  • I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen?

I am having trouble downloading an extension for flash, despite having the most up to date flash version for Adobe Manager Extension CC. What would cause this to happen? It says I need to have flash 7 or higher. I have the most update flash available according to my browsers.

If you are using Flash Pro CC 2014, please update Extension Manager CC to 7.2.1. Then please confirm whether Flash is shown in the product panel of Extension Manager CC. If not, please refer to Re: Why can't I see InDesign CC in my Extension Manager CC.

  • What Flash Player for Flex builder 3?

I am just getting started with Flex & hitting a lot of roadblocks. Getting files for Day 1 helped. When I try to "run" a project I get asked for Flash Player 9. I uninstalled Player 10, found Player 9 for developers, installed, but Flex still does not see it. If I tell Flex to use current player I get bounced to a command prompt.
So, what Flash player are you guys using & ...how?
    thanks

Probably the same one you're using at http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html.
Adobe Flash Player 9 — Debugger Versions (aka debug players or content debuggers) for Flex and Flash Developers
On occasion though I have to completely uninstall Flash player first and then install the plug-in and activeX components.

  • Adobe flash version for os x 10.5.8  which is most stable??

    thanks

Depends entirely on what Mac you have.
You can check here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/  to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3.183.23 or later, is for Intel Macs only running Tiger or Leopard, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.4.402.265 or later is for Snow Leopard onwards.
(If you are running Mavericks: After years of fighting malware and exploits facilitated through Adobe's Flash Player, the company is taking advantage of Apple's new App Sandbox feature to restrict malicious code from running outside of Safari in OS X Mavericks.)
    * Unhelpfully, if you want the last version for PPC (G4 or G5) Macs, you need to go here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html  and scroll down to 'Archived Versions/Older Archives'. Flash Player 10.1.102.64 is the one you download. More information here:  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/838/cpsid_83808.html
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/909/cpsid_90906.html
and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications (including Safari) first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.
After installing, reboot your Mac and relaunch Safari, then in Safari Preferences/Security enable ‘Allow Plugins’. If you are running 10.6.8 or later:
When you have installed the latest version of Flash, relaunch Safari and test.
If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then in System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.

    Hello,

We are thinking about migrate our radius to windows 2012R2, wich is a new version of NPS.
do you know if there is a minimum IOS version required for NPS on 2012R2 Windows ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes NPS will work with Window Server 2012R2 and for the minimum server certificate requirement

  • Detect Flash version for executable

I am currently using Captivate v2.0, and created a training
simulation for a new piece of software we are developing. When I
published the standalone executable, I selected Flash Player 7.
For those that were using Flash 6, the first screen would
appear, but they were not able to continue. It took me awhile to
figure it out, but I upgraded them to the latest version, and it
worked. I know this question was posed in an earlier posting, but
the link used was dead and I am hoping someone can answer. Is there
a way where the tutorial can detect what version of Flash is
installed, and recommend the user to upgrade to a later version?
One exception to this situation is when a user was using
Flash 9, and I was still unable to get the tutorial to work. I
rebuilt the stand-alone executable with Flash version 6, and it
worked for her. We rebooted her computer, reinstalled version 9,
and tried the tutorial with the version 7 needed, and still no
    luck. Any ideas?
    Thank you for your help.
    Chas

    Hi Chas and Larry,
I also faced this issue once and then it figured that the
standalone created by Captivate is not *standalone*. It works like
a wrapper, which in turn will call the activeX controls installed
in the browser, however, if flash player is not installed as
activeX, then the EXE generated from Captivate will install this on
the users machine (it will install the version which is selected
    while creating that EXE).
Now here comes a problem, what happens if a user has a
previous version installed - In this case the EXE is not capable
enough to upgarde the flash player.
So there are two solutions you can opt for:
    1. somehow communicate that a certain version of flash player
is a must to have. OR
    2. modify the _skin file (or the playback controls), from the
template, use actionscript to find out which version is installed,
and perform operations based on that. (this was the approach which
    I took)
    Hope this Helps!

  • Changing Flash Versions for export

Can I change the version of Flash that InDesign CS6 exports to? i.e. can I export to Flash player version 9?

