Mini shows connect to outlet icon, cant get it to do anything
updated ipod mini software, it asked me to connect it to power outlet, i did so. now it shows an icon (ipod charger connected to outlet) cant get it recognized by pc, the computer doesnt see it. when i turn on the ipod it shows the apple icon and then connect to outlet icon. when i conncet it to pc, shows the same. when connect it to charger, shows the same.

What do you mean by connect to itunes icon? It's in recovery mode, right?
Try forcing to turn off:
Press the home button and power button together. This forces a power off.
Try DFU mode
Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.
Turn off the device.
Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.
Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.

Make sure you have the latest version of itunes
That may be a bug in your version and Apple has probably released a fix for it.

After a trip to the Apple Store with this problem, I found out that USB connections have different levels of power. Try changing USB ports, then look for iTunes to recognize the iPad is connected. Good luck!

my wifi is showing connected but i am not getting internet access.
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app
• Tap on Wi-Fi
• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Try to Reset your device.
Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears (ignore the Slide to Power Off option that shows up first). -

WRT54G ver 2 - Shows Im connected to wireless but cant get on internet
I just moved into a new apartment and am having trouble getting my wireless router to work. I just got my cable internet set up and can get on with the modem fine but cant get the wireless to work so my roommate can get online. I think i was able to get online when i had the modem connected to the router with a ethernet cord going from router to computer but cant even get that now. I tried some of the FAQ guides like "setting up a router with cable internet' and 'seting up wirless settings on a linksys router" and cloning my MAC and downloading new firmwear for the router but still no luck.
Everything worked fine a couple days ago at my old house. When i search for wirless networks on my mac I see my linksys and it has full connection. When i go to it it shows green lights for ethernet,network settings and ISP but internet and Server are red. I would really like to get wireless internet up so me and my roommate dont have to share the modem tonight so any help would be greatly appreciated.Bypass the router and connect the computer directly to the modem. Make sure that you can access the Internet through the modem.
Connect the modem to the Internet port and the same computer to Ethernet port 1 on the router.
Check the lights on the router. You will see Power, Port 1, Wireless and Internet lights on the router.
Turn OFF the Airport on your computer.
Press and hold the reset button on your router for 30 seconds. Release the reset button and wait for 30 seconds. Power cycle the router and restart your computer.
Open the internet browser and in the address bar type http://192.168.1.1 and log in to the router setup page.
Go to MAC address clone sub tab. Enable the MAC address clone and click on Clone my PC's MAC. Save the settings.
Unplug the power to the router and modem. First plug in the power to the modem. Wait for 1 minute and then plug in the power to the router. Wait for a minute and then try to access the Internet on your computer.
If you are still not able to access the Internet then open the setup page of the router again and check the Internet IP address on the status page.
If you are not getting Internet IP address then router and modem are not communicating with each other. -
just upgraded my iPhone 5 to 7.0.4, can't get it to do anything but show a power cord, up arrow, and an apple logo. I've powered it down a couple of times and still get the same image when powering back up. It is locked to that screen. What can I do?
Hook the phone to your computer and restore the phone using iTunes. Your phone is in recovery mode.

Is it fully charged? What version of iTunes do you have on your laptop? At this stage, it would be best to update your iTunes, even if you have it, to version 10.5.

Hi, i went to sync and back up my iphone 3GS as i ahve done many times before, it encountered an OS problem and put the phone into a restore mode. Now i havnt had this happen before, it has the USB cord with itunes logo on screen, cant get the phone to do anything else. When i plug it in it says i have to restore.. But will i then as i suspect loose my 600 new work photos, data, games progress, work notes, new contacts etc as i suspect i will? please someone tell me no and there is something i can do to avoid this.
The data is already gone. You have no choice but to restore.

Use the settings app to erase all content and settings. Then set up your iPad again as new.

iPads are devices and not PCs, so it needs a functioning relationship with a PC to work.
Download iTunes onto your PC, then connect your iPad to that PC. That should get you started. -
I was watching a video on the internet when my ipad screen suddenly went black. its not responding but still connects to the computer fine. I tried to restore it and it hasnt helped. it says its restored but the screen still wont function. Is it broke for good?
Is it possible that your battery has died? or that it's gotten too hot?
It is possible that the screen has died, or it could just be a glitch (my screen stopped responding once, eventually all I needed to do was give it a reset)
Since your device responds it means its guts are still good.
Is it still under warranty? If so and if the screen has failed it could qualify for a replacement.
