Minimum bandwidth for wae 512

Does anybody happen to know if there's a minimum bandwidth for the WAE 512 to operate efficiently?
Thanks..

No, there is no "minimum" bandwidth. The WAE-512 will attempt to optimize all traffic that it has a policy for, regardless of the size of the WAN link.

  • Minimum bandwidth for streaming movies

HI apple world ... I can't find an answer so here goes...
is there a minimum bandwidth to stream a movie from iTunes library stored in the cloud over a 3G network to my iPhone 5s running latest software ?
i Can stream movies fine from flixster app (ultra violet movies) play movies no problems on sky go app but can't stream the movies I've bought in the video app unless I'm connected to a wifi network at home?
im surely not the only person with this problem my bandwidth on "three" is good and 3G is about 23mbps but all I get is the video app goes to a black screen as though it's going to start playing the movie then just returns to the synopsis screen for the movie?

  • Minimum bandwidth for OS deployment

I have a SCCM 2012 R2 installed in my network.
I need to know, how minimum bandwith that required to perform OS deployment by SCCM 2012 R2 at one client?
    Thanks.
    Regards, Bar Waelah

    It is.
We have had cases with installations over a 2mbit wan line. It takes time but when the agent starts the installation when he/she leaves the office and won't be back for two days - it doesn't matter.
We have also done 60 machines from a single 2 disk server over a 1 gb lan. It took a few hours

  • WAVE-274-K9 and WAE-512-K9 as CM ?

    1) Can the WAVE-274-K9 device be configured as a WAAS Central Manager off-the-shelf ?
    2) Same for WAE-512-K9 device ?
    regards,
    Geert

    Geert,
For the CM functionality in WAAS 4.1.x, you need the enterprise license installed, then you can configure the CM role on the device.
274 can support around 125 WAEs
    512-1GB can support 500 WAEs
    512-2GB can support 1000 WAEs.
    Hope that helps,
    Dan

  • WRT54G Limit bandwidth and minimum bandwidth

Is there a way to limit individual computer's download speed to a specific website?
Our DSL line only downloads at 80KBps and that's spread across 5 computers. (3 wired and 2 wireless)
So my sister is on wireless. she likes to watch/stream videos. That's great. But when I try playing games online with my friends or just playing online period. I lag cause my sister is downloading vids on youtube.
So I would like to ask. Is there a way to limit the download speed to each computer to lets say 40KBps for that ONE website?
    OR
Is there a way to have minimum bandwidth for me to use so I wouldn't lag when I'm playing online games while others in the household in downloading?

but doesn't the priority only given to "WIRED" computers?
I have the same issue with my housemates, they seem to be always streaming videos, and when i tried to play online games, i always lag badly.
I am using a wireless connection, and so are they.
So is there a way to prioritize myself over them?

  • WAAS Upgrade CM path from 4.4.7 WAE-512 to 5.4 vCM

I have a deployed WAAS system running 4.4.7 and the old WAE hardware is all on the EOL clock or not supporting 5.4 at all.   The budge fairies had money at the end of the year so I've got new WAVE boxes and vCM 5.4 DVDs to deploy.
My question is what is the upgrade process for the CMs?
Can I simply spin up  two 5.4 vCMs as a secondary CMs to the 4.4.7 primary CM on a WAE-512, then make one the primary?  That would assume that a 5.4 secondary could sync to and then take over directly from a 4.4.7 primary.  That's the bit that I have doubts about.
Or would I have to start with vCMs at 4.4.7 to get them to sync, then take over as primary and upgrade them?  Is there a 4.4.7 vCM image?
If that's a dead end, I saw another discussion about downgrading a WAVE-294.   I'm thinking one could be downgraded to 4.4.7, joined as a secondary CM, promoted to primary, and then upgraded as a stepping stone to vCMs at 5.4.  Then the '294 would be deployed back as accelerator as originally intended.  Any pitfalls with this?
Or is there a simpler path that I'm missing entirely?
Also can anyone confirm that the RJ-45 console ports on the WAVE-*94 have the same pin-out as traditional Cisco switch RJ-45 console ports?
    Thanks.

    Hi Edward,
For the upgrade process, you'll have to follow this procedure :
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/app_ntwk_services/waas/waas/v541/release/note/waas541xrn.html#pgfId-171257
So either down grade your vCM to 4.4.7 (this requires that it is a vCM-100 or -2000)
    - there probably is a vCM 4.4.7 image out there somewhere, but these could be hard to get.
    - or just use the "copy ... install" on your vCM, to get it downgraded.
or use the 294 method (same methodology applies)
But as I see it, there is no need to play around wit ha secondary CM, you don't need the CM to ensure optimization, when things are up and running.
You can easily change a CM to an accellerator by configuration and a reload, unless we're taking vWAAS, where the ova image is locked.
remember to take a backup of your CMS database and place it somewhere else, before starting upgrading.