Not if you are exporting .swf, the minimum player version has to be 10.0.2. Player 9 will throw an error on the preload.

  • Flash player version for Flex 3

I'm using Flex Builder 3 standalone build 3.0.190133 beta 3.
I'm in an organization where users cannot install their own
software, so cannot update Flash player, currently everyone has
9.0.16. Even if I select 9.0.16 as the required Flash player
version, my apps do not work, the base application will load, but
no components are displayed. Unless this is a bug in the build I
have, I'll need to have a new version of the Flash player pushed
out to 10k+ computers in order to use the Flex 3 compiler. Is the
current version, 9.0.115, expected to be the highest version needed
to use with the final release of Flex 3?

You will get a very ugly RSL Error if you don't have this
    plugin. See post

  • Access to earlier Flash versions for Creative Cloud Members?

I'm a member of Creative Cloud and so have access to Flash CS6. One of my existing Flash files uses the slides feature, and when I tried to open it in CS6 was given the message that that feature is no longer supported and that I need to open it in an earlier version of Flash (which the dialogue box didn't specifiy—does 5.5 and earlier support that feature?). Problem is, of course, that I no longer have an earlier version of Flash.
Is Adobe willing to make an earlier version of Flash available to Creative Cloud members? If not, what alternatives do I have short of having to buy another (outdated) version of Flash just to be able to open my file?

    Hello,
The Creative Cloud offering for Flash began with CS6 and the earlier versions of Flash (CS5.5 and earlier) will not be made available on Creative Cloud.

  • Security update Flash version for Mac OSX 10.5.8 won't install

I lost my ability to view Ustream live streaming and recorded videos on Sept. 12, 2013, in both Safari and Firefox. The screen is solid black, and if I right click I get "Movie not loaded..." I read about the Sept.10 Security Update for Flash Player, so I uninstalled version fp_10.3.183.90 and attempted to install version fp_11.7.700.242. The installation failed every time, so I returned to the older one. On Sept. 13 I downloaded Google Chrome and it worked, but today, Sept. 14, I see the message "Flash is out of date," and no video.
I have a Macmini2,1 with 1 Intel Processor and 2 Cores, made in 2007, I think. OS Leopard, 10.5.8 (64-bit). My Safari is version 5.0.6, Firefox 9.0.1 and Chrome 21.0.1180.90.
I spend a lot of time on Ustream, so this is a big setback... please help!

Firefox is on version 23.1 now (I believe it WILL run on Leopard), and Chrome is on 29 (I can't be sure of that because I've uninstalled it from EVERY LAST machine I own and will NEVER use it again).
THAT may have something to do with it. Safari 5 is the newest that will run on 10.5, and unfortunately the LATEST Flash Player WON'T run on Leopard.
The reason is that OS 10.5 was the LAST Universal Binary OS Mac released (it runs on Intel or Power PC Macs) Becaue of that, it uses a different acrhitecture and the Flash Player is different from an "Intel only" build. Websites will continue to update, requiring the latest Player, and that will lead to obsolescence of your Flash Player (and your OS). THAT'S the bad news.
The GOOD news is: Because your Mac is Intel powered, you can upgrade to Snow Leopard (OS 10.6.8) for $20 through Apple (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard), and THAT will allow you to run a LOAD of software that requires 10.6 or newer.

  • Better Flash version for iMac G4 1.25GHz?

I have an iMac G4 (1.25GHz, 1GB RAM, 64MB VRAM, 20-inch) running 10.3.9 and would like to upgrade its operating system to 10.4.11. Even though Panther is considered an ancient OS, it still meets most of my needs; however, when it comes to online video content, many, if not most, web sites require Flash 10 and that's a problem since Flash 9 is currently installed on my system.
So, aside from upgrading to Tiger, should I also upgrade Flash to version 10? Is version 10 too much for my G4's configuration? Have people found version 9 to run smoother?
    Thanks.

