Mini will not recognize MacAlly icekey keyboard

My mac power pc mini will not recognize this keyboard for some reason.
-it is not usb port as I tried it on all ports on my powered usb hub and also plugged directly into usb on computer
-keyboard works because I tried it on my pc at work and it works
-it is not showing up under system profile on the mini, although all other hardware is showing up
-the green light on the keyboard is on, it just will not type and the mouse that I plug into the keyboard does not work (mouse works when plugged into hub)
-I reset PRAM (4 chimes) to no avail
-I intalled latest driver for that keyboard to no avail
-I uninstalled USB Overdrive to no avail
-I am now using a PC keyboard and it works fine (I tried 2 different pc keybaords and they both work)
-I updated to 10.4.11 to no avail
-MacAlly tech support does not know what problem is
Can anyone help?

Actually the cable is fine, I just connected to a PC and the pictures downloaded perfectly and automatically….so something is going on with my Macs
Thanks….but I need more ideas
Mike

  • ITunes on Mac Mini will not recognize 5s

I dont know what the issuse is. I have tried to sync over wireless and also plugged in and no luck. My iTunes will not recognize my iPhone 5s. It sees my ipad just fine but not my phone.
Both the iOS, Mini OS and iTunes are the latest versions.
Once in a while the phone when plugged in asks if the computer is

    Hello,
Whew, not much to go on, but...
Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when trying to attach it.

  • Disc in drive that Mini will not recognize, will not eject. Is there any way to force eject?  The computer says it's empty, but it's not.

I have a disc in the super drive but cannot eject it because the Mini does not recognize that it's there. I've tried the eject button on top of the screen and in the dvd player controls. I wish there was an eject button on the machine. Is there any way to force eject?
    Thanks.

    RGA,
Unfortunately, I do not believe that it is possible for a DAQ board to generate an AI Start Trigger from an analog trigger, but not be triggered itself until it receives a digital trigger.

  • New Mac Mini will not recognize bluetooth keyboard

I just bought a new mac mini, and the apple keyboard.  I can see the welcome "Use english" screen, and I press ENTER on the keyboard but nothing happens!  I know the keyboard is not the problem becuase I tested it on my iPad and it worked.  I've un-paired it with my iPad and tried again and nothing happens.  The trackpad pointer is visible but it does not recognize a CLICK.....WHAT CAN I DO ????   (I don't have a wired keyboard or mouse to hook-up to it )

yeah, it works on my ipad with no problem.  I've re-booted too.  I'm thinking the only way is with a hard wired keyboard to get it booted.

  • My Mini will not recognize Audiobook CDs.

My mini is about 4 years old and will not always recognize Audiobook CDs for later transfer to iPod.
I have tried to find a way to clean the read/write head with no good results. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Phobius

Sounds like a bad drive.Different laser are used for DVDs and CDs. Thus, it appears that you have a hardware problem.
You can try connecting an external optical drive to help confirm that. If the external drive reads them then it is a hardware problem with the internal drive.

My Mac Mini has same symptom as Phobius after installing Yosemite(OS X 10.10.1).
Superdrive can read DVD, however, cannot read CD. I tried DVD/CD cleaning disk, but it didn't work.
    Any help/suggestions are appreciated.
FYI, Mine is Macmioni3,1 which has Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz and 4GB system memory.

  • Mac mini will not recognize boot key sequences from new Apple keyboard

Just in case anyone else is in the same boat as me - be forewarned. My mini died on me all of a sudden last week. My initial thought was that it was a hard drive failure. It wouldn't boot up at all. I was just stuck at the grey apple, cranking gear screen.
I tried the usual stuff at first. Tried to boot from CD. Booting from an external FireWire drive. Nothing worked. Reset SMC, etc. Nothing worked.
So I brought in the machine to my local Apple store and talked to the Genius. He said I had a bad logic board, and that replacing it would cost almost as much as the computer. I contemplated the idea, but couldn't afford to pay for this.
So, instead, I just went without my mini for a couple of days - opting to use my Macbook instead. Then I decided that maybe it was the keyboard that was the issue. And yes, indeed, that was the problem. Using any other keyboard (even non-Apple keyboards) allowed me to boot from external devices, which then allowed me to identify that the issue was, in fact, a bad hard drive.
Long story short. 1) This issue needs to be remedied by Apple in some way, shape, or form. There must be others with a potential dying hard drive in the waiting with new aluminum keyboards. 2) The Genius should have known about this issue as well.

Any workarounds apart from the obvious? (I'd hate to stop using my otherwise awesome keyboard).
The new aluminium keyboard is not fully compatible with the Mac mini. It works perfectly well in general use, except that it cannot be used with modifier keys at startup for such things as booting into safe mode, to access the boot loader screen or to boot to the optical drive.
While this is a bizarre issue which it is hard to understand has not been resolved, it has been a long standing issue and well reported here. The workaround is the obvious one, to use almost any other USB-connected keyboard if the system needs to be booted with a modifier key. There's no need to stop using your aluminium keyboard if you like it - just not for situations where you need to modify the boot process.

