I have a 1st generation ipod mini and the battery has always been crap only lasting around 4 hours.
I was wondering whether the new software would make my battery last longer and if so when downloading the updater whether you can just download the mini software rather than all of it
if someone could help me out id apreciate it

If I were you I would update both iTunes and iPod Updater. If you want, you can try to reset your iPod and see if it helps the battery. Press and hold the MENU and CENTER buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release. You want to do this while your iPod is connected to the computer.

Yes it could be. You should perhaps restore it using the updater from the link I gave you.
Install this to your computer, restart the computer, run the Updater, then connect your iPod when prompted (not before), then choose restore.
This will return the iPod to factory settings, erase the hard drive, reload the software and ensure the iPod is Windows formatted.
Then you should be good to go.

The iPhone 5 requires iTunes 10.7 or later and iTunes 10.7 requires OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8). If your profile is correct it looks like you need to update your OS X on you Mac. You can contact Apple and purchase the software from them.

Just upgraded my iPad Mini software and now it is stuck in a reboot and won't come on. Please help!

I just noticed that a software update was available. I think it was iOS7. Did not really take note of what it was. But now my iPad Mini won't come on. it is stuck in a reboot and has been that way for at least an hour. Just tried to attach a picture of the screen without success.
If it was a phone, I'd have taken out the battery and just reinserted it but I can't do that with the iPad.
What can I do??? Please help!!!

Much better to update your iPad's software while it's connected to a wall outlet via the cable and adapter that came with it. Do not update on battery power alone.

Malfunction after mini software update

Hello. When I plugged in my mini to sync it today, the mini's software was updated. I followed the instructions afterwards to reconnect it to the electrical source. Then I plugged it back into my computer to sync it. The computer recognized "new hardware installed", but ITunes did not open on its own, the mini is not showing up on my ITunes as a mounted device, and the device is displaying the Do Not Disconnect signal. Obviously, if is not being recognized I cannot eject it to do the multiple "R's". Please advice. Thank you.

Does Windows show it as a mounted drive or is it just iTunes? You might want to look at Knowledge Base Document #61685 about The "Do Not Disconnect" Message and Knowledge Base Document #93492 explains How to Safely Disconnect the iPod for more information about the Disconnect message. 2003 Mac Mini Software question..

I have a 2003 mac mini and I am confused about the software..I am up to date as far as I know with 10.6.8, but is there an OS I should download/order since I can't get the new mountain lion? (it says that it isn't compat. with my mini)
Basically, I'm not sure if I really am up to date. Also, is there really no possible way for me to run the new mountain lion?

N97 mini software issues

It has been a week since I purchased a new N97 mini and I had to restart it almost 20 times since then.
Here are the issues I see with this phone, Iam not sure if it is software/hardware/memory issue:
1. After downloading music from nokia music store, music player doesnot respond to the refresh music library and if you persistent in forcing it to refresh, phone freezes and you will have to literally take the battery out. The issue when I looked at a little more in this case is, whenever music files are stored in anyother directory then Music in the Mass memory, software has issues in refreshing library.
2. To come around the above issue I downloaded music to my PC and stored in Music directory in Mass memory, now there is second issue that came up.....This time it refreshes fine, but when switching between two albums in the library phone freezes again, and being persistent again in this case will make the phone freeze to the worst possible extent where in you will not be able to receive any phone calls and you will have to remove the battery and restart it.
3. To come around the above two, I started playing music from file manager by opening the file, and bingo there is a problem here as well, file manager freezes to death....
I didnot approach Nokia service yet, and am exploring if there is a solution to the above mentioned issues.....
In case you have faced similar issues and found a solution, plz help me, so that I dont have to take my brand new phone to the service centre.....

Hi, firstly I only ever drag and dop mp3 music onto my hard drive and usually fine, did have a refresh problem after update recently and did this (may help you) also if you;ve downloaded a lot of data lately, try cearing privacy data on phones web browser , you may have used a lot of RAM which could cause phone to slow down or freeze.

How to get rid of MacBooster mini software?

hate it when this crappy mac software sneaks in... I wasn't paying attention when I installed VLC on a reformatted HD and got it from mac.software (top link in google and it looked just like the Videolan site)... thought everything was fine and then noticed strange behaviour ... did a bot of checking and found out this Macbooster app was piggy-backed with the VLC download! Why the **** this happens beats me, especially as I just can't seem to track it down anywhere ... Spotlight can't find it, going through all the preference folders can't find it... I know it's there as it pops up on Activity Monitor from time to time (see pic).
Any software that "cons" its way onto a mac is suspect and is not to be trusted IMO - any idea how to get rid of it... or even actually find where it's hiding?

