router. the help side of this site says that if the led flashes like this that it would be corrupt an un accessible, but a restart of the router stops it, and it is accessible, moreover, the upgrade fails since that is the level at the router. just that it is happening about every 15 minutes (8/3) - could it be that comcast is sending packets of ??? to blow out routers? Thee state they don't like people using routers - that you are not supposed to use more than one computer with their broad band connection. Yes - serious, the e have said this twice in the last 6 months. Don't know what it could be, Saturday - Sunday it has not dropped out at all

  • Pxi 8360 power led flashes red

I have a PXI 8360 MXI Express board mounted in a PXI 1050 chassis. I am seeing the power LED occasionally flash red and I lose communication with the computer. The power LED will return to solid green status after a few minutes but I am not able to do much with NI DAQ to test the system since it has failed self test. The suspicion here is the power supply may be bad but how do we check that.
The system with the computer has worked well over the past several years and we are concerned about possible damage from a power fluctuation that happened here around Christmas time.

    Hi Xavier,
The red flashing light is on the PXI 8360. I have not seen any flashing lights on the chassis.
The modules present in the system are
    PXI 8360  MXI Express
    PXI 4071  7 1/2 digit flex DMM
PXI 4110  Programmable DC power supply
    PXI 4110
    PXI 4110
    PXI 8252  1394 Host Adapter
    TB 2627  multiplexer terminal block
PXI 6289  M series multifunction DAQ
    SCXI 1306
    SCXI 1303
    SCXI 1303
    SCXI 1300
So far all testing has been done with all modules installed. Another person has tried reseating all modules to see if that would fix the problem but it does not.
The system will work fine for a few hours and then the blinking LED will begin and somewhere near that time the communications fail with the computer. The light will blink for a few minutes and then will return to solid green. Once the error has occurred it seems that the only way to re establish proper operation is to shut down the whole system, PXI chassis and computer, and restart. I saw one time where the power LED on the 8360 went from flashing red to solid green when the computer was turned off.
The computer is  a Dell Precision 690 with PCIe 8361.
I will be opening up the chassis hopefully in the next day or two to check fuses and voltages where I can.

  • PXI Chassis Power LED Flashing Red: What to do?

My NI PXI-1042 keeps blinking red the Power LED. I know it means the voltage is out of the specs. What to do?

    FilipeTaveiros wrote:
But it is not continuously red.. It is blinking red.. Thanks for your help. Anyone?
This is copied right out of the manual:
The chassis power switch has an integrated LED. This LED indicates one
    of three different conditions:
    • If the power switch LED is steady green (not flashing), the chassis is
    powered on and operating normally.
    • If the power switch LED is flashing green, the air-intake temperature
has exceeded the chassis operating range.
    • If the power switch LED is flashing red, the power supply outputs are
    not within voltage regulation requirements.
You either have a power supply problem, or you are loading it down with too many modules.  Try running it empty and see what the light does.

  • New cFP-SG-140 Power LED Flashing

I have installed a new cFP-SG-140 in a BP-4 backplane slot 3. On Initial power up all modules powered up except the SG-140. It's power led is flashing and is not recognized in max when I read the configuration in. Anyone know if  this could be firmware or hardware related?

Does this happen every time you plug in this module?  Yes
Has this module ever worked?  No it is new out of the box
What happens if this is the only module in the backplane?  With the cFP SG 140 being the only module in the backplane the power light continues to flash but the ready light does not
Will the power light be steady?  Not sure what you mean
Please try the module in a different slot, with no other modules in the backplane.  I tried the module in slot 1 with the same result
Does the power light blink if you hot swap the module? Yes

  • SRP527W Power LED Flashing

    Hello,
I have a SRP527W what has a constantly flashing power LED.
Is there anything that I can do to attempt to recover this router?
Something like a TFTP F/W Restore?

Have you tried a factory reset?  Hold the reset button in for more than 10 seconds.

  • WAP312 - Power LED Flashing / Nothing else on

    Hello,
my WAP312 just lost the WLAN signal and is not accessable over LAN. It is only flashing its Power LED, nothing else. I already tried a reset (30 sec holding of the reset button). Do you guys know a solution for that, or is this a repair case for cisco?
    Best Regards
    Markus

