Minimum Lot Size Ignored

Hello All,
To replicate scenario, I have created new material with minimum lot size 10 pcs and created independent requirement (LSF) and then created scheduling agreement.
Independent requirements as 8 pc for every day.
Now when I run the MRP and check in MD04, for the last requirement, planned order was raised for just 9 pcs, ignoring minimum order qty/minimum lot size functionality.
Just for information, Lot size -EX, MRP type PD, Strategy group 10 (though these factor doesnot influence).
Any more settings/customizing required?
BR,
Krishna

Dear Krishna,
I guess you must have activated the check box for Last Lot Exact for the Lot size - EX in T.code OMI4.
If so means remove this and then check with new requirements and MRP run with planning mode - 3.

I have maintained "100" in minimum lot size ( MRP1 View, table MARC and field BSTM) for the material.
I am also succssed to create the Purchase order for 2.5 Qty for the same material. '
I wanted to know, how system is allowig to create the PO with lesser qty or is this view is maintained only for sales?
Please give your expert comments on the same.

Used for claculate the procurement qty during MRP and depends on the lot size procedure you select. quota arrangement also uses this lot size.

  • MRP Settings - Minimum Lot size / Saftey stock /Lot Size

    Hi
I am confused about some of the settings , We set M1(Monthly lot size ) and PD MRP type settings, We maintained the Minimum lot size as 2500 lb and the safety stock as 300.
I tested by changing the Parameters , I am confused.
    Please clarify me
Did MRP is going to suggest the PR once if the stock went below 300 ?
Did MRP is going to wait for the PIR to get accumulate the Minimum lot size settings ?
What will happend if the time bound is beyond a month ?
Please help me to understand the concept
    Thanks

    Hi,
Use tcode OWD1 to create rounding profile.
Select create icon for creating new rounding profile.
    Input new profile name.
In that Threshold value & Rounding value is available.
    Input your value & save.
In MRP1 view give the input of rounding profile.
Example given below for easy understanding.
    Threshold value  Rounding value
        1- 20 -
    >                20
      60- 100 -
    >              100
      900-1000 -
    >           1000
      8000-10000 -
    >     10000
If your requirement is 7, it will convert to 20.
If your requirement is 23, it will convert to 40.
If your requirement is 76, it will convert to 100.
If your requirement is 435, it will convert to 440.
If your requirement is 844, it will convert to 860.
If your requirement is 910, it will convert to 1000.
If your requirement is 8045, it will convert to 10000.
    Hope it will helps you.

  • Rounding Value,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Siz parameters

    Hello Gurus,
Please explain me the what is the use of the parameter Rounding Value
,Minimum Lot Size and Maximum Lot Size parameters in the product master and how does it in impact during the Heuristic Run?
    Thanks.

Rounding value is the incremental quantities in which the order can be produced/procured. Eg. if orders are possible with quantities 40,60, 80, 100 etc..then rounding value is 20.
Min lot size is the minimum quanity in which order can be produced eg. 40 in above example
Max lot size is the maximum quanitity in which the order can be produced/procured. eg. 100 in our example
Impact on Heuristic run: heuristics takes all the above parameter to plan supply order. eg. if requirement is 55, it will supply plan for 60. If requirement is 120, it will produce two orders - one for 100 and the other for 20. if the reuqirement is 10, the order size will be 40.
    Hope this helps.

  • Rounding value and Minimum lot size

    Hi all,
Finish material is X and Raw material is Y.
Bom- For Preparing Xu2019s 1 Qty, 1 Qty of Y is required
In Material Master of Y - Rounding value and minimum lot size is 10,
    Project needs 5Qty of X.
When MD51 for Project execute u2026 PR of Y must be of 10 as per rounding value and minimum lot size, but it is creating PR of 5 qty.
Above scenario working properly if I take MRP run with MD02 for material X for 10qty, after MRP PR of Y will be created for 10qty.
    With Regards,
    Ashish

    Dear,
By default, the lot size works as lot-for-lot quantity in the make-to-order and project scenario.
Go to OMI4 select your Lot size and define Lot Size: SOP  1 or 2Lot-for-lot with rounding. Better create new Lot size as ZX with these setting.
If you always want lots to be created for the multiple of the rounding value, you must specify a minimum a multiple of the rounding value.
Example: minimum lot size: 10 and rounding 10.
    Please try and come back.