IPod Mini Software broke my computer??

I received a 16GB Ipod mini for X-mas. Because I am afraid of all thing electronic, I haven't tried to use it until tonight. I put the CD in the drive and downloaded all the software and formated the iPod itself (yeah me!). Got all the way through the installation process and was prompted to reboot. I did...
Now I get this blue screen (not the blue screen of death; I'm painfully familiar with that one!) that tells me all sorts of error codes. I try to reboot in safemode and even that takes me back to this blue screen.
I can't even wipe out the hard drive and start over as Dell didn't see fit to send me a copy of the OS disc!
My question is, can anyone help me fix this problem? I practically live on my computer (using my fiance's BTW) and I'm going crazy quickly.

Ipod mini software update!

Is there a way to uninstall the recent software update of the ipod mini as i am having problems with adding songs to ipod that i was not having before the update. re-setting ipod via the updater doesn't do the trick!

You can't reset the iPod via the updater, you can only restore or update the software.
In order to revert to an older version of the software, you would have to find an older updater (on your computer or the installation disk perhaps?) and use that.

Can't restore ipod mini software

there's a folder and exclamation point on the screen of my mini so i tried to restore the software. but everytime i plug in the ipod, the updater starts to restore, but freezes within the first half of it. please help, im getting very frustrated. thanx

If the iPod is recognized by the computer whilst in disk mode, you can try changing the drive letter by going to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Disk Manager with the iPod attached and right clicking on your iPod and choosing Reassign. Make it a much higher letter, like I:
Note this can happen when your boot drive is not C:, or when you have a network drive that conflicts with the iPod assignment, or when you have other portable storage devices that are sometimes attached. It's always safe to move the iPod well away from the lower drive letters.
Do also try other ports, preferrably those on the rear.

IPod mini software issue?

When I let pause a playlist and it goes into sleep, the only way I can resume the playlist without it going back to song number 1 is waking it up by attaching the iTrip. The other problem I am having is when I use the click wheel to go to another menu, I cannot go back to the main menu. Even when I let it go to sleep it won't return. I have to do a reset on it.
While playing songs on the play list, the backlight will switch on and the screen shows that it has returned to the main menu, at this point I cannot pause any music, nor can I increase the volume etc.
I have downloaded the lastest version of software for my iPod, but that didn't seem to rectify the problem.
This issue is relatively new, I have had my iPod mini since Jan 2005, and have noticed this happening for the past 2 months or so.
Any help would be appreciated as I use my iPod all the time and am getting quite frustrated with it.

If you've restored the iPod and it hasn't cured the issue, then I would suggest you take advantage of your 'about to expire' warranty, and send it for service.

N97 mini software stuck at v11.0.105

Just installed the nokia suite v3.4.40 and plug in my n97 mini to check for update. It's showing that my v11.0.105 is latest and up-to-date software.
I don't understand why, the latest software should be v30. xxxxx
Please help me. I want update!

Have you checked thru' the Phone whether any update is available ? Sometimes these are ONLY released thru' FOTA for specific Product Codes ...(Menu-->Applications-->Software Updates...).
If still no luck, ask your local Nokia Care whether they can be of any help ...

Cannot load ipod mini software and use i pod

HELP I have a sony vai0 older computer. I am giving it to my sister. It has a wireless card that uses the same port as the Hi speed 2.0 card. I do not have the original cd to load the ipod software. I have to take out the wireless card to use the 2.0 network card that is required for transfer. What am I to do. I cannot find the link to download the software necessary to load the Ipod. I have however loaded the latest version of I tunes

It's not the software... millions of users have installed the same software on their iPod mini before you.
I'm not sure what the "5 steps" are, so if you did not try a Reset

you should try that first. If you get back to being stuck at the Apple logo...
One possibility is data corruption on the iPod's tiny hard drive. Everything was still working OK as long as the old iPod software files on the iPod's hard drive stayed "as is." When the update tried to replace the old iPod software files, the existing data corruption made it unsuccessful. Now, the iPod cannot run its software.
You should try a Restore on the iPod. This will erase the iPod, re-install the latest software, and set it to default settings. Erasing will remove any data corruption, if that is the cause of the problem.
Restore is done in iTunes from the iPod's Summary screen. If the current problem does not allow the iPod to appear in iTunes, put it into Disk Mode first

If it goes into Disk Mode, connect it the computer and run iTunes. Hopefully, iTunes will see it and allow you to try a Restore.