  • My mac mini will not recognize my iphone

I can't seem to get it to recognize my iPhone.  I have tried all the steps on the support page, but nothing.  My iPhone is disabled because I changed my password and forgot it.  I need to reset the phone, but can't because my mac won't recognize it.

That's about the only options I know of. You ARE using a USB port on the Mac, and not a hub. And you don't have an antivirus, I hope. All I can suggest now is take both the iPhone and the mini to an Apple store and see if a genius can solve it.

  • Mac mini will not recognize my hdtv through hdmi to hdmi

I just bought the new mac mini, got home super excited, hooked it up to my hdtv through hdmi to hdmi and nada.
I have a Vizio, 42-inch, 50/60 hz, Plasma TV.  It was made in 2006 so there is no DVI port, it only has an RGB port other than the 2 HDMI ports.
I have tried both HDMI ports.
I tried turning everything off, unplugging everything waiting 10 seconds, reconnecting everything and turning the mac mini on first, then the tv AND vice versa.
    Nothing.
My HDMI cable was kind of old so I went out and bought a new one from Belkin.
    Nothing.
It does look like the TV is recognizing the device because it does not say "No signal", so it seems that the mac mini itself is not recognizing it.
I just bought this thing, it has not even been setup yet!
And I do not have another moniter here to hook it up to.
I tried calling Apple Care, but I called at 7:30 waited for 30 minutes for someone to tell me they were transferring me to tech support, then the phone rang for 10 minutes.  I hung up and called back and they said the office was closed!
I am a die hard mac user, but I am at my wit's end here.
I guess my next step is to take it to the genius bar?
But I wanted to see if anyone out there has any suggestions/ideas?
(I know there are other discussions out there about this, but nothing I found actually helped my situation.
    Thanks everyone.

I just got my mac mini as well and I'm having the same problem with my HDTV. Unfortunately I am not at home so I do not have the tv model on hand but it is a Panasonic from 05/06.  I am trying to connect from the HDMI on the mini to the HDMI port on the tv and when it boots up the grey start upscreen shows up on the tv and loads for alittle bit than everything goes black. Any ideas?

  • Just started up my Mac Mini out of the box, using a USB windows keyboard, it will not recognize letters so I am unable to enter serial number.  Anything I can do to get the mini mac right out of the box to recognize the windows keyboard?

Just started up my Mac Mini out of the box, using a USB windows keyboard, it will not recognize letters so I am unable to enter serial number.  Anything I can do to get the mini mac right out of the box to recognize the windows keyboard?  Do I have to buy an Apple Keyboard to get it to work right out of the box?

Is this a normal USB keyboard or is there anything specialized about it? Does this keyboard require you to install any special software to use it on a Windows box? Or is it usually a plug & play keyboard?
Normally if a Mac does not recognize a keyboard it asks you to press certain keys to identify the keyboard. What is happening on screen with this keyboard? What serial number are you referring to?

  • Itunes will not recognize ipad mini

Itunes will recognize and sync with my iphone, but will not recognize and sync with my ipad mini.

Did you just recently update iTunes? And are you using windows?
If so, try going into the control panel, add/remove programs, uninstall iTunes, apple mobile device support and apple application support. Then download and reinstall iTunes and see if that works.
If you're using a mac then it may be something else.

  • Lion will not recognize keyboard/mouse from sleep mode

I recently installed Lion onto my relatively new (1 year) iMac.  Works fine, but when left unattended and it goes into sleep mode, the computer will not recognize the keyboard or mouse and I can't do anything but reboot the whole thing.
Any suggestions?  Thought I'd try this before calling Apple Support.
    thanks

With Lion, a mouse move will not wake, only a mouse click, or keyboard (i.e. hitting the spacbar).
This does not appear to be your problem.  I would try an SMC Reset and a PRAM Reset

  • After installing osx 10.8.2 to my mac mini it will not recognize my admin account. how do i uninstall

after installing osx 10.8.2 to my mac mini it will not recognize my admin account. how do i uninstall

    If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.
*Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):<br>File > Import and Export
*Import the HTML file in Firefox:<br>Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import & Backup > Import Bookmarks from HTML
See "Import from another browser" and "Import from file":

  • My keyboard will not recognize certain letters.

My keyboard will not recognize certain letters when I hit the key, nor does it recognize ca@s lock.

If it does not appear after tapping in any of the required fields then try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank power On again in the normal way.] It is absolutely/appsolutely safe!

  • My USB ports will not recognize any devices, iPhone or external drives. Keyboard and printer work, any suggestions?

My USB ports will not recognize any devices, iPhone or external drives. Keyboard and printer work, any suggestions?

I'd start by looking in system profiler.
the blue Apple icon > About this Mac > More info...
goto the hardware section. Scroll down and click on  USB
See what happens when you have the device plugged in & not plugged in.
Move keyboard & mouse around to verify that ports work. Plug device in a port that worked with keyboar or mouse.  Keyboard usb ports are rather low power.
Perhaps device is taking too much power.  Are devices power or unpowered?  Try connecting devices to a usb hub.