  • Issuance (pack size) Qty and Minimum Lot Size

    Hi Experts,
I have a problem, I have to maintain Minimum Lot Size and issuance (pack size) in the material master. Suppose Minimum Lot size of one material is 2000 and Pack size vendor provides is 400.
Means, when we place order, minimum order can be made for 2000 Nos and when we issue the material to WIP from Main Store the minimum issue quantity should be 400.
How can we map in the system.
    Please help me.
    GR

    Dear,
I would like to suggest as :
Maintain the Base unit of measurement for material as PAK/CARTON/EA.
In additional data, unit of measurement mention 400pc = 1 ea/carton.
Whenever issue the material from stores, the quantity should be 1 ea (i.e 400 pcs) basing on base unit of measurement.
Now comes to minimum order quantity should be 2000 pcs.
Maintain ORDER UNIT in purchase tab of material master as PC.
To restrict the order quantity must be 2000 pcs, In that vendor master
Order optimisation restrictions u2013 quantity. This is useful while ordering the vendor.
For example if the quantity to shipped from this vendor you enter as 2000 pcs. When creating purchase order, if quantity is less than 2000 the system will give message.
Try this in quality with a full cycle of documents.

    Syed Hussain.

  • Fixed lot size and Minimum lot size

    Dear senior,
My client has the following scenario. His supplier provides the item in a fixed lot size of 100. The minimum lot size to be ordered is 300.
The supplier is a fixed vendor.
I tried to maintain this information in the Material Master MRP views. Lot size  - FX, Fixed lot size - 100, Minimum lot size - 300.
However, everytime, the minimum lot size will get reset.
Is there any way , I can maintain this scenario via configuration or any other method?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Fixed lot size - 100 means for every 100 quantity system will create one purchase document.
If you selected Lot size - FX - Fixed order quantity , then no need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields.
Then you have to maintain Fixed lot size filed only.
    Ex:
    Lot size = FX
    Fixed lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 300. Then system will create 3 PO's with quantity of 100 each.
If Lot size is Ex - Lot-for-lot order quantity, then only need to maintain Minimum lot size & Maximum lot size fields in the MRP 1 view.
    Ex: Lot size = EX
    Minimum lot size = 60
    Maximum lot size = 100
There is a requirement of 250. Then system will create 3 purchase documents, two documents with the quantity of 100 and third one with the quantity of 60.
That's why, in your case system is reseting Minimum lot size every time.
If you want to maintain Minimum lot size, then maintain
    Lot size as EX
    Minimum lot size = 100
    Max lot size = 300
    It will solve your problem.

  • Re: Coll. req with WB lot size procedure & minimum lot size

    Dear All.
I am having a material assigned to WB lot size procedure with collective requirements indicator & a minimum lot size qty.
Now still the system are creating more than one PR in one period. Please advice.
    Regards
    Vivek

    Hi All,
What is happening in thsi case is that inspite of the desirable setting for getting Collective requirements with WB LSP. The system is creating  lot of  Purchase requisitions for one day.I want that the system should add up all the PR & prompt only one.
    Please Advice.

  • Minimum Lot Size with Rounding Value

Hi I have an interesting scenario.
I just want my procurement proposals to be generated in multiples of 40000. But I have agreed to my vendor on Minimum Lot Size of 75000 qty. My aim is to generate the proposals with 80000 qty even for the demand of 25000.
But when i am carrying out the MRP run for the demand of 20000, ssytem is plan only for 75000. But when i increased the demand to 50000 or more system plans in multiples of 40000, i.e. 80000 qty.
Is there by anyways can we plan in multiples of 40000 eventhough the min lot size is 75000 and the demand is 20000?
    -solai

    Hi,
Maintain lot size as EX, Minimum lot size as 80000 and rounding value as 40000 in the MRP to get the procurement proposals in multiples of 40000.

  • Minimum Lot Size

i set some material MRP1->Minimum Lot Size value , after MRP , the Purch.Req.  isn't effect.
    Can somebody tell me why?

