Mini transfer to new ipod music/tv etc.

If I buy the new ipod (for music, tv etc) will it be difficult to transfer music from my mini to the new one? I love my mini and don't want to mess it up. Have they named this new model such as they did the "suffle", "mini" ? Nancy

If you buy the new ipod, you wouldnt transfer music from the mini to the new ipod. you would just transfer music from your computer to the ipod through itunes as you would any other ipod. so no, it will be easy to put music on a new ipod, it just wouldnt be through the mini. they havent named this new model with a suffix, as this new ipod is just that, the new ipod. the mini, shuffle, and nano are simply variations of a theme so to speak.

  • I have an ipod mini - WANT AN NEW IPOD! Will Apple trade??:D

If i send back my ipod mini, do you think i'll get discount off of a new ipod? I've heard people talking about it, but i'm not sure if it is true. PLease help
    Thx,
    Ash

I'm not sure how that would affect the listings, but I still believe it should be worth more than the price of 10% off a new ipod. I am, assuming, however, that your ipod is still in good working condition. I, for one, am in the market for a ipod mini. With that said, I recommend you hold on to your mini.
The 10% discount is really intended for people with 1G or 2G (maybe 3G) ipods whose battery life went down and would like to upgrade. A Ipod mini, as I said before, still has lots of interest.
Before you go get a ipod video, I recommend you see one in person if you haven't already. I hear complaints that the screen is simply too small, (engadget said this), and there isn't that much content right now. Note that itunes won't convert your dvds to be ipod friendly (copyright issues) but there are ways of doing this if you search around. Perhaps the best thing to do is wait for two things:
    1) more content becomes available
    2) for apple to come out with a new ipod video (which will probably be next month, knowing them)
If you must get the 10%, just visit the apple store with your old ipod, and someone should help you.
    I hope this helps.

  • IPod music, movies etc. does not show in iTunes

I'm connecting my iPod to my Macbook Pro with Mac OS X Tiger. It is formatted for Windows because I use my iPod with both PC's and Macs. I've conected it many times before with no problems. Now when I connect it to the computer, the Summary page comes up. It says that capacity is n/a and I can't view any of the other pages (music, videos, etc.). The iPod still plays music fine. Any suggestions?

:-) the problem is solved. Thanks to a great typ in one of the other discussions with alt+cmd+S iTunes looks again like something I recognize. After removing the iPod from iMac and also from the connecting "holder", turning it on ad off, rebooting the iMac, maggic happens and the iPod now shows in iTunes and everything works just fine.

  • Can I update older Mac Mini to support new IPOD Nano?

I have a non-Intel based Mac Mini running Mac OS 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.6.3.  Purchased a new IPOD Nano for Christmas and now find that I need to install iTunes 10.7 to use the new IPOD.  Is there a way I can upgrade my Mac OS so I can get iTunes 10.7 or change the IPOD to work with iTunes 10.6.3?
Seems my options may be to 1) return the IPOD Nano or 2) buy a new Mac to support the new IPOD.
    Appreciate any tips!
    Thanks!

I'm not aware of a workaround for your current system. You can still buy 6th generation iPod Nano's on Amazon.com, and other vendors may still have them too. They require OS X 10.5.8 to sync. Of course, it may be a good excuse to upgrade your system too

  • How do I transfer new ipod music to library?

So I bought music at my work computer. I want to transfer it and save it onto my home comupter's itune library. But I don't want to sync my entire itune library to my ipod. What do I do? Anyone?

If you have your ipod set to manually manage music, then you can just drag it off the ipod. You can also enable the ipod for disk use and it will be just like a USB.
    Hope this helps.

  • Is there a way to transfer my iphone/ipod music to my itunes music library?

my 1st generation iphone was synced with my laptop. then my hard drive crashed. so now i have a new hard drive. in order to sync my iphone with this one, it says it will erase all my music. what can i do? i heard about the software senuti, but i cannot get it to work, and i am worried that if it unlocks my iphone, it may render it useless, or something worse. what can i do? can anybody help? apple tells me i cannot transfer the songs from my iphone/ipod into my itunes music library because some of them were not purchased from itunes. i understand business. it's about money and copyright rights, etc...yada, yada, yada. i just hate to lose my songs (625 of them). i have no backup for the songs. i learned a lesson. BACKUP your stuff!

iTunes includes an option to transfer content that was purchased from the iTunes Store from an iPod or iPhone, but this is for content that was purchased from the iTunes Store ONLY.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.
Any content not purchased from the iTunes Store will be lost, which is why maintaining a backup of your iTunes library along with all other important data stored on an external drive used for backup purposes only is so important. The iPhone is not designed nor intended to be a backup device.
If your iTunes content that was not purchased from the iTunes Store was imported into your iTunes library from music CDs, dust them off and start importing them back into your iTunes library.
Using a 3rd party utility or application that provides for this but is not supported by Apple is your only other option.

  • Unable to transfer Songs to Ipod or Flashdrive etc

I have about 66gb of mp3s on an external firewire drive,
and have recently purchased an ipod, however, about five percent of my mp3s won't transfer over to my ipod despite playing fine in itunes and quicktime.
When I try to copy them onto either my ipod or (my old usb flashdrive mp3 player) my computer freezes. This has been a problem for a while now and has become really frustrating since purchasing the ipod (30gb video).
There seems to be no way to predict which songs will be a problem as some songs on the same album are fine while others are not.
Any suggestions would be appreciated (other than the usual "get a newer computer").

A few extra details. The mp3s have been ripped from cd and are not in mp2. The problem is not playing them on the ipod but transfering them. This doesn't seem to be a problem transfering them between computers with firewire but when transfering from HD to a usb device like the ipod or a usb drive (whether it is an mp3 player or just a usb flash drive with only storage capacities).

  • Can't get all purchased songs and videos to transfer to new ipod

I just had to trade in my year-old 80 GB Video ipod for a 'new' one due to battery failure. Erg. After syncing (sp?) my itunes library to the new device I noticed that not everything transferred and it still won't transfer when I try to do it individually. For example I have all 3 seasons of Lost and random episodes did not get transferred to the ipod. When I tried to transfer the missing tracks from my itunes library to the ipod IT WON'T LET ME!!! help.

AHA! I went into my ipod settings in my itunes account and just had to change the setting to 'transfer all episodes'. Duh. For some reason the default was set to 'all unwatched tv shows' which is weird b/c they've all been watched. A LOT! But hooray! It's fixed now