  • Minimum Requirements For FC 5.1 - Laptop iMac

    Hi Gang
My friends have an older iMac; Processor 1.9 Ghz Power PC G5 with 1 GB Ram. I'm pretty sure we can replace the two 512's with #2 Sticks of 1GB = 2GB.
They've got about 140 GB's of free space on their system drive and are using Tiger 10.4 - They can upgrade to 10.4.11, that's not the issue. Was wondering if the current video card and remaining HD space would be adequate?
*They will no doubt be using an external drive for scratch.
    Thanx for your input

  • WAAS (WAE-512/612) NIC teaming?

    Hi,
I've got a customer who wants to know if we can dual-home the WAAS appliances he purchased. Do the WAE-512 or 612's support any type of NIC teaming or active/passive on the NIC's?
Thanks for any help or clarification!
    Brad

    Brad,
WAAS supports two (2) types of physical interface redundancy:
    Standby Interface:

  • Minimum RAM for pedestrian use

I notice that iChat takes some 15 secs before it;s ready and some other things that make me feel the MacPro is a bit RAM starved.
What would be the minimum RAM for pedestrian use, WP, email, surfing, occasional Prp Tools LE?

iChat is probably checking for network connections, buddies, and other things during that time. And depends on your network hardware and settings as well as whether you like to see and be seen by others online.
These machines do need 2GB RAM or more, and some decent hard drives. The OEM drives early on were older models and not up to snuff, most go out and buy some new drives and 3rd party RAM right off the bat.
Not all Mac Pros get the type of bandwidth they should from their DSL and cable provider. Drivers, chipset have both been blamed, as well as Airport and weak wireless connections.
The minimum RAM is probably 1.5GB but that isn't an option. Also, older PPC programs run slower, at least on launching and first loading (Rosetta).
The biggest culprit is migrating PPC applications, not installing fresh, from a previous G4/G5 which will result in real problems, run like molasses, and require a fresh erase and reinstall of the OS. Migration Assistant is fine for data only.

  • WAE-512-1G Optimized TCP Connections

    Hi all,
Regarding the Sizing Capabilities of a WAE-512-1G Appliance, what is the meaning of the "Optimized TCP Connections" ?
Is this parameter related only from the initiated point ? or from both directions?
I'm asking this because, after instaling in inline configuration, a point-to-point circuit only, (2 WAE's + 1 CM), in the Branch WAE we had a Minor Alarm saying that we have reached the TFO Limitation, and on the ohter end, we haven't that alarm.
Most of the traffic(connections), should be from the Branch to the Central Site.
So, the main question is, if this parameter is related to from where the connection is initiated.
    Best Regards,
    Bruno Petrónio

The branch Cisco WAE applies a new TCP option (0x21) to the packet if the application is identified for optimization by an application classifier. The branch Cisco WAE adds its device ID and application policy support to the new TCP option field. This option is examined and understood by other Cisco WAEs in the path as the ID and policy fields of the initial Cisco WAE device. The initial ID and policy fields are not altered by another Cisco WAE. The packet is forwarded to the branch router and then to the WAN.

    Dear all,
what is a minimum/recommended Internet bandwidth for client who are using SAP client with RDP (SAP client is connecting directly via RDP session to remote SAP server).

    Hi GN.......
It is recommended to have 1 Mbps speed of Internet in order to connect SAP Client from its destination to server if you are using Terminal server or VPN.......
If you still not getting proper connectivity you may increase it to 2 Mbps........

  • WAE-512 issue

    Dear ,
I have site A and Site B.In site A I have AWe 512 is installed,at site B there is a WAE 512 and WAAS as a CM installed.
All the applications were working fine between site A and site B.All of a sudden applications are not working like RDP,Accessin file server and all not accessible at site A to site B.When I check the connectivity ,it is reachable from site A to site B.
Even telnet from site A to site B to all servers with the  port 3389 is connecting. When I check through netstat -an it shows from site A source address to site B destination address to that port 3389 is established.
When mstc to that server is hanging, and \\x.x.x.x\ to remote is not able to open.
    Please guide me to resolve.
    Regards,

    Hi Venkat,
Looking at your issue, are you sure this is WAAS issue? Can you please apply pass thru policy for this traffic and see if it works.
You can also use cli command: show stat conn | in to see if the connection is going thru WAAS and is being optimized. If it shows up as optimized, try putting a pass thru policy for this client and verify the functionality.
Further, is this issue limited to one client / one site / multiple sites? Depending on that you want to focus either on hub site or branch site or single client.
Please also provide us the software version and hardwares you are using at the affected sites.
Feel free to let us know if you think it is WAAS related.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards.
PS: if this resolves the problem, please mark this as Answered.