    Hi,
Planned Orders and Purchase Requisitions generated via MRP will be created with atleast the Minimum Lot Size Quantity.
For e.g. Material M1 has get min lot size as 100 and there is a requirement of 80 then system will generate a PR of 100 since this is the min requirement set in the material master for MRP.

  • Lot for lot(EX) with minimum lot size

    Hi Experts,
Is it possible to have Ex with minimum lot size. I have a situation where an FG cannot be produced over a certain qty but can be produced in any numbers beyond that. Please explain.
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Hi,
You can use Lot size key EX- lot for Lot order and Minimum lot size as per the requirement. If the lot size is smaller than the Minimum lot size qty procurement proposals will be created for the minimum lot size quantity.
Hope it resolve your issue. Kindly revert for further clarification.
    thanks and regards

  • Lot size EX with Minimum lot size

    Hi all,
I have a query like how will the material behave if the following settings are made
    MRP type:M0
    Lot size:EX
    Minimum lot size:100
    Rounding value:100
    Maximum lot size:300
My main question is is it right to use lot size EX along with mimium lot size value, rounding value,Maximum lot size defined.

    Hi Anshul
Ex is lot for lot order quqntity. It will put lot size exactly what is required from MRP run. During MRP run after net requirement calculation the system will look for Lot size,Rounding value and Rounding profile before making procurement proposal.
You can use EX with Rounding value
If you requirement is 180 Nos and the rounding vaule is 100 the lot size for this will be 200.
Hope this will clear your doubt.

    Hai All,
Can anyone please tell exactly from which table we can get the data "Minimum and max lot size".
Is it "MAST" or "PLKO" or "MARC"?

    Hi Kavitha,
check with the table MARC and the fileds BSTMI (Minimum lot size ) BSTMA  ( Maximum lot size )
    for more info
    Re: Table for Lot size.......
    hope it helps you.

  • EX lot size for maximum value

Hi Could someone answer this, my minimum lot size is 100 and max is 500, when my PIR qty is 90 it will generate planned order for 100 where as when my PIR is 600, i am expecting the planned order qty for 500 but it always the same with minimum lot size, is there any specific reason? using mrp type PD.

    Hi Sprint,
Well you have to go through with the lot size procedures OK. EX means lot for lot order quantity so it does not consider the MINIMUM lot size OK please check once again OK.
If you are order quantity is 600 and maximum lot size is 500 then after running the MRP go to MD04 screen you can see there planned orders will be created so there first it will create Planned order for 500 quantity and then there will be another planned order for 100 please check once OK.
It will consider only maximum lot size OK.

  • Lot Size Planning for Procurement

    Hi  guys
In our company we work with minimum lot sizes for procurement, and we need to configure minimum lot sizes for procurement in the SNP optimization run. It´s posible to do it in SNP, pls can someone tell me how to configure this in SNP?
    David

    Hi David,
I am glad to hear that.
Regarding your performance issue: it is very usual to have long runtime when using discrete model.
The complexity of this model is much higher than a linear problem; so the optimiser takes time to find THE optimal solution.
However there is a lot you can do to make it better:
    1. Split your model: instead of running 1 big optimiser, run serveral smaller one in parallel.Ensure your model are all independant (e.g. no common product or resource)
    2. Use decomposition: (product/ time/resource; based on your scenari) to simplify the porblem, hence speeding the solution.
    3. Set a maximum time
You do not have to wait for THE optimal solution. The optimiser can sometime very quickly find a very good solution; the last hours are spent "fine tuning" it. Potentially, you might not be able to see the difference between a 4h job and the 15H one).
Hence SAP advises to set a maximum runtime when working with discrete model.
The question is how to define this maximum time to optimise the ratio solution quality / runtime.
Answer: test it, check the result. Be aware that perfomrance testing for the optimiser can take a while.
    4. fine tune you optimiser setting
There is a couple a finetuning that can be done to improve performance, especially for discrete model.
I will not be able to help you woth that.
As far as I am aware only the SAP optimiser team has the expertise to help here.
I strongly recommand to contact them; their help is often invaluable. They will also help you to define the 3 first points.
I hope this will help you.
    Thanks and Regards
    Julien