    Hello,
I'm sorry you are having issues with your device.
If just the Power light is flashing it is not a good sign but there are still a few things you can do to see if it is broken and needs to be replaced or if it just lost its configuration.
From the quick start up guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/csbap/wap121/quick_start/guide/WAP_121_321_QSG.pdf
Flashing power light means it is booting up or it is performing a firmware upgrade, in any case it shouldn't take more than a few minutes to go back to solid.
This is what i would recommend for you to do:
1- Check that you are using the right power source. Are you suing a PoE switch? What kind? What about a power adapter? Do you have one? Did it come with the unit? Do you have a spare 12V 1AM power adapter that you can use to see if the issue is the adapter?
2- Assuming you do have a power adapter, connect the WAP directly to your PC, make sure it is powered on and hold the rest button for 35 seconds so the device will reset.
3- On your PC, configure a static IP address on the ethernet adapter and assigned 192.168.1.100 to it with subnet 255.255.255.0
4- Try to access the web GUI of the WAP going to http://192.168.1.245
If you are successful then the device is OK and you just need to reconfigure it, if it doesn't work then I would recommend to contact the Small Business Support center at 866-606-1866 and create a case.
Please let us know if you have any more questions.

  • Power led flash when i try to start up my Mac Pro.

I have a Mac Pro (Early 2008). I have now got a problem. I can't start it up.
When i start it by pressing the Power switch the fans inside start to sound and the powerled beside the power swich starts flashing.
After that nothing more happens ( i have waitind for several hours), I have to stop the Mac by pressing the Power switch.
    It looks like the Ram is OK becouse the lams on the Ram boards lights up abd then turns of agian (no indication of error);
i have changed to backup battery and reset the PARAM and SMC with no effect. i have also removed all extra Harddisks and also
the Graphic card to see if ther was any problems with these.
So i guess the the flasing Power led is an indication somthing is wrong but i can't find an expanation when i search the net.

So i guess the the flasing Power led is an indication somthing is wrong but i can't find an expanation when i search the net.
    Yes it is.
If it is single flashes something is wrong with your ram.  A red diagnostic led may be lit on the riser that failed.
If the flashes are in groups of 3 a bad dimm slot (or slots) were detected and there should be lit diagnostic leds next (or near) to the dimms that failed.
Try reseating your dimm no matter how it is blinking.  But look inside for lit diagnostic leds anyhow.
Also blow all the dust out of your machine while you are in there.

  • Power LED Flashes on During Startup then turns off (system keeps running)

The system itself works great aside from a few issues with MSI Live and Dual Core Center.
It's a K9N2G Neo Motherboard and I have tried connecting the Power LED to JFP1 (MSG LED pins) Like MSI told me and
I currently have the PLED connected to the JFP2 (Power LED pins 1 & 5) the way it should be connected.
Could it be a faulty case LED, an issue with the motherboard, a BIOS setting?  I don't know.
I would not be so concerned if it wasn't for the fact that the current MSI Live Update only lists options for VGA BIOS, VGA Drivers and Utilities (nothing for the motherboard.)  And that the Dual Core Center only lets me View/Adjust the Graphic Card.
I keep thinking that it could be the Motherboard BIOS (I'm on the newest version available) mostly because the BIOS is missing the tRAS option for setting the Memory Timing.  When I look in the Manual (which I downloaded from MSI as a PDF) it shows 6 settings for Memory Timing TRC, TRRD, TRCD, CAS(TCL), TRP and TRAS. The current BIOS only has 5 Settings (as confirmed by an Image that MSI Tech support showed me.) The one that is missing is TRAS which is required for setting Memory Timings and is probably the most important setting.  Anyway, since the PLED flashes on, I really don't think it's a faulty case LED.  Also, since the system boots and runs very stable (More than 48Hrs of uptime while running constant Burn In Tests and no Heat or stability Issues (Video Card hit 45C, CPU hit 36C)) I don't think it's a Hardware Issue.
If anyone can help me track this down, I'd like to know what the problem is.

Suggest you use neither Live Update or Dual CoreCenter.
A USB flash like you noticed is far better for BIOS.
Installing drivers you should do manually. And there aren't many to choose from:

  • WRT54GX4 - flashing power led

Hi Guys this my frist time to posting here in linksys forum, i have router WRT54GX4 when i try to upgrade firmware through the wireless connection by the browse the administration web make disconnect after that the power led is flashing i try to reset by reset hole but same thing the power led flashing i try to connect through the wire the same i can't get the IP, and i try to assign static IP to my PC same thing is there any hope i can reslove this problem
    Thanks

Firmware should only be done wired to the router. You might permanently damage the router when upgrading it wirelessly.
Try setting a static ip on your LAN settings and see if you could still ping the router. You might also need to force your LAN to work 10mbps half-duplex.
Press the reset button also for atleast 30secs while the power is ON if still not working.
If all else fails then get a new router or have your router replaced (if still under warranty).