With a better availability of quality browsers for Tiger 10.4.11, at least a few are
still being supported (compared to Panther 10.3.9) including Camino, Opera,
and Firefox, along with newer Adobe flash and shockwave plugin players, the
web experience can be a bit better with Tiger 10.4.11.
However the strengths of Tiger OS X 10.4 are in most everything compared to 10.3.
Your computer could also run Leopard OS X 10.5, yet Tiger works very well in those.
Do upgrade to Tiger, and if you can, make the new Tiger a completely new installation
where nothing Panther remains on the computer, and 'secure erase' the hard disk drive
makes for a better fully new installation; then build the new system from scratch.
I've gone the route(s) and found a completely new full installation of Tiger with NO
Panther 10.3 system bits on the hard disk drive, and the hard drive over-written with
zeros, partition mapped APM and reformatted to HFS+ was a great start (over.)
There are PPC Adobe Flash and Shockwave player plugins, and there are some there
in the Adobe site for Intel-based Mac running later or hardware specific OS X versions.
With Tiger, note & avoid those which are for Leopard 10.5 & later, w/ Intel processor Macs.
I have the latest supported Java versions, and Adobe Flash/Shockwave versions, and
the latest supported proven stable browser versions; and no issues in three G4 Tiger
running PPC computers; with Tiger at the last stage of development; and with the last
Combo update and last Security Update installed (at initial upgrade interval.)
In other user posts where they've cited Flash issues, and computer slowness, some of
them go on to other issues and do not return to the Flash problem; finding other reason
for general computer slowness and fixing that (in Tiger or newer OS versions.) So, after
I have outlined exact PPC Flash/Shockwave items, bits and cited source links, in those
instances (in Discussions) I am loath to find and re-type them again, perhaps to no avail.
The common theme with Flash/Shockwave players in Panther 10.3.9 is the system is
not supported for several years, so it is lacking in further development. Until about two
years ago, a more recent Flash or Shockwave player update, and to get & use the last
Camino browser (Mozilla/Camino) was a partial cure to web browsing issues in Panther.
You can still get the last player versions Panther could use, then remove the existing ones
in your computer (use uninstaller each plugin has with it) and install the last players; and
    then get the last supported Camino browser for Panther 10.3 from their old version links;
and probably hobble along online a few more months, at best, as web sites are updated
to the newest technologies and Adobe does not support new Panther plugin development.
While this user post says the computer is already at Tiger 10.4.11, and he considers Leopard
10.5.8 (it is a PPC G4 can may support it) the thrust initially was concerns about using newer
Flash and Quicktime versions. +Note my posts about updating Flash + Shockwave Player:+
    • http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=13076736#13076736
Your iMac G4 1.25GHz 20" computer could probably support Leopard OS X 10.5(.8) but the
performance in some aspects of general use including graphics support may lag behind the
Tiger 10.4.11 since Leopard was built to support newer video/graphics and later technologies.
One of my G4s has Leopard, the other three have Tiger. And I prefer the older OS X 10.4.11,
even though it is older and lacks some kinds of support. It is stable and I can keep it running
for up to 180 days without a problem & without a restart; maybe even longer. (Because it can.)
So, Tiger is great version of OS X. Leopard 10.5.8 would give you more recent official support.
This means a more recent Security Update, later Java versions, newer Quicktime builds, later
browser builds, more recent Adobe Flash and Shockwave versions, and maybe a few more
years of compatibility with certain software versions; and so on.
Your computer can be upgraded to run 2048MB of RAM if both slots are upgraded to 1024MB.
The original official total was 512MB per RAM slot; so this replaced the as-shipped 256MB in
the factory installed location, if done, at least once. The iMac G4 1.25GHz Mac likes RAM a lot.
    If you or someone goes into the computer to upgrade the RAM, have the clock battery replaced;
also consider for the labor effort, to upgrade the hard disk drive to a larger capacity (PATA) unit.
Then you could partition the internal drive if needed, or have plenty of space for storage and also
for the OS X to have free space for it to run well.
There is no problem in upgrading the computer as far as it can go; unless you find excessive
costs in acquiring the necessary items to do so; unfortunately the all-in-one computers do not
have an upgrade path for main hardware items such as graphic processors or CPUs.
Beyond whatever that brings, there also are some great options at the Apple Store/Refurbished
pages online, for later hardware with newer software; with warranty & extended care available.
    Anyway, have fun...
    Good luck & happy computing!
